"It's called testing the merchandise," Chikai's voice strains after taking a short drag.
"You always tell me not to test it." Toi returns, reprimanding his brother for double-standards; something he notices Chikai has a long list of.
Chikai waves Toi closer, still holding his breath another moment. Toi obeys, leaning up on his knees next to his older brother on the couch and Chikai's hand quickly wraps around the nape of Toi's neck to drag him in the rest of the way and press their mouths together.
The warm smoke pushes past Toi's lips and fills his lungs when it triggers an inhale. Soon Chikai's tongue follows with such a sense of confidence and normalcy that Toi simply lets himself give in. Smoke plumes from his nostrils and he means to meet Chikai’s tongue with his own, but a cough breaks in his throat. When he pulls away, he notices his brother wearing a shitty little smirk.
“Only under my close supervision.”
Toi tries to click his tongue in response, but another cough weakens the effect and Chikai just laughs his husky laugh. Freckled cheeks redden with slight embarrassment, but it doesn’t stop Toi from pressing against his brother’s chest.
“Forget the pot, just kiss me again,” Toi mumbles, thumbing the collar of Chikai’s loose shirt collar.
The joint smolders after Chikai crushes the cherry into the glass of the ashtray, choosing instead, for this moment, to focus on his little brother. It’s rare for them to be able to have some peace together, no doubt it will be broken again soon with no hint of when they could have this again. Funny, how cute Toi can be when Chikai knows the amount of ruthlessness he is capable of. He likes that about him and likes knowing the lengths Toi is willing to go for him.
Toi is rewarded with a kiss, that hand against his neck still holding firm, guiding and perhaps a bit possessive. And Toi could live with that – everything he does is for Chikai, afterall – to keep close in whatever way his brother will allow for as long as this can last.
