You Go Up Instead of Down

Summary:

Only two years ago, Iron Man and the original Avengers discovered Steve, frozen and floating in the Arctic Ocean, and rescued him.

It's been rough for Steve, adjusting to this new world, but he has a lot of support -- from two people in particular. Tony Stark is brilliant, handsome, and a generous benefactor to the team. He's even given Steve a place to live in his actual mansion! Steve doesn't really understand why, but it's clear Mr. Stark is good man, devoted to helping the Avengers.

And then there's Iron Man, who has quickly become Steve's best friend, Iron Man is brave, and determined, and just a terrific teammate. He's given Steve the thrilling experience of flying into battle while riding on his back! And in that gleaming suit of armor, Iron Man always has Steve's back. Steve is Iron Man's biggest fan.

This edit was made for the 2023 SteveTony Games, to fill the square “Road Trip,” and the challenge “Never Have I Ever.” It is set in the universe of the 1966 Marvel Superheroes cartoons (Earth-600026).

The original art is from Avengers: War Across Time #1, by Alan Davis; the balloon background is from "T-Rex's Busy Day," by Ryan North.

The title comes from the song, "Brand New Day," by Sting.
