There were stars all around her, it was like being in a blank void full of little bright lights, each one flickering and glimmering. While it felt like there was solid ground beneath her as she laid there, she still felt like she was floating.
Everything was calm, peaceful, as she watched the little bright lights of stars until many of the stars took shape. The stars quickly became the cold glaring eyes of many cats, all the cold gazes staring at her. She felt a cold ripple spread through her fur as she laid there on her belly and paws. The many eyes and presence of so many StarClan cats was making her want to flee but her legs wouldn't budge, they were almost frozen in place, almost like she was paralyzed or frozen in place.
Amongst the cluster of cats that were taking on the shapes of cats, warriors, and medicine cats who have long passed, she saw a snow white cat with long fluffy fur and steely blue eyes stepped out of the group of StarClan Cats and approached her.
Her heart leapt with joy at seeing the large fluffy white tom cat standing before her. She almost forgot all about the formalities as she meowed his name. "Icewhisker!"
Oh how she wanted to cuddle into his fur and bask in his presence, feeling warm and safe!
"Calm yourself, Snakeblood." His deep voice brought her back to attention and Snakeblood allowed herself to relax as she breathed in deeply. But as she gazed into her deceased mate's eyes, Snakeblood saw his steely blue gaze softening and she couldn't help the rumbling purr building up in the back of her throat.
"Snakeblood." He spoke again after a few moments of silence had passed. Her ears perked at hearing his deep and warm voice saying her name once more.
"Yes?" She asked.
Another cat stepped out from the cluster of StarClan Cats and this time she heard a lilting voice speak as a ginger she-cat stepped forward.
Poisonfang! She wanted to call out to her sister but she couldn't.
"When the stream fills with blood, a twig will guide the way."
Snakeblood strained her ears as she heard the voice again, her sister's words repeating once more and Icewhisker calling her name.

The stream will fill up with blood? What could this all mean?
"What do you mean?" Snakeblood stood up now, looking between her deceased mate and sister. "Icewhisker? Poisonfang? Is someone going to die?" She asked but as she asked this, the words were repeated back at her, only this time, Icewhisker's and Poisonfang's voices blended into the voices of all of StarClan.
"No! Wait!" Snakeblood yowled, trying to make herself heard over the StarClan cats. Panic overcame her as she felt the ground disappear beneath her and the StarClan Cats started fading away before her. "Poisonfang! Icewhisker!" She cried but everything went black.

The sun was finally gone, sinking into the horizon, leaving behind the gray-blue hues of evening and the first twinkling lights of Silverpelt above. A white tabby cat was gazing at the stars. Finally when the sun had disappeared into the horizon completely, she rose to her paws and shook her fur, trying to keep her excitement under control. Today, no, tonight Fernpaw was going to become a warrior at long last.
"Fernpaw, Yellowpaw, Peachpaw, Claypaw, it's time." Said a calm but stern voice. It was the CometClan deputy, Lilydream.
Fernpaw felt her body tremble with excitement as she heard her three littermates stirring from their nests, along with some of the other apprentices. It was then that she heard their leader call out to the clan.
"Let all cats old enough to gaze at the night sky gather around the comet." That was the sign for all the clan cats to come forth. As she stepped out of the cluster of Cosmo flowers and shrubs that made up the apprentices' den, she saw Lilydream, a white Tom padding away, his tail twitching with some excitement but then she saw a pale gray tom with what seemed like tiny specks of snow in his fur approaching. It was her mentor, Aquapearl.
Aquapearl sat on his haunches with his pale green eyes full of affection for her. "I hope you're ready." He purred. "Soon you'll be a warrior."
Fernpaw purred back, touching her nose to her soon to be former mentor's shoulder fur. "Of course I'm ready! I was born ready." She meowed back.
Aquapearl chuckled just as Yellowpaw, Peachpaw, and Claypaw finally stepped out of the apprentice's den. The gray warrior flicked his tail at Fernpaw's nose playfully as he walked away, "You'll make a great warrior."
Claypaw, a brown she cat apprentice let out a soft yawn as she stretched her limbs free of sleep. "I thought this day would never come!" She said excitedly, shifting anxiously on her feet as she said this.
Yellowpaw shook his head, his green gaze narrowing a bit, "We're almost warriors now. We should start acting like it!" He scolded.
Claypaw poked her tongue out at him, only to be pounced on by her littermate. Fernpaw shook her head at seeing the two tussling about as her remaining littermate, Peachpaw, sat on her other side and quietly started grooming his fur. While Claypaw was playful, mischievous, and extremely good at battling and Yellowpaw was serious and quick tempered, Peachpaw was quiet and observant, and thoughtful. He was also very meticulous. Yellowpaw teased him about their littermate being born an Elder or a medicine cat.
Fernpaw shook her head at the memories and thoughts before looking around.
The CometClan camp was set in a small hollow that was covered by thick branching trees and various vines but right at the center, the heart of the hollow was the hollowed out hunk of rock that served as the Leader's den. The rock was said to have come from beyond the heavens where StarClan resided.
The elders used to tell tales of how a mysterious loner would see bright balls of fire streaking across the sky and the loner had chased after the shooting star until he was led to where CometClan was finally formed and settled; that loner was the very first leader of CometClan, calling himself Cometstar.
Cometstar was said to be able to read stars and patterns in the Sky that would tell him of upcoming dangers.
Sitting atop the ages old comet was the leader, Gingerstar, her amber eyes staring down at all the cats that were starting to gather. Fernpaw felt Peachpaw brush against her lightly.
"It's time." Her brother said and the four littermates took their first steps towards the circle of their clanmates waiting for their warrior ceremonies to start.
