Chapter Text
Usually when people get to see the number one hero school in the world, they’re filled with awe and wonder. Under normal circumstances I would feel such a way as well, but unfortunately that isn’t the case.
It’s been a couple months since the attack Sokovia. My brother, Pietro, nearly died in the process… trying to protect me. For some reason, our parents decided it would be a great idea to send me to school abroad, so here I am at the gates of U.A high school.
I make my way to the Principal’s office where I am greeted by a mouse, bear thing and tired looking man with shoulder length black hair. Probably sensing the confusion on my face, the animal in front of me begins to introduce himself.
”Hello. You must be Wanda Maximoff, it’s nice to meet you. I am Principal Nedzu and this is your homeroom teacher, Aizawa Shota, aka Eraserhead.” He says rather eloquently.
A bit lost for words, I just mumble a shy “Nice to meet you, too.”
“I will let Aizawa show you around and introduce you to your new classmates.”
With that, Aizawa leads me out of the building and into the Heights Alliance building where my class’ dorms are.
When we step into the building, Aizawa states:”Alright hellspawn, listen up. We have a new addition to our class, make sure you treat her nicely and be respectful.” He says glaring at few students in particular before turning to me. “If you ever need me for anything the teacher dorms are the building to your left.”
I answer him with a nod and he then turns to a green haired boy with freckles, “Problem child, show he around and make her feel welcome, please.”
”Yes, sensei!” The green bean says.
“Hi! My name is Midoriya Izuku, welcome to Class 1A!” He says enthusiastically.
”Thanks, I’m Wanda Maximoff.”
“Do you want to meet the rest of class?”
”Sure.” I replied.
Some members of the class had already come up to us while we were talking and by the time I turned to face the rest of the class there was a blonde with a black lighting bolt in his hair, a rather rigid guy with navy blue hair and glasses, a tall girl with a black ponytail and a guy with spiky red hair standing in front of me.
“Hey, name's Kaminari Denki.” The blonde guy says.
”I am Iida Tenya, nice to meet you. As class president, it is my pleasure to welcome you into our class.” The guy with glasses introduces whilst making chopping motions with his arm.
”I’m Yaoyurozu Momo, I’m the vice president of our class. Nice to meet you.” The ponytail girl says politely.
”Hey, I'm Kirishima Eijirou.” The spiky redhead says with a wide grin.
”Hey guys, I’m Wanda Maximoff.” I answer them all at once.
Midoriya then goes around the room naming all the members of the class, all giving either a smile or a nod of acknowledgement in return.
”I’ll show you to your room now, if you want.” Midoriya said.
”Yeah, thanks.” I answered.
As we were walking, Midoriya talked me what the schedule for our lessons would be and what we would be doing tomorrow.
”If you ever need anything or you have any questions, my room is on the 3rd floor.” He assured me.
”Thank you.” I replied.
When I entered my room, I could see that my luggage had already arrived. In order to clear my head, I began unpacking all my stuff and by the time I was done there was a knock on my door.
”Come in!” I yelled.
”I just came to tell you that dinner is ready.” Midoriya said, poking his head through the door.
”Oh, thanks.” I replied. He nodded his head and left.
I made my way downstairs to the common room and in the room adjacent was the kitchen where everyone was sat down at the table. I took a seat between Midoriya and Kirishima and with that everyone dug in. As we were eating, Kirishima spoke up.
”So Wanda, where are you from?”
”I’m from a small country in Eastern Europe called Sokovia.” I answered.
”Cool, what’s it like there?” He asked, curiosity shining in his eyes.
”It used to be calm and beautiful…” I responded, eyes already misting over at the mention of my home country.
But before Kirishima could ask any further questions, Iida stood up and announced.
”Alright class, I suggest we all get to bed now, we still have lessons tomorrow.” I made my way to the Kitchen to put away my bowl. Just as I was heading back to my room, I was stopped by a girl with pink hair and skin.
”Hey, Ashido.” I greeted.
”Please just call me Mina, anyway, me and the other girls are having a sleepover in my dorm tomorrow and I want you to join us!” She said enthusiastically.
”Sure, sounds like fun.”
”Great, see you tomorrow!” And with that she took off to her dorm room.
_____________
As I lay in bed, I let the events of the day wash over me and wonder what my official first day would be like.

After making sure I had all my stuff for the school day, I sat down at the dresser to brush my hair. As the bristles glide through my light brown curls, I let my thoughts consume me…
Images of my parents, brother and I having picnics in our local park, eating dinner together, watching movies slowly fade into screams of terror and anguish as our home is destroyed. The almost lifeless image of my brother flashes across my mind followed by an explosion of red which snaps me out of my trance. A single tear rolls down my cheek at the unfortunate memory.
I quickly wipe it away and force myself to think of something else to distract me. My thoughts finally settle on the classmates I met yesterday that seemed eager to meet me. Midoriya I understand as Aizawa asked him to show me around. Iida and Yaoyurozu are understandable too, they’re the president and vice president of the class so it makes sense that they’d want to introduce themselves. Kaminari, from what I’ve observed, just seems like and excitable person.
Kirishima, on the other hand, seemed genuinely interested in meeting and getting to know me. Mina also seemed to what to get to know me as well. It’s been a while since someone other than my parents showed an actual interest in me.
I grabbed my backpack and made my way down to the kitchen for some breakfast. When I got there, I saw Kirishima talking with a guy with spiky blonde hair and a seemingly permanent scowl. Bakugou, my memory supplied.
”Morning Wanda!” Kirishima greeted.
”Morning.” I replied.
”Class starts in about half an hour, wanna walk with me?” He asked with a smile.
“Sure.” I said with a small smile.
“Oi, hair for brains, we're having that study session tonight. Don’t need you falling behind.” Bakugou yelled after us.
”Thanks, Bakubro! See you in class.”
”Yeah, whatever.”
I could tell that Bakugou really did care for is friends, despite his gruff exterior.
”So…”, Kirishima started, “I’m guessing Midoriya told you about the schedule for today.”
“Yep, Homeroom then English, Maths, History, Lunch then Literature, Science and Hero training.” I said listing off the lessons of the day with a sigh.
”Cool, I promise that all the teachers are nice, so you shouldn’t have any problems.” He says reassuringly.
”Thanks.”
After a few moments of awkward silence, Kirishima hesitantly asked…
”So… about what we were talking about yesterday… at dinner.”
”What do you mean?” I asked raising an eyebrow.
”Well… you said that your home country used to be calm and beautiful. Is that not the case anymore? … You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to, I just wondering-” He rambled.
”-Kirishima, it's okay. About Sokovia… it was calm and beautiful until recently. My home country was attacked a few months ago.” I say not explaining any further.
“Oh, I’m so sorry Wanda, I didn’t mean to pry or make you uncomfortable.”
“It’s okay.”, I say quickly trying to change the topic, “Now, where's the classroom.”
“Umm, okay then. This way.”
When we get to the classroom, most of the class is there already there. I take my seat behind the boy with a crows head, Tokoyami, I think. By the time I sit down, Aizawa walks in.
”Morning, hellions.”
Suddenly, everyone who was standing and chatting, were in their seat and ready to learn. Aizawa made eye contact with me for a moment before speaking.
“As you already know, we have a new student with us so make sure to be respectful. Anyone who isn’t will be running laps after school. Am I clear?”
”Yes, sensei!” The class said in unison.
”Good.”
And with that Aizawa retreated into a gaudy yellow sleeping bag, reminding me of caterpillar. Then a tall man with long blonde hair and orange glasses walked in.
”Alright, listeners! Time for some English. Oh and before I forget, we have a new listener with us don’t we.” He says making eye contact with me.
”Hello, Wanda. I’m Yamada or Present Mic, nice to meet you.”
”Nice to meet you too.” I reply earning a smile in return.
”Now, let's get on with the lesson!”

Chapter Text
So far the school day has been pretty uneventful. At lunch I sat with Kirishima, Kaminari, Mina, Midoriya and Bakugou, as it turns out Midoriya and Bakugou are boyfriends, which at first surprised me but they’re actually really cute together. They seem to balance each other out.
Eventually, it was time for the last lesson of the day, Hero training. I don’t know whether to be excited or nervous but I’m determined to do well, I can’t afford to fall behind.
I made my way to the female changing room and opened the briefcase that held my hero costume. It was exactly what I had asked for but with a few additions that made it better than I imagined.
My costume consisted of a red head piece , a red bodice with black detailing and a train that went down to my knees, black leggings with utility pockets and red detailing and finally black boots that went up to my knees.

“ Wow, Wanda. I love your costume!” Uraraka says turning to me.
“Thanks, yours is really cool too.” I say giving her a small smile, earning a smile in return.
When we get to the training grounds, I realise that’s it resembles cityscape in the mini entrance exam I took. Before being admitted into UA, I had to take an entrance exam where I fought robots to gain points. I got 70 villain points.
When everyone arrived, Aizawa gave us the instructions for the lesson.
“Today we’ll be having one on one battles, but it will against an opponent that your quirk doesn’t combat easily. This is because as heroes, our quirks won’t alway work in our favour against the villains we face. The pairings are as follows:” He projected the pairings on a hologram screen.
Todoroki vs Bakugou
Midoriya vs Hagakure
Yaoyurozu vs Jirou
Kirishima vs Kaminari
Ayoyama vs Shinsou
Maximoff vs Sero
Iida vs Asui
Ojirou vs Uraraka
Tokoyami vs Ashido
Satou vs Shouji.
Instead of worrying over the one on one battles, I used this time to observer my classmates’ quirks and battle strategies. I noticed from Bakugou and Todoroki’s battle that Bakugou starts with a right hook and Todoroki uses ice attacks before fire.
As I was observing the match I felt someone come stand next to me. I look to my left to see Kirishima and Sero standing next to him.
“Hey Wanda, I like your hero costume.” He says with a bright smile.
”Oh really, thanks.” I say with a small smile.
”Yeah, it's kind of mysterious, it suits you.”
”Thanks.” I say, my smile widening slightly.
”Anyway, I was wondering if you wanted to know about the classes quirks, since you’re new here and all.”
”Sure, that would useful.”
”My quirk is hardening where I can make any part of my body as hard as a rock.” He said holding his hand out to demonstrate.
“Sero, here, can shoot tape out of his elbows.” He said gesturing to the boy standing next to him who gave me a small smile. Kirishima the went around the room talking about everyone’s quirks.
”Wow, everyone seems to have really cool quirks.” I say wondering about how I would fare against them in battle.
”Yeah, everyone is our class is really cool and have a really handle on their quirks.” Sero says.
”So Wanda, what’s your quirk?” Kirishima asks, curiosity shining in his eyes.
”Telekinesis.” I say not explaining any further.
“Oh that’s really cool.” Kirishima said with a wide grin.
”Yeah, Wanda, I bet that’s gonna really useful when we become pros.” Sero complimented.
Hearing their positivity about my quirk, despite all the heartache it's caused me, brought a genuine smile to my face. Ever since I was young, I don’t think my parents have ever been able to look at me he same way since my quirk in. I think that they only sent me to Japan so that they could finally be rid of me and so they could focus all their attention on Pietro, as if they didn’t do that already.
”Thanks guys.”
”Oh, Wanda. I think it's time for our match.” Sero says to me.
”Alight then, let’s do this.” I say, feeling determined.
As we’re leaving, I hear Kirishima call out.
“Good luck, guys!”

Sero and I make our way to the arena to begin our fight. Before we begin Aizawa-sensei says to us.
“Alright guys, you’re allowed to use your quirks and the first to pin the other for 3 seconds wins.” We both nod in reply. “Good. Start!”
As soon as Aizawa says that, Sero immediately tries to wrap me up in tape to immobilise me but before he gets the chance to follow up with another attack, the tape begins to unravel whilst being cloaked in a whispy red glow.
Using this as a distraction, I roundhouse kick Sero in the chest and use his own tape to wrap him up.
“Wanda Maximoff wins.” Announced Aizawa-sensei.
I use my quirk to peel the tape off of Sero.
“Woah. Wanda your quirk is even more impressive than I thought.” Sero said sheepishly.
“Thanks.” I say giving him a small smile.
When we get back to the observatory, I’m suddenly bombarded with excited shouting and questions.
“Guys! One at a time, you’re gonna overwhelm her.” Midoriya says to the class and I shoot him a small smile in gratitude.
“Wow, Wanda! Your quirk is so cool! What’s it called” Kaminari exclaimed, practically vibrating with excitement.
“Thanks. It’s called Telekinesis.”
“How come it has a red glow when you use it?” Mina asked, sparking the curiosity of the others as well.
I paused for a second before replying, “It’s just a side effect.” I say shrugging my shoulders. A well-practiced lie that I haven’t had to use in a long time. Thankfully, they bought it and we continued to watch the other matches and I could hear Midoriya muttering up a storm in the other corner of the room.
After the lesson finished, we all changed and headed back into the dorms. I lay in bed trying to process everything that happened on my first day of school. If only Pietro could see me now…
As soon as I finish that thought, I hear a knock at the the door.
“Come in!” I yell.
After that, the door opens to reveal Mina, wearing comfortable sleepwear.
“Hey Wanda! The sleepover in my dorm is starting soon. Come over when you’re ready.”
“Alright cool, be there in a bit” I say and she leaves.
As I'm packing my stuff, I check the time to see that it’s already 6 in the evening. I must have fallen asleep thinking about Pietro and my parents. I change into some comfy pyjamas, grab my stuff and head to Mina’s room.
“Hey guys.” I say entering the room to see Mina, Uraraka, Asui, Yaoyurozu, Jirou and Hagakure setting everything up.
“Hey Wanda!” Mina said enthusiastically, “Now that everyone is here, we can start.”
“What exactly are we doing?” I ask curiously, having never been to a sleepover before.
“We are going to do manicures and self-care then we are going to play games, watch movies and eat snacks.” Mina said all in one breath.
After that explanation, Mina put on some movie called Twilight and started putting a face mask on me and asked my me what colour nails I wanted. I said I wanted black and tried to understand what the movie was about.
As Mina was doing my nails, Asui asked me about my home country.
“Wanda, what’s Sokovia like? I heard that where you were before coming to Japan.” She said with a finger to her chin.
Trying to block out most of the bad memories, I reply “It usted to a really beautiful and peaceful place to live and loved being there but unfortunately, Sokovia was attacked by another country to use Sokovia for its resources and it hasn’t been the same since…”
I could feel the mood and morale of the evening drop significantly so I quickly added, “Don’t worry, things are slowly returning back to normal.” I said and gave them a smile of reassurance.
Mina quickly changed the topic onto something more exciting to talk about.
“So, did you guys hear about the date that Bakugou and Midoriya went on recently. They are so cute!”
This allowed the atmosphere to return to the lively energy it once carried.
“I only recently found out they were dating. It kinda surprised me at first but their dynamic really works out.” I say.
“I know, right? Like, blasty is really loud and intense whereas Midoriya is calm and friendly. They balance each other out perfectly.” Jirou added.
“Speaking of relationships, we should probably explain all the relationships in our class, so Wanda doesn’t get confused.” Hagakure said, before continuing to paint Uraraka’s nails a baby pink colour.
“Good idea, Toru!” Yaoyurozu said smiling wide.
“So, those currently in a relationship are Bakugou and Midoriya, Shinsou and Kaminari, Sero and Todoroki and Momo and Kyouka, and those who should be in a relationship but are too shy to confess are Tokoyami and Shouji, Ojirou and Hagakure and Uraraka and Iida” Mina explained.
At this both Hagakure and Uraraka started blushing and spluttering at Mina’s blunt accusation but didn’t elaborate further.
“Wow, so everyone else is single?” I question.
“Yep, Kirishima, Satou, Aoyama, Tsu and myself are all single.” Mina answered.
“I know you’ve only been here for 2 days but is there anyone you like Wanda?” Yaoyurozu asked.
“Umm…”

This question made think for a while, I’ve never gotten close enough to someone for feelings to develop. My parents made sure of that, the only person I was close to was Pietro but that was a given since he’s my twin.
“Umm, no. I’ve never had a crush on anyone before.” I mumble.
As soon as those words exit my mouth, I hear the most astonished gasp and look up to see all the girls staring at me wide-eyed.
“Wanda. So you mean to tell me that you’ve never had even the teeniest tiniest crush on anyone ever.” Mina said, the seriousness in her tone giving me whiplash.
“I was homeschooled as a kid so I never really got close to anyone outside my family.” I lie hoping that it sounded somewhat convincing.
“Well, I see that as both a blessing and a curse. You won’t have the anxiety of keeping it a secret but you also won’t be able to experience the fun of wondering what a relationship with that person would be like.” Yaoyurozu said.
“And we won’t be able to tease you about it.” Mina pouted. I chuckled at her antics and we continued to watch the movie.
After everyone’s manicures were finished and we finished the movie, we all decided to go head to bed. As I lay down, a sigh escapes my lips as I ponder the conversation we had earlier. Was the fact that I’ve never had a crush before that absurd. It would make more sense if I were actually homeschooled.
Memories drudged up from my childhood flash across my mind as I drifted of to sleep…
I was running through the park with Pietro by my side, each of us daring the other to see you would make to the park first.
As a 4 year old, my stubby little legs could only take me so far. Suddenly, a flash of light zooms past me and stops a few feet ahead of me. It was Pietro, my eyes widen and so do his. Then it dawns on me, it must be his quirk!
“Pietro, you got your quirk!” I shout in excitement.
I run up and hug him, as we celebrate his quirk coming in. That night, mama made his favourite dish to celebrate.
About two weeks later, we’re at the park and mama is sitting on a bench off to the side reading a book. Pietro is playing with some kids from nursery. I’m by myself at the swings when suddenly, a kid a few years older than me stands over me.
“Hey Wanda, go away. A little freak like you doesn’t deserve to go on swings.” He says earning a round of laughter from his mini goons behind him.
“No, it’s my turn on the swings. You can just use the other one.” I say trying to act defiant despite shaking like a leaf.
“What did you just say to me, freak.” He said edging closer to me.
“I-I said it’s m-my turn.” I say, tears already pooling in the corner of my eye.
With goading from his little followers, he pushed of the swing while taunting me.
“Right where freaks belong, in the dirt. That’ll teach ya!”
Tears stream down my face as I wonder what I did to make these kids hate me. This had been going for weeks and in a fit of anger and frustration, I yelled at the top of my lungs.
“I WISH YOU WOULD JUST STOP!” I shout. What I failed to realise was that as I yelled my hands started glowing red and my hair changed from it usual brown to a bright ginger.
When I opened my eyes again, I see almost everyone in park frozen. Silence rings throughout the area.
Noticing the sudden silence, the parents on the bench where mama was sitting take in their petrified surroundings. Pietro who was playing on the other side of the park rushes towards me.
“Wanda, what’s wrong. What happened?”
“I-I don’t k-know. I told them to s-stop but the didn’t a-and now-” I manage to get out through hiccuping sobs.
Out of the blue, one the adults rushes at us yelling and screaming but Pietro defends me.
“Hey, don’t yell at her! It wasn’t her fault!” He says defiantly.
After all the high emotions and the adrenaline running through my veins from panicking, everything fades to black.
When I wake up again, I find myself in a hospital bed, right arm chained to the railing. My parents call for the doctor to explain the situation.
“As you’ve probably guessed, Wanda’s meltdown triggered her quirk but I must warn you, it seems like a dangerous one to get under control.” He says in a monotonous voice.
“We’ve come to conclusion and named it ‘Chaos Magic’. Wanda’s powers include but aren’t limited to telekinesis, mind warping, reality shifting, teleportation and energy manipulation.” He says and my eyes widen.
Nothing was ever the same after that day. My parents could never look at me the same way. They started ignoring me and looking down on me. Stating that ‘I’m a curse and a burden on their lives.’ and that ‘it’s embarrassing to be around such a disgrace.’
From then on, I was forced to lie to everyone and say that my quirk was telekinesis, my parents had me on a strict regime so I would control my quirk because God forbid anyone ever find out what monstrosities I was capable of.
The only one who was there for me was Pietro…
I wake up to nudging me awake. As I open my eyes I see Yaoyurozu shaking me up.
“Morning Wanda, it’s time to get ready for class.” She says sending me a small smile.
“Morning.” I reply tiredly. Despite sleeping the whole night I felt just as tired as I did when I went to bed. No surprise there. I huff and roll out of bed.

It’s been a few weeks since the sleepover and as I sat down in homeroom, I couldn’t help but mull over the conversations we had. I feel as though I’ve been caught in a daze since then.
This faraway feeling I’ve had all this time has allowed me to realise a few things. I’ve realised that as much I love and take pride in belonging to my home country, I could probably count all the good experiences I’ve had there in one hand. As much as I miss Pietro, I don’t think I could ever bring myself to go back there, especially because of my parents.
While I don’t necessarily feel I belong at UA just yet or Japan in general, I don’t really have any other options so I’m going to do my best to fit in.
After that thought, Aizawa-Sensei returns into his caterpillar like state and Present Mic comes in to begin our English lesson.
“Good Morning, Listeners!” his boisterous cry filling the room.
_____________
When lunch time rolled around, I allowed myself to contemplate more on the topic of crushes mentioned at the sleepover. I’d realised that even I wasn’t necessarily interested in a relationship right now (too much emotional baggage to sort through.) I deserve to live a normal teenage experience, I would try to be more open with those around me so that I can actually have someone to lean on.
This lunchtime, I tried to channel my inner Kaminari and ask more questions about my friends… That's the first time I’ve actually considered anyone a friend.
“Hey, Wanda, you seem more talkative today. What happened?” He said, chuckling with a wide grin.
“Well, I’m trying to be more open with everyone since everyone has been nothing but nice and welcoming to me. Especially you.” I said, earnestness shining through my eyes.
“U-umm… w-well, it’s been a pleasure getting to know you, Wanda.” He stammered, a shy smile gracing his features while a warm blush spread over his cheeks and tips of his ears.
I smile back, a giggle escaping my lips at his admission. We continue to chat amicably until the end of lunch.
_______________
By the time we reach hero training, I notice that Aizawa-Sensei is leading the exercise and take advantage of this opportunity to admit the truth about my quirk. Not that I don’t trust All Might, I just feel more comfortable talking to Aizawa-sensei.
I make sure that I’m the first out of the changing rooms so I can have this conversation privately.
“Aizawa-sensei, can I speak to about something?” I ask, fiddling with the train of my hero costume, heart thumping so loud I feared he could hear it rattling against my rib cage.
“Of course, is it important?” He spoke with a softness I didn’t expect, probably sending my nerves.
“…Yes…” I say with slight hesitation as I ask myself if I’m really going to do what I’m about to do.
“You can tell me whenever you feel comfortable. This doesn’t have to be now, if you’d prefer to talk after the lesson.” He said reassuringly.
“Yes, please.” I whisper, feeling overwhelmed with how considerate he’s being. Having gone through basically all my formative years being treated badly by everyone around me (children and adults alike), coming to UA has been a complete game-changer.
He nods in reply and the rest of the class starts arriving for the lesson.
________________
After the lesson I followed Aizawa- sensei back to the classroom as there wouldn’t be anyone since classes had finished for the day.
“So, what did you want to talk to me about.” Aizawa-sensei started gently.
“W-well, I’m not sure where to start but I guess I’ll start with this: …I’ve been lying about what is…” I said, not sure where to go from there I waited for his response.
“If you’ve been lying that your quirk is Telekinesis, what actually is your quirk.” I looked up from my feet to see a look of well concealed confusion on his face.
“The doctors named my quirk ‘Chaos Magic’.” I said, already expecting negative judgment at this point, but I was instead met with more curiosity than before.
“What kind of ability does that entail?” He asked.
“They said my powers include but aren’t limited to telekinesis, mind warping, reality shifting, teleportation and energy manipulation.”
Aizawa-sensei didn’t bother hiding his surprise this time. After a loud a minute of silence, which felt like hours.
“…Why?…” It seemed like his confusion had doubled although now it was accompanied with concern.
And like a dam about to burst, I launched into the dreadful narrative that was my life in Sokovia, explaining that since my quirk came in my parents had openly expressed their shame in calling me their daughter, how they neglected from that point onwards and absolutely forbade me from using my quirk. I spoke of how I was treated like dirt by both the adults and children around me because of my quirk and that the only silver lining I had was my twin brother Pietro. By the time I finished silent tears paved their way down my cheeks.
Before I could think about what to do next, I was being wrapped in a warm hug and I melted. Loud sobs wracked my body as Aizawa-sensei comforted me, telling me that didn’t deserve any of it and that I deserved to be loved and appreciated no matter what my quirk is. When I had calmed down a bit, Aizawa-sensei spoke again.
“What do you want to do with your quirk. The ball is in your court. No one will prevent you from doing what you want to do with it.” He said sincerely.
“I know wanna be a be a hero so I can help people, especially those in similar situations to me.” I say, determination showing through my tears.
“Then I am glad to have you in my class, Wanda.” He said smugly.
______________
When I arrived back at the dorms, I was so exhausted from the emotional turmoil that I had relived but overall I had felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.
I immediately collapsed onto my bed and was out like a light within seconds.

Ever since I confessed my true quirk status to Aizawa-sensei, he rightfully decided I should have proper quirk counselling seeing as that was of my parents many acts of neglect against me. All my life the people around have always looked down on and berated me for my quirk, forever worrying over what I was capable of.
When I first came to Japan, I saw it as my parents finally getting rid of me so I came to UA to make the best out a seemingly horrible situation. Not knowing that after 12 long years of suffering I’d finally be able to surround myself with people who actually care about me.
In quirk counselling, I had sessions during hero training with Aizawa-sensei and an external counsellor. Her name was Kimura Hanako, she had shoulder length, pale blue hair and green eyes. She was really kind and her expertise proved to be useful as her quirk was called reverse, which allowed her to to undo any damage caused by my quirk.
With hers and Aizawa-sensei’s help I noticed a massive improvement in my abilities and I was beginning to truly understand the sheer versatility my quirk possesses. The only problem was I could feel my friend’s suspicion over why I was missing hero training.
They've already noticed how tired I’ve been lately due to training and testing the limits of my quirk but they don’t know that. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna have to break the news to them soon.
___________
After another successful session with Aizawa-sensei and Kimura-san, she updates me on the status of my quirk and the progress I’m making.
“Well, Wanda. I’m proud to say that you’ve made leaps and bounds in using and understanding your quirk.” Kimura-san starts.
“Thank you, Kimura-san!” I say, practically beaming with happiness.
“You have no one to thank but yourself, dear. Your determination is what really made this possible.” She says while smiling.
“You’ve basically mastered all the aspects of your quirk that we know about, the only thing left is to actually see what other abilities we can discover.” Aizawa-sensei chimes in, despite his monotone voice I can sense the pride in his words.
“Does this mean I can go back to hero training.” I ask.
“Yes, you can. The only problem is that you are probably going to have to tell your classmates about the true nature of your quirk to avoid confusion.” Aizawa-sensei said.
I always thought that revealing my quirk here in Japan would leads to more of the same treatment I experienced back in Sokovia but thanks to Aizawa-sensei and all my new friends that is thankfully not the case.
“I was kind of hoping to do that soon, I trust them and they were starting to get suspicious anyway.” I say with a fond smile and small chuckle.
“As today is Friday, you have the weekend to break the news to them.”
“Alright then. Thanks Aizawa-sensei and it was a pleasure to have your help Kimura-san!” I say, leaving the room to get back to the dorms and rest.
When I get to my dorm room, I quickly get changed into some comfy clothing. I sit at my desk and try to get some work done before I get too tired. As I’m trying to wiz through Present Mic’s English work I hear a knock at the door.
“Come in!” I yelled.
“Hey Wanda!” Kirishima says as he walks in with a cheerful demeanour.
“Hey Kiri!” I say gesturing to the bed so that he can take a seat.
“I came to ask if you wanted to go to the mall with the rest of the class tomorrow.” He asked.
“Sure!” I say, glad that I’ll be able to enjoy time with my friends.
“Sweet!” He said enthusiastically. I smile letting my eagerness seep through. However his expression morphed in mot one of hesitance, as if he wanted to say something but was unsure how to. He likely figured it out as he spoke up eventually.
“Wanda?… How come you’ve been missing hero training?” He asked tentatively.
I froze on panic for a second before realising that I was planning on doing this anyway.
“Well, I was actually planning on explaining this to the class this weekend but I can tell you now.” I started, he nodded to show he was paying attention.
“So, umm. Remember when I had my first hero training exercise and you asked me what my quirk was.”
“Yeah, you said it was Telekinesis, what about it?”
“Well, I um, I lied to you. My quirk isn’t telekinesis.”
His eyes widened in shock, his thoughts clearly running a mile a minute trying to figure out how this was possible. To save him any further confusion I continued.
“The name of my quirk is ‘Chaos Magic’. This means I have abilities such as telekinesis, mind warping, reality shifting, teleportation and energy manipulation.”
After a few moments of silence he replied, “First of all, WOW! Second of all, why did you lie about your quirk in the first place.” He said rising a giggle out of me.
“Well, I hope you like long stories because this one’s a doozy.” I said.
“My ears are wide open.” He replied cheekily.
I then go over how my quirk appeared and what I endured after that incident. He comforted me as a few tears slid down my cheeks. My mood brightened when I explained that I’d been training my quirk with Aizawa-sensei and Kimura-san during hero training.
“Wow, Wanda. I’m really proud of you. You’ve come such a long way.” He smiled gently.
“Thanks, Kiri. I really appreciate that.” I replied with a smile of my own.
“I wonder. Could you use your quirk to play a prank on the others.” He suggested, grinning deviously.
“Well, what did you have in mind?” I say matching his evil grin.
The plan was that as Bakugou was making dinner for the class this evening, I would use my quirk to make cat noises but Kirishima would be there to make it seem like he’s going crazy. It was genius!
We made our way down to the kitchen where Bakugou was peacefully making dinner. I almost felt bad for what we were about to do but what the hey, he’d get over it. This was my first prank and I couldn’t help but feel a little excited. Kirishima walked into the kitchen starting up a conversation about school work when mid sentence I started making the cat noises.
“Oi, shitty hair. Can you hear that?” Bakugou asked curiously.
“Hear what, Bakubro?” Kirishima replied furrowing his eyebrows in mock confusion. What an actor, I thought to myself.
“Tch, never mind.” He huffed and continued talking to Kirishima.
They continued talking for a few more minutes and then I started the cat sounds again a bit louder this time.
“There it is again, are you sure you can’t hear this, hair for brains? I swear I keep hearing cat noises.” Bakugou ranted in frustration.
“Bro, there’s no way a cat could’ve gotten in here. Are you sure you’re feeling okay dude?” Kirishima asked faking concern for his friend.
“You know what, I am not dealing with this shit right now.” He said mumbling curses as he stormed off.
We wait until he’s out of earshot before bursting into laughter.
After the prank we decided to go back to my dorm before dinner would be served. We talked about my quirk and what I can do with it now.
“Well, making the cat sounds is just a small portion of what I can do with reality warping. I can teleport basically without even thinking now.” I say, suddenly appearing behind him.
“Woah.” He said.
“The red glow that forms when I use telekinesis can actually be used to make energy blasts and I can basically brainwash and mess with people’s minds.” I finish.
“I mean, I thought your quirk was cool before but now…Wanda, you’re basically unstoppable!” He exclaimed, eyes wide in awe. I blushed at the praise and looked away shyly.
“Wanda…there’s something I-” before he got to finish, there was a knock at the door making us turn away from each other.
“Come in.” I yelled.
“Hey, Wanda. Hey, Kirishima. Dinner’s ready, but kaachan seems to be a worse mood that usual.” He said making us exchange smug looks. We all made our way down to the dining table.

Since I woke up this morning, I’ve been wondering how to break the news of my true quirk to the rest of the class. The best way would probably be to sit them all down after our trip to the mall, now that Kirishima knows I’ll at least have some emotional support.
I glanced over at my alarm clock to see that it was only 10 in the morning and we leaving for the mall in two hours. I quickly picked out what I was going to wear, which was a dark red turtleneck, black jeans and black boots.
It was around 11 when I came down to the kitchen for some breakfast, while I was there I met Midoriya and Bakugou going back and forth over something as usual.
“Morning guys” I greeted with a smile.
“Hey Wanda.” Midoriya said cheerfully while Bakugou just nodded at me.
“So, are you guys coming to the mall with us.” I asked.
“Yes-”
“No-”
They answered at the same time, I just raised a brow in confusion. They continued going back and forth like before I entered the room.
“C’mon kaachan. Don’t you want to hang out with your friends?” Midoriya asked hoping for a positive response.
“Tch, fine! Damn extras, always annoying me even when they’re not here.” Bakugou grumbled, giving into his curly haired boyfriend demands.
“Yay!” Midoriya cheered, bright smile on his face as Bakugou continued grumbling with a hint of a smile on his face.
I just shook my head at their antics, chuckling to myself as I left the kitchen. I strolled into the common room to see Kirishima and Kaminari playing a game on their phones.
“Hey guys, what are you playing.” I said.
“Hey Wanda, we’re playing among us.” Kiri said turning to me before looking back to his phone screen.
“Hey Wanda.” Kaminari greeted.
I went in my phone as they continued to play, but as they were playing it became increasingly obvious that Kaminari was losing until he groaned loudly and spoke up.
“Damn it! I died.” He said clearly frustrated with the outcome of the game.
“Sorry, dude.” Kiri said, trying to console him.
The game went on and the imposters had won, Kaminari let out a dramatic gasp at the news exclaiming…
“Bro, you were one of the imposters the whole time!” He shouted. Kiri just gave him a smug grin and laughed as he pouted.
After that revelation, Mina came into the room announcing loudly that it was time to go to the mall. Everyone coming with us assembled in the common room and we headed out. The people coming with were: Kiri, Kaminari, Jirou, Mina, Momo, Uraraka, Iida, Tsu, Shinsou, Sero, Bakugou, Midoriya, Todoroki And myself.
This would hopefully be a fun experience as I haven’t been to a mall since I was 4. When we got there we all split off into groups and promised to meet back in the food court at 1:30. I was walking along with Kiri, Kaminari, Bakugou, Midoriya and Shinsou. We came across a toy store that was selling hero action figures which Midoriya dragged Bakugou into seeing.
We continued walking but Kaminari spotted a store filled with squishy toys and stopped to look at them with Shinsou. Soon it’s just Kiri and I walking around. I spot and Arcade room and opt for us to hangout there. Now, I had never been in an arcade before but it proved to be so much fun.
We played shooting games, won prizes and got some snacks too. It was about 1:20 when we decided to head for the food court to meet up with the others. When we got there the rest of the group was already waiting for us.
“Hey guys! Who’s ready to eat?” I say feeling hungry myself.
“Yeah!” A few people say in chorus as we make our way to the queue for burgers and fries. When we get further along in the line suddenly a man a few feet ahead of us turns his hand into a gun.
“Give me all the money, now!” He shouts, eyes wild.
He then turns his other hand into a gun pointing at the rest of the people in the queue.
“Everybody get down, now!” He yells, spit flying in his fit of rage.
We all get down as he turns back to the cashier demanding the money. The poor woman is in tears so I turn to my friends telling them telepathically that they should stay put. They look at me confused but do as I say, while the guy is distracted I crawl closer to the cashier. My hands glow red and my hair turns ginger as I use reality shifting to make the guns disappear and form force fields around the cashier, strangers and my friends. He looks around confused at what happened to his ammunition. I stand up and use telekinesis to force him onto the ground. He starts yelling and cursing at me but before he can do anything I move closer to him and use mind warping to make him fall asleep.
“You are feeling very tired, sleep!” I say, and he quickly dozes off. I use reality shifting again to shackle him to the ground. I then tell the cashier to call the police.
When the police arrive, the cashier lady and I give our statements and soon everything goes back to normal. Although, Aizawa-sensei arrives soon after demanding answers.
“Problem child, is this your doing?” He says, the exasperation seeping out of his words.
“You’d be surprised to know that it wasn’t actually me this time Aizawa-sensei.” He says.
“It was me.” I say sheepishly, understanding washes over his facial expression.
“I see…Good luck explaining this one.” He says, a sadistic grin taking over his features. “I now dub thee official problem child number 2” he mutters while walking away.
As we’re heading back to the dorms, my friends keep sending me confused looks but I don’t meet any of their gazes, deciding that this will all be easier if I explain it all in one place. When we get to the common room I sit down on the couch waiting for the rest to follow.
“Can you call everyone into the common room, please?” I ask Kiri, who nods and stands up to leave. When everyone is in the common room, I finally speak up.
“Hi guys,” I start, “I have a confession to make. Those of you who came to the mall with us today may already have an idea of what I’m going to say.” I take a deep breath, Kiri squeezes my hand to give some reassurance and I give him a small smile in return.
“I was lying to you guys when I said my quirk was telekinesis.” I look up to see a few shocked faces, some confused faces so I continue.
“My quirk is called ‘Chaos Magic’. It gives me the abilities of telekinesis but also energy manipulation, telepathy, reality shifting, mind warping and teleportation. At least those are the ones I’ve discovered so far.” I say, closing my eyes , letting that information sink in. In an instant, I’m being bombarded with both praise and questions over what I just revealed. I put up a hand to settle them down as I explain further.
“When I was subduing the shooter at the mall, I used reality shifting to turn his hand back to normal. I used energy manipulation to form the force field so I could protect you guys. I used telekinesis to force him onto the ground then used mind warping to make him fall asleep.” I explained, the looks of confusion morph into one’s of understanding.
“As for why I didn’t tell you the truth in the first place is something to do with my upbringing.” I say earning more looks of confusion. I then start the whole story of how my quirk manifested and what happened to me afterwards. A few tears running down cheeks.
Suddenly, I’m being engulfed into a hug. I look over to see a green hair over my shoulder. “You didn’t deserve any of that treatment and I’m proud of how far you’ve come.” Midoriya whispers. Soon the whole class piles in for a hug and the tears seem to only pour faster.
________________
As I lie down in bed, I feel an overwhelming feeling of joy as I realise that I finally feel like I belong here. The acceptance I have felt here is more than I have ever felt in my entire life.
A yawn escapes me and I doze off in to blissful sleep.

Chapter Text
It’s been about a week since I told the truth about my quirk. Being able to show off and train with my quirk has allowed me to make vast improvements to in my skills in combat, defence and rescue scenarios. However, in discovering more about my quirk and how to use it there’s still something I don’t understand.
Whenever I go full out with my quirk my hair turns from brown to ginger. When I first discovered my quirk, it happened because I was upset and overwhelmed. It happened at the mall because I was stressed. It also happens during training but I can’t seem to figure why and how.
Unsurprisingly, Midoriya offered to do some analysis of my quirk to try and figure out what the root of the mystery is but to no avail. Hopefully, I’ll have some epiphany and it’ll all make sense soon.
It’s lunchtime right now but I can’t help but mull over what Aizawa-sensei said during homeroom this morning.
(Flashback)
“Morning, gremlins.” Aizawa-sensei said as he walked through the door. The class we’re immediately in their seats and silence now took over the once idle chatter filling the room.
“Hero training will be slightly different to day,” He started vaguely as curiously spread across the room. “We will be doing another joint training session with class 1B at the USJ.” He finished.
There was a moment of silence before exhausted sighs and collective groans filled the room. A look confusion was very present on my face but before I could ask what about class 1B warranted that kind of reaction, the first class of the day was starting.
“Good morning, listeners!” Present mic said with avid enthusiasm.
(End of Flashback)
I was sitting beside Kiri and Kaminari and decided I should know what to expect if class 1B were so bad.
“Kiri, how come you guys all groaned and sighed when Aizawa-sensei mentioned that we’re training with 1B today.” I asked, confusion and curiosity apparent on my face.
“Oh, yeah. You were probably confused why we reacted like that. The thing is, there’s one guy in 1B don’t like to hang around because he insists that 1B is better than 1A and is really rude about it.” Kiri explained.
“Wow, wasn’t expecting that.” I said.
“Yeah, the rest of 1B are fine. It’s just Monoma can say some really out of pocket things sometimes. I’m surprised he hasn’t approached you yet, preaching about how 1B is better and that you should have been put in their class instead.” Kaminari added.
“Speak of the devil, here he comes now.” Kiri said, as he said this I notice a boy with pale blonde hair, light blue eyes and a mischievous smirk approach our table.
“Hello, 1A dorks. I hear we have another joint training session today.” The boy said in a condescending tone. “I can’t wait for 1B to prove how superior we are!” He said as the entire cafeteria grew silent.
“I also hear that 1A got a powerful new student,” he said making eye contact with me, “It’s a shame that you chose a lesser class but I can see that they’d probably need your help if they’d ever want to be as good as 1B!” He said while laughing loudly.
As he was saying these things, I could see a flash of regret flicker in his eyes. Before I could speculate any further a girl with bright ginger hair in a sideways ponytail and turquoise eyes karate chopped Monoma’s head with and inflated hand, making him drop to the ground.
“Hey guys, sorry about that.” She said kindly, “ I don’t think we’ve met, I’m Kendo Itsuka. I’m the class president of 1B.”
“Hi, I’m Wanda Maximoff.” I reply.
“Nice to meet you. Well, sorry again for his behaviour. Bye.” She said dragging Monoma with her.
“Well, that’s Monoma.” Kiri said.
“Hero training should be quite interesting then.” I concluded.
“No surprises there.” Kaminari added.
I couldn’t help but wonder about the guilt I saw in Monoma’s eyes as he ranted about 1B being better than 1A. Surely that means there more to the guy that meets the eye, other than being unexpectedly rude and annoying.
The whole discussion about 1B had me wondering about something else that Aizawa-sensei has said.
“I’m still confused on something though, what’s the USJ.” I asked.
“USJ stands for Unforeseen Simulation Joint.” Kiri said, “It’s basically a training ground off campus that has a simulation of every disaster scenario.”
“Yeah, there’s the downpour zone, landslide zone, the shipwreck zone.” Kaminari added
“Wow, that’s a lot. How much money does this school have?” I said in awe.
“Kami knows, but it’s definitely a lot.” Kiri replied.
The rest of lunch went smoothly and Kirishima told me about his good friend in class 1B, Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, he has a metal quirk that essentially works the same as Kiri’s hardening. Kaminari commented that they were basically the same person but in different fonts, earning a laugh from the rest of us.
I expressed my enthusiasm for wanting to see what the USJ was like but I noticed that the other es were a little more hesitant.
“How come you guys aren’t excited?” I asked, curiously.
“Well, the last time we were there it was NOT a pleasant experience.” Kaminari replied.
“Oh? How come?”
“We were attacked by the league of villains. They broke in to try and kill All Might but since he wasn’t there at the time that villains separated us into smdifferent parts of the USJ were we had to fight for our lives.” Kiri added solemnly.
“Aizawa-sensei and Thirteen-sensei nearly died fighting them off but thankfully Iida escaped and ran to get the rest of the teachers before it got any worse.” Kaminari said, shuddering at the unfortunate memory of Aizawa-sensei’s mummified state post surgery.
“Oh God! I’m so sorry you guys had to go through that. I’m glad you guys got out of there alive.” I said feeling terrible about their horrible experience.
These discussions left me with a lot to think about, in terms of the mental state of the class, what training would be like with one 1B, what the deal with Monoma is. Hopefully, things will turn out alright in the end.
Just then the bell rang, signalling the end of lunch and the beginning of classes.

A couple hours had passed since lunch ended and I was heading to the changing rooms to get ready for the lesson.
When I walked out with the other girls, we met up with rest of the class outside the entrance of the school were Aizawa-sensei addressed us.
“Alright hellions, I know that training and interacting with 1B isn’t always pleasant but this will help you in the future when dealing with other heroes that aren’t the best to get along with. It’s important to put personal feelings aside and focus on the the task at hand.” He concluded.
We about to board the bus to get to the USJ, when Kiri walks up to me.
“Hey, Wanda.” He said, smiling.
“Hey, Kiri. What’s up?” I reply, returning the smile with one of my own.
“Well, I was just wondering if you’d want to train with me sometime. Now that I think about it, we’ve all gotten our provisional licenses so I was wondering if you wanted help training for it.”
“Yeah, I’d love to train with you. One question though, what’s a provisional license.” I ask, looking confused.
“Oh, yeah, in order for us to do work studies with hero agencies we need a license that shows we’re allowed to used our quirks to fight against villains.” He explained.
“Ah, okay. That makes sense.” I said.
“So, when would you want to train.” He asked.
“Tomorrow should be good.”
“Okay, cool.” He said, sending me a happy grin.
We boarded the bus and continued to chat about the provisional license and what the exam was like. Soon, we had arrived at the USJ and all I could think about was how huge this place was. Seriously, where are they getting all this money from.
As we were getting off the bus, another bus pulled up to the USJ entrance. It was 1B, everyone practically waited for Monoma’s over the top proclamation of 1B’s superiority but when he got down, he just rolled his eyes and muttered, “1A losers,” and looked away. Before anyone questioned anything, Thirteen-sensei walked out.
“Hello, young heroes. I’m glad to be able to to welcome to here. I understand that we have a new student in the hero course.” They said making eye contact with me, “I hope you find today’s session useful.” They said. “I also want to make it clear to 1A, that due to the last time they when here things took a turn for the worse, if at any time you feel the need to leave or take a break don’t hesitate to tell Aizawa or myself.”
Aizawa then interjected to explain how the lesson would work. “How the session will work is that instead of separating the classes, you will be placed into teams comprised of both 1A and B to complete the task. There will be dummies placed in each terrain that you must retrieve safely in order to complete the task.” He explained.
Aizawa-sensei then pulled up a screen displaying the teams and which terrain they were in. I was in the ruins zone with Midoriya, Yaoyurozu, a girl with dark green hair and a purple hero costume, Tokage I think and finally… Monoma. This should be interesting.
When we all meet in the central plaza, Tokage walks up to me.
“You’re the only face I don’t recognise so you must be Wanda. I’m Tokage Setsunsa.” She says politely.
“You’re right, I’m Wanda. It’s nice to meet you.” I reply, giving a small smile.
I can hear Monoma grumbling in the corner so Midoriya speaks up.
“So in order for us to get the most out of this exercise, we should all explain our quirks. That way we can get familiar with each other, I’ll go first. My quirk gives me super strength and speed and recently it allows me to form energy tendrils and command them at will.” He finishes, looking a bit sheepish.
“My quirk allows me to create any non-living object as long as I know the structure.” Yaoyurozu adds.
“My quirk allows me to split my body into pieces and control each piece at will.” Tokage chimes in.
“Well, my quirk gives me telekinesis, energy manipulation, mind warping, reality shifting and teleportation.” I say, looks of shock from Tokage and Monoma, who finally stoped sulking in the corner. When they broke out their trance, Monoma decides to speak up.
“My quirk allows me to copy other people’s quirks as long as I make physical contact with them.” He adds breaking the silence.
“Now that we all know each other's quirk we form a plan. I think Tokage, you should be on recon so we can determine where the dummies are. Yaoyurozu can help me with moving the rubble safely. Wanda and Monoma can help transporting the dummies.” He concluded.
Everyone agreed except Monoma who just grumbled, so then when it was time to start the exercise we each got ear pieces for communication and made our way to the ruins zone. Before anyone went in, Tokage used her quirk to divide herself into pieces. Once she gave the okay, we went in after.
“There’s a dummy on the first building to your left.” Tokage said, through the earpiece.
Midoriya and Yaoyurozu made their way into the building and I went along but not before stretching out a hand for Monoma to touch so he could copy my quirk. He gave me a weird look but accepted.
When we got to the dummy, Midoriya used his strength to lift the rubble and Yaoyurozu created a car lift to keep the rubble in place. I use telekinesis to gently lift the dummy out.
“Hey, Monoma. Make a portal to our location.” I say into the comms.
In the next minute there was a portal next to us and through it was Monoma. I lifted the dummy into the portal and into Monoma’s arms.
“The next dummy is two floors above you.” Tokage said into the comms.
We continued this process until we had gotten all the dummies out. And about half an hour later, we finished in record timing so we made our way back to the central plaza. Soon other groups joined us and so the training session was over.
We were already back on the bus, but there was one thing I couldn’t wrap my head around.
What was up with Monoma today?

Chapter Text
It’s been a day since our joint training exercise with 1B and I just couldn’t get my mind off of Monoma’s behaviour. It was like something inside me was just nagging at me to get to the root of the issue. I would say it’s just a gut feeling or just my intuition but it feels more than that…
I had a feeling something serious was going on, especially when Monoma’s gloomy disposition and grumbling didn’t let up when I saw him at lunch. His friends seemed to try to engage with him, but he seemed to answer curtly and uninterested so they stopped trying.
On the other hand, there was another thing that was on my mind all day. The provisional licensing exam that Kiri talked about was stressing me out a bit. There would be work study opportunities next semester in our second year and I really wanted to participate, but in order to do that I needed a provisional license.
I’m planning on asking Aizawa-sensei about how this will work as I missed my opportunity to get my license with rest of the class when I wasn’t around yet.
I put my thoughts aside while changed into some casual workout clothes so I can meet up with Kiri for some extra training. I grab a hair tie and my water bottle on my way out the door.
I meet up with Kiri at the PE grounds, and he comes up to greet me and asks what we should start with in terms of training.
“So what are you looking to do first?” He asks, with a wide smile.
“I think I should work on my defence a little bit and then maybe some combat.” I suggest.
“Alright, sounds good to me.” He replies.
When we start, he comes at me with hardened fists and a flurry of punches. I try and use my force field to protect myself, wonder how much force they can withstand. Eventually, the force field breaks so I resort to making portals to redirect his attacks.
Kiri seems to be caught off guard for a second before reattempting his previous attacks. This time I used a portal that redirected his hand to the his gut. He was pretty winded after that, so we called it quits on defence.
“Your defensive skills are really good, Wanda!” He said, still recovering from the blow to his stomach.
“Thanks.” I replied with a giggle.
When he recovered, we moved onto combat which worked up quite the sweat. All the training we were doing made me really appreciate Kiri’s skills and quirk. He was really good at both offensive and defensive moves. It took a lot out of me to try and beat him but he won in the end as we were doing quirkless combat. Though, I have a lot of confidence that I’ll be able to do better with some practice.
When we finished, I went to grab my water bottle when I suddenly get a wave of pain in my head that makes my knees buckle. It feels like there are a thousand people screaming in my head all at once.
Before I can fall over, Kiri is at my side to stabilise me. My hearing fades out for a minute and slowly the pain ebbs away and I open my eyes again. Concerned red eyes stare back at me, I can see his mouth moving but I can’t make out any of the words he’s saying.
Sensing my unresponsive state, he resorts to carrying me away but soon after I close my eyes and a series of scenes flash across my vision and then I lose consciousness.
_____________
When I open my eyes again, I see white walls and ceiling. I move slowly to try and sit up which seems to attract the attention of the two other people in the room.
“Wanda! Thank kami you’re okay!” Kiri exclaimed, rushing to my side. A mix of worry and relief painted on his face.
“I’m you’re awake now, dearie.” The old lady, known as Recovery girl, said to me. “ I ran a few tests to see what the matter was and seemed to be severe quirk exhaustion.” She concluded.
My brows furrowed, confusion evident on my features, “That doesn’t make sense, we weren’t even training with our quirks when this happened.” I say.
“Well, Wanda. There’s a new addition that might clear things up a little.” Kiri mentioned.
“What do you mean?” I say.
He doesn’t answer and instead hands me a mini mirror. The sight that awaited me left me completely speechless. Instead of being met with my usual brown wavy locks, I was met with fiery red hair!
I nearly passed out again from shock. I, wordlessly, looked to Recovery girl for answers and she spoke up.
“It seems to me that the headache you experienced was an involuntary quirk activation of your quirk, hence the permanent change in your hair colour. I recommend getting a lot of rest and maybe sit out of hero training tomorrow.” She said.
“Thank you, ma’am.” I reply.
After that, Kiri helps me to my dorm room so I can get some rest.
“Thanks Kiri. I appreciate you helping me out.” I say.
“Of course, Wanda. I’m just glad you’re okay.” He replied with a small smile. He stood up to leave, but I grabbed his hand before he could go.
“Stay with me? I could use some company right now.” I ask, feeling a little silly for asking.
“Sure, I’m as long long as you need me.” He said, smile widening.
We decided to watch an action movie in my phone, to pass the time. The goofy smile and laugh Kiri made whenever the main character made a snide comment was more entertaining to me than the actual movie.
The main character was fighting the enemy in a scene when suddenly the series of scenes that I saw before passing out flashed across my eyes. I gasped in shock.
Concerned for my well-being, Kiri paused the movie to ask me what happened.
“Everything okay?” Kiri asked.
“We need to speak to Aizawa-sensei, right now!”

“Why? What’s going on?” Kiri said, obviously panicked.
“No time to explain, we gotta go. Now!” I say.
Without a second thought, Kiri helps me up and we make our way to the teacher dorms. When we get there, Aizawa-sensei spots us.
“Problem child 2? Recovery girl already emailed me about what happened, you should be resting.” He said, face portraying slight concern.
“I need to discuss something really important with you.” I say, urgency leaking through my tone.
“Okay, we can talk in my office-” he starts but I cut him off.
“No, I think we should bring this to Principal Nedzu.” I say seriously. His eyes widen for a second and so do Kiri’s, but he nods his head and we head to Nedzu’s office.
By the time we enter the room, it seems that Principal Nedzu already knew we were coming. When we’ve all sat down, the principal starts off.
“Well, Wanda. Would you like to explain why you’ve gathered us here?” He says.
“Well, sir. I had an involuntary quirk activation today that was so extreme that I lost consciousness but before I passed out I saw something.” I start off. The curious looks in the room, urging me to continue.
“I saw elements of the past flash across my eyes but they weren’t experiences I was present for. I saw the attack on the USJ, the fight with the hero killer, the attack on training camp, the battle in Kamino, the fight with Overhaul.” With everyone event I mention, it felt like the room had doubled in tension.
“I think my quirk was trying to show what happened when I wasn’t attending UA in relation to involvement with villains, but then I saw something different.” I said with trepidation.
“I think I saw the future…” I say as the room was seemingly lost to stunned silence.
“So you mean to tell me that, on top of all the already powerful abilities your quirk gives you, now you can see the future too?” Aizawa-sensei said, nothing but exasperation in his tone, “I don’t have enough caffeine for this.” He muttered.
“Anyway, Wanda. What did you see about the future?” Principal Nedzu asked.
“I saw a numerous amount of really dangerous things. The first one I saw was the man who attacked the USJ acquiring an army, then I saw all kinds of nomu being stored underneath Jaku Hospital, then all the villains escaping Tartarus, then Midoriya leaves UA because he’s the one all the villains are after, then 1A have to fight him to bring him back to safety, then another war broke out and some of us… end up dying.” I ramble, tears leaking from the corner of my eyes.
Silence, once again rings out across the room. I put my head in my hands, feeling overwhelmed and tired.
“I don’t know what to do, knowing the future doesn’t automatically help us to change anything.” I say, feeling quite miserable.
“I knew that hero society was falling apart but I didn’t think it world be so quickly.” Kiri speaks up.
“Well, the good thing is that we know what coming now. Thank you, Wanda, for bringing this to my attention.” Nedzu says., the gears seemingly turning in his head.
“I believe the best course of action is to call a meeting with the rest of the UA staff, the Hero commission and you Wanda. That way we can formulate the best course of action.” He concluded.
“For now, you two should go get some rest. It’s been a long day, so you can both take the day off of school tomorrow.” Aizawa-sensei added.
We both nodded and left the room, I nearly collapsed from exhaustion when we were walking. When we returned back to my room, burst into tears, sobs wracking my entire body.
Kiri just held me as I cried, rubbing my back as I continued to weep out misery and sheer hopelessness. When I finished, I could only whisper…
“Why did have to end up like this?”
“I don’t know, Wanda but I know we can fix it.” Kiri whispered back, trying to reassure me.
Overcome with extreme fatigue, we both drifted off to sleep. Huddled in each others arms for comfort.
_______________
When I woke up again, I could feel fingers brushing the strands of my now red hair. I look up see Kiri, arms still wrapped around me, seemingly lost in thought. He meets my eyes, and smiles slightly and I return the smile with one my own.
“What time is it?” I ask, moving to get up.
“Almost 12.” He replies.
“Wow, I haven’t woken up this late in a while.” I comment, stretching my sore limbs.
“Yeah, same. Oh, by the way, Aizawa-sensei left a not for us.” He says, pointing to a piece of paper on my bedside table. It read:
Good Morning, Problem child 2.
Don't worry about explaining your absence to the class, I’ve told them I gave you and Kirishima the day off due to the quirk exhaustion scenario yesterday.
Make sure to rest and relax but at the end of the school day, you and Kirishima should come to Nedzu’s office at the end of the school day.
~Aizawa.
“So we need to meet Aizawa-sensei and Nedzu again.” I say.
“Yeah… but don’t worry I’m sure that a conclusion will come out of it.” He said, already trying to comfort me.
“Okay.” I say feeling a bit more confident.
“Now, let’s go eat something. I’m starving!” He exclaimed. I just chuckle following him towards the kitchen.

When we got to the kitchen, I was still visibly tired despite being somewhat well rested. Kiri offered to make us pancakes, to which I agreed as it had been so long since I had them.
I couldn’t get my mind to rest, knowing the extreme suffering and trauma the future holds. I was searching endlessly for answers over and over in my head but I could only come up with a few solutions and all of them seemed to involve danger and sacrifice. Noticing my faraway look, Kiri spoke up.
“Do wanna talk about it?” He said, concern lacing his expression.
I was hesitant for a second before finally replying. “It’s just… now that I know what’s happened before and what’s going to happen, my brain just won’t shut off. I keep looking for solutions and loopholes, going round in circles only to meet dead end after dead end. The only solution I can think of is maxing out my reality shifting to change something but I don’t think I’m strong enough for that…” I trail off, tears slowly cascading down my face.
Kiri reaches for my hand, giving it a little squeeze for comfort before saying. “I know what we’ve just experienced is a lot to process, your reaction to such upsetting things is absolutely normal. I’m sure that we’ll be able to come to a solution and if it comes to using your reality shifting that you will have the support and guidance to whatever it is you need to do. I believe in you.” He says, reaching up to my face to wipe my tears away.
“Thanks Kiri.” I say giving him a wobbly smile.
“Call me Eijirou.” He says, giving me a small smile in return.
My smile widens and I nod, glad to have someone I can be so vulnerable with.
“Just out of curiosity, were there any good things from the future you saw?” He says, looking slightly hopeful.
“Well, I figured out why the villains became villains and I found out who the UA traitor is.” I say, not happy at the fact there’s so little to celebrate in the future.
“Oh… at least it’s useful information.” He said, trying to make light of the situation.
I shrug, not know what to make of it. “What are we supposed to do now? Now that we know, I feel like we’re just… stuck.” I say feeling and looking lost.
“Well, we still have about 2 hours before we need to meet up with Principal Nedzu. So how about we watch a movie.” He suggested.
“Sounds like a good idea. Hopefully, it will take my mind of things. Even if it’s only for a little while.” I say, trying to be optimistic.
He nods and smiles, so we head back upstairs to his dorm. We sit on the bed and make ourselves comfortable, Eijirou grabbed his laptop so we could pick a film.
As we were scrolling through films, I noticed an animated film that caught my attention and curiosity.
“Eijirou, what’s Kung Fu Panda about?” I said looking confused yet intrigued.
“You’ve never watched Kung Fu Panda!?” He said looking completely flabbergasted.
“My parents never really gave me enough freedom for these kind of things growing up.” I said feeling sad about those harsh memories of what was supposed to be my childhood.
Eijirou looked understanding and we decided that we should watch the movie since it would allow me to experience some of the childhood I missed out on.
Needless to say, I loved the film and I now have a newfound love for pandas. Perfect combo of silly and serious. By the time the end credits rolled around it was almost time for us to meet with Principal Nedzu.
We decided to grab some snacks to tide us over, as I had a feeling that this meeting would be both long and arduous. As we were about to leave the kitchen, Eijirou grabbed my hand to stop me.
“Wanda, I have something I want to tell you.” He said, looking both serious and nervous at the same time.
“I know that, what were about to discuss in there will probably involve a lot of danger and hardship so I just wanted to get this off my chest… I really like you, Wanda. I just wanted to tell you before we go off and start making life threatening decisions.” He says, still visibly nervous yet somewhat relieved.
It took me a minute to fully digest what he had just said, but when I did I could only think of the conversation I had with the other girls about crushes and how far I’ve come from that frame of mind.
“Eijirou, I really like you too. I’m really luck to have met such a kind and considerate person like you. All my life the only person that’s truly cared for me is my brother, so I’m glad you feel the same way I do.” I say, my smile blinding.
“So, will you be my girlfriend?” He says, grinning ear to ear.
“Yes.” I say and he envelopes me in a hug and kisses my forehead.
“Let’s go.” I say, holding his hand. As we’re walking I’m trying to mentally prepare myself for what we’re about to endure.
We make our way to Principal Nedzu’s office, I knock on the door and it opens to reveal Aizawa-sensei, unfortunately looking more tired than usual.
“Come in Problem children.” He says, voice matching his tired appearance.
When we enter the room, we see all the UA staff, some government officials, some top ranking heroes and three people I didn’t expect but wasn’t surprised to see. Midoriya, Bakugou and Todoroki.
When go to sit down the only spaces left are in the middle of the table, so all heads turn to us. I can feel the curious stares coming from everyone except Aizawa-sensei and Nedzu, especially Midoriya, Bakugou and Todoroki.
Eventually, Nedzu speaks up so all the stares in my direction turn to him.
“Well, I suppose you’re wondering why I have gathered you all here today. I will just say that hero society has never been at a greater risk of crumbling to absolute pieces at this moment than ever before.” He stated shocking everyone in the room.
“Thanks to the incredible power of one of my students, we now are able to determine the future in terms of whatever heinous act of villainy the league of villains will use to bring about the end of Japan as we know it.” He continued, as the tension in the room builds.
“Miss Maximoff, would you like to explain what the future holds for us?”

…
I took a deep breath before answering. “I think, to avoid confusion, it’s best to explain my quirk and how it lead to this urgent meeting.” I heard a few mumbles of an agreement before continuing. “My quirk is called ‘Chaos Magic’, it gives me the abilities of telekinesis, teleportation, mind warping, reality shifting and energy manipulation. Yesterday, I was training with Kirishima and I had a really bad headache and I blacked out, but before I blacked out it was like I was seeing a movie flash before my eyes. When I woke up, I remembered what I saw and it seemed to be sequences of the future.” I concluded, summarising how this whole mess began in the first place.
“How do we know that this girl is telling the truth? This could all just be a waste of time over a silly dream!” Endeavour boomed, flames increasing along with his temper.
“Well, Endeavour. To prove that what I’m saying is the truth, I also saw sequences of the past before I saw the future. Would you like me to air out all your dirty laundry now or later? Because believe me, what you’ve done is coming back with a vengeance.” I say, clearly having no patience for this argument. Endeavour looked surprised and quickly looked away, although I noticed a small smile on Todoroki’s face.
“Now, are there any questions before I dive into what I saw in the future?”
“May I ask, young Maximoff, what events of the past did you see?” All Might asked.
“Well, I saw various fights with the LOV and All For One but I think I saw almost everyone in this room’s first encounter with a villain. For example, I saw Midoriya and Bakugou being attacked by the sludge villain.” I said, Midoriya and Bakugou look at me with palpable shock.
“I see.” All Might said, looking grim.
“Now, I will warn you. What I’m about to tell you is very disheartening to say the least.” I say.
“Let’s just get this over with.” Aizawa-sensei says, looking exasperated.
I nod and plunge into a story of woe and misfortune. I tell them about the Paranormal Liberation Front and how the heroes engaged in a head on war. How Shigaraki goes through several operations at Jaku Hospital where the nomus are kept. How All For One takes over Shigaraki’s body and he escaped.
I pause to let the fist wave of information sink in. I look around to see, devastated expressions and some lost in thought.
“How did it ever come to this?” I hear someone ask, out of shear bewilderment.
“As sad as it is to say this, it unfortunately gets worse.” I say, about to launch into the the next part of the horrid story.
I go over the nomus invade Tartarus, the decline in morale about heroes, then Midoriya leaving UA.
“Wait, wait, wait! Why the hell would Deku leave UA?” Bakugou yells, interrupting my story.
“Hold on. I need permission to tell this particular part of the story.” I say, giving him a look.
“Hey Midoriya, Hey All Might, in order for the whole scope of the future to make sense I need to reveal the truth about One For All. Don’t worry, you end up revealing it at this point in the future anyway.” I say telepathically.
They both look shocked for a moment, but All Might gives Midoriya a nod.
“Okay, go ahead.” Midoriya replies.
I briefly explain the origin of One For All and link it to how Midoriya, out of selflessness left UA.
“Jesus Christ, problem child.” Aizawa-sensei said, burying his head in his hands.
I continue about how Midoriya harnesses the remaining abilities inside One For All and the villains he fights whilst on the run, his fight with the rest 1A in order to bring him back, the fight between Shigaraki and the number one hero from America and the UA traitor.
“So Aoyama… is the traitor.” Todoroki says slowly in disbelief. Midoriya has silent tears dripping down his face and Bakugou’s scowl hardens in anger and frustration. I can feel Eijirou tense up next to me.
“The next part is about the final battle between All For One and the heroes but… I don’t know how it ends.” I say feeling immensely dejected. Eijirou squeezes my hand in comfort and I continue with the story.
I explain the plan to divide and conquer the villains, the various battles between each of the villains and Bakugou’s death and resurrection.
“After that, I don’t know.” I trail off.
The silence that fills the room is deafening, Eijirou is trembling by my side, all the pros are shaking with anger and frustration, the government officials are quaking in fear, Todoroki has his head in his hands and Midoriya is sobbing into Bakugou’s neck but Bakugou is quiet, face completely neutral.
Tears well up in the corner of my eye as I ask out of desperation. “What do we do now?”
Eijirou embraces me in a hug as my question hangs in the air.
“Thank you, Miss Maximoff, for enlightening us on this unfortunate matter. I guess the best thing for us to consider what are our next steps are to avoid this trainwreck.” Nedzu piped up, breaking the silence.
“I believe I have some semblance of an idea.” I say.
“Please, do share.” Nedzu replies, slight eagerness slipping out of his tone.
“So remember how my quirk includes an ability called reality shifting. It allows me to meddle with what exists in reality and bend it to my will.” I say with trepidation, as a few gasps ring out across the room.
“I don’t know what I could change to counter this outcome or even if I’m powerful enough to see it through… but I’m willing to try.” I say, not feeling confident but determined.
We then strategised what ways we could prevent this future. Some suggested mind warping members of the LOV. Some suggested erasing AFO from existence, which seems extreme but justified. We decided ultimately that know we know the whole story we should meet up again next week to finalise on the plan.
We all went our separate ways, but outside of the meeting room Midoriya, Bakugou and Todoroki were standing outside waiting for us.

“Hey guys.” Eijirou said, as we exited the room.
“Did you guys need-” I was about to ask before Midoriya crashes into me with a bone crushing hug.
“Thank you so much, Wanda.” He says clearly overwhelmed with emotion. “You don’t know how much grief you’ve saved us by doing this.”
I hug him back before saying. “You don’t have to thank me, I’m just glad I was able to see this before it was too late.” I reply.
“Although, there is one thing I think you guys might wanna hear.” I say. They all give confused looks.
“The origin stories of Shigaraki and Dabi.” I say, all of them look surprised but seem understanding.
”Firstly, Todoroki, this is going to be really traumatic for you and if any point you want me to stop, just let me know.” I say, trying to convey how serious this is.
“What does this have to do with me?” He asks, obviously confused.
“Trust me it does and it is NOT pretty.” I say.
“Okay, then. Go ahead.”
“Well, there’s no easy way to say this but… Dabi is Touya Todoroki, your eldest brother.” I say letting that sink in.
Todoroki’s eyes widened, he froze in utter shock for a few moments before tears were gathering in the corner of his eyes. He was leaning against the wall for support. He looked up at me and only said one word.
“How?”
I told him about the suffering he endured in Endeavour’s treatment of him, the deterioration of his body at the hands of his quirk, how Endeavour brushed him aside until he had the last straw, how he had supposedly died but how there was never a body, then how his corpse was harvested by AFO, how he went back to his family home but saw that his death hadn’t changed anything, then he went back to AFO to become part of the LOV.
Todoroki’s tears were flowing freely at this point trying to comprehend what was being said about his brother. After a few moments, anger flared across his expression.
“This his all his fault! That bastard!” He shouted in anger, quirk activating on both sides.
“Todoroki, now is not the time. Thanks to Wanda, we can find a way to fix this.” Midoriya quickly cut in.
“I know this is hard to hear, but I promise we will fix this.” I say, trying to be reassuring.
Todoroki takes a few deep breaths to calm down, the Bakugou cuts in.
“What about handjob, what’s his tragic backstory?” He said bluntly.
“Well, you’re right in that sense. It is pretty tragic.”I say, as I delve into Shigaraki, or Shimura’s origin.
First, I tell them about his real name and his connection to Nana Shimura, the seventh holder of One For All and All Might’s mentor. Then I go into, the abuse he received from his father which triggered his quirk activation and how it destroyed his whole family. How he wandered the streets, being ignored by bystanders, until he was received by All For One where he was trained and brainwashed. And finally, it turns out that his quirk was actually implanted by All For One and the killing of his entire family was planned.
When I finished, their jaws might as well have been on the floor due to level of shock that permeated the atmosphere.
“How can one person be so evil.” Midoriya whispered in awe, as silent tears streaked down his face.
Bakugou quickly wrapped him in a hug and he melted. The emotions were clearly riding high but his energy tanked.
“I’m sorry that I brought down your mood after a stressful meeting, I just figured you guys would want to know.” I say, a pang of guilt coursing through my chest.
“It’s okay red, we appreciate your insight.” Bakugou said, seemingly the only one able to form words at this point.
I nod and make my way back to my dorm room with Eijirou in tow.
When we get back to my dorm, I end up crashing face first into the covers of my bed. Eijirou gently lifts my head in his lad and starts caressing my hair. Thoughts swarm around on my head as I wonder what will become if future. Likely sensing my distress, Eijirou pull me up to cuddle in his lap. Only then did I realise I was crying, as he wiped the tears of my face.
“Do you wanna talk about it?” He says gently.
“I’m so scared, Eijirou. I’m sacred that I’m gonna lose everything. After years of being ostracised, I finally found my people and now I might lose them all.” I said, looking utterly lost and heartbroken.
“It will be okay, Wanda. I believe we can fix this mess. Together.” He says, complete with determination and resilience.
After a few more minutes of cuddling and comforting, we both fell asleep. Dreaming of a future where we would all be happy and peaceful.

Chapter Text
The past couple of days have been hard for Eijirou, Midoriya, Bakugou, Todoroki and I. We were asked not to talk about anything we learnt on the meeting and act as normal as possible, so that no one would suspect anything was wrong.
I hate lying to my friends, especially when I’ve just started to feel like I actually belong here. Thankfully, Eijirou and the others have been really supportive. We all try and look out for each other when things get overwhelming. Unfortunately, I’ve been getting the worst of it. Since I actually got to visualise the horror of the upcoming future, I’ve been plagued with terrible nightmares. Sometimes they’d be a nasty mix of the past and future. I’ve barely gotten any sleep.
Today, we finally get to have our second meeting to come up with a game plan to change the future. We’ve just finished hero training and I’m headed to my room where I’m meeting the others before we head into to Nedzu’s office.
I open the door to see the others waiting for me.
“Hey guys.” I see a fake smile spread awkwardly across my cheeks, my tired appearance and the clear bags under my eyes revealing how I actually feel.
They all said their greetings and Eijirou just wrapped me in a hug and gave me a kiss on the forehead, probably sensing that I would need it given the state I was in. After that, we all made our way to Nedzu’s office.
When we entered the room, all the teachers and heroes were already waiting for us. As soon as we sat down, Nedzu started the meeting.
“Well, now that everyone is accounted for, I think it’s best we address the elephant in the room. How should go about changing the future?” He said.
“I believe I have a sort of suggestion.” I said, gaining the attention of everyone in the room.
“Go ahead, Miss Maximoff.” Nedzu says, giving me a nod.
I clear my throat before speaking,“As you all know, one of the abilities I have thanks to my quirk is reality warping. I’m not entirely sure what the extent of that power is, but I’m sure it will be useful for whatever the plan is going forward.” I say with all the confidence I can muster, despite my obvious nerves.
“Thank you for that, Miss Maximoff. I'm sure a plan centred around your particular ability would be the best course of action. Any objections?” He asked looking around the room. Nedzu’s question was met with silence which was both comforting and daunting at the same time.
“Perfect. Now, Miss Maximoff. I know you said you don’t know the true epitome of your power, but I must ask, how far have you gone with training it.” He asked, I could feel the curiosity in the room spiking as all eyes landed on me, waiting to a response.
“Well at a basic level, I can make things appear out of nowhere.” I say, making rabbit appear in my arms, a faint red glow coating my hands.
“The furthest I’ve gone with this ability is erasing things from existence,” I say making the rabbit disappear, “altering matter,” I say making the glass of water in front of me turn into ice, then dirt, then wood, then metal then back to water again, “and finally, erasing moments in time. I’m not going to sample that one for obvious reasons. The only downside is that if overuse my powers I get really tired and dizzy.” I finish, leaving the room in a state of shock at the versatility of my powers.
After a few moments everyone recovered from my ability display so Aizawa-sensei spoke up.
“Now that we know what we’re working with, how should we proceed?” He says in his typical monotonous voice.
“Well, in order to utilise Young Maximoff’s abilities in the most effective way, we must make sure the All For One and the league don’t figure what’s going on.” All Might said, earning a few nods and murmurs of agreement around the room.
After a few hours of deliberation, we had managed to come up with a plan of sorts. We first discussed each key component of how the hero society falls apart: The war, Jaku hospital, the escapes from Tartarus, Midoriya leaving UA, Stars and Stripes vs Shigaraki and then the final battle that we don’t know the full outcome of.
We figured out a way for me to use my powers in a way that combats each situation.
“So the first step is to destroy the nomus at Jaku hospital so that they won’t have any backup. Then, we should teleport Shigaraki and league to Tartarus or some kind of void so we can prevent the war from happening. Then we can make Tartarus floating island so that they would have no chance of getting back to Japan. Finally, we should deal with each villain individually. I have a theory of how to take down Shigaraki and the league without killing them and a way to finish off All For One.” I say, summarising everything we’ve discussed.
“I have reason to believe that Shigaraki could be innocent in all this.” I say, letting the absurd information sink in.
“What on Earth makes you say that, problem child?” Aizawa-sensei asks.
“Well, let me tell you his origin story. You see, Shigaraki Tomura’s name is actually Shimura Tenko. The grandson and only living relative of Shimura Nana, the seventh holder of One For All.” I say, All Might coughs up blood in pure shock and the rest of the room just stares on, trying to comprehend what I’ve just said.
I tell them how Shigaraki was treated by his father and how no one in his family tried to stop the abuse. How after a particularly bad beating, his quirk manifested and in his sheer panic he ended up killing his entire family and destroying the house. How after that he wandered the streets, battered and bruised but no one came to his aid. Until he was eventually found, raised and trained by All For One.
“So what makes you think he can be innocent after all of that.” Nedzu questions.
“Well, when I saw that event in my vision the last thing I saw was a young Shigaraki in the park with his sister. When his sister had moved to another part of the park to play in a tall man approached the young boy. He pressed 5 fingers to his forehead. When he was done he held his hand over the boys head with blue glow and then disappeared into a portal. Young Shigaraki continued playing as if nothing happened.” I say.
I look around to see various states of confusion around the room until Nedzu speaks up.
“So, All For One forced the decay quirk onto Shigaraki and then erased his memory so that he would end up killing his entire family and All For One would then be able to take him in as his successor.” He says.
“Exactly.” I reply.
“Jesus Christ.” I hear Present Mic mutter in shock.
“Not to mention the fact that he been under All For One brainwashing quirk since we was taken. I truly believe that I can heal his mind if given the chance.” I say.
“You have my full support, Young Maximoff.” All Might says clearly troubled by what has become of his mentor’s legacy.
“Thank you, All Might. Now should we discuss the other members of the league?”

“What do you mean the other members of the league? Don't tell me that they’re like this too.” Endeavour says hotly.
“Let me ask you something, Endeavour. What do you think makes a person choose a life of villainy? Because I promise you now, it’s not what you think.” I say, equally as frustrated.
“Well, a villain is someone who lacks morals and acts selfishly to gain what they want, regardless of consequences.” He says proudly.
“Well in that case, I know exactly which villain we should talk about next. Let me tell you the origin story of Dabi.” As I said those words, Todoroki stared at me wide eyed. Then a small smirk made its way onto his face. Bakugou wore a ferocious grin and Midoriya smiled smugly. Eijirou gave me a toothy grin as encouragement and so I dove into the sorrowful tale of Touya Todoroki aka Dabi.
“This story actually starts with you, Endeavour. See, let’s recall what we know about you, okay? You are the number one hero, your quirk is called Hellflame and you currently have 3 children. Correct?” I say, emphasis on currently. Looking sceptical he nods hesitantly.
“Good, now that we’ve established that, let’s talk about your first child, Touya.” His eyes widen and he furrows his brows in confusion.
“Touya Todoroki, the eldest of the Todoroki siblings died at age 14 in a fire. Or so we thought. Touya quirk is a fire type quirk with flames even stronger than Endeavour’s. Seeing the potential in his quirk, Endeavour raised Touya to believe that he could be the number one hero and surpass All Might as he was never able to do it himself. Unfortunately, Touya’s body couldn’t handle the severity of his quirk and so he was frequently burnt during his training. By this point Endeavour had given up on Touya and began to have other children in hopes that one would be able to surpass All Might but Touya never gave up in this belief and continued to train himself despite Endeavour’s disinterest in him. Until one day Touya asked Endeavour to watch him train at Sekoto Peak and after hours of waiting Endeavour never showed. Being filled with anger and fury, Touya unleashed his quirk but the flames quickly grew out of control due his emotional state and he burned to death. Touya’s body was salvaged by All For One who pieces him back together. He was in a coma for 3 years before waking up. The doctors explained that his quirk if overused again could kill him and that he’s better staying in the facility where they revived him. He refused and chose to return to his family but when he arrived he saw Todoroki Shoto being forced into the same brutal training he was forced into as a child. Touya had realised that even his own death couldn’t change Endeavour’s ways so he went back to the facility to join All For One in hopes of ending Endeavour’s hero career. Thus, Dabi was born.”
The tension in the room was suffocating. Midoriya had tears running down his cheeks, Bakugou was trembling in anger and Todoroki was glaring at this father with tear soaked cheeks and shaking with rage. I could feel the murderous aura emanating from Aizawa-sensei, Present Mic, All Might and Nedzu. As for Endeavour, his flames had gone out halfway through the story and now his head was in his hands and he was shaking like a leaf. Whether from anger or anguish, I couldn’t tell but I wasn’t done yet.
“Now according to your own definition, Endeavour. The only villain I see in this story is you.” I say, as if to add insult to injury.
He looked up at me from where he had buried his head in his hands, eyes swirling with an emotion I couldn’t define. As if he was waiting for me reveal more of his wrongdoings.
“As much as I would like to discuss this matter further. The literal fate of Japan is at jeopardy as we speak.” I say in a feeble attempt at breaking up the tension.

…
“Now that we’ve discussed both Shigaraki and Dabi, we can move forward with the plan.” I say, once again commanding everyone’s attention.
“Quite right, Miss Maximoff. Now, when do you suggest we start?” Nedzu asks.
“Well, to avoid any unwanted mishaps, we should start as soon as possible.” I reply, false confidence coating my words.
“Perfect, but to make this win as achievable as possible, I think All Might, Endeavour, Hawks, Present Mic, Mirko, Best Jeanist and Ryukyu should be the ones to destroy the nomus and detain Dr Ujiko and if need be Miss Maximoff can teleport the rest of the heroes as back up. While that’s going on, Miss Maximoff can teleport the league to the floating Tartarus. We can then decide how to go about dealing with each member of the league.” Nedzu concluded, receiving murmurs of agreement.
“Now that that’s all said and done, we should move forward with the plan in one week. I will contact each of you individually the details. Meeting adjourned.” As Nedzu said that, everyone began trickling out of the door.
With a heavy sigh, I buried my head in my hands as a wave of exhaustion swept over my body. I could feel Eijirou’s arms around me in an attempt at comfort.
We made our way out of the room and straight back to my room. Despite it only around being 6:30 in the evening, as soon as I crawled into bed with Eijirou at my side I drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
_______________
I was woken up to someone playing with my hair, I blearily opened my eyes to see Eijirou running his hands through my ginger hair.
“Good morning,” he said with a gentle smile, “How are you feeling?” He asked.
“I feel a bit better now that we’ve got a plan.” I say with a yawn.
“Yeah, me too.” He said planting a kiss on my forehead. Eijirou was visibly relieved when I said that, he was really worried about how everything had been affecting me these past few days.
After that, we got out of bed and Eijirou went to his room to get changed for school and then to the kitchen for some breakfast.
When I got to the kitchen, I put some cereal and milk in a bowl and sit down. While I was eating Mina strolled into the kitchen, peppy as usual.
“Hey, Wanda. What’s up?” She greeted with a smile.
“Hey, Mina. Nothing much, just tired I guess.” I reply, stifling a yawn.
A comfortable silence takes over as I continue eating and Mina moves about the kitchen. After a while we make our way to class to start the day ahead.

After a long and tiresome school day, I walk with Eijirou on our way back to the dorms. At the entrance I notice 3 figures next to Aizawa-sensei. As we get closer, my eyes widen as I recognise who was waiting there.
“Pietro…” I say, tears already welling up in my eyes.
“Wanda…” He says, turning around at light speed.
After a flash of light, Pietro was in front of me. Engulfing me in a massive hug. I pull away, tears dripping down my cheeks as a warm smile breaks out across my face.
“Я так по тебе скучала.” I whispered softly.
“Я тоже по тебе скучал.” He whispered back.
“How are you feeling? What are you doing here? How did you find me? When-” I say, asking rapid-fire questions.
“Slow down, сестренка-” He says, cutting me off, but before he could finish the other 2 figures approach us.
“Милая…” The voice of my father sends a chill down my spine. Our eyes meet for a second before I see my mother standing next to him. I stay frozen as if that would somehow make them unable to see me. I feel a warm hand rubbing circles on my back and look up to see Eijirou trying to ease my anxiety.
“Папа…мама…почему ты здесь?” I ask, my voice lined with trepidation.
“We came to see you, honey.” Mama started, a strained smile on her face.
“Why would want you do that.” My tone harsh and monotonous.
Her smile falters and papa looks visibly anxious. Before the atmosphere could get anymore tense, Pietro speaks up.
“It was my idea to visit you, Wanda. When I woke up, mama and papa were already waiting but when I looked around you weren’t there. I asked where you were but they kept avoiding the question. When we got home and you still hadn’t showed up, I demanded answers and they told you wanted to school abroad.” He said.
“So that’s what they told you,” I say with a scoff, “No, my dear brother, that is not what happened. After you almost died, mama and papa had decided they’d had enough of me being such a stain of their lives so they decided to ship me off to another country so they could forget my existence. I only got to pick the school, and the rest is history.” I say, glaring daggers at my so-called parents. The pain of that memory, still as clear as day in my mind.
“Other than that, I’m really happy to see you well, ребенок.” I say, walking straight past my parents and into the common room, Eijirou and Pietro trailing behind me.
“You know I’m older than you, right?” He says with a laugh.

Chapter Text
I spent the rest of the day catching up with Pietro and ignoring my parents. I introduced him to Eijirou and the rest of the class. I could see my parents eyes widen when I introduced Eijirou as my boyfriend, as if they were shocked that anyone would want to be with be romantically involved with me. I kept ignoring them, they are no longer worthy of my time.
By the time we were eating dinner, Aizawa-sensei came back and not-so-discreetly took my parents away to talk with Principal Nedzu in tow. I know nothing good can come of that conversation, for them at least.
When I finished eating, Aizawa-sensei came back in the room.
“Wanda, your parents said they want to talk to you. They said they won’t leave unless they get to speak with you.” He says, frustration dripping off of his words.
I nodded as I stood up, my friends all sending me worried looks and glances. Pietro and Eijirou sending comforting smiles. My heart was in my ears by the time I was approaching the door. I was nervous but I knew I needed to confront them, I didn’t have the courage to do it all these years and I didn’t want to shatter the image of a perfect family for Pietro’s sake but no more. It’s about time I look out for myself.
After taking a few deep, shuddering breaths I opened the door.
“Wanda, Милая. Let’s go home, okay. Your Мама and I are ready for you to come back with us now.” My father said, as if he was coaxing a child.
“Yes, милый. We’re sorry for how things were but this can all be over now.” Mother says with a fake smile plastered on her face.
…
Sorry? They were sorry? After all these years and they were just sorry. I chuckled darkly as memories of being jeered at wherever I went flashed through my mind, memories of being left to starve almost every day.
“Sorry? You’re sorry? Wow, I never thought I’d see the day.” I say feigning disbelief.
I see them exchange relieved glances at my words.
“Well, go get your brother so we end this nightmare.” Mother says, visibly at ease.
“Oh, I think you misunderstood me, Mother.” I spat the word out with as much venom as I could muster. They both freeze at my sudden change in demeanour.
“You really expected me to just run into your arms because you stuttered out some half-assed apology for all the absolute horse-shit you put me through for all these years?” My question was met with stunned silence, I could hear everyone inside stop moving as I spoke.
“Did you ever, even for a second, think to get your heads out of your asses long enough to consider what it felt like to be me for just a day? To be mocked and ridiculed on a daily basis? To be called a monster constantly since you were old enough to speak? For your own family, your own flesh and blood, those that are meant to support you through thick and thin to starve you, punish you, neglect your very existence for something completely out of your control?” My voice rising in volume, my hair starting to float as my hands glowed red.
“I finally found, people who love and appreciate me, who accept me as I am, something my own parents failed to do and you think you can just take that all away and drag me back to that hell hole?” I question, now towering over them, floating a foot in the air. “I’m not the same weak little girl you used to push around, so if I ever see either of you again, you will regret it.” When I finish, giving them a withering glare, they nod their heads so fast I’m they didn’t fall off. And just as their about to high-tail it out of here, with a wave of my hand they vanish into thin air and I slowly lower to ground.
I take a few calming breaths as my hair stops floating and the red glow disappears. I feel a pair of arms circle my waist and I sag from exhaustion already knowing who it is.
“Where’d they go?” Eijirou asked gently, voice just above a whisper.
“I sent them back home. It took a lot of effort not to just… make them disappear, for good.” I say, tired yet still frustrated.
“Well, I’m glad you didn’t and you’re stronger for it. I’m so proud of you.” He says, adoration clear in his tone as he kisses my forehead.
“They should thank me for saving them the plane ride.” He huffs in laughter and we go back inside the dorms.
When we get back to the common room, everyone’s eyes land on me. Aizawa-sensei and Principal Nedzu walk up to me.
“Miss Maximoff, we have a lot to discuss. You and your brother should stop by my office tomorrow after school but first and foremost, are you okay?” Principal Nedzu asked, rare sincerity coming from the chimera. The question kinda caught me off guard.
“Yeah, I should be fine.” I say, nodding.
“You did well, Problem child.” Aizawa-sensei says, ruffling my hair. “Get some rest, you’ll need it after what happened tonight.” He and Principal Nedzu leave the dorms.
Before Eijirou and I leave for bed, Pietro walks up to me and engulfs me in a big hug.
“Мне очень жаль, сестренка. Ты такой сильный.” He whispered, softly.
“Спасибо. Спокойной ночи.” I whisper back.
By now, everyone in the common room had been ushered to bed by our ever punctual class prez Iida. So Eijirou and I made our way to my dorm. With his arms wrapped around me my eyes drifted shut and I fell into a dreamless sleep.
