Chapter Text

When the news announces an agreement from their fellow Greek god that Zeus would be the King of the Cosmos and Heavens, it brings great worry to Adamas.

'Can Zeus do it?'

A single question was asked by Adamas to himself. The God of Conquest pondered the fates of the Greek pantheon. Zeus is still a brat who likes to fuck anything with a leg. Nothing could escape his lust; if he desired pleasure, he would attain it without thinking about the consequences. He cannot imagine how Zeus will handle it.

Zeus is no idiot; Adamas admitted it. Zeus is bright; he would be a wise king. It's just his attitude is kinda- Adamas remember when his youngest brother made love with another deity, resulting in a child of out of wedlock, and the heaven shook as Hera unleashed her wrath. Zeus's hair was saved by Hades and Adamas. Using the authority as the eldest siblings of Kronos’s sons, suggestions were made where some of Zeus's bastards became the aide of the Greek pantheon, and some seeds of Zeus led the mortal as a warrior and even kings.

Adamas's only regret was being unable to help and save those women Zeus slept with. Some of them escaped, and some of them didn't.

Being a leader was a heavy responsibility, let alone a leader for the Greek god; his youngest brother managing heavenly duties was not ideal. With his personality, he was concerned that Zeus would overlook his duty. What if he overworks? He should enjoy his youth and freedom while his father was dead.

Constant uneasiness resulted in Adamas rebelling against his own youngest brother. With the help of Hermes, Adamas managed to gain the support of 49 members of Zeus's council and several of the twelve Olympian Gods support and loyalty. Adamas knows he will get in trouble, but with his charm and power he is confident that he can do it, to strengthen his position more he freed the Titans and giants to assist him in overthrowing Zeus. Surprisingly, even the Typhoon willingly expresses loyalty towards the Adamas. Satisfied with the outcomes. Adamas never feels more ready. With determination to bring down Zeus and take the throne, Adams thought.

“Let your elder brother rule for you.”

Between him and Hades, he knows that he's not reliable and 'strong' as Hades due to his offensive talking style and brash attitude. To top it all, his titan-like appearance was not desirable by many. There are a lot of rumours surrounding Adamas; attention seeker, rude, hot-headed, violent, and lastly, the most well-known gossip obsessed towards his little brother, Poseidon.

The rumours did affect Adamas's self-esteem. Because of that, his fierce attitude became more apparent. It became a defence mechanism of Adamas to push people away from him. Hades did nag him to tone down his self-absorbed attitude, but Adamas was too stubborn to act more politely. Claiming that the other god's pantheon will look down on him if he reverts to his meek attitude.

"Dearest brother, do you think your recent behaviour is getting more excessive." A deep calm voice addressed the petite god in front of him with a mild yet authoritative demeanour.

The petite god, now fixated on the words uttered by the elder god, gained attention, and the god fully turned his attention towards him. "So that is what they called it now? Excessive, I do not give a single fuck, Hades." Adamas said with a mocking attitude crossing his arms and puffing out his breath to indicate his annoyance.

"If I backed out now from my current self, that asshole Poseidon would never look me in the eyes, and the fucking pantheons will ridicule me more." He continued while sneering toward Hades.

"Enough of that, Poseidon; he cared not for you, be more considerate towards others, Adamas; if you are a perfect god, act like one" he said with a commanding voice, but the reply that he got just Adamas avoided his gaze while making a displeased faced.

"Adamas, this is for your own good. Your brash personality display was humiliating to be witnessed by me in front of others; I want my first little brother to be better," Hades sighed while facepalming, feeling guilty for what he had said; he could not believe that he needed to resort to dropping the bomb, hoping the conversation would be his favour but-

Adamas studied his brother's strained expression; he sighed briefly, uncrossing his hand. Smiling endearingly. He wants to try evoking his brother.

"Big brother Hades, does it mean my endearment shall be shared by many like I did during our old day in the Kronos household?" Adamas reverted to his usual behaviour during their day at Kronos's palace. Adamas carefully reached Hades's left hand, lifting it up until it settled on Adamas’s face allowing the rough, calloused hands gently stroking his face.

"Very well, my dear brother, I shan't defy you anymore. It is such a waste to not flaunt this charismatic version of me. Even with this hideous look, maybe my benevolence will be accepted by the other 'gods", he said cheerily with a sweet smile; he squished his cheeks on Hades giant palm in bliss.

Hades does not reply. His expression turned sullen, narrowed his eyes. Without warning, his other free hand pulled Adamas close to him, still maintaining his gaze on Adamas. He resumed gently caressing Adamas's cheeks while cupping his face, his thumbs gently stroking his lips.

Adamas smirks knowingly; he knows how possessive Hades is towards him. Adamas is no fool; he knows what kind of gaze Hades gives him is not brotherly affection. Hades was lucky that Adamas willingly acted oblivious. After all, Adamas is not worthy of his brother's love, he thought sadly. He is nothing compared to Poseidon. After some while, Hades sighed in defeat, gave up and let Adamas do what he pleased. No one can know nor be allowed to perceive Adamas's charisma.

"Brother did you know, if you sigh, you'll chase happiness away" Adamas chirped.

"Yeah yeah, I know. Just do whatever you want," Hades replied in defeat; he vanquished the unruly thought and simultaneously released Adamas from his grasp.

Adamas is satisfied by Hade's complaint. After Hades walks away, “You’re not hideous at all” he spoke before leaving Adamas all alone. He pondered how long he could put up with this façade. It was a degrading display for the second Kronos offspring, but he needs to be patient. Highest heaven to the deepest of hell, only him, Adamas, knows the mask he wears is just a pathetic attempt to hide his true self.

He is the only one who knows, right?

During the day of the king of Titan's reign, a silent agreement was arranged between Kronos and Hades. Hades would go to war for his younger siblings and handle some of their father's ruler affairs. Hades does endure a lot of duty on behalf of his siblings so they can grow up without experiencing bloodshed. Thus, the responsibility for caring for the other siblings falls onto Adamas.

Most of the time, he is the one who protects his siblings from his father's wrath from time to time, with the absence of her mother. Despite not reaching a fully pledged teenager, Adamas fared well. He managed the affair left by Hades to lessen the burden. Accompanied by his two other younger siblings, Poseidon, who is reading a book, baby Zeus babbles while swinging around his toys, trying to gain his brother's attention. Documents were arranged; the smell of ink, the rustling of the paper, and the sound of non-stop scribbling could be heard. It was a peaceful day for them until-

"WAAH!!" Zeus erupted with his loud crying. Startled, Adamas glanced briefly at the source of the noise. Still continued doing his work.

"Poseidon, help him please", he indicated the fallen toys that fell on the floor. The book closed shut. Poseidon glanced at Zeus indifferently, debating whether to help or not. The crying was getting on his nerves. The servant won't come here for a while. He groaned, bent down to get the toy, and tossed it to Zeus. Resulting in the baby crying harder and louder. Poseidon widened his eyes, panicked. He went by Zeus' side. His hand reaches to grab the baby but hangs in the air, ensuring what to do. Poseidon does not know what to do. He feels helpless. How did Hades do again? How did the servant do it again?

"It's fine, Poseidon" Adamas walked towards them, abandoning his work after witnessing Poseidon in distress. Poseidon was stunned by the sudden presence. His eyes fixated on Adamas but not looking at his eyes. Adamas gently picked up the baby, wrapped in his arms; Zeus's cries became a muffled whimper, hinting at his soothing presence. Began gently rocking back and forth, comforting and consoling the baby. Slowly, the baby's cries began to fade until they eventually stopped.

Poseidon was astonished by his brother's sudden gentleness behaviour. When the cries stop, Adamas wants to put Zeus back in his crib, but the baby grips his clothes like a clamp. "Sweetie, I need to resume my work now", Adams consoled, but the baby didn't want to let go of his brother. 'He wants to be held, huh' Adamas thought, cheeky little god. "Poseidon, would you mind holding your brother for a moment?" Adamas suddenly referred to him. Poseidon blinked and looked at Adamas as if he had grown another head. He was unamused by the plan.

"It won't be long. I only need to finalize three more documents," Adamas explained. In response, Poseidon shrunk away and blatantly ignored Adamas's request. He does not wish to partake in the embarrassment. When Adamas steps forward, Poseidon shirks away from him.  Looking sideways, avoiding his attention from his brother.

"I do not know how", Poseidon whispered loud enough for the older god to hear. He hoped that his confession would have spared him with this charade.

Adamas huffed in annoyance. He really does not want to bring Zeus to the desk with him. "Here, hold him" Adamas suddenly shoved Zeus onto Poseidon's chest. Startled by the sudden action, he catches his brother in his arm. Resulting in Poseidon holding the baby awkwardly. It made Adamas snicker at sight. "Here, let me tell you how" Adamas does not have the heart to torment his brother. "First, support his head and neck with one of your hands", following the instruction. Poseidon carefully moved his palm onto Zeus's head. The baby’s neck felt so fragile, he did his best to find a comfortable position to support it.

"You’re doing great, now, rest him on your chest and shoulder", he added. Poseidon was confused by the instruction. He fumbled his arm around to comprehend the teaching without letting go of the support on Zeus’s head. Poseidon looks so lost, and lots of question marks pop around him. With an attempt, Poseidon arches his back while resting the baby on 'his chest and shoulder', trembling, trying to hold the position. Adamas giggled at the sight. "No, no, sit up straight and do it like this", Adamas motioned the right way while using his arm. Poseidon glanced for a brief second and mimicked it successfully. "Good; onto the last step, use your other free hand to hold his bottoms." Adamas ended the instruction. With his free hands, he slid his other hand below the baby bum.

A heart-warming scene had been created. Poseidon holding his little brother for the first time in his life gently, Poseidon is completely enamoured by his little brother. He unintentionally hummed a familiar song to him.

Adamas smiled at the sight. “I know you can do it" Adamas patted Poseidon's head gently. Poseidon flinches at the sudden contact.

"I'm proud of you."

Poseidon was shocked by the compliment at first and didn't know what to say. Poseidon is not used to receiving compliments from Adamas, and he feels shy and awkward when he does receive one. He may not know how to react initially and cannot express his gratitude. He hung his head low whilst looking at his now snoring little brother, that snuggled close to his chest. Adamas just kept silent, understanding.

Poseidon slowly walked towards the lounge and sat carefully while holding Zeus in his arm.  Hoping it would not wake him up. He was no longer interested in reading the book instead he studied his little brother.

"I'm going to resume the remaining assignment, and then... I will go get refreshments for you as compensation. Sounds good?" Adamas informed, returning to his desk, wanting to finish the work. He did not expect any replies from him and diligently settled the remaining jobs.

"Together", Poseidon said in an inaudible voice.

Adamas hummed in response without looking up not really paying attention.

"Let us go together, out from this place, to eat", the young god spoke in complete sentences for the first time since they crashed at Hades's study room.

Surprised by Poseidon’s words, he smiled faintly "Sure, anything for you." Adamas responded, "The weather seems nice too, perfect fit for a picnic", Adamas said happily. It was such a shame that Hades was not with them right now.

Other than this occasion, Poseidon would throw a silent but deadly tantrum with his godly power and Zeus's being picky to be handled by the handmaiden. The servant was too timid to serve them and struggled to control them without facing the consequences. Adamas will step in. Adamas was the first to come to his brother's needs and handle them independently despite being occupied by his father's demands. Adamas acted more motherlike and mentored his younger siblings to the best of his abilities. He taught them, entertained them, and cared for them wholeheartedly. With the absence of Hades going to war, Adamas did his best to raise and love them just like Hades did. He showered them with much love and provided them with a safe space-

but

Was it never enough?

As the oldest and most mature sibling, Hades knew the world was not all sunshine and rainbows. He wanted to ensure his younger siblings could stand up for themselves and be tough when necessary. So, he taught them how to be strong and resilient. He would tell them stories of his harrowing experiences and how he had overcome them, and he would also take them on tiny adventures to teach them how to navigate the world. Aside from that, Adamas taught them how to love and care for others. However, the younger sibling was confused and ridiculed Adamas's teachings because the young one believed that the world was harsh and that only strength and toughness would matter. This saddened Adamas, who wanted Poseidon and Zeus to be kind and caring. Nevertheless, he didn't let their mocking affect him, and he continued to teach his younger sibling the value of kindness and compassion.

Balance as it should be, the first and second were a perfect fit for each other to raise their little siblings. But, the younger favours the eldest more. Hades etches the thought of being an ideal god and must possess all possible perfections to be all-powerful, all-knowing, immutable, perfectly good, and not rely on others. A flawless being. Only Poseidon take high regard for the guidance.

Despite that constant speech and teaching from Hades, Adamas's view of the perfect God differs from Hades. For him, a god is a being that lives in eternal solitude, which he hates. A sole deity who rules without acknowledging the other. Absolute rule, law and order, no objection, no discussion, and no unity. After all, it rules solely for its own needs.

..............................𝘐𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺, 𝘈𝘥𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨..............................

Why would he live like that? Why would he live in seclusion while he had a family? Screw being an ideal god who stands above all. The warmth of the family is far more important to him. Due to his reverent nature and point of view, he was regarded as defiled by the title of God. Because of that, his life ended in his very own brother's hands, Poseidon.

"You think that little shit Zeus is better than us? We are his older brothers! Do you think he is better than us? King of Cosmos and Heaven!? Are they looking down on us?" the God of Conquest expressed frustration in his meeting room, but only one God was presented.

"No brother should look down on his elders... Common sense, isn't it? You will support me. Poseidon?" he continued as the God of the sea looked down boringly. Unbothered by the sudden outburst. An angry tick mark appeared on Adamas's forehead, but he brushed it off. Still attempt to give his little brother a chance.

"I've gathered the support of 49 members of Zeus' council and some of the 13 Olympus support and loyalty. To add more, I've gained an army of titans, giants and even typhoons to bring Zeus down," Adamas said arrogantly with pride with what he had. "If you come to my side, we'll have Zeus's neck, " he said, hoping Poseidon would accept it. "You'll assist me, right, Poseidon?" Adamas asked with a low voice. Instead, the younger brother of his just looked down haughtily and didn't even acknowledge his elder brother's plan.

"You expect me to just blindly follow your crazy ambitions?" Poseidon replied calmly, without looking up at Adamas.

"What a pathetic older brother you are."

A single line was said from his younger brother's lips. It set a flame on Adamas's fury inside his heart. He gritted his teeth in anger, and his knuckles turned white after clenching it too hard; without warning, Adamas kicked the table in front of it, breaking it in half.

"What did you say?" daring him to repeat what he had said to his own elder brother, but he got no reply. He looked at Poseidon with crazed eyes, his body tense in anger.

"I thought Zeus was bad enough. You're just the same," Adamas said with an unapologetic tone. Disappointed. He glared dangerously at him. Their eyes were not met at all. Poseidon was still unbothered by the remarks and remained seated like a king. Adamas started to get irritated by his disdain. Adamas clenched his fists, struggling to contain his mounting fury. Poseidon continued to sit unruffled, as if completely unaffected by Adamas’s antics. The longer the two of them faced each other, the more frustrated Adamas became. Finally, he could contain himself no longer.

"Damn you, Poseidon!" Adamas shouted. The god of the sea remained unmoved, but his expression seemed to shift slightly. A small smile crossed his face, almost imperceptibly. Adamas was enraged beyond belief.

Adamas slammed his palm on the table with great force, and the shockwave of the wind spread throughout the room.

"Look me in the eyes! I am your older brother! Show me some fucking respect!!" he screamed out loud towards Poseidon. His voice latched with anger and desperation for his little brother's acknowledgement. Adamas was getting desperate. Suddenly Adamas eyes perk when Poseidon arise from his seat.

"We have no need for armiesNo need for betrayalNo need for support.

Such are the Gods. We have been the perfect beings since the beginning,

yet you have managed to defile everything we stand for."

Stunt by the sudden speech, Adamas is fueled with anger. How dare he? How dare his own little brother insult him like this. Adamas was blinded by his emotions. Out of rage, he dashes towards Poseidon with his scythe to attack. As Adamas raised his scythes with a grace that might move, he swung the divine weapon downward and cried out his voice.

"I said look at me, dammit!!"

The blue eyes collided with his golden eyes for the first time; the gaze was maintained as the trident pierced his body. Blood spurted out from his mouth. Adamas felt a strange mixture of disbelief and acceptance as the trident pierced his body. He knew this was the end, but something in him refused to believe it. He wanted to struggle, to fight back, but he was too weak. As blood surged from his wound, Adamas gasped and choked, gasping desperately for one last breath. He could see Poseidon standing before him, his face cold and expressionless. Adamas knew this was the end, but he would not go down.

"P-pose" it was an old familiar nickname uttered before Adamas's life ended. A weird feeling crept up to Poseidon, but he dismissed it, slicing his brother in half. Poseidon withdrew the trident and watched as Adamas's body slumped limp on the ground. He had fulfilled his promise to Zeus once again, removing the thorn from his side and allowing him to continue his reign peacefully. Not even a glance was spared as he walked away. Poseidon's footsteps echoed ominously through the hall as he turned to face the empty throne once again.

"There was one who wasn't a god among the 13 gods of Olympus", Poseidon spoke in the empty hall, striding, leaving the bloody scene behind and walking calmly towards the exit.

"Right, Hermes"

Following that, Poseidon informed Hermes that there was one among them who was unworthy to be a God and ordered that Adamas be erased from all records, which was greeted with no objections or discussion. That will teach his brother a lesson, Poseidon thought to himself.

The lifeless bodies were left behind.

None of the legacies were left behind.

The record of Adamas's glory was erased like nothing.

Poseidon's intention was mainly to save his second brother's face from something he would regret later on. After all, Adamas was a kind and caring God. As Poseidon reflects on Adamas and the sacrifice he made to protect their youngest little brother, Zeus, he can't help but feel a twinge of regret. Poseidon knows that he did what he had to do, but it still weighs heavily on his heart. Poseidon takes solace in the fact that he did what he believed was right and prevented his second brother from making a mistake that he would later regret.

Ultimately, Poseidon's love and compassion for Adamas is greater than any ego or pride that he may feel. This selflessness and love are what make Poseidon a true god.

'Such an imprudent plan, harming your own little brother?' Poseidon scoffs inside his monologue during Adamas's lecture.

'It does not sound like you at all, brother Adamas,' the word left unsaid by the tyrant of the sea.

Things will be alright because Adamas has the ability to heal himself. Poseidon simply needs to wait for his brother to reflect within himself and come back to them.

yet

Adamas never did.

Black curtain fall. A spotlight shine upon the narrator (Author: Let's put Heimdall here)

Heimdall :

"Ehem", fixing his throat

"Oh, What a fool god

His immense love and worries caused his death upon himself.

He does not even fight properly with his very own little brother because of Lord Poseidon's swift attack."

Heimdall dramatically spanned around with a sad tone in his voice.

Adamas interjected, "Well, it did hurt like hell." he huffed in annoyance.

"He pretended to play dead for a bit, instead facing that woman's wrath." Heimdall continued until he noticed the figure beside him. Startled by the sudden appearance, Adamas's body is cut in half, bloody but still talking.

"AHHH! Y-y-you are-" Heimdall started to sweat like a bullet; he immediately looked at the script on his hand and reread the sentence.

"What do you mean by that woman's wrath?" he asked the author.

Heimdall glanced towards the ex-God of Conquest. Who seemed to be alive?

Huh? Ah!!!!!!!!

Everything turned black.

The sound of rewinding broken tape can be heard.

"I want to raise rebel against that bastard maker."
