Watching Stereotypical Ken’s chest rise and fall in his sleep, the other Ken was tempted to reach out and run his fingers through the man’s perfect blonde hair. But he knew that might wake the man up, and then the moment would end. And he had wanted this for so long.
There was something about Stereotypical Ken that set him apart. He was always so hungry for affection. Always so loyal. Always so eager to please. For Stereotypical Barbie, that is.
For the longest time, the only way to divert Stereotypical Ken’s attention even for a second had been to try to get Stereotypical Barbie’s attention. To make Stereotypical Ken think the other Ken wanted his Barbie.
She was beautiful enough, accomplished enough, and smart enough. But Ken had his own Barbie. And she was sweet, smart, and beautiful, too. He didn’t need another Barbie. But a Ken…this Ken in particular…
And now Stereotypical Barbie had left, and he finally had Stereotypical Ken’s attention solely on him. He’d foster any kind of competitive streak it took for Ken to keep that attention where it belonged.
