Work Text:

“Hyung look, I like this one!”

Woojin turns to find Gunwoo beaming beautifully, a small potted plant barely fitting in the palm of his fairly large hands. He shows it off as if it is the most glorious thing in the world.

Woojin snorts. “Gunwoo-ah, it’s a little small, don’t you think?"

Gunwoo pouts, turning the small potted plant in his hands thoughtfully as he does so. He frowns cutely, before shaking his head in disagreement.

“That’s why I like it. It’s cute.”

You’re cute, Woojin wants to say, but doesn’t. Instead, he chuckles.

“Whatever you say.” Woojin says as he turns back to the large display of various plants. Now that they practically live together, Woojin wanted Gunwoo to create a home with him, to make every inch of his tiny studio apartment comfortable for the both of them. That means, that Woojin wants Gunwoo to contribute to the decor and aesthetic of the place. Woojin was no interior designer, and truthfully, when he saw that there was a stove, refrigerator and in-unit laundry during the apartment tour, he didn’t really give a fuck about anything else. He didn’t do any decorating to say the least. He bought a used couch from a friend, a cheap mattress and frame from the department store, and he called it a day.

Woojin has everything that he needs, and that includes Kim Gunwoo.

Woojin wasn’t surprised to discover that Gunwoo was more of a minimalist when it came to decor and home goods. They were somewhat similar in that regard, except, Gunwoo tended to like furniture that was more chic and slick in design, however, those things tended to be more expensive. Granted, they had the money for it now, to upgrade and live a little bit more lavishly, but as the age old saying goes: why fix it if it isn’t broken?

What Woojin was surprised to find out however, was that Gunwoo loved cute things. He gawked at the most random and yet, cutest of trinkets that they would stumble upon. If Gunwoo stared at something for even a second too long, Woojin couldn't help but to buy it for him. As of right now, Gunwoo has a bunny shaped pen holder, an egg plushie with a smiley face, flower printed cups, and a cat paw shaped table mat that he uses to eat on. It's gotten to a point where Woojin could go shopping alone and spot an item that was quirky and yet, practical, something that Gunwoo would absolutely adore.

Oh, and another thing.

Gunwoo loved plants.

“Gunwoo-ah, what about this one! It’s cool looking, and sharp!” Woojin grins at a big, burly looking plant, one with a large mass for a stem and spiky leaves.

Gunwoo frowns. “Hyung, you might hurt yourself while taking care of it.”

Woojin scoffs. “That’s not even possible.” He says, turning the potted plant in his hands, excited and grinning at the alien-esque looking vegetable.

Gunwoo groans. "I don't like it. The leaves look like a monster's fingers."

Woojin's jaw drops. He laughs, in complete and utter disbelief.

"Seriously?" He says. Gunwoo nods with a pout, looking over at Woojin with eyes that resemble that of a frail puppy. Woojin scoffs with a tired groan, the rapid beating of his heart betraying the annoyed expression that he tries to convey.

How can a brave boxer like Gunwoo, be scared of a plant?

Gunwoo comes to stand at Woojin's side, his head leaning against the older man's shoulder. Woojin wraps his arm around Gunwoo's waist. “Hyung, let's get the little one instead. It's so cute!"

Goddammit.

Woojin is a grown ass man. He doesn't listen to or take shit from anybody, but damn does Kim Gunwoo have him wrapped around his fucking finger.

Woojin puts the uglier plant back on the shelf, even though he thinks it looks pretty fucking cool. Also, he'll be damned if someone tells him not to do something and he actually listens. It just makes Woojin want to do said thing even more.

But with Kim Gunwoo, Woojin is a helpless, lovesick fool.

Woojin looks around the plant shop before sneaking a kiss to Gunwoo's cheek. Gunwoo laughs before turning his head and pecking Woojin's lips gently. Woojin smirks, kissing Gunwoo more passionately this time, the kiss deeper but still so soft. Gunwoo smiles into the kiss, humming with delight as Woojin leans in for another. The two men quickly part as a few ajuhmmas walk through the aisle. Gunwoo clears his throat, all shy as his cheeks burn a deep of red. He looks down at his whitened knuckles that squeeze around the handlebar of their cart, bashful as he bites his lip. Woojin just cackles, waiting for the older women to leave before kissing the side of Gunwoo's head. Gunwoo giggles, turning back to face Woojin with a smile. Woojin looks down at Gunwoo's naturally pouty lips, about to kiss him again when Gunwoo turns away, smiling brightly at something that he sees up ahead.

"Ah, hyung! Look at that one!" Gunwoo pushes their cart forward, leaving Woojin frowning behind.

"Aish, you punk." Woojin mumbles, laughing at how adorable Gunwoo can be.

Gunwoo picks up another small plant, this one even tinier and cuter than the last. His smile is so bright, that Woojin almost feels the need to look away. He can't, far too enamored by the other man. Too in love.

"Hyung..." Gunwoo pleads, "can we get this one!"

Woojin just laughs.

"Pick whatever fucking plant you want. I'll buy them all for you."

Gunwoo kisses him on the cheek.
