‘Apprehensive’ isn’t really the right word to describe it.
“I know it’s a big question,” murmurs Marinette. She’s quiet, and Kagami hears the flinch that sleeps underneath the words.
“Yes.” ‘Anxious’ is a better word. ‘Agitated’. ‘Antsy’.
“I totally misread the situation, didn’t I? I shouldn’t have put you on the spot like that, asking you out on a date, that’s ridiculous, right? You probably don’t even like girls. And now you’re going to hate me forever, and –”
Kagami stills Marinette with a raised hand. “Marinette, you didn’t hear me right.”
The actual right word is… ‘excited’.
“I said yes.”
