Work Text:
Right Hand Man stared at the piles of paperwork before him on his desk, frustrated at the mess that was today and feeling like he hadn't made a dent on the work before him.
As much as Right wanted to strew the papers everywhere, to just flip his desk over and yell into the skies, he knew that wouldn't help anything and just make yet another mess he would need to clean up.
So Right just mumbled under his breath as he quickly got up from his chair to walk for a while, just needing a break from leading the Toppats for a few minutes.
Reginald made leading an entire criminal clan seem so easy...
Right let out yet another frustrated growl as he walked the halls, most Toppats either moving out the way or slipping into nearby rooms to not invoke any fury from the clearly agitated leader.
He wasn't sure where he was headed, but Right just kept walking, trying to drown out the stresses of the day before eventually having to go back to work.
As Right turned yet another corner, he saw Henry Stickmin leaned against the handrail of the hallway, just staring away outside into space and looking quite ragged himself.
No words needed to be said as Right got next to Henry, gently grabbing his hand as Henry leaned his head onto Right, the two just looking out into the vastness of space for the longest time.
"Shit day for you too, Righty?", Henry asked, letting out an exhausted sigh as Right replied to the question.
"The Government raid today led to several injured and no decent information being found, not to mention the Elites want to throw me their budgeting ideas for next year now and every time I think I've made progress on paperwork, someone comes in with what fucking feels like even more papers for me to look at.
So yeah, shit day.
How did life crap on you today, Hen?"
"Turns out the Wall really doesn't have Reginald, and they bumped up security from when I've last escaped so that was a time.
And after I got back, Sven told me that Sureshot was down with a bug and I was going to be a substitute in a heist, which went to hell because the little swedish man didn't want to get dirty in the vents.
We got the treasure and everyone else back mostly as fine as you can get fighting off several guards, but I had to file all the paperwork documenting everything on the mission because it was originally Sureshot's or something and I just needed a few minutes to not look at words and decompress just abit."
Right gave Henry's hand a firm squeeze as the latter leaned in more, the two just letting the other know that they were there at that moment and letting the stresses of the day wash away for a little while.
Life may not have been going well for the man that went from being a simple right hand to having to lead a whole criminal organization or the fellow that went from trying to get by in life to being blackmailed and things going wrong from there.
But the two had each other, and they both knew that with every raging storm life threw it at them, there would atleast be a clearing on the other side.
