Work Text:

Ranboo was tending to his crops, planting wheat, moving cocoa beans around, just trying to get his mind off of the previous events. He didn’t want to think about the possible enemy he and Tubbo may have made by just wanting to sell cookies here, no, he would just pretend-

A sharp thunderous sound drew him abruptly from his thoughts.

An explosion? Oh, Prime.

He rushed to the lava gate, hoping that the walls he and Tubbo had just finished constructing were okay and that he was not currently under attack from Quackity or whoever else he had with him in Las Nevadas. He deactivated the wall of lava and stood, waiting for the flowing to stop.

It felt like decades had passed before he was able to see over the lava, so many fears ran through his mind as he prepared to defend himself.
Much to his surprise, Quackity wasn’t there. Instead, in front of him stood a very average looking humanoid with light auburn hair that swept into one of their glasses-covered eyes, along a simple white shirt that seemed to be roughly embroidered with three red hearts and strange font that read: "so yeah. i'm a gamer."
Ranboo didn’t seem to be the only one who was surprised because as soon as they made eye contact they yelped and began rushing away from him.

“Hey! H-hold on!”

He called out to the person, and leaped over the rest of the lava, noticing a very prominent hole in the ground about 5 feet to his left, 'it was just a creeper then. ..' Then, he spotted them again, standing idly in the flat field between the outpost and Las Nevadas. The moon was high in the sky and it illuminated their outlines with a faint layer of milky light as Ranboo slowly approached the humanoid.

“You're spying on me!” The humanoid exclaimed, with an oddly chipper tone.

“Spying?- No one’s spying on anyone, W-who are you?”

“I’m meat and bones! I have lots of bones!” And sure enough, the figure pulled out two bones and began dual wielding them before adding on, “I’m a human! Just like you!” Ranboo resisted flinching as they gestured with their bone towards him, stopping only mere inches from his chin.

With his sharp horns and strange tail, it was quite obvious that he wasn't a human.

"I- . .. umm. .." Ranboo leaned to the side and pushed the bone out of his line of sight. "I'm actually. ..not" he spoke, confused.

Suddenly, their eyes beamed and a smile erupted on their face, "You aren't?!" The humanoid was bouncing on its heels as it leaned closer to Ranboo's face, inspecting him.

Ranboo stood nervously as the humanoid looked at him from every angle, then, he yelped as hands gripped both sides of his face, pulling him closer to the humanoid and turning his face to the side. “H-hey i’m not really co-” Ranboo started to say, but was then cut off when the humanoid turned his face to meet their’s again. He felt his anxiety spike when he noticed how close they were, but he took a chance to get a better look at this person; he was definitely going to tell Tubbo about this bizarre interaction.

His eyes flickered along the now clear features of the humanoid. Taking in their playful green eyes, a few stray freckles, and simple black rectangle glasses that lacked lenses.

Ranboo noticed a strange silence fall over them and quickly blurted out "Do you- do you want..a cookie ?" His voice sounded slightly strangled, the words almost dying in his throat before they could even escape it. The humanoid didn't let him go, but it nodded, eyes lighting up once more. "Yes! a cookie, i know what that is" the humanoid chirped once more. Ranboo weirdly got the feeling that this guy somehow had no clue what a cookie was. It didn't matter too much, it got them to let go of his face and to follow back within the (mostly constructed) walls of the cookie outpost.
