Whispers lingered in the hallways, following them around.
“Is it true,” they said.
They were, of course, the other students who hadn ’t gone through what they , the experiment survivors, went through.
And yet, despite not having gone through the experience of being temporarily shrunk—
They whispered.
They whispered as if they knew what was going on as if there were other things that happened other than running from insects.
Temporary was the shrinkage, yet the repercussions—
There was no getting away from the fact everyone knew something happened, even though the government locked down what information was shared.
Temporary—
Temporary wasn ’t temporary.
