Work Text:

Being a single parent, especially a single father is not easy. Honestly, it’s quite difficult if you asked Taehyung. Unfortunately, he didn’t have another choice. Nobody asked him what he wants or if he even wants his child. However, he wouldn’t trade his life for anything now.

Raising a kid while running a business was proven to be kind of complicated. Taehyung can thank a lot to his parents and friends who helped him since the beginning.

Neither of them will ever forget the day when Taehyung called his mother panicking and crying that there was a literal baby on his doorstep with only a note saying „I took care of him while I had to, now it’s your turn. Don’t worry, I won’t come back later for him.”

He really thought and hoped that some misunderstandings happened, but no. They made a DNA test and it was really his kid.

It was hard. The hardest thing he ever had to face and cope with in his life. But he doesn’t mind it now. He learned how to raise a child on his own, he learned how to manage to run his business while making time for his child. He learned everything he had to to be a good father – to tell the truth, his life is now only complete with Jiho.

He can’t and doesn’t even want to imagine his life without his perfect little 7 years old prince. He’s the one whom Taehyung wakes up for in the morning and is everything about him. He is the center of Taehyung’s life – nothing can ever change that.

„Good morning, Mr. Kim! Would you like to have some pancakes or omelet for today’s breakfast?” the chef asks as Taehyung sits down at the dining table, looking through some documents until his boy wakes up.

„Make some omelet for me please, also Jiho wanted to eat waffles last night, so please,” he says in a comforting tone but not even looking up from the papers. He needs to get the reading done soon because he hates when he has to work instead of spending time with his boy.

Taehyung lets out a big sigh, tossing his glasses up higher and furrowing his eyebrows as he feels like he can’t even understand what’s written there. He kind of pulled an all-nighter as he got a little behind work. Jiho got sick a few days ago and of course, he’s the priority. He hadn’t done anything for his company through those days, that’s why he feels like drowning in papers right now.

„Good morning, daddy,” a sleepy Jiho says, approaching his father who immediately opened his arms for the boy.

„Good morning, prince. How did you sleep?” he asks, picking him up and sitting him on his legs after giving him his usual good morning kisses and hugs.

„Slept good. I could’ve slept more though, but I’m fine. Is the teacher coming today, daddy?” he asks with curious big puppy eyes looking up at his dad, hoping the answer will be no.

„Yes, sweetheart. You aren’t sick anymore so it’s time to get back to studying,” he explains, caressing his face and trying to ignore the visible pout on his son’s face.

A few minutes later their chef serves the food on the table which causes Taehyung to separate from his son and make him sit on his own chair. He quickly puts away all the papers and several documents that were spread out before and gets to eat before he has to leave the house.

He waits for the teacher to arrive, only saying goodbye to his son after making sure he’s in good hands.

Taehyung only lives a few minutes away from his company so he usually just walks, but today he decided to just drive there to get there as soon as possible so he can also get home faster. Not knowing he won’t be able to start working on instant since his best friend decided to visit him today. He greets him with a forced smile when he notices Jimin’s presence at the reception and just nods his head indicating to follow him to his office.

„Today’s really not the best day to spend your time here, Jimin,” he sighs as he sits down, waiting for his coffee which his assistant is already making.

„I saw a movie yesterday. It was about a very rich guy who just couldn’t spend his money anymore and started having sugar babies but without the sugar, kinda,” Jimin starts explaining without even saying hi.

„You came here to tell me about this stupid movie?” Taehyung frowns, thanking Jia for the coffee meanwhile.

„You don’t understand, do you? Why don’t you get a sugar baby? You always complain to me that you don’t know where to put your fucking money anymore,”

„That doesn’t necessarily mean I want to pay for someone’s student loan, Jimin” Taehyung chuckles, leaning back on his chair.

„At least you’d make a new friend or even more…” he says, wiggling his eyebrows.

„I’m perfectly fine like this, thank you very much.” the CEO states strictly, causing his friend to just shake his head.

„You haven’t had a good fuck since eternity, Tae…”

„My life doesn’t revolve around sex. As I said, I’m good with Jiho. He’s the only one who matters and I’ll find another way to spend my money, so you don’t have to worry about that either.” he answers, trying to put an end to this conversation. It’s not like he doesn’t like when his best friend pays an unannounced visit to his company, but today is not the best day to do that because he is flooded with work.

„Consider having a sugar baby, though. It sounds fun. I’d definitely do it if I had that much money. And you’d be able to help someone who really needs it so it’s for good,” he winks at Taehyung while standing up and getting ready to leave the room.

„Gosh, fine. I’ll think about it.” he agrees, rolling his eyes as he waves at Jimin who just leaves, letting Taehyung drown in the papers.

Taehyung really wanted to think the whole sugar baby stuff through, but things got hectic. At work and even at home when one day he went home and Jiho asked him the big question. The one where he wants to know about his mother’s whereabouts. Taehyung knew this question will be brought up between them one day but he thinks it was a little too early. Jiho is a smart boy, smarter than most kids his age, but still. How can he explain the situation that actually happened? He doesn’t want to lie to his son, especially not about something so important like this. The best answer he could think at that moment was just that they’ll talk about this later when Jiho gets a little older so that he can actually understand what happened.

A week already passed since Jimin’s last visit to his office and the thought of getting himself a sugar baby just pops up in his mind one night after putting his son down to bed for a sleep.

He opens his browser and types in „how does being a sugar daddy work?”.

Taehyung’s eyes almost fall at the pictures and articles he’s welcomed by but decides to scroll a little further and finally notices something less absurd. An article which talks about how – mostly – college students decide to be sugar babies since they can’t work besides their studies. Taehyung reads through the whole article, he even makes small notes about how this whole thing works. He may make this more complicated than it actually is, but if he really does this, he needs to be precise and can’t let anyone know.

He always knew how he loves spoiling others since money hasn’t been a problem since his company literally broke into the business world. He loves spoiling his parents, his friends, and especially his son. Giving may be his love language.

That’s why he decides to just give this whole thing a shot since nothing can really go wrong. He’ll probably help out a boy with this and he can also spend some money on spoiling someone new.

Now, the only question is, where is he going to find a sugar baby to spoil for himself?

Taehyung enters the company building with a cup of coffee in his hand while balancing his phone and bag in the other. He tries to say hi to everyone while also paying attention to his mother who just keeps talking on the phone – not like he minds, but he hopes he just won’t bump into anything because he can’t multitask.

And well, just a few seconds later, he bumps into someone causing the man to fall back.

Taehyung tries to catch him, he really does, but he doesn’t have any free hands so he just watches the poor boy fall. He quickly ends the call, puts his phone away, and holds out his hand to help him up.

„Are you okay? I’m so sorry, I’m a little disorganized this morning,” he explains, helping the other up who just dusts himself off.

„It’s fine, don’t worry. I wasn’t paying attention either,” he answers with a small voice, not even looking up which slightly makes Taehyung frown.

„Is everything okay? I haven’t seen you around here before,” he says. He has a lot of employees, but he hired all of them personally so he remembers all of them even if it’s just their faces and not the names.

„I came here for an interview but that very nice assistant told me they’re not looking for broke college students with no experience,” letting out a sarcastic laugh he finally looks up and realizes who’s standing there in front of him. „Aren’t you Kim Taehyung? Fuck, I’m so sorry,”

„Yes, I am. And I should be the one apologizing again. I never thought any of my employees would be able to say such a thing. But, I have an offer for you. Want to come back to my office with me so we can talk about it more comfortably?” Taehyung asks, and the other just nods. „What’s your name, by the way?”

„Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook,” he answers, smiling.

„Nice to meet you, Jungkook. On our way there, please show me the worker who told you that stuff, please.” Taehyung asks, and Jungkook can’t help but feel a little anxious. He isn’t usually the one to betray others but this time he just wanted to let things out. He didn’t think he’d pour his heart out to the boss.

He points at some employee’s table whom Taehyung knows by face. He doesn’t really know what she’s doing here but remembers her when he hired her a few months ago. She seemed nice back then and well-skilled for the job. However, Taehyung doesn’t want to pay someone’s bills who can’t even respect other people, be they younger or older, man or woman.

„Do you want to make an interview now or why did you call me here?” Jungkook asks, visibly stiff as Taehyung takes a seat and motions him to do the same on the other side of the table.

„No, I mean… not exactly,” he answers, stretching the back of his head and suddenly he just wants to cry out for help to Jimin. He didn’t think this through. He just made a very impulsive decision when he heard that Jungkook is just a college student who tries to work to probably not only rely on his parents and be a little more independent.

„I’m sorry, I’m not sure I understand what’s going on now,” Jungkook says, a confused but somehow comforting smile displayed on his face.

„I’ll be honest with you because I have no idea how to put this in words in another way,” the older says, taking a deep breath before continuing. „My friend came here the other day with the idea I should have a sugar baby since I love spoiling others and I have a lot of money I will probably never need. I don’t know anything about you or your backstory but you said you came here for a job and you are a university student. I know how hard it can be to balance work and your studies so this would be much easier. I’m not expecting anything in return. I mean, you don’t have to have sex with me or send me pictures like that. We can be friends or something and I’ll happily just spoil you,” Taehyung explains everything in a hurry, not even looking at the younger until he finishes.

„So you just want to give me money for… nothing?” Jungkook asks, confused because this is not what he knows about a sugar daddy – sugar baby relationship.

„Yeah, we can say it like that. If you ever need something, anything just feel free to ask for it. Really. Do you need a new phone? Got it. Do you want a Rolex? Got it. Just tell me. And I’d give you a weekly allowance, so you won’t have to worry about your rent or anything else anymore.” he explains, a smile on his face now as he watches Jungkook’s jaw literally drop.

„This sounds kind of unbelievable, honestly. That you don’t want anything in exchange.”

„I’d be happy if we can be friends, but I don’t have time for a relationship. So yeah, it might be confusing, but I really don’t want anything in return.”

„Okay,” Jungkook murmurs. „I mean, I’d be happy to be your friend, even without the money, and I also don’t really have time for a complicated relationship since my studies are the priority now,” he explains making Taehyung smile and somehow a little proud.

„We need to sign a contract though where we state everything important about this situation. But you can back off anytime, that’s for sure. All right?”

„Okay, fine for me,” he chuckles, standing up and holding out his hand which Taehyung gladly accepts to shake. „Wow, I can’t believe you’re going to be my sugar daddy and pay for my daily take-outs.”

„Eat a little healthier now that you’ll have money, Jungkook” Taehyung rolls his eyes, giggling as Jungkook suddenly gets a little excited.

„Okay, daddy,” he says, picking up his bag, ready to leave. „Oh, let me give you my number so you can call me back to sign the contract.”

„Good idea. And until then, here’s my card.” he hands one of his cards to Jungkook who’s literally standing there and accepting it speechless.

„For real? I can spend as much as I want?” he asks, bewildered and a little unsure about this yet.

„Well, that card has a limit but as long as you don’t buy a yacht with that, you’ll be fine so sure, go and buy something first as a sugar baby,” Taehyung laughs, playfully winking at the other.

„Unbelievable,” he mumbles, waving at Taehyung one more time before leaving the office for now.

Taehyung sighs and sits back in his chair with a shocked face. He can’t believe what he’s just done. In a span of a second, he changed his whole life and Jungkook’s too. He has no idea where this will lead them but he can tell that Jungkook is a nice boy and a good person so he knows his money will be in good hands.

I have a sugar baby. hahaha – he texts Jimin and not even a minute later his phone rings, demanding him to spill everything immediately.

Things go smoothly as they meet up a few days later to sign the contract which includes everything about their new relationship. They decided to meet in a restaurant and not in the office since Jungkook wanted this to be a little more personal and not act like some work-related deal. The day he went back to his apartment after meeting Taehyung, he wasted no time looking up the older one on the internet to be a little more familiar with him. It’d be a lie to say he wasn’t surprised when he found out he has a son.

After signing the contract Jungkook insisted they’d stay for a little bit longer to get to know each other. He knows very well none of them wants anything more than a simple friendship, but to get there, they need to know the other. He also asked about Taehyung’s son, the letter getting a little worked up over the topic since he immediately thought the younger would have some problem with him being a father.

Nevertheless, Taehyung told him the story of his kid and how he found out that he was a dad. He also made sure Jungkook realizes that no matter how close they get to each other through the time they’ll spend together, his son will forever be number one.

A few weeks pass by as Jungkook keeps getting spoiled by Taehyung. The older thought this situation would be awkward, or even embarrassing – but not at all. He actually finds it quite exciting and he’s pretty good at being a sugar daddy.

One thing Jungkook gets to know for sure is that Taehyung really has plenty of money.

No matter if it’s just for some notes or new clothes, Taehyung is there, ready to spend thousands.

You can’t blame him, though. Taehyung noticed his favorite thing about spoiling Jungkook is the adorable smile he wears whenever he buys him something. Jungkook always acts like it’s the first time Taehyung spends money on him, thanking him and inviting him over for lunch or dinner – which he pays for with his own money – after their shopping sessions, making sure Taehyung knows how grateful he is for everything.

They got really close. Very close to calling it just a simple friendship or sugar daddy-sugar baby relationship.

„Hyung!” Jungkook almost yells into the phone when Taehyung picks it up, ready to tell him about his last exam which he successfully passed.

„Is there anything wrong, Jungkook? This is really not the perfect time now, I’m sorry,” he answers, Jungkook is quite taken aback and not only because of the wording but how worried Taehyung sounds.

„What’s wrong, hyung?” Jungkook asks, already packing up his stuff ready to go wherever Taehyung is to help him.

„Jiho fell in the playground and he has no severe injuries, fortunately, but he’s crying non-stop and I ran out of ideas on how to calm him down,” he explains and now that Jungkook listens more carefully, he can hear the little boy crying in the background.

„Can I come?” silence welcomes the younger one for a few seconds before he hears a deep sigh. „I know you said your son is off-limits and everything but I think I’m pretty good with kids and I’m worried now, hyung, so please,” he begs, seated in his car already, waiting patiently for an answer from the other side.

„I’ll send you the location in text,” he sighs. „Drive safe!”

„I’ll be there soon, thank you, Taehyung!” he says, putting the address in the navigation system and driving off.

True to his words, Jungkook arrives at the sent location in less than ten minutes, probably breaking a few traffic rules on his way. But he couldn’t care less about them right then and there. He gets out of his car and for a second he stands there still in his place, looking around with wide eyes. He assumed that Taehyung lives in a big, fancy house, but didn’t think it’d be like an actual castle. This house looks larger than his whole apartment complex and he wonders how did he even get here.

He shakes off his thoughts as he gets closer to the door where the housekeeper – he thinks – is already opening the door for him.

„Mr. Kim is in the living room with his son,” she tells him, pointing to the right and Jungkook feels oddly grateful for the direction otherwise he’d have gotten lost. He quickly takes off his shoes and puts everything down in the hall, then heads to the living room.

Taehyung is found there with a very stressed look on his face as he watches another man trying to calm down his crying son.

„Hello,” Jungkook murmurs, catching everyone – even the little one – off for a second. However, the kid quickly goes back to crying, throwing his toys at the unfamiliar man.

„Jiho, please, don’t throw your things at me. Do you want me to get hurt?” and that was a bad thing to say at the moment.

„No, sorry, uncle Jimin,” he sniffs as he starts crying even harder, Jimin earning an ugly look from Taehyung.

„Hi there, little one,” Jungkook says as he kneels down on the ground to be on the same level as Jiho. „My name is Jungkook, what’s your name, baby?”

„Jiho,” he answers politely while wiping his nose with his fingers.

„Wait, let me help you,” Jungkook says as he picks up Jiho to make him sit on his legs, pulling out a tissue from his pockets and wiping his nose and face properly.

„Can I call you Koo?” he looks up at him with big, teary eyes and Jungkook has to physically stop himself from cooing.

„Of course, baby. Now, can you please tell Koo why are crying?” he asks carefully, looking at Taehyung from the corner of his eyes to make sure he’s not doing anything wrong.

„I fell,” he pouts.

„Did you get hurt anywhere, baby? You can show me where it hurts,” Taehyung is now on full alert, ready to fight every single doctor if they missed something on his son when they examined him.

„No,” he quickly shakes his head and they all let out a sigh. „I just made daddy worried and I also ripped my shirt,” he explains, fidgeting with his fingers. Jungkook looks at him a little confused because he can’t believe Jiho was crying over a shirt. A shirt. His father would be able to buy the whole brand of that shirt probably if he wanted to.

„Why is this shirt so special to you, baby?”

„Because I got it from daddy and he always said it’s his favorite but now I ruined it,” he says, his lips wobbling again but Jungkook quickly reacts as he cups the little boy’s face in his hands.

„I’m sure your daddy isn’t mad at you because of the shirt, so please don’t cry anymore, baby,”

„Why does he look so mad then?” he looks at his dad who quickly softens his features as he also sits down on the floor next to them and starts patting Jiho’s head.

„I was just worried, sweetheart. I thought you got hurt somewhere. I loved that shirt, yes, but you still have a lot which are my favorites so nothing bad happened,” Taehyung explains, and Jiho climbs over Jungkook to hug his father.

„Sorry for making you worried, daddy,” he says, hugging his father tightly who can only chuckle and give him a few kisses on his head.

Jimin stands up, pulling Jungkook with himself as they leave the room to give the father-son duo some privacy. He leads the younger to the kitchen and asks one of the maids to make them some tea and also the chef to start getting ready for dinner. Jungkook isn’t even surprised anymore that Taehyung has maids and even a personal chef. He’s a billionaire after all.

„So, what’s your secret?” Jimin asks when they get their teas.

„Huh?” Jungkook questions back, not sure what Jimin is referring to.

„We tried everything, we tried talking to him, asked him what’s wrong, gave him his toys, turned on his favorite show. Nothing worked. Then you appeared and boom, calmness,” he explains, exaggerating the situation a little, making Jungkook smile.

„I think I’m just simply good with kids,” he giggles, Jimin’s rolling his eyes. „I guess it was because he didn’t know me. And you know how new things and people can be interesting for kids so of course I caught his attention,”

„Still,” he whines, sipping on his tea a little envious of Jungkook now. „I’m his favorite uncle,”

„Figured,” he laughs. „Anyways, I’m Jeon Jungkook,” he says as he suddenly remembers he never properly introduced himself to the man.

„I know. Park Jimin,” he shakes the other’s hand. „So how’s the whole sugar baby thing going?”

„Pardon?” Jungkook nearly chokes on his tea when he registers what Jimin just asked.

„I was the one suggesting it to Taehyung, duh. And I’m his best friend, I know everything,”

„It’s going well, I think. I mean, we’re friends now, I don’t really care about the money anymore,” he shrugs his shoulders as he says, making Jimin smirk but before he can say anything else Taehyung enters the kitchen.

„Thank you,” he mumbles to Jungkook with a tired but somehow happy smile on his face, picking up a cup of tea and joining them by the table.

„No problem, I’m glad I could help,” he smiles. „Where’s he now?”

„Sleeping. He got tired from crying literally all day,”

„That’s understandable, honestly,” Jimin says, finishing his tea. „Anyways, I have to go now to a meeting. But I’ll need to talk to you later,” he points at Taehyung who has a confused look on his face.

„I’ll walk him out, just a second,” he tells Jungkook when he stands up with Jimin. The letter waves at Jungkook as a goodbye and walks out of the room raising an eyebrow while he looks at Taehyung. „What?”

„You like him soooo much,”

„Jimin. Don’t be an idiot, please,” he states. „He’s my friend and sugar baby.”

„Be in denial as long as you want to but you should’ve seen your face when he was comforting Jiho,” Jimin explains seriously. „You looked at him so fondly I felt like I was disturbing something,” he laughs.

„I do not have time for a relationship, and neither does he, Jimin. So get this out of your head, please.” he rolls his eyes, opening the door for him.

„One month, Taehyung. I’m giving you a month before you’ll come to me that you guys are dating,” he says, fetching his car keys from the holder, and stepping out of the house. Taehyung doesn’t even answer, just closes the door without a word and goes back to Jungkook, not even thinking about what Jimin was talking about.

However, a few days later those words come back to his mind for some reason. He thinks about what Jimin said. The way Jungkook was able to calm down his son in a span of a second. The way Jungkook was so gentle with him. The way Jungkook wasted no time to go there when he needed his support.

Taehyung knows it’s not right. He doesn’t have time for a relationship. He can’t even risk neglecting his son because of a partner. Deep down in his heart, he knows this would never happen, especially because even Jungkook knows Jiho is the most important to him.

It happened on a Sunday afternoon, a week later the little incident, when Jungkook asked Taehyung if he can come over to visit Jiho. Not to visit or hang out with him, but with his son.

At some point, he felt a little unsure about this, but since he always puts his phone on speaker mode when he’s on a call at home, his son heard the famous Koo’s voice and Taehyung’s unable to say no to his son’s bambi eyes. He agreed.

Jungkook came over with a picnic basket, ready to go out with Jiho to the backyard. He barely even looked in Taehyung’s direction. He was there for Jiho, and Jiho only. Taehyung watched them go out in the backyard, putting down a blanket with bunnies on it. Jungkook opened the basket, taking out some strawberries, pancakes, and all kinds of little sweets.

Taehyung didn’t even realize when he started smiling, but he definitely did as he watched them playing in the yard after being done with their little picnic date.

Looking at them, he felt at ease. He felt at peace. Like everything is where it’s supposed to be.

Jungkook once looked back, waving at Taehyung with the wildest and most honest smile he’s ever seen someone wear.

Taehyung’s heart did a thing. And it wasn’t good. Not for him.

Not for someone who dedicated his whole life to his son. Who swore he’d never have someone in case it’d end and hurt his son’s feelings. Not for someone who never ever in his life prioritized anything over his son – not even his business.

He shakes his head, heading back to the house to his home office to get some work done. It’s only an hour later when he notices he left his son all alone with Jungkook. It even took Jimin years to let him alone with Jiho. But Jungkook, just like this, earned his trust so easily that it only took a week.

Taehyung feels like this isn’t right. He’s getting too comfortable having Jungkook around and he shouldn’t. People come and go – he knows that. He shouldn’t feel this way, not towards Jungkook, not towards anyone.

That day, he hugs Jungkook as he says goodbye.

It’s been almost two weeks since then and he hasn’t seen Jungkook. They talked, of course, they did, but Taehyung tried to keep it professional. He only answered when he sent Jungkook his weekly allowance and asked him a couple of times if he needed anything else.

Jungkook found it oddly weird. Especially in the first few days. He knows Taehyung is not the best texter, he’s far away from that, but he’s never been so dry to him. At first, he thought he did something bad and he asked Taehyung but the answer was always the same – no.

Still, ever since he paid a visit to their house Taehyung’s been acting differently and he doesn’t like it. Not at all.

„Hello, I’m here to see Mr. Kim,” he says to the receptionist as he decided to surprise visit Taehyung at the office in order to talk things out. He can’t let this go on like this anymore.

„Do you have an appointment?” the woman behind the desk asks.

„No. But I’m his friend, I just wanted to know if he’s free right now actually,” he smiles.

„Yes, he’s in his room,” the woman says, giving him a card to officially enter the building.

Jungkook goes straight to Taehyung’s office, not wanting to waste any second about solving the current situation.

„Jungkook? What are you doing here? Did something happen?” Taehyung stands up worriedly as Jungkook nearly storms into his room.

„Figured I should just come to you if you don’t want to answer my texts or calls anymore,” he presses his lips into a thin line, eyeing Taehyung who’s very bewildered.

„What are you talking about?” he laughs, a little uncomfortable by the sudden confrontation.

„What’s wrong with you, hyung? Did I do something wrong? Did I say something bad or what?” Jungkook asks, eagerly waiting for an answer.

„No, of course not,” he sighs, not sure how to deal with the sudden outburst.

„Then what’s going on Taehyung? I thought we were friends or even something more and you just started ignoring me out of nowhere,”

„What do you mean something more?” Taehyung asks, fearing the answer, especially when he sees the disappointment crossing Jungkook’s eyes.

„Unbelievable,” he murmurs, letting out a sarcastic laugh.

„Jungkook, we signed a contract. A contract saying this is nothing more than a sugar daddy-baby relationship,” the older states strictly, raising his voice a little. Jungkook flinches as he looks at Taehyung, not believing his ears.

„We already broke it, hyung. We broke it when you started questioning me about my day or when I invited you over to my apartment for lunch or dinner. Don’t tell me you never thought anything more into this whole situation than it was said to be.”

„Neither of us has time for a relationship, Jungkook. We should keep it strictly professional from now on, in my opinion,” Taehyung says, sitting down and suggesting that the conversation ends here.

„Then keep your fucking money to yourself as well,” Jungkook spits out as he puts down the card and car keys he got from Taehyung on his desk before leaving the office and almost running out of the building, not even looking back.

Taehyung sits there, unable to move or even blink as he stares at the stuff Jungkook just put on his table. And this is the moment he realizes two things.

One, Jungkook doesn’t care about his money. At all.

Two, he fucked up.

Almost a month goes by with no contact being made between them. Jungkook is a fierce one. Although Taehyung (kind of) broke his heart, he’s rather just mad, not sad. And stubborn. His friends suggested he should try to text him or call him, maybe even go and see him in person to talk things out and solve their unsaid problems but Jungkook always said no. He knows it would be pretty easy to solve things, but he’s scared. He fears he wouldn’t get the answer he wants to hear if he tries to confront Taehyung once again.

Meanwhile, Taehyung acts like a teenager. After waking up from the shock which Jungkook caused by storming out of his office, he immediately canceled every meeting he had scheduled for that day and headed straight home after picking up his son from Jimin’s house.

Ever since then, he barely left his house. He decided to work from home, not even risking bumping into Jungkook on the streets. He can’t face him. He’d break down the minute he sees him.

It was the other day when Jimin decided that he had had enough of watching his best friend slowly destroying himself both mentally and physically. He visited Taehyung and sat him down for a good old best friend talk, trying to make him realize his true feelings.

However, it wasn’t as easy as Jimin thought it’d be. The letter knows Taehyung’s most important person is his son in his life. And it turned out to be really difficult to convince him that having a partner doesn’t necessarily mean he’s going to neglect his son. Both of them know Taehyung would never ever do that intentionally, he’s still scared he’d do it unintentionally.

It took almost three hours for Jimin when Taehyung finally said the three magic words and admitted his feelings towards the younger.

„I like Jungkook,” he says, not even believing his own words and Jimin lets out a deep sigh.

„I know, Taehyung,” he answers, trying to be as patient as he could.

„Jimin, I messed it up so badly. I don’t think he wants to see me ever again, honestly. I just pushed him away and literally ghosted him after giving him signals,” Taehyung whines, resting his head on Jimin’s lap.

„You’re so wrong for that. However, I don’t think he wouldn’t want to see you. Be a man and figure out something to woo him over again. You did it once, you can do it again. And please, stop worrying about Jiho. First of all, Jungkook loves him, and he also loves his Koo so much already. Jungkook is a great guy, so once you start dating, I don’t think he’ll ever leave you, just don’t be an idiot. You deserve happiness, Tae, and you need to have someone to love. I know you have Jiho, your parents and of course, you have me, but having a lover, a partner is different. Jiho’s been always the priority, which is okay, but you need to live and have someone by your side. And, in my opinion, Jungkook would be the best as that someone,”

Taehyung is very close to pissing his pants right now as he waits in front of the door of Jungkook’s apartment after knocking exactly twice. The softest knocks you’d ever hear.

„’m coming” he hears from the other side of the door and barely a second later the door swings open, revealing Jungkook who looks like he’s just seen a ghost. „Huh?”

„Hello,” Taehyung says, standing there awkwardly as he swings back and forth on his feet. „Can I please come in?”

„Why?” Jungkook asks, crossing his arms in front of his chest, trying his hardest to not look at the bouquet of flowers Taehyung is holding.

„I want to talk,” the older answers simply, trying to build up some confidence as he forgot everything he wanted to say to the younger. He practiced for hours this morning, yet he can’t remember a word of it. „Pretty please,”

„Come in,” Jungkook sighs, standing out of the door and letting the older in.

„What are these boxes, Jungkook?” Taehyung looks around the apartment, furrowing his eyebrows at the view as he can see plenty of boxes and empty shelves in the living room.

„I’m moving soon,” he mumbles, heading to the kitchen.

„What? Why? Where?” he asks, confusion taking over the whole situation.

„This flat is too expensive to maintain on my own and I couldn’t get a job,” he explains, pouring out a cup of tea for his guest.

„You’ve got to be kidding me now, Jungkook. Seriously? Are you really that stubborn?” Taehyung asks, unbelieving the boy.

„Did you expect me to go back to you and ask you to pay for my fucking rent after you made it crystal clear you don’t want anything from me?” he puts down the tea on the table. „No, Taehyung. I’m not that cheap if you haven’t figured out that yet.”

„It’s not about that, Jungkook. I know you aren’t cheap. I never even supposed that,” he sighs, stepping closer to the other while putting down the flowers next to the cup on the table. Jungkook watches as Taehyung moves, not stopping him, letting him step right in front of him. „I’m sorry I made you think that. I’m sorry for everything. I was a coward. It was never my intention to hurt you, Jungkook,” he starts explaining, looking into his eyes and he can see how hurt he actually is now. Taehyung takes a deep breath before sliding his arm around Jungkook’s waist, feeling euphoric when Jungkook lets him. „I deeply want to apologize for everything I told you that day. I never had anyone since Jiho came into my life, always scared to even if just unintentionally but I’d neglect him. I want to give my son everything and he’s my number one. But as days went by and Jimin sat me down for a talk, I realized I can have two people at the number one spot. Actually, I had it already, just decided to be in denial,” he chuckles, trying to ease the tension and thankfully, it works.

„You really hurt me that day, Taehyung. Talking to me about not breaking the contract when you were the one who broke it the first time you accidentally called one of our shopping spares a date,” he rolls his eyes and it just makes Taehyung feel more shameful. „I’d never want to take over your son. Gosh, it hurts to even think that you thought I’d ever want to replace him. I do not.”

„I know. And it’s not that. I’m just scared that sooner or later one of you will get hurt because I won’t be able to take care of both of you properly,” he shares his struggles.

„We’re going to take care of Jiho. The both of us, together if you want us to,”

„Aren’t you a little too young to raise a child, huh?” Taehyung smiles, caressing Jungkook’s waist.

„I’m almost 26, Taehyung” he answers, smacking the other’s chest playfully and leaving his hand there.

„I’m sorry, again,” Taehyung states, seriously.

„I know. I should’ve been more patient, too. I’m sorry for that,” Jungkook smiles, leaning a little closer.

Taehyung puts their foreheads together, looking into the younger’s eyes which finally shine again the same way they shined whenever they spent time together before all the drama happened. He smiles, bringing up his free hand to slide it on Jungkook’s face, caressing the skin a little before closing his eyes and also the small distance they had between their lips.

Jungkook sighs into the kiss, pulling Taehyung even closer by crossing his arms around his neck. Taehyung smiles, not breaking the kiss yet as he picks up Jungkook and puts him on the counter to be able to make out with him correctly.

„So I guess we’re okay now, aren’t we?” Taehyung asks as he pulls back, resting his hands on Jungkook’s thighs.

„Of course we are,” he giggles, playing with the older’s hair.

----------

„Why the fuck do you have so much stuff, Jungkook?” Jimin whines, and quickly earns a smack on the head from Taehyung.

„No swearing in front of my son, you idiot,” Jimin could only roll his eyes at him as he picks up one more box to take it inside of the house.

„And you, Mr. Rich CEO? Why couldn’t you just hire someone to do this? My back hurts,” he mutters.

„Because I told him not to,” Jungkook answers, blowing a kiss in Jimin’s direction before taking the last bag out of his car and heading to the house. „Hello, baby, did you have a good nap?” quickly putting down the bag he picks up Jiho and goes to the kitchen where the chef is already setting the table for them.

„Yes, but Uncle Jimin loves to complain a lot, he woke me up,” he pouts, giving him a dirty look.

„I’m starting to feel like he loves you more than me as days go by,” Jimin says, crossing his arms but Jungkook can only chuckle and hug Jiho closer to himself.

Taehyung enters the room, ruffling his son’s hair as he takes a seat next to Jungkook, placing his hand on the other’s thigh. They don’t even notice it anymore, it’s normal now, but Jimin of course has to roll his eyes as he mumbles out – disgusting.

They have dinner while listening to Jiho’s story about the dream he just had. All three of them listen to him carefully, not even faking their interest and the fond smile they all have on their faces.

Finishing dinner, Jimin bids them goodbye since he still has some work to do at home. Both Jungkook and Taehyung thank him for helping them with the packing before closing the door behind him.

„When do you want to pack things out?” Taehyung asks, trying to catch his boyfriend’s attention but fails. Jungkook is way too immersed now in helping Jiho to paint.

The older watches them, the softest look displayed on his face. He can’t believe he almost threw all of this away just because he was scared.

After their first kiss, they sat down and talked through all of Taehyung’s worries and even Jungkook had some when it came to literally becoming a parent. They decided to take things slowly at first and not announce their blossoming relationship to anyone yet.

They went on a couple of dates, getting to know each other even more. Having their first sleepover, and then spending the night together tangled up in Jungkook’s bed.

It happened two months ago when Taehyung finally mustered up his courage and decided to ask Jungkook to be his boyfriend, breaking their contract officially. The younger, without a doubt, answered with a yes, hugging him tightly and kissing him senselessly.

After that, things got quickened up a little bit. Introducing one another to the parents and also to their friends. And also, telling Jiho that his daddy is in a relationship. The little one started to act all tough at first, demanding his father to introduce him to them so he can make sure they treat his daddy right but this lasted until Taehyung told him he was dating none other than Jungkook. Since then the little boy can’t stop talking about his Koo.

Moving in together wasn’t in the plan but fate kind of had a different plan when Jungkook’s landlord came into his apartment saying that he sold the flat. Jungkook was pissed, to say the least, but he couldn’t do anything. Although Taehyung said that he can buy it for him if he really wants to stay there, Jungkook didn’t want to give that man even more money so he was quick to decline his boyfriend’s offer.

That’s when this incredibly dumb idea crossed Taehyung’s mind – to move into his house.

Jungkook was a little bit skeptical about it at first, not sure whether it was a great idea after only dating for a few weeks. However, he knew that it’d happen eventually, so why not now?

He agreed. And here they are now, packing his things out in Taehyung’s – their – house.

Their relationship is better than anyone could ever wish for. They raise Jiho, a beautiful and smart boy, together while Jungkook soon finishes his studies and Taehyung keeps his company on top. All these things they have to pay attention to, but still – they never forget about each other.

The little surprise gifts Taehyung gets his boyfriend after getting home from a business trip. The dates Jungkook takes his lover on when Jiho wants to spend time with his grandparents or uncles. The lunchbox Jungkook prepares for the other every morning – and even after 3 years, he does it with the same enthusiasm and love he did when they were only dating for a few days.

Just like every other couple, they also have their ups and downs from time to time, but they never let those silly little disagreements get between them. Because their love is stronger. Their love and bond are stronger than anything.

And maybe, that’s because they found love in the most unexpected way.
