Jeno is so far having a normal day. He attended meetings that his mom had assigned to him. He was one of the directors in the corporation owned by his family. It was a small company that had grown into a multi-company corporation that was built by his father, and when his father had passed away, his mom took over. Jeno and his siblings, three of them all took business majors and MBA after, because they wanted to help his mom manage the company.
Honestly, Jeno can do it, no need for his brothers to take up such major, he wanted them to enjoy their lives and follow what they dreamed for, but his brothers just shrugged their shoulders and took upon themselves to graduate the same major as their older brother. Jeno, although did not show it, is thankful for his brothers. Going back to the matter at hand, he is bored. He had been listening to this meeting for almost three hours, going on and on. For the record, he doesn’t want to be a director right away, he wanted to start from scratch however his mother insisted that he needed to know how to manage the company as soon as possible. He doesn’t know her reason but he just went and accepted the position. Learning everything in a year and surprised himself that he was actually good at it. Most of the comments is him, being natural at business.
Her mom is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation guiding him and his brothers in managing the different affiliate of their company Richemont Corp.
He sighed softly and looked at his phone that is on the table. His fingers itch to grab it and text his brothers, just to bug them and ask them what they are doing because he is bored. He was about to just follow his intrusive thoughts when suddenly his phone lighted and vibrated like it knows Jeno was bored. He smiled, excused himself and walked out as he signals his subordinates to continue the meeting. His smile goes wide upon seeing who called.
“Mommy!” he happily says when he answered his phone.
“Mr. Lee? Are you the guardian of Mrs. Lee?” Jeno paused, looked at his phone and checked the caller id. It was correct. It’s his mom’s cell.
“Yes, this is him.” He answered, furrowing his brow wondering why this person has his mom’s phone.
“I’m sorry to say this, but your mom is currently in the Emergency Room of the General Hospital. She fainted on the street and one kind stranger took her here. Is it possible for you---“the person wasn’t able to say another word when Jeno rushed his words answering her and running. Calling his driver along the way.
That day, they found out that their mom has two years at most to live. She has stage four colon cancer.
That day, Jeno’s world had crumbled.
He doesn’t know how to break the news to his brothers, especially to their youngest who is currently not in the country and somewhere abroad. His brother Donghyuck, although in the middle of the meeting immediately came to the hospital, trying to not cry and show it to their mom, who just smiles sadly at the both of them as they wait for the arrival of their youngest. They were informed by his secretary that they are taking the earliest flight and they will be back after fifteen hours the latest.
That day, Jeno promised that he will take care of his mom and took responsibility in being the parent to his sibling and the new CEO of their Corporation.
