“If I was a worm in a top hat who could only communicate with you telepathically, would you still love me?” Meredith turns to face Addison, the moonlight basking her in a soft glow.
“If you don’t go to sleep right now, I swear—“ Addison grumbles, pulling the blonde in close.
“I’m serious, Addie, I need to know. Would you still love me if I was a worm in a top hat who could only communicate telepathically?”
“If I say yes will you go to sleep?”
“Maybe.”
“Yes Meredith, I would still love you if you were a worm in a top hat who could only communicate telepathically. You are such a weirdo sometimes.”
“I’d still love you too if you were a worm in a top hat who cou-“ She’s cut off by a pair of lips pressed against her own.
“Go to sleep, you’re going to be grumpy tomorrow if you don’t and then I’ll have to punish you.”
“I like it when you punish me though.”
“Meredith! Sleep.”
“Geez, alright. I’m going to sleep. You’re so grumpy.”
“Shh.”
“I love you, even when you’re grumpy because I asked you if you’d still love me if I was a worm.”
“I love you too.” Addison pulls her impossibly closer and both women drift to sleep with pleasant smiles on their faces.
