Work Text:
Stepping into his apartment, Kokonoi runs a hand through his hair, ruffling his locks from their normal position and into a more natural fall. He then takes his shoes off and hangs up his Black Dragon coat on the peg to his right.
“Finally, back home,” he mumbles to himself under his breath, walking further into the apartment where he hears the sound of music echoing through the corridors.
It’s not loud by any means and Kokonoi let’s the tension fall from his shoulders. It’s the sign that his brother is home, just where he should be after a day at school.
He’s got that J-rock band on, one that Kokonoi has bought him tickets to time and time again whenever they announce a performance. It doesn’t matter how many seats they have available. 100? 10? 1? He will get them for his brother. After all, he really doesn’t have anyone to spend his money on, apart from Inupi, as long as it’s for shoes and shoes alone.
Walking down the corridor to the bedrooms, the music continues to get louder, bleeding through the cracks between his brothers door and into the wide space before it.
Kokonoi does, however, find it unusual that the younger hasn’t come out to greet him yet. He gets sent an alert when the front door opens — for security purposes only — so he always knows when Kokonoi gets home, even if he isn’t here himself.
‘Maybe he’s just sleeping,’ is one of the many reasons the older does come up with. Of course there could be many other things in play. Maybe he’s in the shower, or treating himself to a bath, who knows?
Even so, he’s got to be behind the door, right?
Kokonoi arrives at his brothers door and knocks, rapping his knuckles against the wood as he calls, “Michi? I’m home!”
He waits, one second, two seconds.. no answer. His manicured eyebrows furrow as a slight panic begins to brew around his heart. What if his brother had fallen or had an accident, and now he’s passed out in the floor?
Urgently, Kokonoi wraps his hand around the doorknob and twists it, throwing the door open with such force it leaves a hole in the wall beside it. Whatever, he will get someone to fix it later.
He scans the room, eyes darting for the speaker first, a 1 million yen thing his brother had actually begged him to get. Yes it’s expensive, but who is he if he doesn’t spend a little of his money on his family? Music pores out of it. He doesn’t recognise the track, but it’s definitely from that band his brother likes. He shakes his head, that’s besides the point.
Kokonoi scans the room, looking for a tuft of black hair sticking out from crumpled bedsheets. Nothing. His eyes dart to the ensuite bathroom. The doors wide open and the lights are off.
He looks back to the bed once more, and this time he spots something he didn’t see before. It looks to be a letter. Kokonoi lets himself walk closer before confirming that it is in fact a letter, written for yours truly, judging by the ‘Kokonoi Hajime’ written with cut pieces of magazine on the front.
“What..” he whispers dumbly as he picks it up from his brothers wrinkled sheets. The letter is light — of course it is, he doesn’t know what he was expecting. A miniature bomb? Who knows. Nevertheless, he has an idea about who it’s from, unfortunately.
He slits the envelope open with the point of his manicured nails — he takes pride in his nail care, it’s of upmost importance for someone like him — and takes a deep breath before pulling out what looks to be a folded piece of lined paper. They couldn’t have put the effort in to give him plain?
He drops the envelope and opens the letter. It reads as follows;
Kokonoi Hajime, Elite Guard Caption of the 10th Generation of Black Dragons.
It starts off professional enough.
Hi!!! It’s Mikey!! I got your brother, hehe, want him back? Come to the shrine! You know which one, don’t pretend you haven’t any clue. We’ll give you two hours to come get him or we may just.. ‘deflower’ if you get what I mean ;) haha, I’m joking (or am I?)!! I can just imagine your face right now!
Well? Hurry up and stop reading! Or we may just destroy what’s left of your brothers innocence!
Sincerely, Toman :p
Kokonoi rips the paper up right then and there. The gall of Mikey. And to add a ‘sticking your tongue out’ face after all of that? He’s fucking pissed.
Storming out his brothers room, he dials for Inupi’s number. He walks back to the front door, grabs his Black Dragon coat again and stomps to the elevator. When his best friend answers, Kokonoi tells him to meet him at Toman’s shrine in ten minutes. It’s met with complaining, but when he tells Inupi just what’s happening, he’s soon out the door as well.
The black haired male then rings Taiju, who is less than happy to be called in the middle of making a ‘business’ deal. Though, when he hears about what’s happening, he’s also on his way there, shouting explicits that the shorter wholeheartedly agrees with.
Kokonoi can’t wait to get his hands on Mikey. He’s going to wring his neck, even if it’s the last thing he does.
“You can’t just toss me around like a fucking plastic bag! I’m Kokonoi Takemichi! Ko-ko-noi!” Takemichi screams, entitlement oozing from every pore on his body as he twists and turns in a long, black haired boy’s embrace — Baji. “At least hold me like a Channel bag!”
“Okay,” Baji says sarcastically, dragging out the ‘y’. He smirks, rolling his eyes, hands clasped around Takemichi’s waist in an effort to keeping him as still as he can. “Just calm down, pretty boy. You’re just leverage for a bigger scheme, don’t worry your dumb little head about it.”
“Who taught Baji what ‘scheme’ meant?” Kazutora asks, just as Draken says “you’re one to talk about being dumb.”
“Go fuck yourself!” He hisses out to no one in particular, gripping harder in Takemichi’s hips involuntarily.
Takemichi hates this, being pressed so close to Baji. He can feel his body heat all over his back and down to his legs. Baji has such a hold on him he can’t even begin to break out of it even if he tries. Actually, that’s a lie, he probably could, but it’s besides the point.
He still feels strange about this. They’ve been looking at him with.. certain eyes this entire time. He feels like a pig ready for slaughter. There’s only 20 minutes for Kokonoi, his big brother, to get here before they enact whatever sinful thing they want to do with him. Takemichi hopes he gets here soon.
Throughout his hour and a half with Toman, he’d been passed around, from Draken, who had him pinned with just an arm on his hip, pressing him up against his side, to Sanzu, who had resulted in trapping his wrists against the metal fencing of the shrine.
It was strange to say the least, and yet a small part of him decidedly liked being passed around like this. Though that’s not something he really wishes to get into today.
Angry is the next one to speak. A blue haired boy with a constant Angry expression on his face — you get where the name comes from. “Stop acting so high and mighty all the time, and maybe we’d trust you not to run off,” he speaks, eyes narrowing until only a slither of his pupil is seen from behind blue eyes lashes.
“I am ‘high and mighty’, thank you very m—” Takemichi cuts himself off, biting his lip as he lets something slip he was not supposed to say, at least not around Toman.
Baji’s grip on his hips get tighter as he’s pulled future into his embrace. Just behind his ass.. is—! He doesn’t want to think about it. He knows his face is red, but there’s nothing he can do about it now. Mikey obviously notices.
“Getting a bit hot there Takemichi?” Mikey muses sitting before him on the upper steps of the shrine. He pats his thigh, spreading his legs, “want to take a seat? I’ll make it a good time, I promise.” Takemichi ignores the heat pooling in his gut in favour for picturing all the things his brother and Black Dragons are going to do to Toman once he’s free.
He glares at Mikey and opens his mouth to speak, but just as he does, someone else interrupts him.
“Where is he?!” A voice shouts, loud and commanding, just before blonde hair, followed by a body, emerges. Seconds later, Kokonoi steps up, and then Taiju, his dark and light blue hair standing out like a sore thumb.
“Ooh! You’re all fucked! I haven’t seen Inupi this angry since the time Koko bought him a luxury car after he passed his driving test!” Takemichi giggles happily, leaning back against Baji’s chest as lets himself relax, ready for the show to start.
“How nice of you to join us,” Mikey muses, a sly smirk on his face as he gets up. He walks towards Kokonoi, sparing a second to cup at Takemichi’s face and blow him a kiss, before walking towards his elder brother.
“Well? We’re here,” Kokonoi says, bored though his eyes dart to Takemichi, wordlessly asking if he’s okay. The younger nods the affirmative.
“I never said anything about your little.. entourage coming along in that letter, did I?” Mikey asks, crossing his arms. He then huffs, “oh well, I guess you’d be stupid to show up alone. Never mind, we’ll soon be joined in an alliance anyway, so fighting is practically useless.”
“You’re fucking joking,” Taiju snarls, both against and slightly amused by it, and by it he means the absolute audacity that is Sano ‘Mikey’ Manjiro. He crosses his arms over his chest and shares a worried look with Takemichi.
“What was that?” Chifuyu asks, witnessing it, “what was that look?”
Takemichi laughs, fake and high pitched — Inupi face palms. “Nothing! We were just staring at each other like normal people do, totally normal!”
“Michi,” Kokonoi addresses him, a look of complete despair on his face, “are you dumb?!”
“Hey! I’m not dumb! Maybe you shouldn’t spoil me so much! I don’t know how to lie under pressure!” He retorts.
“Oh so it’s my fault?!”
“Maybe it is—”
“Absolutely not. Shut up, right now,” Inupi silences them with a wave of his hand. Both Kokonoi’s snap their jaws shut, and Draken finds himself coloured impressed. He has to ask Inui how he does that.
Taiju, pulls the sleeves of his dress shirt back down. It seems like he was ready for a fight, but it’s clear there isn’t really going to be one if Toman want to call alliance and a truce.
“You really went around the wrong way of doing things,” Taiju’s rough voice echoes around the shrine, crossing his arms over his chest, looking bored.
Mikey tilts in question. “But we got Black Dragons Commander here. We did it, right?”
“You did get our Commander here, but Taiju is not Black Dragons commander,” Kokonoi says, eyes narrowing like a snake as he smiles in a sinister way that makes some shiver, “Black Dragons Commander is no other than Kokonoi Takemichi.” Takemichi’s brother points to him, smirking, “he’s our Commander.”
Silence deafens the shrine. Then, all eyes turn to Takemichi, and subsequently Baji, who still has his hands places snugly around Black Dragons’ Commander’s hips.
“You gonna let go of me now?” Takemichi asks, looking up, the back of his head against Baji’s chest, with a sweet smile, yet in a way it’s also chilling. Baji instantly detaches himself from the smallers form.
”Hakkai?” Draken calls to a blue haired boy — Takemichi knows him, he’s Taiju’s younger brother — with a confused look on his face. It seems like that’s how they got their information on where he was supposed be.
Hakkai stares back with a shocked expression, he had no idea Taiju wasn’t the Commander after all. Of course he didn’t though, Takemichi isn’t stupid enough to let Taiju run his mouth like that.
Takemichi then looks at all the other Toman members, grinning. “You said something about a peace treaty? Hm? Mikey?” He questions slyly, a smirk on his lips, staring at Toman’s Commander, and at the completely gobsmacked look on his face.
The blonde’s mouth drops open in surprise. “You..?”
“Taiju is just the Acting Commander, he’s got the brawn, I have the brains. It’s simple really.” Takemichi shrugs, running a hand through his black hair.
Mitsuya speaks next, supporting a similar face to Mikey, “so the whole ‘high and mighty’..?”
“Yep,” he says, popping the ‘p’. Takemichi then turns to his older brother, “I nearly let it slip earlier, sorry Koko.” In response, Kokonoi groans and rubs his forehead with his thumb and pointer finger, deciding to ignore that all together.
“Well, Mikey? What about that alliance, hm?” Takemichi begins, leaning all of his weight on one foot, his hip jutting out, “I have to be honest, I’ve always wanted to be a Toman member.”
He ignores the shouts of betrayal he gets from his fellow Black Dragon members as Mikey quirks an eyebrow at him.
Oh, this might end up being more exciting than he initially thought.
