Summary
What if, rather than first meeting at Remire Village, Byleth had been a retainer in Edelgard's service for nearly a year before they attended the Officer's Academy at Garreg Mach?
What happens when, absent the convenient excuse of rescuing a trio of very important students from bandits, Rhea simply makes Byleth a professor as a fait accompli? When Hubert and Edelgard have an additional trusted ally, one who happens to have the Archbishop's eye for reasons unknown to them?In this AU, Byleth has been Edelgard's sworn blade for nearly a year, and Sothis has likewise been awake for about as long.
