Work Text:

Enid is woken up by the sounds of running water coming from the bathroom, she takes a tired glance at her clock which spelled out the time of 2 AM. Enid groans and puts the pillow over her head trying to drown out the sounds of water.

Enid had no idea why Wednesday was up at such early hours of the night, but it wasn’t unusual for the girl to sneak out of the campus at all hours of night, Enid just assumed she was on her way to one of her many sleuthing adventures.

She was just happy that she didn’t have to be involved.

Or so she had thought.

The next sound she heard was a lot more distinctive, the sounds of glass shattering immediately jolted Enid out of her way slumber.

Enid quickly hopped out of bed and ran to the bathroom.

“Wednesday, what's going on!?” Enid exclaimed swinging the bathroom door open completely ready to give the girl a lecture on how some people need their beauty sleep, especially since she had a date with Ajax tomorrow.

But that thought immediately freezes once she sees the state of her best friend.

The girls back was turned to Enid but she could see the way she was breathing heavily and visibly shaking. The mirrors glass was shattered all around on the bathroom floor Enid was careful to step around it as she made her way to Wednesday.

“Wednesday? You okay?” Enid asks gently raising a hand to her shoulder.

Wednesday’s heavy breathing seems to halt at the touch of Enid as she turns to face the girl.

What Enid sees stuns her, Wednesday was paler than usual, caked in sweat, with dark circles forming under her eyes, she truly looked like she was at death’s door.

Which was something Enid was sure Wednesday would smile at if she didn’t look like she would pass out at any given second.

“Oh my God, Wednesday what happened!?” She says frantically now latching onto both of Wednesday’s shoulders.

She doesn’t reply for a second and Enid begins to wonder if she was even still conscious until she finally hears Wednesday speak.

“Enid, You have to help me.” She hoarsely says.

“What’s going on!? Are you sick? Did you drink too much of your poison collection, I told you Mithridatism was a bad idea!!” Enid frantically lectured.

“Enid, i’m not Wednesday.” Wednesday scratchily replied.

“What are you talking about? It has to be the fever, look I'll get you some water so you go lay down and-”

“ENID!” Wednesday snaps startling her, Wednesday might’ve gotten angry at a lot of things that Enid had done through the years, but she never once yelled at her.

“Okay…who are you then?” She hesitantly asks.

“Wow thought I'd be more memorable after that fight we had, even gave you a parting gift.” She said gesturing to her left eye.

Enid freezes not wanting to believe what was really happening, because it was impossible right?

“Oh my God…Tyler!?” Enid eyes widen as the girl nods her head.

“Nice to see you again, Werewolf Barbie.” Was all he could muster before Wednesday collapsed right into Enid's arms as everything faded to black.

Wednesday Addams awoke to found herself chained to a chair right next to Tyler Galpin how she ended up here she had no idea, one minute she was running through the woods fleeing from her stalker with a lost Tyler Galpin that had escaped the Willowhill transport en route to the hospital, only to find herself here next to the boy who she blamed for most of her problems.

She quickly scans her surroundings but quickly realizes it would appear they were both in a null void.

Because there were no surroundings.

There was nothing, anywhere!

Not even a floor.

Just pure darkness.

How she was even able to see Tyler across from her seemed to be a miracle within itself.

“Tyler what’s going on!?” Wednesday accuses feeling he must’ve had something to do with the predicament they were both in.

“How the hell do I know, I woke up here just like you!” Tyler immediately reflects.

“I see you two are awake.” A voice says catching both of their attention, not because it was unfamiliar but because it was eerily familiar.

Both Tyler and Wednesday shifts their heads to the direction of where the voice came from only to see someone step out of the darkest shadows directly in front of them.

Both Tyler and Wednesday’s eyes widen.

There was not many things in life that puzzled or surprised Wednesday Addams, when the breaks went out of her bicycle at the age of 8, she was only pleasantly surprised she figured if she broke a lot of bones maybe when she arrived at the hospital they’d get her a full body x-ray that she could eventually hang on her wall.

When Pugsley was struck by lightning after she had told him to fly a kite outside during that thunderstorm and escaped with his only injury being spiked hair she was only slightly puzzled (and a bit disappointed).

But what she saw before her, was as equally surprising as it was puzzling.

So much so her immediate reaction was to turn to Tyler who’s face reflected what she internally felt.

“What, The Great Wednesday Addams doesn’t have anything to say?”

She only stares at the person before her.

“And of course you don’t, I'm the only backbone you got, you pathetic coward.” The voice says looking directly at Tyler.

“Hyde.” Tyler says fearfully but nevertheless through gritted teeth.

Hyde Tyler smiles looking between the two as if they were his prey.

And maybe they were.

“Did you trap us here?” Wednesday asks cutting to the chase, her initial shock already wearing off.

Hyde Tyler laughs crossing his arms in nonchalance, “That would’ve been a fun little magic trick wouldn’t it?” “But no, for once I guess you can say I'm innocent, must’ve been that new boyfriend you acquired.” The Hyde teased.

“My stalker?” Wednesday questions.

“I really don’t know what his obsession with you is my darling, but I must say, I’m kinda jealous.” The Hyde says bending to meet her gaze his finger tips gliding across her cheek as he pushes a piece of stray hair behind her ear.

“Leave her alone, she has nothing to do with this!” Normie Tyler nearly growls out but even she can smell the fear radiating off of him, she knew the Hyde must definitely smelled the same.

“What do you mean? She has everything to do with this, she’s the reason we’re here, stuck in her puny miserable little body.” Hyde Tyler hisses.

Wednesday’s eyes widen at this, “Wait, are we in my mind?”

Hyde Tyler eerily grins, “It would appear so.” he steps away from her and laughs as he points a finger at Normie Tyler. “And you thought our mind was dark.” He smirks.

Normie Tyler grits his teeth harder.

“Why are we tied up and your not?” Normie Tyler spits his eyes shooting daggers at his Hyde self.

“Well I knew once you both awoke you would probably come for me right? Thought I'd beat you to the punch.” He shrugged, “But I figured this would also be a good opportunity.” Hyde Tyler admitted walking around the two of them.

He suddenly grabs the back of Wednesday’s chair and scoots her closer directly in from of Normie Tyler.

“A good opportunity for what?” Normie Tyler questions.

“To make sure you never get out of here.” Hyde Tyler darkly laughs.

Tyler immediately struggles against his chains to no avail, “You think this is a game Hyde?”

“Life’s nothing but one big game, I mean isn’t that right Wednesday?” Hyde Tyler turns his attention to the spooky kooky girl that had managed to attract not only his Normie self, but his Hyde self as well. Her darkness was like a buffet that he could sink his teeth into endlessly.

Wednesday eyes narrow.

“I mean the way we-well I played you…” Hyde Tyler laughs almost gleefully this time. “The look on your face in the police station was damn near perfection.” He gloats.

Normie Tyler bows his head in complete shame, not even daring to look Wednesday in the eyes as she stares at him in perplexity.

“I mean even when you knew it was me, you still couldn’t bring yourself to believe it, at least not completely..” He says, “But when I asked you how does it feel, and you just stood there with those cesspools you call eyes and asked me, How did what feel? And I responded…To lose.” He suddenly broke out in another fit of laughter.

“The look on your face was more beautiful and priceless than any Picasso painting.” He says squeezing her face between his right hand.

“Enough!” Normie Tyler shouts.

“Which is WHY!” Hyde Tyler raises his voice as he snaps his fingers and Wednesday suddenly finds herself freed from the chair and chains and standing directly in front of Hyde Tyler.

“How did you-”

“I decided to let you live Wednesday.” He says cutting her off.

“I think your forgetting this is my mind and my body, and I decide who stays in it and leaves.” Wednesday quickly retorts staring daggers at Hyde before her.

Hyde Tyler only smirks, “Usually yes, but it would appear your physical form is dying, and with that so is your mind, leaving myself, and the not so handsome version of myself over there, the strongest mind and overall subconscious.” He explains. “Which means the only way your getting out of here is if one of us let’s you, and since my useless self over there is all tied up, it appears your only hope is me.” He deviously smirks.

Wednesday nearly scoffs in annoyance before she quickly turns to Normie Tyler, “ Tyler this is YOUR mind, YOUR subconscious, don’t let him take it from you!” Wednesday demands.

Hyde Tyler quickly teleports from in front of her directly into the chair she was once sitting in facing Normie Tyler.

“Except you can’t right? Your not strong enough.” Hyde insists. “If you were, Thornhill would’ve never been able to awaken us.” He guiles.

Normie Tyler opens his mouth to say something but it quickly dies within him when he realizes Hyde was right, if he had of just been strong in the first place, this would’ve never happened, he would’ve never had to hurt all those innocent people, he would’ve never had to lie and betray Wednesday, he would’ve never had to make his dad worry, and he definitely wouldn’t have had to sit here listening to his Hyde self mock him and berate him at every turn.

“Tyler you once told me you weren’t a terrible person, which in your mind you believed to be true, even when Hyde was awakened-”

Hyde Tyler laughs interrupting Wednesday, “WRONG, we are one in the same Tyler, There is no me without you, and certainly no you without me! Meaning since there is NO goodness in me, there’s certainly NO goodness within you!” He touts.

“Tyler if you really believed that, you wouldn’t have hesitated to kill me back in the woods-”

Hyde Tyler suddenly teleports directly behind Wednesday grabbing a hold of her waist.

“Wednesday, this is your golden opportunity as well, there’s just as much darkness in you as there is me, there’s no other perfect match.” Hyde insists hugging behind her.

She wiggles out of his grasps but not before elbowing him directly in his stomach.

“Was that supposed to hurt? Your weakening cockroach, but I can fix you if you just stay with me.” Hyde Tyler insists.

“I’m not leaving without Tyler.” Wednesday harshly bites back.

“The normie boy? Mr. Sunshine? Wednesday he’s nothing more than a weak, spineless, coward, no one will miss him, and plus don’t you know, 3’s a crowd?” He hisses in irritation.

“Tyler, you heard what he said earlier, without you there is no him, meaning he couldn’t get rid of you if he tried, he’s baiting you into switching full control over to him!”

The voided room suddenly begins to quake as cracks suddenly form beneath them.

Hyde Tyler’s eyes widen as his glare rests solely on Wednesday alone.

“What the hell do you think your doing cockroach?” Hyde hisses at her as he looks between her and opening ground.

“Giving him an out!” Wednesday clutches her necklace that her mother had previously given her happy to find it still there. She rips it off of her person and quickly runs towards Tyler as the cracks ripple even further through the black void.

Hyde Tyler goes to grab for her but the unstable ground causes him to stumble.

Wednesday struggles to reach him with the void shaking all around them now, but she pursues anyway.

“Tyler this is my mothers necklace, it’s a strong talisman that should get you back.”

“Get me back?” Tyler wonders eyeing her incredulously, “What about you!?” He asks.

“It’s clear whatever my stalker did to me, has left me in quite bad shape, but if you can get out, maybe you can help Enid find a cure.” Wednesday explains hurredly.

Tyler’s beyond words, “Wednesday I betrayed you, what makes you think I won’t as soon as I get out of here? It won’t just be me remember? He’ll come with.” He says looking and Hyde Tyler struggling to regain his footing.

“Well, your just gonna have to fight huh?” Wednesday smally smiles.

“Wednesday I can’t do this without you, Your way strong than me-””Not now, Tyler this is completely up to you, now hurry picture being outside of this void with everything you have in you, the necklace should be able to do the rest.” She quickly explains placing it around his neck for him.

Tyler nods, “Wednesday I'm gonna come back for you and when I do, it’ll just be me I promise.” He suddenly sternly says his eyes bearing directly into hers.

She reaches out her pinky and interlocks it with his, “I’m gonna hold you to that.” She nods.

He nods again closing his eyes and does as she instructed, everything around him begins to fade as everything around his disappears including Wednesday.

-

He jolts awakes the cold rain a rude awakening as he finds himself coming too.

The first thing he notices is he’s back in his own body, still in his bloody prison clothes that was mostly in tatters.

He searches his surroundings to find he’s in the woods in front of a pretty big old worn down house.

He immediately approaches the house his mind only focused on escaping the cold rain.

He wiggles the front door knob surprised that it actually was unlocked. He quickly makes his way inside closing the door behind him and immediately surveying his surroundings. This house had been abandoned for a while, cob webs and dust filled the empty home reminding him almost of Laurel Gates home. Only it wasn’t nearly as big.

His mind is in a haze trying to piece his memories together as he finds himself looking into a mirror, a “W” necklace looking back at him confirms his memories.

“Wednesday.” Tyler whispers holding the necklace.

“Actually they call me Goody.” A voice suddenly says behind him.

He immediately turns around startled only to become even more frightened and confused when he sees who spoke.

It looked exactly like Wednesday except this girl dressed like she was back in the 1600s and hand white hair instead of black.

“Wednesday?” Tyler questions.

“Goody my child, Goody! As in Goody Addams, nice to meet you Tyler.” The mysterious girl approaches him.

He stares at her oddly, but nods, “Laurel mentioned you..you defeated Crackstone.” Tyler remembers.

“Damn straight I did, now I'm here to defeat your demons and cure my ancestor, her time is not yet up and there’s much to be done.” Goody replies.

“H-how are you still alive??” Tyler questions.

“Uhg it’s a long story but basically I was inside Wednesday when the stalker placed some kind of spell that transported you and the hyde into her, and you know what they say…3’s a crowd so I got physically pushed out.” She explains simply.

His mind was still flooding with questions but he ignores them and ask what he thinks is the most important.

“Wait, your gonna help me save Wednesday and defeat Hyde?” He questions.

“That’s what I said, can you keep up?” She says irritably.

“Okay and how exactly are you going to do that?” Tyler shoots back, “I have no idea how to overcome a Hyde after awakening it, no one does, not even Faulkner.” He reminds.

“Yes, that is true, But as I told her long ago, Wednesday is the key to figuring that out.” Goody reveals. “It’s in her destiny to figure it out.”

“Okay but how are we gonna do that, Wednesday needs a cure and the only person who probably knows how to cure her is her stalker, and we have no idea who that is.” Tyler reiterates thinking this woman was definitely not dealing with a full deck.

“Actually, I do.” Goody says smugly.

“Oh really?” Tyler Scoffs, “Who?”

“Them.” Goody says pointing to the staircase as a figure in all black makes its way down.

“Your the one that’s been stalking Wednesday and poisoning her, what kind of magic did you use on us!?” Tyler angrily says approaching them.

“WHAT!?” Tyler immediately grabs the person by the collar of their hoodie.

The figures head remains low, as they speak barely above a whisper, “You know I almost didn’t believe it when I heard you had gotten a girlfriend, and one so…interesting at that. I just had to see for myself who this girl was, where she thought she could just take me away from you.” The voice angrily says through a tear filled voice.

Tyler freezes in confusion than completely anger consumes him, “Who the hell are you!?” He sneers yanking the hoodie off of the figure only for his heart to skip several beats.

“She’s going to tell us how to cure Wednesday, Tyler, simply because I think she would like a cure for Hydes as well.” Goody explains.

His breath hitches in his throat as he finds his head suddenly pounding.

The Hyde inside him that has been quiet until this point, growls and howls deep within him as Tyler struggles to remain in control.

He couldn’t be seeing things right.

He couldn’t.

This had to be some kind of trick from this witch before him.

This was not possible.

There was no reality where this possible.

But he asks it all the same.

“Mom?”
