Work Text:

The rustling beside Jun caused him to stir awake from his sleep. It was still quite early, and he expected to wake up a bit later since he had a day off. It was a much-needed rest after the job his unit, Eden, took. He turned to the other side of the bed to see Chiaki already up.

Jun sat up and yawned, but he couldn't wake up fully and draped himself over Chiaki's shoulder and lazily rested his arms around him. "What're you doing being up so —yawn— early in the morning?"

"A run! I thought of going for early morning runs to keep me in shape!" Chiaki seemed to be roaring with energy, which differs from the gentleness his hand stroking Jun's cheek. "Do you want to come with! It would definitely be more enjoyable with more people! We should work hard to better ourselves so that we can be great idols!"

Ah, the ever admirable Ryusei Red, always so determined, Jun thought. "Nah, I'll pass for today. I'll go tomorrow."

"Yes, breaks are also important! You rest up, I'll only be gone for a little while." Jun sat up against their shared bed while Chiaki went and got dressed.

"Oh, did you eat breakfast yet? I can go make some food now."

"Nope! Don't worry about me, I'll be fine! I'll just eat some leftovers while I go."

Chiaki finished getting dressed and walked up to Jun, who was checking his hold-hands messages. Chiaki plants a kiss on Jun's temple, "okay! going out now, I'll be back!"

"Mhm, take care." Jun watched as Chiaki eagerly heads out from their apartment.

As if Chiaki's tenacity rubbed off on Jun, he decides he should get up too. He stretched out his arms in front of him to release tension in his muscles. He walked to the window and opens the blinds, letting in the sunshine in. Jun happened to see Chiaki jogging his way on the sidewalk, and a tiny smile creeps up on his face. He really was like a shooting star.

Jun sends a text to Chiaki about breakfast. He responds that anything Jun wants is good. Jun sighed, Chiaki was always so courteous, Jun found that very endearing, but the reason he asked in the first place was because he didn't know what to make either. Oh right, make sure to text me before you get here so i can start breakfast :]

Yes sir! ☆ chiaki replied.

It'd be some time until Chiaki comes back, so Jun decided to preoccupy himself with some tv. He also got waffles to satisfy his stomach while he waits for Chiaki to return. A popular series was airing on at the moment, one that Jun was mildly interested in. This particular episode had a wedding theme where the gimmick was that it was a very unconventional wedding. Funny, it reminded Jun of the job he and Chiaki took.

Jun mused about the experiences at that time. It was his first time in Kyoto after all, the whole thing made it very memorable. He remembers how he and Chiaki kept getting paired together throughout the "field trip" and despite how cheesy it is, Jun thinks it wasn't totally coincidental.

A small vibration buzzed from Jun's phone, showing a recent message from Chiaki.

Almost home! I took a slight detour to help an old lady with her groceries, so i might be late! ☆

So very admirable. Okay :) don't push yourself ryusei red

Ha ha ha! ☆ don't worry about me!!!

Now that Jun has had time to settle on something, he gets right up to make breakfast. He decides on omurice since it was a filling meal while being relatively easy to make. And while he wasn't some kind of world-renowned chef —he really didn't think his cooking warranted such high praises— Chiaki always came up with new compliments to say on everything he makes.

The door to their apartment creaked open, speak of the devil.

"I'm home!" Chiaki beams.

"Welcome back, I just finished cooking a few minutes ago."

Jun watches as Chiaki sits down at the dining table and enthusiastically eats the meal he made; it nearly made him forget to eat his own plate as well. Chiaki commends his skills, as he usually does. He once said that when he eats Jun's cooking, it makes him truly happy, and that makes it such a delicious meal. Afterwards, Jun always seemed to stare and admire his boyfriend while he eats anything he makes, his happiness makes him happy as well, and it wonderful knowing it's because of him.

"Thank you for the meal! ah, I'm so filled. your cooking is the best, always!"

Jun smiled. "No need to exaggerate, I'm glad you love it, though."

"Well, I love you."

"I love you too." Jun plants a kiss on Chiaki's forehead as he got up from the table, Chiaki following close behind him. The two of them start washing their dishes.

"I'll love you to the ends of the earth." Chiaki whispered into Jun's ear.

that nearly made Jun's skip a beat, it was such a serious affirmation. blush had spread across his face. "Woah, where did that come from?"

"I just wanted to say I love you!" Chiaki responds with a cheeky smile.

"I know, I love you back."
