Work Text:
“Twenty-five, twenty-six, twenty-seven—”
“What are you doing?” Felix asks groggily, not even opening his eyes.
He was laying on his back with his head facing you. You were positioned on your side, head propped up by your left arm.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you. Can’t sleep,” You whisper. You thought you were quiet enough to not disturb his sleep.
“So you’re counting sheep?” He mumbles
“No, I’m counting your freckles.” You sigh, laying yourself flat on your back. Felix hums in response and turns his head to the ceiling. You’re almost certain he fell back asleep as you watch his chest gently rise and fall.
“How many freckles do I have?” He says, breaking silence.
“Last time I counted it was close to eighty.” He hums again are you’re sure fell asleep this time.
“Get over here,” Felix turns on his side and pulls you into his body, pressing your back against his chest.
“Lix, what—”
“Once upon a time—”
“What are you doing?”
“Telling you a bedtime story.”
“Wait, Felix, the light.” You stretched out your arm, trying to get to the lamp and turn it off. Felix only pulls you in tighter.
“Who cares? Anyway, once upon a time there lived...”
