More or Less (placeholder title)

Summary:

Chris had been friends with his best bud Levon for 3 years now and their bond has gotten stronger than ever. It's also around this time when he notices more details about Levon that he normally wouldn't find interesting at all. Idk actually screw summaries. I haven't figured it out at all and I'm not good at writing.

Notes:

This story is a fanfic about/inspired by 2 guys in class that me and my friends find a bit fruity due to their interactions and friend group (they fr look like a family)

Also some parts of this story is based on real events that happened at school except them being a thing (one of the guys, Chris specifically, has a girlfriend if I remember correctly)

Those two are not and never will be more than friends sadly. Anyways enjoy reading cuz this is my first time writing here :D

Chapter 1: Fun Times

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

How long has it been? 2 years? No, 3 years perhaps since we've become friends. I wonder how we even got close. Hmm... Now that I think about it, I don't remember it that well. I guess it just kinda happened."

"-ris? Chris, it's your turn." He suddenly snapped out of his thoughts as soon as his opponent said something.

"Oh sorry, uh let me just put it there and done." He placed his pawn forward.

"You good? Your mind seems to be somewhere else." His friend Levon asked as he placed his next move indicating his win.

"Oh yeah im goo- NO I LOST!" He yelled as he put his hands at the side of his head dramatically. "I should've focused in game." He sighed in defeat as they both started cleaning up the table. "Good game bro."

"Likewise. Next time don't let your mind wander elsewhere while in game, you were really close though." Levon chuckled while he put the pieces away.

"The teach is here! Hurry, hurry!" Someone exclaimed as they ran towards their sit, panicking.

"Rematch later." Chris said as he placed his hand on Levon's shoulder and went to his seat.

I really need to pay attention in class but my eyes are getting a lil heavy... At this rate I might fall asleep in clas- huh?

He noticed a piece of folded paper on his desk.

'you good?'

He looked at Levon's seat just infront of him wondering why he wrote such a note to him.

'yeah don't worry about it, just a bit sleepy.'

Chris wrote on the paper as he passed it to the person in front.

'2 more classes left then we can have the rematch you wanted'

"Whatchu got there?" His seatmate whispered as she peeked through the piece of paper, trying to read what was written on it.

"None of your business." He shushed them as the teacher walked nearby the students.

"Guys, shush..." Levon signaled them as he pointed towards the teacher nearby.

"Oh, sorry." Chris' seatmate whispered and continued writing notes regarding the lesson.

Dang, we almost got caught. Anyways I should participate every now and then during recitations. I need those points for my grade.

"Okay class, that's all for today and you may now take your recess. Oh, and don't forget about the test next week." The teacher then bid goodbye to the students who looked like they've just been hit by a storm. Some of them managed to regain their energy once the teacher had left and hurriedly went to the canteen while the others are just there, looking at the distance, processing the previous discussions. It was probably not only the lesson's fault but also the weather. It was hot and humid in the classroom since it was almost summertime.

"I can't believe that were having a test next week."

"Me neither. Can't they just take it easy on us? Or perhaps change the date of the test?"

"Wouldn't it be funny if they moved it to tomorrow or any day this week?"

"Stop it, you're making me worry more."

"If you worry about it too much, then go study." The students bickered as they ate their snacks and wrote down notes from the board.

"By the way, wouldn't there be an event 2 days from now? I heard that it's a food bazaar of some sort." One of them spoke up.

"Oh, oh! Isn't it something the Math Club is incharge with? I wonder what kind of foods are gonna be there that has something to do with math." The other added to the statement. From the gloomy atmosphere of the class it suddenly changed to a pretty cheerful one from the mention of the incoming event. They aren't really sure about the full details themselves but they're excited anyways. Maybe it's because they don't want to think about the incoming test.

"Hey, aren't we part of the event they're talking about?" Levon asked Chris as they entered the classroom. They had just left the canteen after buying food for themselves.

"Yeah, and we have a meeting later after class regarding who's assigned at what booth." Chris answered as he took a bite from his sandwich.

"Okay, noted. Also, when's the rematch that you wanted to do?" Levon reminded as they stood near the teacher's table to set up the board. "I mean there's still a few minutes until next class." He added.

"Right. Well then, shall we start?"

After a few rounds of chess, the next subject teacher then arrived and told the students to tidy up. Some changed seats due to the teacher's order to lessen the noise in class but it didn't seem to work anyways. Everyone in class could almost interact with each other except the shy and quiet ones so seats didn't really matter. Oh, and Chris did manage to win twice out of 5 matches.

Finally, class has ended and it was time to head home. Chris had to stay for a few extra minutes because of cleaning duties and his friends were nice enough to wait for him. Although they were on the way of his cleaning since they were waiting inside instead of outside. Some of the students he was cleaning with were annoyed by it and keeps yelling at them to wait at the corridor since they were just playing chess but they were stubborn enough to the point that the cleaners gave up and just let them do their stuff inside the classroom.

"Chris, don't forget about the meeting we'll have later when everyone gets home. Please remind the others if you happen to see them around, thanks!" Rose, the president of the math club reminded him before he left. The others already did and the only ones left is him, Rose, and his other friends including Levon.

"I will, thanks for the reminder. See you tomorrow." He said as he exits the room with his group.

"Let's stop by the ice cream shop first. I'm craving some right now." Said Vince as he led the way towards the store.

"Sorry guys, I won't be able to go. My Dad came to pick me up. Enjoy your ice creams then." Ray hurriedly ran towards a car that was parked near the school's exit gate and waved at the group goodbye.

"Oh well, see you tomorrow!" Levon shouted. "By the way Chris, since I won more matches than you, can you buy me ice cream just for today?" Chris groaned in protest but he had no choice since he had a point.

"Only for today, okay?" Levon chuckled in response.

They arrived at the store and saw a few of their classmates hanging out there. Some were even playing badminton on the road while the others are talking about gossips at school.

"... here's your ice cream." Chris handed Levon a chocolate popsicle while looking annoyed.

"Well, thank you Chris." He responded in a cheeky tone.

"To be honest, we didn't even made a deal about the loser having to buy ice cream for the winner."

"I guess it's just automatic then."

"Oh, shut up. Tomorrow I'm gonna win more rounds than you and make you buy two ice creams."

"Oh yeah? Bet."

The two of them laughed as they both enjoyed their ice creams. Once they finished, they told the others that they were going to leave.

"Won't you guys play badminton even just a little bit?" One of them said as they were about to hand the racket to one of them.

"Nah, we have something urgent to attend to later so we better get home early to relax a bit." Chris responded which made the person a bit sad that they had to go. He started walking right after refusing the student's offer which surprised Levon.

"Ah, have fun you guys. Goodbye! Chris, wait up!" Levon waved at everyone goodbye as he hurriedly ran towards Chris.

"Those two are almost inseparable, aren't they?" One of them commented.

"Yep, they sure are."
