Kaeya was packing up the shop for the day. The streets outside had turned a beautiful white while the skys emitted a soft hue of orange, tomorrow was Christmas.
The sound of bells shook him out of his trance. He looked over to the door to see a certain blonde walk in. The blonde, also known as his boyfriend Albedo, wore a coat and had a warm looking red scarf wrapped around his neck. Even being covered so completely his features were just as visibly stunning as ever. Kaeya felt a soft blush creep up his face as Albedo gave a small wave.
"Ah, Kaeya! Sorry for coming so late but I wanted to pick you up from work... Which I presume ends now?"
"Well you aren't wrong there, I just need to finish-" Kaeya was about to say he needed to finish the cleaning when Amber interrupted from behind.
"Nope! Go on your date lover boy~! I'll get Eula to help me do the rest."
Sighing at her cheery demeanour, he and Albedo bid her a goodbye and thanks before walking out together.
Hand in hand as they walk through the glittering streets of Mondstadt, so cold yet so warm all at the same time.
"So Bedo, we gonna go pick up Klee?" Kaeya inquired.
Albedo shook his head then leaned onto Kaeya's arm.
"Nope, Sucrose said she would look after her for me tonight."
"So we going home then. You had something to eat yet?"
Albedo hummed in response, signifying a no. Kaeya gave a small chuckle in return as they continued their way home.
Looking over at the blonde, Kaeya saw the snow slowly drift into his hair, seemingly illuminating it with a faint glow. It made Albedo appear almost as an angel of some sort, so pure and... Far.
Since when had things become like this? Wasn't it supposed to be him as a spy? Kaeya felt a twist in his heart as he remembered the day his father left him in mondstadt. So much had happened since then. Diluc, Master Crepus, joining the Knights of Favonius... Meeting Albedo,...his.. mission. The way the stars had aligned throughout his life in mondstadt was truly a wonder, did they intend for him to side with his country or his home? How was he supposed to know.. he-
The dark thoughts evaporated as Albedos voice rang through his ears.
"Kaeya, we're home."
"Oh I suppose so."
They opened door and was embraced by the warmth within their home. It gave a strange feeling of homeliness. Taking off his coat and boots he asked Albedo,
"You want some hot cocoa?"
"Why not." he heard.
Albedo sat on the floor infront of the fireplace, leaning back on the sofa with a blanket on top. It was a miricle to him that there truly was someone who made him feel so soft inside. So warm. So.. loved. Every moment with Kaeya he felt more or less closer to being human. Was this unusual..? Was he supposed to feel this way?.. Would this just be a waste of time from him completing his last assignment? The answers to all these questions were something even someone with his wit couldn't comprehend.
Suddenly he felt something snuggle up to him, adding another layer of warmth ontop of what he already had. It was Kaeya, holding two mugs of hot cocoa.
"Well darling, what a year it's been huh." Kaeya whispered beneath his breath, pressing a soft kiss to Albedo's cheek.
Taking a sip of the warm drink Albedo hummed in response, taking in the warmth.
"You know Kaeya.. it feels nice to just sit like this sometimes. Whether it's because of the warmth or because you're here, I feel more at ease."
"Didn't know you had such a sweet tongue dear~" he teased.
Albedo planted a chocolate filled kiss onto Kaeya's lips,
"Enjoy~."
The two men chuckled at the action, cuddling closer as well.
Kaeya felt his eyes get a little drowsy at the comfort, it was something that was so unknown but felt so nice at the same time.
"Let's just sleep for a bit Bedo.."
"Mm."
They were both Khaenrihans and people with enormous secrets hidden beneath, but at the end of the day they too were just people the stars led to meet. Maybe things could stay this way just a little longer...
