Work Text:
Jin stretched his arms above his head, letting out a content sigh as he settled onto his bed. It had been a long day of practice, and he was just grateful to be back in the comfort of their shared dorm room. He glanced over at Yoongi, who was busy setting up his laptop.
"Hyung, wanna watch "American Sniper" with me?" Yoongi asks nonchalantly, eyes still fixed on the screen.
The thought of spending a little more time together tonight filled Jin's heart with a mixture of excitement and contentment, as he eagerly accepted Yoongi's proposal.
"You know, Yoongi," Jin began, "I think we could remove the divider tonight. We've been roommates for a while now, and it's not like we're going to invade each other's space."
Yoongi raised an eyebrow, looking up to meet Jin's gaze. "Are you sure about that, Jin? It's been working fine so far."
Jin nodded, a small smile forming on his lips. "It'll be more comfortable if we push our beds together. Besides, it's just for the movie."
"If you say so," Yoongi replied, trying to hide the slight excitement in his voice. "But it's going to be a hassle to set it up again later."
Jin laughs as they pushed their beds together to create a makeshift double bed. As Jin and Yoongi settled in, Jin couldn't help but notice the fatigue etched into Yoongi's features. He had always known that Yoongi worked tirelessly, but lately, it seemed like he was taking on even more responsibilities. Jin's heart ached for his friend, knowing how much effort Yoongi put into every aspect of their lives, including their music.
"You seem tired, Yoongi," Jin said softly, concern evident in his voice. "Is everything okay?"
Yoongi sighed, rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand. "I've just been swamped with everything lately. You know how it is, the preparations for 'The Most Beautiful Moment in Life' comeback, producing new tracks, and handling the other aspects of our career. It's been taking a toll on me, I guess."
Jin nodded empathetically, his admiration for Yoongi's dedication growing even more. "You're doing an amazing job, but please don't forget to take care of yourself too. You can't pour from an empty cup."
Yoongi managed a small smile, grateful for Jin's understanding. "I know, I know. I'm just... It's hard to turn my brain off, you know? That's why I've been having trouble sleeping lately. Coffee's been my only fuel."
Jin's heart sank at the thought of Yoongi struggling with insomnia. He scooted a little closer, offering silent support. "Well, tonight, let's forget about everything else. We'll watch the movie, and you can take a break from it all, even if just for a little while."
As the movie started playing, Yoongi tried to focus on the screen, letting the storyline distract him from his worries. However, as the movie progressed, Jin found it harder and harder to keep his eyes open. He stole glances at Yoongi, who seemed engrossed in the film. It was comforting to have him so close, and a small part of Jin wished they didn't have to go back to separate beds after this night.
On the other hand, Yoongi was surprised at how comforting Jin's presence was. They’re the only roommates who aren’t as clingy with each other. They liked how they didn’t invade each other's space. As much as he loves that setup, Having Jin so close to him, their shoulders touching, made his heart flutter.
As the movie reached its end, Jin turns to see Yoongi yawning. He tried to fight off the drowsiness, not wanting to miss any moment with Jin, but it was a losing battle. Eventually, his eyes drooped closed, and he fell asleep with his head resting on Jin's shoulder.
The movie dims to a black screen. Jin turned to look at Yoongi, a fond smile on his face. He closes Yoongi's laptop and slips it back into its case. Jin carefully adjusted their position, making sure Yoongi was comfortable before he, too, succumbed to sleep.
If J-Hope was Yoongi’s energy, Jin was his remedy.
