Chapter 1: Crowley

Chapter Text

Demons weren’t virtuous, particularly Crowley.

His faith had been shattered millennia ago.

He never wanted anything to do with prudence.

He thought temperance might be a sort of tropical disease.

And as far as he was concerned, the only justice in the world was what tiny bit a being could seize for his, her, or themself.

But, in one particular case, he made an exception.

Because there was one being to whom he gave all his love.

Every day, he had hope that sentiment might be returned.

And for centuries, he held this hope only with the strongest fortitude.

Chapter 2: Aziraphale

Chapter Text

Aziraphale was a virtuous angel, in his own particular way.

Some virtues were easy. Justice came quite naturally to him, though he didn’t always see it as black and white as angels should.

He practiced prudence regularly, most especially when dealing with his superiors.

Temperance was trickier with regards to alcohol, and foods, and plays, but never with forgiveness.

But there was no angel who could match him in faith in God and Her Plan; in hope for humanity, and love for all beings, even his enemies.

Especially his Enemy.

He just wished he had the fortitude to admit it.
