Chapter Text
The men in black came the day after Lera left.
I asked them who they were, and one of them started yelling in English.
Another one grabbed me and tried to put a syringe in my neck.
They tried to take me away, but my family wouldn’t let them.
They ran away.
The next day, a man in orange came.
I asked him if Lera got out safely.
If she did, these people would know.
After all, they had built a perimeter around my town.
The man in orange said that if she had, they probably would’ve given her ‘amnestics’. He said that those were syringes that made her forget me.
…I wish they didn’t do that.
He also asked why I couldn’t leave. I told him the truth: my family wouldn’t let me.
When I said they were the town, he went inside my apartment building.
He didn’t come back out.
They kept sending guys in orange, but they were all rude, and had a really weird nickname for me.
‘SCP-149111-1’.
I didn’t help them.
A week later, a lady in a white lab coat came to see me. She said her name was Dr. Belyaeva. She was speaking Russian, which was nice. She said she wanted to ask me some questions, and that I could ask her things too. I told her my name, and asked if she wanted me to show her around.
She said no.
She smiled, which made me feel a bit better.
‘So, Nika, how old are you?’
‘...I’m…’ I blinked. ‘I…I don’t know…’
‘You don’t know how old you are?’
I shook my head.
‘Well, where do you go to school? That uniform looks a while out of date…’
‘...School…?’
‘Yes, school. Don’t you know how to read, write?’
‘...a-a little…’
She scribbled something in her notebook. ‘Did your family teach you how? You’ve mentioned them a couple times.’
‘I…I think so…they gave me a book that taught me how…’
‘Can I meet them?’
