Chapter Text
“I hope you rot in hell.”
“Come on, Y/N, don’t be like that.”
“Tell me exactly how you want me to be since you cheated on me?” A silence slowly took place between you and your now ex-fiancé.
You crossed your arms on your chest, wondering what he would say. I mean, you still have faith in him because you loved him for so long but this, this was the worst betraying that you experienced.
“Let me explain first.”
“Go on” You shrugged “Tell me that it was just an affair, that it wasn’t important…” You could feel the tears slowly coming. The silence that answered you was enough. “Why didn’t you tell me? We could have talk about it.”
“Don’t you think I tried? But you were always working or busy doing a project. I met Sophie and we felt in love! She gave me what you couldn’t. End of the story.”
“End of the story” you repeated incredulously while you felt like your life was falling apart. “What about the twins? Did you ever think about them?”
“I…Of course I thought about them, Y/N!” He said angrily. “Don’t think that you’re the only one who loves them because I love them just as much as you do! It’s just you! You are the problem!” Damn, he could have slapped you that it wouldn’t hurt that much. “Look, we’ve been together for ten years now but you never had sex with me and I wanted, craved it. Contrary to you, I’m normal. I have needs, sexual needs.”
Forget the slap, it was like a fucking punch in the stomach. You started to laugh, a hysteric one as tears couldn’t stop coming on your cheeks. “Hyunjin, our oldest boy, is the one telling me that a woman was kissing his papa while I was working in the local. You know what? I’ll let you stay in this apartment. I don’t want to live here knowing that you bring your mistress in our home while our boys were here. Tomorrow, I will take my belongings and leave, hoping that we will never see each other ever again beside for the sake of our children.”
Your ex-fiancé opened and closed his mouth like a fish out of the sea but you didn’t care as you passed him to put you ring on the dinner table. You grabbed your bag and left this life behind you. It was over. As you walked out, you felt a death grip on your wrist and you hissed in pain, turning to the man that broke your heart. He seemed pitiful, tears on his face and ugly crying.
“P-please, Y/N! D-Don’t—”
He had no right to cry. He decided to cheat, he decided to crush your heart in thousand pieces and he decided to ends ten years of relationship like that. You freed your wrist glaring at him and his pitiful face before turning your back on him once again. When you exited your building, you called a taxi, asking him to bring you to your best friend place.
Once the driver nodded and started to drive, you cried your eyes out and almost fell asleep if it wasn’t for the abrupt stop in front of the giant building. Your best friend was already waiting outside and opened her arms when she spotted you. Jennie caught you without problems and hugged you tightly.
The next day, you awoke with an awful headache and your best friend gave you a small smile before giving you an aspirin and a bottle of water. You thanked her before apologizing for your tears and she flicked your head. “Don’t be silly, Y/N. If you weren’t crying, I would be worried. You guys dated since high school and were like the couple goal. I can’t understand how he could do that to you. Jimin will kill him."
“I have my responsibility on that matter, Jennie. I worked way too much and didn’t want to sleep with him.”
“He should have talked instead of, you know, cheating. You were clear about your asexuality since the beginning, Y/N. Forcing yourself would have caused more damage.”
You knew that but it still hurt and you still feel guilty that he couldn’t have talk properly to you. God, how will you bring the news to your children? Felix and Hyunjin were the sweetest kids you ever meet but you were still worried that they would hate you since you ended things with their dad.
You sighed, hiding your face between your hands. Jennie rubbed your back in a comforting manner. “When do you have to pick the kids out of the farm?”
“Tomorrow afternoon. My mother wanted them for the week-end.” You smiled, remembering how you two sons were happy to spend some times in your childhood farm with your parents.
Jennie nodded then she smiled, a Cheshire cat smile and you knew you were screwed. “Alright woman! Today, let’s call Jimin! We will find you a new house and let’s have a day off with spa and massage. Also, you need new clothes.”
“I don’t?”
“Yeah, ask Jimin for that. You look like a mom.” At that, you laughed because your other best friend, Jimin always told you to stop wearing your awful practical clothes and wants you to put things a little bolder. “You aren’t a nun, Y/N!”He would say.
“I am a mom, Jennie.” Jennie chuckled as she sent a text to the man but you guessed that a self-care day would be awesome.
***
It was a month ago that this day happened. You broke up with your fiancé but you were glad to have Jennie and Jimin. As your oldest and best friends, they helped a lot to bring you back on track but you did cry a lot on their shoulder and they dried your tears.
First, Jimin talked to his boyfriend Hoseok and, the very next day, Hoseok called you. You only saw the man a few times because he traveled a lot, thanks to his job as rapper and choreographer but Hoseok’s voice sounded really friendly and warm as he explained that he knew someone who could sell their house to you. You thanked him like a hundred time but the man only laughed, called you silly and invited you to their house for a diner; "of course you can bring your babies, Y/N, I miss them." Your twins were glad to be spend some time in their uncles' home.
Jimin meet them when you were in college and he immediately fell for the quiet but kind man that sat beside him like there was no tomorrow. He blushed so hard but his Cheshire cat appeared and they started to talk. You knew that Yoongi Min was mesmerized by your best friend. You could easily remember the way Yoongi boldly invited Jimin to diner, asking what he thought about open relationship and Jimin stopped working for a second. Jennie slapped him slightly in the back while you were hiding your smile behind your hand. It was the beginning of a beautiful story where you could saw your best friend finding himself as their relationship evolved. Now, Hoseok and Yoongi were happily married living with their boyfriend.
Secondly, Jennie helped you to move out your stuff with her boyfriend Taehyung. These two acted like fucking bodyguards as you picked your clothes, watching your ex with a rapt attention but their attitude made you smile for the day. They also dragged you out for an ice-cream and a movie marathon at their apartment and you even made a show for your new clothes. “If I wasn’t madly in love with Jennie, believe me, Y/N” Taehyung winked. ‘Gross. She has standards, Tae.” “This piece of shit was just a fail in the Matrix then.” “Exactly!” God, you loved them to the core.
Contrary to Sopemin, like they called themselves, Jennie and Taehyung met by their job and it was love at first sight. It didn’t take long before they became an item and a really complementary one. You always were rotting for them as much as you rotted for Jimin love life. All you ever wanted for them; a healthy relationship based on trust and love.
The next day, Hoseok invited you to visit the house and you instantly fell in love with its charms. It was an average house with one floor that has four rooms one for you, one for the twins and two guest rooms and the bathroom. The ground floor had an open kitchen, a living room and a small office for your projects. You also had a tiny garden with flowers and a vegetable garden. Felix and Hyunjin, freshly picked up from the farm, loved it just as much as you did if the squeaks and them running around were any indicators. Hoseok told you that it was only twenty minutes away from your kids school by walk and you also had the bus stop close for them. Felix took your hand, asking you if they could take the biggest bedroom because their plushie BbokAri and Jiniret would love it. Sharing their excitement, you decided that it was it; this house will be your new home no matter what. “I’m glad that you’re the owner of this house, Y/N.” Jimin’s boyfriend said with a huge smile. “You’re a good person.” You blushed, smiling softly and Hoseok gave you the key with a soft smile.
Today was a quiet day. The twins just came back from school and you kissed their forehead with a hug. You noticed that Felix’s skirt was a little dirty but you didn’t press it; they were kids, they played in the dirt all the time.
Tonight, you decided to bake Felix favorite dessert and cook Hyunjin favorite dish. It was a new life ahead of you and they deserved a little treat since they were the sweetest kids. Contrary to what you expected, None of them threw a tantrum when you announced that you weren’t in love with their dad and you ended the relationship. Behind them, you could see your parents sighing in relief as if they knew since the beginning that your relationship would sooner or later end. You hugged your sons, assuring that even if you didn’t love their dad anymore, he very much loved them and will be seeing them soon. Felix cried a little but he understood while Hyunjin seemed a little guilty as if it was his fault that his dad cheated and you hold him through the night, promising that it wasn’t it fault and he did a good thing by telling you. After a few days, they adapted quite quickly to their new life but just in case, you brought them to a child psychiatrist.
As you were backing, you noticed that Felix was rather quiet. It was weird; he knew that you would make brownie since you told them this morning. Usually whenever you were cooking, he was by your side, talking about his day or helping you cooking. Today, he was just sitting in your couch, watching Hyunjin drawing. They were strangely calm and you could understand; they had a long day too and it could have drained their energy but you often were prouven wrong as they were playing princess and knight or watching a TV show.
“Lixie?” He looked up to you, his head tilting slowly. “Do you want to make brownie with me?” He shook his head then focused on his brother. You frowned and let go of the chocolate before walking to the couch and gently caressing his hair. “Alright, baby. You’ll tell me when you’re ready.”
“Ma?” Hyunjin put his pencil away, raising his head to you and Felix flinched slightly.
“Yes Jinnie?”
“Is this bad that we like to wear skirts or nail polish?”
“Why would it be?” You turned the couch and kissed his forehead. “Wear whatever you want to wear, baby. I don’t mind and if people do, I’ll tell them to mind their business. Do you think it’s bad that your uncle Jimin were skirts?”
Hyunjin shook his head with strength and you wondered what could have happened to put your oldest in this mindset. Then, out of nowhere, Felix cried. Not an “I cry because I’m exhausted” more like an “I need you to take me in your arms and never let me go.” Out of habit, you took Felix in your lap, gently rocking him and caressing his hair while Hyunjin held his back.
Once he calmed down and got fresh water from his brother, Felix explained that a boy was mean to him today and called him a girl, mocking his clothes and his purple nails. He told their teacher and the boy decided that snitches ended up in dishes as he pushed him on the ground. Then, Hyunjin cried too, telling you that he punched the kid in the jaw because Felix was crying and got scolded and punished.
“Oh baby.” You kissed his hair. “I am sorry that you had to live that today. Sometimes, people got their mind close like really close and don’t understand that you could love “girls” things.”
“Like dad sometimes?” Felix asked and you nodded, chasing his tears. “Ma, I really love wearing skirts…”
“I know that, Lix and you’re so pretty when you wear them. Why do you think uncle Taehyung keeps buying them for you, uh?” You pinched his cheek and for the first time this night you heard him giggle. “Thank you for telling me, boys. I’m proud of you and I love you.”
You held them a little tighter then ruffed Hyunjin hair, telling him that you weren’t mad that he protected his brother but that he should tell an adult instead of using violence because it would do more bad than good.
You decided to do a pillow fort; Hyunjin cheered while Felix nodded quickly. You instructed you boys to bring their blanket and pillow as you went to the kitchen to finish the brownie. A few minutes later, you were all sitting in your pillow fort, a bowl full of food and casually watching The Lion King.
You absolutely loved this kind of evening and your boys seemed finally at peace, especially Felix who brought his chicken plushie, BbokAri. You kissed his head, gently cuddling him but kept in mind to speak with his kindergarten teacher tomorrow; you absolutely hated when child were mean to each others.
Slowly, you noticed that Hyunjin fought to keep his eyes open. His Jiniret plushie held against his tiny torso and his head against your shoulder. Maybe it was time for them to go to bed. They seemed so tired and you had to carry them to their bed. Once they were ready to sleep, you sat on Hyunjin’s bed.
“Ma?” Felix murmured. “Can you sing to us?”
“Please…” Hyunjin used his best puppy eyes and your heart melt.
“Which song?” you muttered back.
“The French one?” Hyunjin yawned. “The one you sang when we joined you and dad?”
“Oh. Yeah sure” You didn’t sing this song for a few months; you got the twins when they were around three, hard to know since the social workers found them in a trash, warned by an old lady who heard cries. So, the only way you find to calm them down before sleep, the first night they entered your life was to sing a French song that you loved when you had their age and it helped you to relax.
You started to sing until they both fell asleep which didn’t take very long; this day had been harsh on them. You send a text to your ex, let him know that Hyunjin punched another kid to defend Felix’s honor and that you wanted to see the kindergarten’s teacher because there is no way that you’d let that slide; bullying was your nightmare. He didn’t answer and you didn’t focus on that; it was usual to be left on read since he got a new girlfriend. Also, since you separated, the judge decided that Kyhung would have them a week-end out of two.
Once you cleaned the living room, you went to your bedroom and fell on your mattress: you will do the dishes tomorrow because you were too lazy to do them at the moment. You made a mental note to also watch them clean their bedroom walls.
You knew that they were only kids, and doing some mischief so just watch them paint their walls when their babysitter has her back on them for five minutes. It wasn’t Nora’s fault after all. She tried to do her best with the twins while you were at work and even if you knew that they didn’t mean any arms by these drawings, the poor girl felt so guilty that she apologized for thirty minutes and tried to clean the wall. It took you ten minutes to explain that you weren’t mad at Nora for this or at the twins because they went full Picasso mode. You told them that they’ll have to clean these drawing tomorrow and apologize to Nora. They obeyed and apologized to their babysitter quickly. She blushed, shook her head and it made you chuckle.
The next day, you woke up, slightly startled; you smelt pancake and the smell was coming from the kitchen. As you sat on your bed, you saw the hours on your clock; six in the morning. You remembered that Jimin wanted to pay you a visit. He went shopping yesterday and he wanted to show his purchasing to his godson, Hyunjin. You rubbed your eyes then got up.
It was quiet, either it was really early or Hoseok didn’t come with Jimin. When you entered your kitchen you freeze. It wasn’t Jimin in your kitchen. A man was making pancakes. He was taller than Jimin and broader. He has bleached blonde hair, almost white and wearing an expensive suit. For once, you liked the fact that you didn’t do your dishes as you spotted your pan close to you. You quietly took it and came closer to the intruder. You tiptoed your way to the man and, when you rose your hand to finally it him straight in the head, you heard a chuckle.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.”
His voice was steady and deep and it was clearly a warning but you chose to ignore it, especially knowing that your kids were upstairs and you hit him with the pan. You grimaced at the loud noise and the man didn’t flinch. Instead, the pan broke and he had the audacity to sigh, turning off the fire under your other pan. He turned and you gulped; he was stunning.
Focusing on the matter at hands aka your kids, your body chose his flight response and you tried to run upstairs but the man grabbed you by your waist, a smirk on his face. You tried to fight instead but he wouldn’t budge, he just looked between annoyed by your attitude and amused that you tried to escape him.
You were trapped and, once you realized that, you stopped to fight, an unpleasant chill ran to your spine. His torso was warm against your back and you tensed, trying to put some distance between you. The man seemed rather dangerous and you turned in his arms. He smirked, looking down at you and you noticed that he had brown eyes and a few scars on his face.
“Hello there.”
Confused and clearly scared, it seemed that you brain still choose to geek out. “General Kenobi.”
This answered seemed to surprise him and then, you saw something you didn’t see beside his blatant beauty, something on his hair; horns. Fucking black horns.
“What the—”
“Ma!”
The man smiled and let you go after murmuring a small “I’ll explain everything. Don’t try to run, I will find you.” in your ear. This, this sounded like a threat.
Felix entered the kitchen, a wide smile on his cute face and you immediately smiled back until his eyes focused on the stranger, BbokAri on his chest and you kneeled in front of him, protecting him from the creature. Your child announced that he was hungry and wanted pancakes for breakfast, you chuckled, ruffled his hair then turned to the man.
“Who are you?” You asked.
“Let’s wait for the other one that summoned me.” He smiled kindly. “I will explain everything.”
“Hello sir!” Felix smiled behind you. “My name is Felix!”
“Hello little one. My name is Chan.” The creature smiled, putting a plate of pancake in front of your kid. “Here you go.”
“Thank you!” He smiled and sat, happy fists in action and you frowned. “Oh, you have nail polish?”
Chan looked down on his nails and laughed; he had black and red nails… wait, were these claws? “Yes, my brother did it for me.”
Felix showed his hands and giggled. “Mom did mine! She put a lot and it got messy but dad got angry when he saw it.”
This, this made you frown; you didn’t know that your ex didn’t approve of nails polish, you did it since they asked when you tried it and loved it and never said anything. The creature winked at you, clearly amused by the situation and you wondered when it went wrong. Felix ate after you stole a tiny piece for the plate, just in case it was poisoned. It was honestly the best pancake you ever tasted but refused to let it shows.
Unfortunately, you were often told that you couldn’t lie to save your life and the creature laughed, giving you a plate as well. Chan sat with you and Felix decided to take a liking to the creature as he sat closer, almost sitting on his lap and the creature didn’t seem to mind, he even took him on his knees.
“Felix” you gently called “Can you, please, wake your brother? School starts soon.”
“On it!” Felix jumped on his feet then ran upstairs, leaving you with the creature that smiled and starts to eat breakfast as well. Today couldn’t get weirder anyways, you sighed and started to eat as well until it was time to get your sons to school.
***
It was one month ago. Chan entered your life one month ago and somehow, it felt like he was always part of your family. He got there by the drawings your sons did on their wall and you wondered how it could even happen but now, it was too late and the demon was meant to stay since he had a pact with them. The twins loved him to the core as he acted more like a dad/big brother than you ex ever did.
You could easily remember when he stepped in as you were meeting with their kindergarten teacher about their bully, the very next day he came from Hell. She called for you when you dropped them in their class; she wanted to meet you since Hyunjin punched Felix’s bully right in the jaw and you nodded, accepting a meeting for the next day after school.
You weren’t going to lie, the fact that Hyunjin stood up against a bully made you proud. He was brave and fierce. Now, it was your job to protect them and boy, fought you did; asking why your boy came home crying because a kid made fun of him since he was wearing a skirt and nails polish then asking why Hyunjin was grounded and scolded while the kid who pushed Felix was still playing and provoking Hyunjin after his punition. The woman tried to argue with you, telling you that it wasn’t why you were convicted and you smiled, answering that you came in this purpose.
You wanted your sons’ happiness and safety more than anything else so, yeah; you told her that you already took care of Hyunjin reaction when he told you what happened. You asked your oldest to apologize for the punch only and only if the boy apologized to Felix for mocking him.
Then, out of nowhere, she asked you if you had a new boyfriend because Felix said weird things this morning. You raised an eyebrow as he told his bully that his new friendly demon will come and make him apologize if he didn’t stop mocking him. You tightened your jaw and crossed your arms on your chest; it meant that even if Hyunjin punched the boy, he didn’t stop harassing Felix. The teacher even showed you some drawing your sons did today; they painted you, Chan and themselves with your house. It made your heart flutter; damn, they really appreciated him.
As if he was summoned, the creature showed up in his three pieces suit, even prettier than you the first time you saw him. Chan smiled at the teacher, announcing that if she didn’t find a solution to Felix’s bullying, he will show up at school and take care of the matter himself. “Do I make myself clear? Do your job” he growled “Or I will do something and you don’t want to see that.” You could clearly feel his dangerous aura and the fear he imposed on the kindergarten teacher.
Touching his shoulder to stop his threats, you cleared your throat and made him sit beside you but Chan took a step back and positioned behind your chair, his hands on your back chair. That’s how he spotted the drawing your kids did this morning and you saw his pleased smile then you focused back on the teacher that was calling the kid’s parents.
Once you exited the office, you hugged Chan with a small smile, thanking him for his help and asked if he wanted ice cream or wait until you picked up your children from Jennie’s house. He smiled back and wanted to wait for your kids. The very next day, the kid apologized to Felix and Hyunjin apologized for punching him and you didn’t hear about bullying since then.
Thinking about it made you smiled even bigger but your daydream abruptly stopped when you spotted your ex sitting in front of you. He seemed mad. “Good morning” you said. “I commanded already. Black coffee, right?”
“What did you do?!”
“I’m good, thank you for asking.”
His face turned redder and you wondered if he got an aneurysm. “I don’t have time for your jokes, Y/N!”
“How’s the new girlfriend?”
“Can you please stop!?”
“Can you stop yelling at me? People start to look at us and it makes me uncomfortable.”
Before he could say something, the waitress came with your green tea and put the black coffee in front of your ex. “So? What did I do for you to yell at me?” You start to sip your tea.
“First, your new boyfriend threatens our sons’ teacher then the twins are telling me nonsense about him being a demon! What the fuck?! I already thought that Jimin was a bad influence on them but this is way too much!”
You can handle him critizing you, calling a bad mom because it wouldn’t be the first time but, Jimin? Jimin was your best friend since you were toddlers.
“Let Jimin out of it, Kyhung. About the kindergarten, I send you a text the day I got Felix crying into my arms because he was bully by an ignorant kid. Hyunjin acted on instinct to protect his little brother. He knows that what he did was bad and he apologized when the kid apologized to Felix. I sent the information about the meeting, I waited for you to come but you never came and I was ten minutes late because I hoped that you would show up. Instead Chan did, he showed up to ask for justice. Felix did nothing wrong besides having a freaking skirt and nail polish. As for him being a demon, it’s a game he plays with the kids.”
It wasn’t; Chan was a literal demon but you made your sons promise to never tell about it, especially after Felix told his whole class that Chan was a demon, or if they accidentally spill the tea, they would have to say that it was a game between them and him. “You’re just mad because the twins actually really love their Channie.”
“So you’re not denying that you have a new boyfriend?”
The audacity. The fucking audacity of this man. “It isn’t a matter that concerns you. Me having someone shouldn’t be a problem since, you know, you had a girlfriend before we broke up and, like I said, Hyunjin and Felix are my priority above everything else, including my love life.”
“Did he manage to fuck you?”
It was enough. He wanted to play a dirty game? You could play too. “What if he did?” You could feel a triumphant smile as Kyhung chocked on his coffee. “You didn’t tell me, by the way, how is the new girlfriend? Felix told me that he heard weird noise coming from your bedroom and I told him to ask you next time. Good luck!”
You quickly left the coffee shop. As you passed by the huge glass, you could see him fuming and it made you laugh like a kid.
As you got home, you only found Chan in the living room, slowly working on your computer and your headphones on his head. After the demon had to stay at home because of the deal with your sons, be gone were the suit and he was hanging out most of the time in sweat dark clothes, playing on your computer or listening to music. He also forgot the gel and let his natural fluffy air curling around his horns or under a beanie.
You went to change and opened the fridge to eat something until Chan appeared beside you, making you jump. “Good god, Chan!”
“Are you okay?”
“Peachy” you answered, a tight smile on your lips and opened a can after giving on to Chan. “I’m still wondering how I could ever fall in love with Kyhung.”
“I guess the meeting was awful?”
“He wanted to know if you fucked me.” You heard the demon chock on his soda and, when you saw him, his ears were red while he looked everywhere around you. “He also said that Jimin was a bad influence on the kids. Rude. Chim is a little fairy.”
“Who can stav you. You want me to pay him a visit?”
“Nah.” You giggled. “Seeing him being all furious because he assumed you did fuck me was a satisfaction.” His whole face turned red and you sipped your soda. “He would have to explain to Felix why he heard weird noises too.” Chan frowned and you tilted your head, suddenly lost in thoughts. “Was I too violent?”
Chan laughed beside you, shaking his head and god, you could listen to his laugh every hour. Focus Y/N. This is not the time for it. “Bullshit, I saw you talking to your plants. He had it coming.”
“It’s Namjoon’s fault if I talk to my plants.” You pouted and Chan’s smile got a little colder.
“Namjoon?”
“Yeah, Sope’s best friend.”
“Sope?” You laughed at his confusion and explained that Jimin loved mixed name so Sope were the fusion between Suga, Yoongi’s nickname and J-Hope, Hoseok’s nickname. “I see! Wait, why these nicknames?”
“Oh, Yoongi, Namjoon and Hoseok used to do underground rap.”
“Rap?”
“Yeah, they were really good. I will give you some of their rap, it’s pretty cool.” The demon seemed happy with that and nodded fiercely.
“So, this Namjoon made you talk to plants?”
You nodded, a more realistic smile on your face as you remembered fondly how Namjoon helped you calm down eight years ago.
You had an argument with Kyhung, and ran to Jimin’s house but he was absent. Fortunately, Yoongi let you in as you explained what happened. This is how you meet this gentle giant who loved to talk to his plants. “They’re good listeners” he whispered, smiling softly. “Try it.” And you did. You talked and talked and, once you ran out of words, Namjoon quietly asked if you felt better. You did and he patted your head and maybe, maybe you had a tiny crush on the man. Until one hour later you meet his boyfriend, Jeon Jungkook and the crush was gone; they were so enarupted with each other it was almost disgusting. Jimin told you that Namjoon often had this effect on people but only Jungkook crush stayed and it evolved in a true love.
“Where are the twins?” Chan wondered suddenly “You didn’t pick them up from school? We have to go! It’s past four!” He starts to panic and you couldn’t help your giggles. “Why are you laughing?”
“Chan, they are at Sopemin’s house. Jimin wanted to spend time with Hyunjin and I guess Hobi will play dolls with Felix. They will send them to school tomorrow and I will pick them up at four.”
“So, it’s just us?”
“Well, Jennie wants to meet at her apartment, I guess I will go.”
“Oh…” He looked like a kicked puppy and you couldn’t help ruffling his hair carefully; his horns were still sharp as razors. He tensed for a second then melted as quickly.
Often, you wondered if the demon was touch starved or slowly getting used to the skin ship of your family. He purred and you giggled; from time to time, when he was really pleased, the demon could purr and it was your sons’ mission to make him at least purr one time a day.
“Want to come with me? Jennie wants to meet you anyway.”
“Really!?”
“Yes, I just have to send a text to tell them that you will join us. We will probably go out. Put comfortable clothes, please. No suit and no sweat.”
“Yes ma’am!”
Half an hour later, Jennie opened her door, smiling at you before her eyes landed on Chan who smiled politely. “Damn, girl! He’s hot!” You laughed and nodded slightly; it was a fact and you couldn’t disagree with it. Chan cleared his throat, a little embarrassed as he hid his face behind his hands.
“Oh shit! He’s cute too!?” You nodded and gently patted his shoulder. Jennie leaned against her door frame, still analyzing the demon and, when he passed her test, she smiled at you. “See, I told you” Jennie smirked “A croc-top on a man is really pretty.”
“I never denied the fact, Jennie. Can we enter now?” Jennie rolled her eyes and let you enter her house while Chan followed closely. “Sorry.” You whispered beside Chan. “She can be a lot when she wants to. Chan, this is Jennie, my best friend since high school. Jennie, this is Chan, my roommate and unofficial babysitter along with Jimin when I’m working and Nora is at school.”
“You’re a demon, right?” She laughed at your expression “You know that Hyunjin and Felix really love him and can’t shut up about their cool demon. Plus, I can clearly see the horns under the beanie.”
“I forgot to pull a charm on it” He sighed. “Well, I can’t deny it” Chan shrugged and you shook your head. “Nice to meet you, Jennie.”
“I have like, a hundred questions to ask but I’m glad to finally meet the man that captured the twins’ heart.” She smiled and winked at you while you were sitting in her couch. “Did you eat?”
“Not yet! We went for some shopping since Channie only had his suit and some sweatpants.”
“‘Channie’ uh” Jennie smirked and you rolled your eyes. “Who decided on these clothes?”
“My third brother” Chan smiled proudly. “We tried a lot of things and send a lot of pictures, he told me that the black croc-top and the kaki cargo pants would do.”
Jennie nodded and you found it adorable how Chan’s face immediately changed to fondness whenever he talked with or about his brothers.
As far as you know, he had five of them and he loved them to the core. He often talk about them when the kids ask for a bedtime story and you easily could name them and in order; Minho; the fierce one, Changbin; the strong demon, Han; the troublemaker, Seungmin; the stoic one and Jeongin; the youngest. Chan often said that his youngest brother was also sometimes the mature one and really held them together. You loved hearing him talking about his adventures when he was younger and full of dreams. A part of you already knew that something happened because you often noticed his sad expression on a few stories but you didn’t want to intrude so you listened and so did you kids.
“Let’s eat and then we will move to that club. Is this okay with you?”
“Sure” you giggled and Chan nodded. “Ready when you are!” Jennie looked at you weirdly then shook her head “What?”
“Chan is like the hottest guy we will have to see beside Tae. You need to step up your game, Y/N. Come on.”
Before you could do something, Jennie dragged you toward her bedroom. It took you twenty minutes to discuss what to wear and opted for a tight dark jean, a black top and your Doc Martens. Then, she did some make-up on you while you talked quietly, wondering what Chan could be doing until you heard the atomic sneeze of Taehyung in the living room.
You were glad that he wasn’t alone in an unfamiliar environment even if you doubted that it could bother the demon. It also meant that food arrived and you were starved. Once you exited the bedroom, you almost got blinded by Taehyung’s shirt. “Oh my god.”
“What? Isn’t it cool?” He asked, a smirk on his face.p
“You’re a menace, Tae.” You sighed, shaking your head and sat beside Chan who tried hard not to stare. “What did you bring?”
Taehyung chuckled saying that he went to your favorite restaurant and you smiled, pleased by this tiny attention and you all eat, chatting and playing some silly game, asking question to know each other better. Out of habit, you shared your plate with Channie who hesitated at first before telling you that he didn’t like spicy food. You smiled while the couple laughed because you couldn’t really handle spicy food or your body will make you pay. Promising that it wasn’t spicy, Chan accepted to try whatever you gave him. Jennie raised an eyebrow at you and you tilted your head, a frown on your face then her eyes landed on Chan and you blushed. She smiled, shaking her head and, when you finished eating, you all got ready to leave.
“Y/N, you drive us?” Jennie asked and you nodded. “I’ll go in the back with Tae. Chan, you have the free control of the music, go wild!”
The ride was fast but amusing; Chan really find the best music in your playlist while you decided to play a game like yelling something stupid whenever you spotted a light. The demon beside you seemed eager to play while he kept an eye on the music as you could show him some of the rap Namjoon, Yoongi and Hoseok did. Chan seemed to like it, doodling his head to the rhythm of Cypher 4.
Once you parked, you could already hear the different noise inside the club as Jennie took your arms and lied her free hand to Taehyung’s. You passed security without any problem and Chan went straight to the bar while you find somewhere to sit.
“He’s really cool, Y/N. No wonder why the kids love him so much.” Jennie yelled in your ear and you nodded, a small smile on your lips. “Want to dance?” She took your hand and leaded you to the dance floor while Chan found Taehyung already sitting on a couch.
Dancing with Jennie was always fun; she was a queen at dancing while you were a disaster with no coordination. As you were having fun, yelling lyrics and dancing in the dumbest way possible, you felt a hand grabbing your waist and a head on your shoulder sniffing you. You tensed and tried to escape the grip on you but you felt something wet and rough on your neck. Was it a fucking tong!?
“That’s the piece of meat who seduced our king. I’m quite disappointed by my fiancé.” You freeze and tried to escape but the woman, according to the voice, was way stronger than you.
As you turned to see and took a step back, you met two flashy green eyes, a pale skin and dark hair. She smiled, a carnivorous smile because you could only see the fangs; very, very, very sharp fangs. Fortunately, someone held you by your shoulder, making you step back and you collided with a strong chest. You raised your head to see a young man with dark and cold eyes focusing on Fangs, brown hair with two electric blue strands on his forehead. He was tall and svelte and then, you noticed two golden horns on his head.
“Stay away from her” He warned. “Chan won’t be happy to know that you attacked his beloved human.”
“Uh?” You blinked, still held by the young demon. Beloved ??
“Move.” The other demon that you didn’t noticed until he spoke, added taking a step in front of you and you blinked. He was smaller but buffer; silver hair cut in a mullet and black eyes that turned silver almost white. He had silver horns. “You don’t want to be here when he’ll realize that you assaulted her. He won’t play nice.”
The woman smirked, licking her fangs and you gulped. She seemed ready to bite whoever would come closer. “Oh, I’m not this piece of meat. I don’t want him nice. I want him rough and dangerous, like the king he should be.”
The youngest whispered close to your ear and all you could understand is “Psychopath” and you couldn’t agree more. As if she heard him, the woman lost her smile and her aura switched. It wasn’t playful anymore only dangerous and your whole body wanted to run but you were still held by the youngest.
“Do not forget who you are talking to, prince Seungmin. I am not some of your whore. I am a queen.”
“You aren’t a queen yet, Hikari. Do not disrespect my brother.” A deep voice interrupted and you sighed in relief as Chan joined your little party.
You blinked at him, surprised by his tone. It wasn’t the soft spoken one, it was authoritative and his attention was only on the woman, Hikari. She smiled at Chan, not scared of him, just amused to see him and her whole behavior changed again. Damn, she would give you whiplash. “Took her in safety and bring her friends with her. I need a chat with my fiancée.”
The two demons nodded and you broke free from the youngness’s hold to gently grab Chan’s hand. “Y/N?” He turned his head toward you and you squeezed his hand while the female demon looked at you like she wanted to rip your head off and you understood because she was his fiancée. “Do not worry, they are my brothers. They’ll bring you home.”
“Chan, I don't—”
“Don’t argue, Y/N!” He shouted and his eyes turned red, making you took a step back. He seemed sorry for a second then shook his head, focusing on Hikari. “Go.”
The buff demon took you gently by your wrist and you ignored your heart breaking as you followed them away from Chan and his fiancée. Oh god, his fiancée. What an idiot you were. In this story, this time you weren’t Y/N, you were Sophie. The deal breaker, the idiot who fell in love with an engaged man. Wait, wait! Fell in love? Oh god. You wanted to punch something, someone and preferably yourself for being a perfect idiot.
Sensing your distress, since you know, he was a demon, Seungmin cleared his throat.
“Are you okay?”
“Where are my friends?” You asked instead because it was easier to think about something else than the mess in your mind.
“I’ll go fetch them. Seungmin, bring her home.” Seungmin, the young one, nodded and leaded you in the streets. He was quiet and you were glad; if you had to talk, you would probably cry.
Chan was always composed and calm around you or the kids, you never heard him raise his voice on anyone and the fact that he yelled at you made you sad, without really knowing why. Oh no, you knew why now; because your stupid heart couldn’t handle someone being simply nice to it and decided to fall for the pretty demon.
Shaking your head, you almost walked right to the road if Seungmin didn’t catch you. You thanked him and he nodded but didn’t let go of your hand until you found yourself in front of your house. You smiled at the demon before offering him a drink, asking if the buffer demon would a drink too.
“Changbin?” He tilted his head “I guess, yeah. Thank you for offering.”
You nodded and entered your house where you find Jennie and Taehyung with Changbin not so far. “What took you so long?”
“She needed a break” Seungmin answered, shrugging. “I heard that a walk can help you clear your mind.” You squeezed his hand then let go and went to your kitchen, followed by your best friend and her boyfriend. They were quiet for a whole minute until Taehyung took you between his arms and Jennie quickly followed.
“Are you okay? Chan told me to find Jennie and wait for his friend. What happened?”
“These are his brothers” You corrected then you told them; while you were dancing, a woman held you and licked your neck, which gross. You explained that she apparently was a demon and Chan’s fiancée. She called you a piece of meat and Chan yelled at you. Jennie frowned then sighed, explaining that Changbin found them and dragged them here while explaining that Chan’s fiancée was here and ready to fight you. “She wants to fight me?”
“Yeah” Jennie nodded. “According to Changbin, you are a threat to their marriage and a fight to death is how they deal with that.”
“Uh?” Your heart, this traitor chose to miss a few beat and you blinked at the couple.
“He kind of likes you, Y/N.” Taehyung supplied kindly. “He is so smitten for you, it’s kind of funny.”
“Oh not “kind of”” Jennie added. “It’s funny but he yelled at you and didn’t tell you about his fiancée so now I’m pissed off at him.”
“Listen” you smiled tiredly “I should head to bed.”
“Are you gonna be okay?” You nodded and you knew that Jennie didn’t believe you but she didn’t insist and you kissed her cheek.
“Wanna share your bed?” You shrugged; you didn’t mind sharing your bed with the couple, especially since they helped you in your darkest time and you needed cuddle. Taehyung smiled widely, showing his best boxy smile while Jennie went to your bedroom to pick a pajama and you gave a drink to the two demons that seemed rather fine on your couch, watching TV. “Make yourself at home” you gently said. “Do you need a blanket and pillow? Jennie, Tae and I will be off to bed.”
“You’re one of a kind.” Changbin chuckled and you blushed. “I was wondering how the human that stole his sense was.”
“A blanket” Seungmin answered still focusing on the baseball game in front of him. “…please.”
“It reminds me, we didn’t introduce ourselves. My name is Changbin Seo and this is Seungmin Kim. We are Chan’s brothers.”
“Nice to meet you, my name is Y/N Y/L/N. Changbin, do you need something?”
“A pillow would be nice.”
“On it!” You took a blanket and a pillow for them in your supply closet then gave them before telling good night. You told them when your bathroom was if they needed to wash up and were your room was if they needed something else then went to your room where your best friend was. “Tae is still in the shower?”
“Yup. Look!” She gave you her phone and you smiled as you saw the twins sleeping peacefully in a huge bed, surrounded by Jimin, Hoseok and Yoongi. It was adorable and you waited for Taehyung to take a picture that Jennie send back. Not a minute later, Jimin FaceTimed you. He frowned when he saw your face and you sighed.
“Why are you at home? Shouldn’t you be out?”
“We got into trouble.” Tae smiled.
“Of course, I’m not here for a night and this happened.” Jimin sighed. “So, explain?”
Taehyung explained quickly and the worried expression on Jimin shifted for an angry one then, you quietly talk about the meeting with Kyhung. Jennie tensed, Taehyung frowned and Jimin seemed ready to murder someone, probably your ex or Chan, he didn’t decide yet. Your best friends kept talking for a while but you were tired, so it didn’t took you really long before you fell asleep on them, wrapped in their lovely arms.
Meanwhile, Changbin was slowly dozing off when the front opened and he was on his feet, ready to fight. Seungmin had both of his katana ready but sighed as he saw Chan quietly entering.
“How did it went?”
“As good as it could” Chan growled, furious. Changbin noticed a few scars on his arms and the bite on his belly.
“Did you ever told Y/N that—”
“Shut your mouth. I’m not in the mood for a lecture.”
“Wow” Changbin frowned. “You’re more stupid that I thought. You didn’t tell her about Hikari?” He only got a warning growl. “I can’t believe that you spend so much time here without telling her “yeah, just so you know, I’m a king and I’ve an arranged marriage but no big deal.” Now, she reeks of guilt.”
“It was a clear warning on their part” Seungmin rubbed his forehead. “You can’t ignore us or your duty anymore. More demons will come after them because she’s your weakness and a king’s weakness is the best way to gain power.”
“You are bonded to her children and I’m still wondering how it can be possible but you also are our king.”
“I am not abandoning you.”
“Well, it certainly looks like it. Jisung asks for you, every night. He misses you, Chan.” Seungmin said. “Minho won’t let it pass if Jisung starts to think you’re no longer interested in us.”
“Alright. I’ll come every night, after the twins sleep and, when they’ll be out on the week-end. Does it sound fair to you?”
“Yes.” Changbin nodded. “Now, about your wedding?”
Chan’s face fell and Seungmin sighed again. The young demon knew that Chan shouldn’t have accepted the wedding in the first place but it seemed like a good idea at the time. Hell was all about power, betrayal and balance and Chan knew that he could only rely on his brothers but a wedding was a new light, an alliance between two factions. Changbin was right; he was a king and he should act like one. It wasn’t fair to Minho to let him handle Hell while he had a good time on Earth.
“I guess I will marry Hikari…” He seemed pitiful and Seungmin gently patted his shoulder. “Guys, I’m sorry…”
“We get it, Channie. She’s nice and welcoming.”
“First time that a human asked me if I wanted a drink or a blanket and wasn’t running out of reach.” Seungmin chuckled. “By the way, how did the twins managed to summon you?”
“By accident. They draw on that wall and somehow it made my name.” Chan chuckled. “Did I tell you that she hit me with a pan when I came here for the first time?”
***
A few days later, you wondered if God hated you. I mean, after all, you let your own sons call a demon, kept the demon by your side, fell in love with him and never told anyone beside your best friends so, it made sense that God could really hate you. You felt terrible. Chan went for Hell yesterday and the twins were at school while you couldn’t move from your bed. Your sickness was so bad to the point that Yoongi had to bring your kids at school. Yesterday, you went to bed with a massive headache and when you woke up, the pain ways even worse as if someone tried knock your brain with a drill. You felt numb, as if you were made of cotton then your body ran suddenly cold and it sucked. And, as if the day couldn’t get worse, you got your period.
You had to get up to make breakfast and lunch for your kids because it was just a cold and your periods and they were only five. In the end, Hyunjin called Jimin and the man reassured him that you were just catching a cold and you needed to rest. He promised that Yoongi will pick them up soon so they have to get ready and ten minutes later, Yoongi was in your living room while you helped Felix with his jacket. He held you by your shoulder and put you back in your bed while the kids finished being ready.
You wanted to cry and did because you felt useless and not worthy of being a mom since Yoongi had to bring them to school instead of going to work. You fell asleep quite quickly, rocked by the quite relative silence.
A few hours later, you tried to get up; you needed some medicine and food for your belly. As you stand, your room started to turn, making you dizzy. You sat back on your bed, annoyed at yourself. “Whoever made these period ads deserves death. God, it’s awful.” Drowning in your self-pity, you didn’t hear the front door opening and someone calling your name. Instead, you groaned and fell on your side, hide in your blanket then closed your eyes to fall asleep again until you felt a cold hand on your forehead. You opened your eyes to see Chan smiling down at you. “Hell, Y/N. you’re burning up.”
“C-Chan? What are you doing here?”
“Jimin called me.” He smiled gently. “How are you feeling?”
“Awful.” You whined. “Are you here to end it?”
“I’m afraid not, my dear but here. I found this on my way back.” He showed you a little bag of medicine. “I also asked Minho to cook you something.”
“I must be dead.”
“Why?”
“Binnie told me that Minho doesn’t like me.” You pouted. He chuckled, hearing you using his brother’s nickname.
Somehow, the two demons took a liking on you and often spend some time with you, to talk, watch movie or do groceries. It seemed rather odd to you but you accepted it quickly, even buying some food to test and watching new drama. Sometimes, Seungmin asked you to watch baseball games and you gladly spend the afternoon watching the game with the young demon while working on a project.
“Yeah, he has a past with humans…”
“Oh.” You nodded “Is he afraid that I’ll hurt you?”
Chan blinked, a little surprised by your question then put some hair behind your ear. “Hm, kind of?”
“I see…” You yawned. “Channie?”
“Yes?”
“I promise that I won’t hurt you or at least try.”
He chuckled and you squeezed his hand before falling asleep again. The demon sighed, get a cold wet washcloth and put it on your forehead. You hummed in your sleep and your body turned toward him, making him smile and he kissed your forehead then went to the kitchen were Minho was. The demon had black hair, red horns, cat features and a sharp jaw.
As if he could feel Chan’s presence, the demon frowned. “What?” Minho rolled his head, focusing on the chicken soup and sighed.
“I can’t believe that you drop everything to be by her side.”
“You don’t know her, Min.”
“You don’t either, Chan! She is human! If you choose her as your bride, do you really believe that demons will follow you!? Human are food to them. I don’t want you dead because of her and her spawns!”
“Do not call them spawns!” Chan hissed back. “If you came to be bitchy, go back and leave me alone.”
Minho’s eyes turned purple for a second and Chan’s eyes turned red as an answer. Before it could escalate because they were two stubborn idiots, they hear your bedroom door opening and you slowly came, relaying on the walls to keep you up. Minho just had time to blink before Chan caught you in his arms; he knew that the oldest was quick and full of reflexes since Chan raised most of his brothers but it looked really like instinct when it came to you. To Minho, Chan looked concerned but a certain fondness could be spotted on his eyes and the demon with red horns sighed deeply.
“Hello…” You muttered.
“Y/N, you shouldn’t be up! You were asleep five minutes ago.”
“It’s okay, Channie. I’m just hungry and my belly hurts like a bitch.” Then your eyes find Minho and the demon glared as you offered a shy smile. “Thank you, Minho. I’m sorry you had to be here to help me. I could have use delivery service… that being said, your cooking smells so good! I promise to eat everything you cook.”
“You better.” Minho threatens with his ladle. “It’s not ready yet. Go back to sleep.”
“Alright. Thank you and I’m sorry.” Then you looked at the other demon that was still holding you. “You should go back.”
“Uh?”
“I’ll be fine, Channie. I promise. Jimin will come after he picks the twins up. I’ll take the medicine you brought me, eat the delicious food Minho made and go back to sleep until Jimin brings the twins. It’s okay. I know you have your duties too.” Chan hesitated and you slowly let go, already missing his warmth.
The very next morning after Changbin and Seungmin picked you up from the club, Chan came clean to you and your kids; he was a king but kind of let Minho rules while he was with you. You scolded him because not matter what, a king shouldn’t let his realm rules on itself. Minho was a really capable demon but he wasn’t made to be a king, not like they all knew Chan could be so you had to make a planning for him that could satisfy your kids, the demons and Chan. So, it was decided that when the kids were with their father, Chan would be ruling and once the kids came back, he came back as well. You also thought that he could rules also on some night, after the kids fell asleep. Unfortunately, since he got a pact with your kids, he could be away for too long because of the bound they created with him. It comically reminded you of Persephone.
“Are you sure? I can stay, I promise. I just have to clear my schedule until the kids come back!”
“What about a deal, hm?”
“I’m listening.”
“You go to work and I’ll update you on my health, every two hours until you’re free.”
“Or I can send Jisung to do that so you can sleep?”
“Chan. No more demons. I will be fine. It’s not the first time I have a cold and it is not the first time I got my periods.”
“But…”
“No but, Chan. I’m serious.”
“Since I’m already here” Minho piped in “I can stay and watch over her until this Jimin comes? The human can sleep peacefully without any stress” Minho glared at Chan and the king blushed. “And you can keep working without causing trouble.”
“Yes!”
You groaned and shook your head. Bad idea, to be honest; it made you dizzy even more. Minho chuckled at your misery. “Look, human, I know how he can be stubborn. Accept your fate.”
“But you don’t like me” you protested, sensing the headache coming back. “I don’t want to take your time, Minho. I’m sure you have other things to do. You already cook for me, that’s enough.”
He shrugged and you rubbed your temples; you couldn’t escape this apparently. Chan gently took your head between his hands. “Y/N, it will keep me focused if Minho stays. He’s not on busy today since Jisung is away for some quest.”
“I promise to not bother you, then.” You smiled. “Thank you, Minho.”
After being sure that you took you medicine and eat correctly, Chan went back to Hell. Before he left, he gave you his hoodie because you were shivering in your t-shirt and gave you a warm hug that you could still feel in your bones. Minho gagged behind the table, in Chan’s direct eyesight and the king subtly showed him his middle finger. Then, out of nowhere, he kissed your forehead and disappeared. You laughed and shook your head with warmth cheeks.
Once you were persuaded that he was gone, you joined Minho in the kitchen. Surprisingly, the demon started to talk to you. Small talks were rather odd to you but you listened to him ranting about anything and everything, quietly wondering if you made him nervous. That’s how you learned that Minho had a romantic partner, Jisung and his work as king was hell on hell and he was still wondering how Chan could be a king after so many centuries, he also loved dancing and doing some mischief in hell. You smiled, listening to him and tried to clean up your plate but Minho frowned, catching your wrist gently.
“What are you doing?”
“Cleaning?” You hated that it sounded like a question and Minho chuckled, shaking his head. “What?”
“Go to sleep, human. I will take of it.”
“But you cooked! I can clean!”
“You’re sick. Get lost.” You frowned but kept the sponge close to your chest until the demon sighed. He took his phone from his back pocket and you looked at him confused. “I’ll text Chan that you’re not listening to me and he’ll probably drop everything to put you to bed.” You were persuaded that the warmth on your cheek wasn’t related to your current cold. He took a picture and you gasped trying to take the phone but Minho was taller, stronger and quicker. “So?”
“Fine, you win.” You pouted and went to the couch.
“Go to your room, do not put germs on this couch. Do you want your sons sick?”
You shook your head and went back to bed, pouting. Meanwhile Minho sent the picture he took of you and got an immediate response.

Chapter Text
“So, Y/N?”
“That’s me?” You sighed, still lying in your bed, face in your pillow and your phone beside you.
“How are things with Chan?”
“Yeah, I want to know too!” Jimin piped in.
You groaned and turned to your phone; damn, you were still looking like a zombie. If you were honest with your best friend, it was awkward as fuck. You wanted to spend some time alone to think about what your mind and heart had to do but Chan was everywhere, every times. He took responsibility for your cold, managing the twins when you were out and spends sometimes in your room while working and cuddling you or giving you his hoodie.
The demon also updated you on everything they did. On the second day of your cold, you even got a visit from Changbin and Seungmin. While the king kept a close eye on your health. The youngest demon got a little cocky as he teased Chan about his protectiveness on you as if they were a threat to you. Then, on the third, the demons got dragged away by the twins.
“We are friends.” Jennie rolled her eyes and Jimin chuckled, shaking briefly his head “Stop imagining things. Besides, he is fiancé to a very scary demon and I don’t want to be a couple breakers.”
“Do you have a new hoodie? I never saw this one.” Your male best friend asked and you tilted your head, raising your hands to see if it was yours. But the sleeves were too long and you knew but so did Jimin and Jennie. “This one isn’t yours, uh?”
You shook your head and sighed. “No, it isn’t mine. I should change.”
“Is it comfy?” Jennie asked and you nodded. “Then keep it.”
“I really need to shower tho. I still look miserable but alive and my health starts to get better.”
“Alright! We will call you later then. The kids aren’t here?” You shook your head and sat on your bed.
“Chan took them with his brothers for a beach day.”
“Woah. Who managed to drag him out?”
“Felix” you chuckled.
“Of course it’s Felix.” Jimin commented while Jennie laughed and you could feel your found smile then rubbed your face to stop it. Suddenly, Jennie seemed uncertain and Jimin smiled sadly.
“Y/N” Jennie called softly “will you be okay?”
“Once my sickness and periods end? I’ll be back on track! It sucks to be a woman once in a month.”
“This is not what we meant and you know it.” Jimin scolded sympatric.
“I don’t know, guys.” You answered quietly and you smiled. “What can I do or say? It’s not like he loves me. A-And, even if he did, which he doesn’t, how could it possibly work between us? I’m not like her and I’m a failure!” You sobbed. “Ugh, bloody hormones!”
“Oh, Y/N.” Jennie whispered.
“You take that back, Y/N!” Jimin yelled, making you jump. “You aren’t a fucking failure! How dare you talk about yourself like that, uh? Should I come here and kick your ass!? None is allowed to talk bad about you, not even yourself!”
“Jimin.” Jennie sighed. “If he doesn’t love you because you’re you, Y/N, he can drop dead. We do not care about men or women that can’t love a hundred percent of ourselves!”
“Being asexual isn’t a shame, honey.” You heard Hoseok said faintly. “I’m sorry you had to believe that.”
“I’m going to kill your ex and we will fest on his dead body.” Taehyung said.
“I second that” Jimin yelled.
You laughed, tears still rolling on your cheeks and you tried to stop them with your blanket. Then Jennie asked if you wanted to go out this week-end. You shook your head; you were so behind your work because of your sickness. Jennie pouted and so did Jimin. Instead you asked if they want to eat at your place while Chan and the kids wouldn’t be there. They nodded and you invited their lovers as well then Jimin asked if he could bring a friend over, a man called Seokjin Kim who also was Namjoon’s cousin. You accepted and the call ended. As your screen turned black, you sighed in relief before heading to the shower. You changed your sheets and put everything in the washing machine and opened your windows. You checked your phone to see a few pictures of your kids sent by different brother each time in the group chat. As an answer, you sent back a selfie to celebrate the fact that you were indeed alive.

Don’t encourage them, Y/N.
You laughed and shook your head as you went to check all the drawers.
You still couldn’t explain how your house was full of demons but Jisung came the very next hour Minho was keeping an eye on you. He was a sweet boy and you liked talking to him. You just had to stop the energetic demon before he decided to kill Kyung because you talked about your sons and how sometime their dad made some comments about their clothes. Jisung was pissed; what if they want skirt and dress? Hell, he will get them, plenty of them even.
The twins were so happy to meet another demon who had similar taste in clothes and Jisung was simply happy to be with them. Let me tell you how sweet it was to see them exchange about everything and anything as if they always knew each other. That’s how you learned that they were only a day apart for their birthday. Felix shook your arm and jumped excitedly while Hyunjin cheered and you saw Chan ruffling Jisung’s hair fondly, like a dad look at his son.
Then, Jisung explained that Chan was this found of him because he was his first stray kid. You tilted his head and Chan sighed, explaining that his brothers weren’t related by blood, he called them brothers because it was what was closer for their relationship. They were his followers first, trusting his judgment and right in by his side when he decided to take over Hell. As Jisung said; they would follow him to Hell and back and you could tell that he meant that; for Jisung and Chan’s brothers, Chan is the best demon they ever meet. In your opinion, it was adorable that the literal king of hell was this flustered as his first brother complimented him and Jisung really loved complimenting him.
You sighed then left for some groceries. It didn’t took you very long as you knew what you need to cook and, once you reached your home, you find your front door already open but no sign of your car. As you guessed, your sons and their demonic uncles weren’t back. It also meant that someone potentially entered your home while you were doing groceries shopping. You gulped, wondering if it was Hikari behind this. So, you stay in front of your home, sending a quick text to Changbin, since he was on the top of your contact list.
[Me]
Binnie?
Are you alone right now?
[Binnie :) ]
Y/N, are you okay?
Why are you talking to me here and not in the group chat?
[Me]
I don’t want to alarm the others since Felix and Hyunjin are with you guys.
I just got home and our front door is open and it potentially means that someone is inside.
[Binnie :) ]
Alright, don’t panic.
I will come in a few minutes.
Let me grab my things.
[Me]
Thank u so much. <3
[Binnie :) ]
Hm, flash info; Chan is coming along and he’s angry.
I’m sorry Y/N…
[Me]
Uh? Why? What happened?
Binnie?
Binnie?
You groaned and waited for the two demons to come until you felt your phone vibrating in your pocket.
[Channie :) ]
Are you okay??
Why do you text Changbin instead of me?
I live in this house too!
You don’t trust me? :(
[Me]
I’m fine <3
I texted Binnie because he is the first in my contact list.
I trust you, dummy. I promise.
Before you could read his answer, you heard some kind of noise inside and sighed. You knew they were en route to your home but you were curious on who could possibly break into your house so, you took the stupidest decision and entered your home.
The noise stopped immediately but you still felt uneasy as you kept walking between your home’s walls. You took a deep shaky breath and put your groceries bags on your couch and a noise reached you; it was in your kitchen. You went quickly, still unsure on what you would find until you spotted a tiny form in front of your kitchen drawer, eating some chips. The thing had horns and you sighed in relief; it was only a demon. Wait, since when you were relieved to see a demon in your house?
Damn, they really put a spell on you. A demon could also mean that Hikari is now sending some of her puppets to freak you out. You took a step toward the creature until you felt a hand on your mouth.
“Don’t yell, it’s us.” Changbin whispered. You nodded at Changbin and he let you go. The demon stopped to eat and totally froze. Chan was leaning on the kitchen door, his arms crossed and you could see his red eyes flashing. Then, you walked closer, hoping it was fine and you gasped as you saw a literal child. A demon child was eating your chips in your kitchen.
“Jeongin.” Chan called, completely annoyed and before he could do anything, the child jumped on his feet and ran into your arms.
As a reflex, you hold him tightly and gently caressed his hair. Was it the last demon brother? Changbin sighed, pinching his nose then sent a quick text to the others and Chan growled, making the child whimper. You frowned at the king and Chan rolled his eyes.
“I told you that you could meet her soon, I didn’t mean break into her house and freak her out.” The child was still hiding his face in your belly and you held him a little tighter. Call it instinct, I guess.
“Jeongin.” You encouraged gently, as if you were talking to a scared wild animal. “I am not mad, alright?” The small demon nodded and you gently cupped his face, a bright smile on your face. “But Channie is right. I was a little scared. No more break in, hm?” He nodded again, his cheek a pretty pink and you patted his head. “Good. That’s good. Were you hungry?” He nodded again, his big eyes pleading you and you chuckled. “Fine. Do you know who am I?”
“Y-Yes…”
“Alright. Now that you’re here, do you want to help me cooking?”
He looked at you with wide eyes. “Chan, can I?”
“Depends, will you listen to her?” The child nodded and you chuckled as you went out to pick up your groceries, Jeongin following you like a duckling. As you arranged the different groceries you pick, Jeongin helped you with a huge efficiency as if it wasn’t the first time he came here. Shaking your head, you decided to start with the cheesecake and the young demon seemed so happy to do something with you that it made you smile as well as you explained what he could do to help.
A few hours later, the others came home and you got almost tackled by your sons. You laughed and hugged them back before sending them to their bath. Minho shooed you away from the kitchen and you thanked him with a pat on his shoulder and followed your son for their shower time. Now that they were sure they were alone, all of them turned to Jeongin who changed his appearance for a teenager.
“Hi”
“What are you doing here?” Seungmin asked. “Aren’t you with your master?”
The teenager shrugged before scratching his back. “No. She doesn’t need me at the moment so I wanted to see the human who stole my brother’s heart.”
“How can she not need you?” Jisung wondered.
“I graduated, morons.”
Minho slapped him behind his head and Jeongin only chuckled. “Watch your tone.”
“I like her.” He smirked. “She’s nice.”
“Who? Y/N?” Changbin chuckled. “Too nice for us.”
The others nodded and they talk for a while until they heard the twins in the stairs, followed by a really amused Y/N. Jeongin changed back in his child form and presented himself to your sons who were eager to have a friend around their age.
Then, you got some help in the kitchen and wondered how Minho got so used to be around you since he hate your guts when you met him for the first time. As you were making the dishes, Jisung joined to dry it and Chan put it away while Minho set the table with Seungmin and Changbin kept an eye on the kids. Somehow, it felt really domestic as if you all lived together for a long time.
After the diner, Hyunjin asked if you could watch a movie all together and the demons gladly accepted while you nodded. A few minutes later and with a part of the cheesecake, they sat on our couch and started to watch Encanto. You chuckled and took a picture of them then went to your office; you felt better so you had some job to do and it let you focus on something else. You were almost done with a new dress when you heard someone knock at your office door. You invited them to enter, still focusing on the dress with a needle in your mouth.
“Is that a dress for you?”
You froze; you thought it was Chan or one of your kids but you didn’t thought that Jisung would come to you and you put the needle away, shaking your head. “No, it’s way too pretty for me. My client asked me to create a fantasy dress for a shooting.”
“What are you talking about? It would suit you. I promise!”
“Thank you, Jisung. How can I help you?”
“Well, it’s really late and the kids are sleeping with Jeongin tonight. Is this okay?” You smiled and nodded; you didn’t mind that the demon child stayed since your sons loved him. “B-but…”
“Yes?”
“Can we also stay? I promise that we will be gone by morning but it’s also really late in Hell and we are tired…”
“Jisung, breath. you don’t have to justify to me, I’m fine with you staying but I don’t think I’ve enough beds, blanket or pillow. I’m sorry….” The demon took you in his arms and you gently patted his back, a little surprised. “Let’s see what we have, hm?”
“Yes! Thank you.”
You closed your office behind you, following Jisung who got a huge blanket between his arms that you found under your desk and you find them all lying in an old blanket and holding each others. “I’ll find the blankets I have. Do you want some pillow?” You whispered.
“Please.” Changbin smiled and you nodded before Seungmin and Chan escorted you upstairs. You find four other blankets and Chan took the one in his room with some pillows. Seungmin took two blankets out of your arm and Chan took the two others, letting hold the pillows. As you passed your sons’ room you smiled and quietly entered to kiss their forehead and whispered good night. You hesitated a second before doing the same thing to Jeongin’s head and the demon purred as you gently put some strand of hair away. You exited their room and joined the two demons who seemed a little confused at your attention.
“What?”
“You know, I never heard Jeongin purring. He is always throwing a tantrum whenever he had to leave to school and to his master.”
“How old is he?”
“Physically, it depends on his mood.” Seungmin explained. “He turned four centuries a few years ago which is like five or six in human age.”
“Did anybody leave with him when he was send at school or to his…master?”
“…No?” Chan answered and you slapped his shoulder. The demon hissed in pain but you only raised an eyebrow. “Why did you hit me?”
“How can you wonder that he is angry with you while you send him away and the only thing he want is to stay with you? You are his brothers, his family. Of course he would grow up with you instead of spending his time away. Damn, Felix would scream his soul out if he had to go without Hyunjin or me even if it’s school. He would hate it, so would Hyunjin. You’re probably his role model and he wants nothing more than be with you. Use your pretty brain and apologize.” You flicked his forehead and turned to the stairs, letting a flushed Chan behind you.
“A second away from combusting” Seungmin commented once you were far enough. “Hell, you’re so in love it’s painful to watch.”
“Minnie, please not now.”
“Sure. When you’ll get your head of your ass, call off the wedding and totally marry this woman, I will shut up.”
“I can’t and you know it.”
“It’s bullshit. You could make a way better deal instead of sacrifice your happiness.”
“You have an idea?”
“Channie, I was raised by Minho and you. Do you really think that I couldn’t have a plan B if this whole masquerade went shit?”
“I’m listening.”
“Tomorrow. I will tell you everything tomorrow but our priority should be this kids and Y/N safety.”
Chan nodded and followed the demon downstairs were all of their brothers were waiting for them. Jisung yawned as you installed the blankets and the demons thank you with a small smile. You smiled back and waved, wishing them a good night.
Suddenly you felt arms around you and you laughed as Changbin was holding you then , you were held by six demons. Then Jisung yawned, ready to sleep; it was time for you all to sleep. Chan went first, Seungmin held him like an octopus and Chan laughed before cuddling him. Changbin decided to go beside Seungmin and held his back, holding hand with Chan then Minho and Jisung joined them, putting their head on Chan’s belly and lap, holding hands as well. It was way too cute for your heart and you took a picture to send to your friends.

[Jen<3]
I love you too <3
Good night, Ji!
The next day, you were blessed by the most heartwarming sight; your sons and Jeongin joined the brothers. Jeongin was holding Chan, his head on his oldest brother’s shoulder Felix got his head on Chan’s knee while holding hand with Hyunjin who held Minho as if he was some kind of teddy bear. Jisung had his head on Minho’s torso while Changbin and Seungmin beside Chan, were holding each other and snoring quietly.
Once you took a picture and send it to your friends with a meme, you started to make breakfast. It was Sunday so you didn’t have to move out of your house today and it was a good thing. You took your medicine because even if you felt a lot better than three days ago, you didn’t want to be sick again. You heard someone moving in the blanket and wondered who could be the first one awake. You took a step back to see Jisung sitting in the blanket. He waved and you waved back before he stood up to join you and you gave him a plate full of pancake.
“You’re spoiling us… Thank you.”
“Did you sleep well?”
“I always sleep well when I’m surrounded by my brothers and Minho.”
Understandable; you loved sleeping being surrounded by your sons’ warmth when they ask if they can share your bed. You shared breakfast, talking quietly as one by one the demons started to wake up. In the end, only Chan and the twins were still sleeping. Somehow, in their sleep they found each other and now Hyunjin was between his arms while Felix held the demon’s back. This time, Minho took a picture and sent it to you so you sent the one you took. Jeongin held you from behind and you turned in his arm to ruffle his hair.
“Jeongin, it’s almost time for you to go back.” Changbin commented quietly.
Hm, the boy didn’t seem happy with it as he held you tighter and you grimaced; demon strength was no jokes. Sensing your pain, Minho frowned and took a step toward you but Jeongin kept holding you and you groaned. “Jeongin, let her go! You’re hurting her.” He ordered.
Tensing, the kid let go and you sighed in relief; you could finally breathe. You patted his head because he was still a child after all and he apologized for hurting you. you nodded; he didn’t mean to hurt you in the first place so, it was okay. You liked the fact that he apologized though.
As you focused back on the breakfast, you didn’t notice that Chan walking to Jeongin and grabbed him by his neck. The child whimpered, trying to escape his oldest brother and you gasped, surprised by the demon’s violence. “Chan, stop!”
The king stopped dead in his track and inspected you with a stare. “Are you okay?”
“He has strength but I’m okay” you shrugged. “I’ll probably have bruise but nothing that I can’t handle. Let him go. He reacted on distress.”
Chan looked at Jeongin who seemed ready to cry. You could easily read the fear in the kid’s face then Chan put him down and sighed. “We need to talk, you and I. Come on.”
It didn’t sound like a request more like an order and Jeongin hesitated before following the oldest in the stairs. You wondered if it would be okay but none of the others moved so you guessed that it would be okay. Felix tiredly rubbed his eyes at you and you hugged him before doing the same to Hyunjin. They got a little startled when Chan got up and worried about Jeongin being in trouble but Changbin was fast to reassure them; even if he was angry, Chan wouldn’t lay a hand on his brother.
***
The next few days passed really faster than expected; you had a lot of project to end while juggling between your sons’ activities and school life and you couldn’t be more grateful to have your friends and the demons to help you.
Today, Hyunjin told you, after you picked him up from his dance class that he’d have a main character role and you cheered way too loudly and asked if he wanted to tell everyone. He nodded quickly with a huge smile while you wondered who he would tell first. Hyunjin seemed to hesitate but he asked quietly if you could call his dad and you smiled already calling his dad. He beamed, your phone between his tiny hands and, when Kyung answered, your son didn’t even have time to speak. “What do you want!? I have no time for you or your nonsense.” You saw Hyunjin’s face fell and cursed mentally Kyung. “I-I…” Your baby sniffed and he started to cry. “Hyunjin? Oh, god. I’m sorry, I thought it was your mother.” His face turned even redder as you could feel his anger. “You’re so mean!!” and he ended the call under your shocked face.
Your son kept crying and you stopped your car before taking him in your lap and between your arms. He hide his face in your neck and you rubbed his back, whispering sweet nothing. Then, your phone ringed back and you wondered who could call you. You frowned as you saw “Channie :)” on your screen.
“Baby, Channie is calling. Do you want to talk to him?” Your eldest nodded in your neck and you took the call. “Chan, someone wants to talk to you.”
“Yeah, I could feel it.” He answered softly and you gave your phone to Hyunjin. “Hey buddy. How are you feeling?”
“Channie, he is so mean! I hate him. I wish that you were my dad!” You tensed at that; you often heard Hyunjin and Felix talking about their dad and you knew that Hyunjin was angry at Kyung because, according to their therapist, your oldest saw him as the evil who broke his mother’s heart and the mean man to his brother because of his clothes.
“Oh Hyunjin.” The demon answered, careful. “I would gladly have you as my son but it doesn’t work like that…”
“I love you, Channie.”
“I love you too, buddy. My little moon.” Hyunjin seemed to relax after hearing the nickname. You remembered that Chan often called Felix his “little sun” while Hyunjin was his “little moon” and you really found these nickname incredibly cute also absolutely accurate. “How was your day?”
Then, as if the whole chaos disappeared and he suddenly remembered that he had a good day before, Hyunjin excitedly told about his day and that he got the role they were repeating together. You could hear the phone call ending and you blinked, a little surprised until you got a FaceTime with the demon. Chan waved at you, a big smile on his face and his beautiful dimples on display as he congratulated him and told him that he was so, so proud of him and Hyunjin beamed, a faint blush on his cheeks.
Then, Chan told him to wait a second; you saw a black screen and suddenly heard a strange noise as if he fall then you heard running. You shared a smile with your son as you heard Chan yelling for his brothers to come. “Jeez, calm down, old man. You’re gonna have a heart attack.” Seungmin complained but Jisung asked what could possibly happen.
“Tell them, little moon!” And Hyunjin giggled before obeying. A few second passed until you heard screech and the demons jumping in the screen.
“We’re so proud of you!” Seungmin smiled.
“When are you performing? We will be there!!” Jisung added.
“I don’t know yet! Bur I can ask for a chair for you!”
“We would love that, Jinnie. You did great” Minho smiled.
“Such a good dancer!” Changbin praised and Hyunjin flushed at the praise but his smile was worth a billion of watts and it warmed your heart.
“Thank you! Will we see you tonight?”
“We will see, little moon.” Chan answered carefully. “We are proud of you!”
“Thank you. We’re going home. I love you!”
“Love you too!” They all answered in the same time and the call ended.
“Ma?” Hyunjin held you and you smiled, holding him back. “I really hope they will stay in our life forever.”
And you hoped that too, you couldn’t handle the heartbreak it will cause to your sons and you if they ever decided to leave. Once you reached your house, Jennie was making diner and Felix was already playing with Jeongin.
Since Chan had a talk with him in his bedroom and they get down two hours later with red puffy eyes, the demon child asked to stay with you and somehow, it felt like he lived with you since the beginning. He spend most of his time with the twins and sometimes kept an eye on them when he was in his teenager form but he followed Chan in Hell and spend some time with his brothers.
“Auntie Jennie! I got the role!!”
“Congratulations, my little rock star! I’m proud of you.” She hugged him and you hugged Felix who smiled at you, telling you that he managed to win against his first adversary in the taekwondo class.”Did you heard about our tiny warrior? I filmed it and sent it to Jimin and Chan!”
You watched the video with a proud smile on your face. “You did great, sunshine! I’m so proud of you, Lixie! Gosh, my babies are all grow up now.” You hug them and kissed their cheek then proceeded to call everyone to let your kids tell their wonderful day.
As bedtime came, you put your sons in their bed with their plushie and sat on Felix’s bed. Jeongin yawned as he went to the top bed and he smiled down at you with a fox plushie named FoxIn. The demon child loved the night ritual which was kind of basic; eating dinner together, bath time, pajamas and twenty minutes with their favorite TV show. When it was time to go to bed, you tucked them in and sang or told a story.
Tonight, Jeongin asked for a story and you wondered if your twins were okay with a story tonight. Hyunjin nodded while Felix asked if it could be about true love. You smiled and started to tell one of your favorite fairy tale; Beauty and the Beast. Felix was the first one to fall asleep around Belle imprisonment then it was Hyunjin when Beast let Belle go but Jeongin still seemed wide awake, listening to your voice and when you finished, he seemed a little curious.
“Can I ask questions?”
“Sure baby.”He flushed at the nickname and you smiled. “Don’t be afraid to ask.”
“Why did Belle fell in love with Beast? He was a monster and mean to her…”
“He was at first, yeah but he changed for the better after the pack wolf. Belle fell in love only when he was nice to her.”
“If you were Belle, would fall in love with the Beast?”
I’m already in love with one, you thought and seemed to think about it. Was it really hard to fall in love with Chan? “Yes, I would probably. Would you fell in love with a Beast?”
Jeongin seemed surprised by your question. “B-But, I am a beast?”
“Nah, you’re a soft boy, totally a Belle.” You smiled and Jeongin suddenly teared up. Well, shit. You didn’t mean to upset him and he seemed so lost. You took him in your arms and gently rocked him as he held you to cry.
“Oh, baby. I’m sorry… I didn’t want to make you cry. I’m sorry.” You kissed his forehead and he whimpered. “Shh, it’s okay. Let it out, sweetheart. You’re safe, I’m here.”
“I-I” he tried “I’m s-sorry.”
“What for, sweetheart? You did nothing wrong.”
“I-I, I c-cried in y-your s-shirt a-and now” his breath sounded harsh, too harsh for your liking. “I-it’s ru-ruined…”
“It’s okay, baby. Breath.” You smiled kindly. “Can you do something for me?”
“Y-yes?”
“I need you to follow me, alright? Take a breath in, like me. okay?” You took a deep breath and he followed you. “Good, sweetheart. Now, hold it.” He obeyed in total trust and you smiled. “You’re doing so good. Now breath out, like me.” You breathed out and he did the same. “Good job. Once again.”
You started again and again until Jeongin had calmed down. “You feel better?” He nodded and you ruffled his hair, making him purr. “That’s what matter to me. I won’t be mad because you cried in my arms, baby. I’m glad you did, it means that you’re feeling safe enough.”
“I feel safe here.” He confirmed quietly. “Last time I cried, my master punished me…”
“Well, she is wrong. It’s okay to cry, even for adults. It makes us feel better.”
“You cry too?”
“Yeah. When Kyung and I break up, I cried a lot at night. I still cry nowadays.”
“Why?”
“Because being an adult is hard and according to Jimin, I’m too soft for this world.”
“He is not wrong.” You gasped and he laughed so it was a kick to your pride but also you took it as a victory then he yawned and you put him back to his bed. “Y/N?”
“Yes baby?”
“Can you stay until I fall asleep, please?”
“Of course. I won’t go anywhere.” He smiled and turned before closing his eyes.
A few minutes later, his breath turned slower and you kissed his temple before half closing the door behind you. You almost had a heart attack as you saw Chan leaning beside the door. Apparently, seeing your freaked out expression amused him as he started to smile and tried to hide his laugh behind a throat clearing. “I hate you.” You groaned.
“Oh come on. I know you don’t.”
“Oh really? What makes you believe that?” You tilted your head.
“I am your favorite.” He smiled, showing off his dimples and you sighed. He was your favorite, of course he was but you couldn’t let him use that to his advantage.
“Actually…” You smirked, crossing your arms and his smile faded. “You’re totally the twins’ favorite even if Jeongin is getting closer because he’s their age.”
“I am their favorite???” He seemed surprised and you laughed, shaking your head; you couldn’t believe your ears. How can he even think that he isn’t their favorite? He was always here when they needed him the most.
“Don’t act all surprised. Of course you are their favorite. Kyung is so jealous of you, you have no idea. He called me to complaint that they couldn’t shut up about you and their cool uncles.”
“Is he still jealous of me?”
“Oh yeah.” You smirked devilishly and walked to the couch. Chan followed then sat beside you, a grin on his pretty face. “He’s still furious that you “got your way with me”.”
“Will you tell him one day?”
“What happens or didn’t happen in my bedroom is none of his concern. I will let him believe until the day I die. As far as I’m concerned, he can chock on it.”
“Wow, who are you and what have you done with my sweet Y/N?” You were practically sure that you imploded because the warm of your belly and in your cheeks and the demon seemed to notice. “Are you alright?”
No. “I am not sweet.” Nor yours, your mind supplied and you hated it for this comment but it was true. “I just… exist?”
“And yet, you let me, a demon king, live with you, share your food with me, let my brothers come and go as if your house was a mill, let me interact with your sons, trust me with them and let me do whatever I want with your computer. Damn, you even convinced me to let Jeongin staying here with me, you and your kids. I didn’t even notice that he was unhappy but you told me and I could never thank you enough.” His smile faded as he seemed deep in his thoughts. “I spend centuries with my brothers but I feel like I still fail them.”
“It happens.” You shrugged. “You can’t always be perfect but at least you tried to be there for them and that’s what matters.”
“I let Minho manage Hell while I was here. I gave him a burden he didn’t want because I wanted to stay… I sent Jeongin away because I thought it was for the best. Sometimes, I wonder why they’re still following my command.”
“They trust you. Minho was… angry with you for a while but, he had this found smile whenever he talks about you because no matter what, you are his older brother that he loves very much.”
“He told you that?”
You laughed, clearly amused by his question; Minho would rather die in a painful death than say I love you to Chan. He would act all annoyed while his brother was around but he would do anything for Chan. “Chan, we’re talking about Minho here. Use your pretty brain. Of course he didn’t tell me but it’s the way he looks and talks about you.”
“You’re telling me this to make me feel better.” He dodged your glare and you sighed, taking a pillow between your arms.
“Does it work?”
“Yeah.”
“Well good because I could ramble on how they love you to hell and back.” You chuckled, remembering that Jisung was the one telling you this joke. “You’re a great brother and leader to them, Channie. I know that.”
“Can I hug you?” You blinked, a little surprised but put the pillow beside you and opened your arms as an automatism; skinship was really a thing in your family and you didn’t mind a hug from the demon. Hugging between friends was totally normal as well! He took place between your arms and put his head on your shoulder. “Thank you….” You gently patted his head and he smiled. “Are you sure they still love me?”
“A hundred percent sure” you said. “Want me to tell why I fiercely believe in their love toward you?” He nodded on your shoulder and you started to talk.
“Well, like I said. Minho is like a cat, he won’t clearly yelling at your face “I love you” but I saw how he acts around you. He would drop everything to help you if needed. He also got a little childish when you don’t give him enough attention. Binnie wouldn’t hesitate to yell “I love you” in your face if you asked and crushed you with his big muscles. He is physically strong like incredibly strong, loud but really attentive of his surrounding especially you or your mood, I believe he is like a gentle teddy bear that you could cuddle whenever you feel down. Jisung is… loud and energetic, a crack head but so adorable and sincere on his feelings. Like, he couldn’t hide his emotions to save his life. He would do anything for you and Minho. When I meet him for the first time, he couldn’t stop talking about you and how you saved his life… Seungmin is really calm and composed like, you couldn’t even know what he is thinking but I guess it’s in the way he teases you? Calling you old man and grandpa whenever he can. He likes showing his love by teasing you. To Jeongin, I’m really sure you are his role model. This boy wants your approval and he loves being around you even if he acts like he doesn’t.” You smiled and kissed his temple. “You are worthy of their love, Channie.” He tensed then suddenly melted in your arms.
“Thank you…” He whispered and a voice told you that it wasn’t only for the hug.
You caressed his hair, focusing on the TV in front of you because if you focused on him, you would probably do something really stupid like kissing him. Then you heard a loud noise and lowered your eyes on Chan. The demon ignored you but you noticed his ears turning a deep shade of red while his cheek coloured pink. Did, did he just purr? Until now, only Jeongin purred this loudly around you. You heard often Chan purring around your twins but never this loud.
Jisung explained that the purring was a feeling of safety and trust, sometimes affection but you ignored that and kept caressing his hair in silence. And, without a warning, Chan fell asleep on you. Carefully, you arranged his body on your couch before putting a blanket on him. He frowned a little but didn’t open his eyes; mission accomplished. You tiptoed to your room and fell on your bed. It started to be dangerous as you grew closer to Chan.
He was fiancé, for fuck sake! You hated the fact that your heart turned your brain off whenever he was around the demon because it fucking hurt you, because Chan was fucking taken.
***
Jimin dragged your group friends to your front door and you waved at them, a huge smile on your face before opening. Jimin introduced you to Jin who seemed rather pleased to meet you as he shook your hand with vigor. “Hi! I’m glad to finally meet the woman Jimin can’t shut up about.”
“Nice to meet you, Jin.” You giggled. “Come on in! I hope you heard only good things?”
“Oh, yeah!” He said, following you in your open area. “I believe you and I have a lot in common.”
“Do we?” You tilted your head, trying to find any physical feature you could share with the handsome man but you couldn’t find any. He was tall but got a broad shoulder, pretty face, brown hair, brown eyes and his laugh oddly sounded like a windshield wiper. After you carefully examined him, Jin’s smile grew mischievous as he patted your head like a brother would do.
You wondered for second what happened and if you were just really blind. “I’m sorry, Jin. I don’t know what we could share…”
“I am an aromantic at heart, darling. Life got me a beautiful face but forgot to give me romantic feelings.”
“Oh!” You smiled then laughed “Welcome to your group then, don’t worry, it feels like a zoo sometimes but we really love each other as a weird family.”
“Talking about love, your boy isn’t here?” Yoongi asked, leaning against Hoseok’s side.
“Chan?” You tilted your head and the man nodded. “He is not my boy.”
“It’s odd to see you without him.” Jimin commented.
You blinked at that. I mean, Chan was always around the house whenever your friends came, so yeah, it had sense but looking at Jimin, it wasn’t an innocent comment and you sighed. Jimin raised an eyebrow then took his beer before smiling, a knowing smile as if he knew something that you don’t. Fortunately, Jennie called you for a change of subject. And you couldn’t thank her enough for it.
Your feelings were complicated and you knew that Jimin was the devil in your shoulder trying to push you between the demon’s arms but your guilt was eating you alive. You heard Hoseok scolding his husband and his boyfriend for bringing the demon but you already joined Jennie in the kitchen. It was quiet and she smiled at you, giving you the different bottle of juice and alcohols.
Tonight, you were welcoming Jin and celebrating for Hyunjin’s role, your friends promising themselves that you will do a proper party for your son. You laughed a lot because of Jin and his easy going personality who always had a joke ready and on the right timing.
You remembered some adventure you got as teenagers and your favorite memories as if it was yesterday but it also gave you opportunity to know Namjoon and Jungkook better. It was kind of funny to see Jungkook and Jin bickering like brothers would do and something dragging Namjoon in their bickering.
Then, the next few hours were for a huge karaoke party where you laughed you ass off and cried so hard because of the mess in your living room.
Around three in the morning, Hoseok, Yoongi and Jimin were the first one to go home since Hoseok was completely wasted and refused to sleep outside of their queen sized bed because his lovers couldn’t cuddle him properly. Yoongi was sober so you didn’t call a taxi but you stayed outside until they all got inside their car and asked for a text once they were home. Jimin waved and you waved back until you couldn’t see the car anymore.
Then, Namjoon and Jungkook left since Namjoon had class the next day that he couldn’t miss. You chuckled and patted his shoulder; sometimes, being a teacher sucks. You escorted them to the front door where a taxi was waiting for them. You hugged them and waved until they got in the taxi, asking for a text once they reached home. Jungkook nodded and Namjoon yawned beside him. Once they were gone, you turned back inside and Jennie smiled before cuddling back to Tae’s torso. It was suddenly quiet and you sat on the floor, next to Jin who ruffled your hair and you smiled. You played different game trough the night until the sun rise and you fell asleep on Jin, your head on his lap, a small blanket on you while he got another blanket and your friends took the other couch.
“What the…?” You groaned at the faint whisper, turning to your pillow until you feel a cold hand on your cheek. “Y/N?”
“Chan?” You yawned, still a little sleepy. “What are you doing in my room?”
“I am not in your room, darling.” His voice was colder than usual and you sat before rubbing your eyes, blinking around then you realized that you didn’t have a pillow but your head was on Jin’s leg. Oh right, you fell asleep on him. “Did you have fun?”
“Yeah. We laughed a lot and Jin is really something else” You smiled and gently put the blanket on the man’s lap before looking at the demon. He was kneeling beside you, tilting his head with a weird expression and his eyes were cold as if he was glaring at you. You frowned. He seemed different today, angry and you didn’t like that.
You took a whole minute to study him; his hairs were black today and straighten, it meant that he was freshly out of Hell. Chan never had his hair straighten in your house, Hyunjin often said that he loved his natural curls and Felix loved to play with it, so yeah, curly hair. He got this weird slit in his eyebrow and half of his face was hidden behind a mask. Which, strange because he never saw him using a mask around your little family.
Wait, did it mean that he got hurt in Hell? Dressed in black with a leather corset vest without sleeves, the demon got the famous croc-top, under his vest, with long sleeves and a cargo pants with his combats boots.
“Are you okay?”
“Yes.”
“Are you mad at me?”
“No.” oh, he totally was but you still didn’t why he was mad at you. Did you do something strange yesterday? Oh god, you hoped you didn’t send a weird text while you were tipsy. It wouldn’t be the first time; you texted Namjoon once, asking if you can call him God of Destruction and called him cute. Since then, Jimin usually took your phone and hide it until the party is over and you’re hangover. ”Who’s the new guy?” He pointed behind you.
The guy? Oh. You smiled at him, explaining that Jin was a friend of Jimin and Namjoon’s cousin. “We meet him yesterday and—”
“Did you guys fuck or something? Was it good?” Oh, wow. You didn’t expect that. What the actual fuck?? His anger got the better of him but you felt it like a stab to your heart because no matter what, your heart belonged to him, to Chan. You sighed then got up; you didn’t want to see him right now. He followed your steps and you wanted him gone. You didn’t want to deal with him right now. “What? I’m just asking. Don’t be so upset, Y/N. Come on.”
“Welcome back, Chan.” You smiled then dropped your joyful expression. “For once, I really hoped you stayed in Hell… ” He seemed surprised by your answer but you didn’t care as you went upstairs.
As soon as the door closed behind you, you started to cry and you stayed sat down on a cold floor for like twenty minutes, frustrated and angry. You cried hard, letting all of your emotions evaporating from your system but the pain remained still here as if you just had to live with it until the day you die. You thought about Kyung, your relationship and wondered if it will always be like this. If you will always ending up crying for a non-existent love, if whatever divinity tried to punish you for falling in love with a demon and welcoming five of his brothers.
You also think that you were cursed or if you just needed to harsher your heart until you felt numbness. Shaking your head, you whipped your tears and turned your speaker on; it was stupid and you knew it. Your love was your strength and you loved with you whole heart. So what if you wouldn’t stop loving even if it hurt like a damn bitch? You loved love and that was it.
You played the first playlist and got under the warm artificial rain. You cried your soul out and got the comfort of a warm shower, you started to heal already. And, if the shower and your tears mixed up, it was between you and God.
You took your time to think, accept your feelings in and changed for comfy clothes. When you exited your bathroom and walked to the kitchen, Jin was already up with a cup of coffee while Jennie and Tae were eating some pancakes.
“Wow, Y/N. You look terrible. Was I an awful pillow to your face?”
“Good morning to you too, Jin.” You smiled but seeing Jennie frowning, you guessed it looked more like a grimace. “Hi Jen, hello Tae.”
“Do you want a hug, love?” You didn’t even think as you hide your face in Tae’s chest. “Do you want to talk about it?”
“It hurts” you whispered, tears already ready to fall. “I hate him for being so him, for making me fall in love and I hate myself even more for loving him” You sobbed. “B-because every day I try to stay away, to be a friend but I… I can’t because I’m so weak for him. I want to hold his hand and never let go.”
“Did you tell him?” Jin asked quietly and rolled his eyes when you didn’t seem to understand his question. “Did you tell him that you were asexual?” You sighed and shook your head. it’s not that you didn’t want to tell him but it was never the right time and thought that it was obvious with the talk about gay pride and the ace flag on your wall.
Suddenly, Jin decided that it was total bullshit and he flicked your forehead. “Y/N, are you stupid? He obviously doesn’t know about your asexuality. Jimin told me about your ex, did he know?” You nodded “Why did you tell him?”
“Because… Because I thought that we would end our life together and I didn’t want to lie to him about this… I guess I trusted him?”
“How long did it take?”
“I told him once we got together. I didn’t want him to have hope.”
“Was Kyung mean to you about it?”
“Yes.” You answered without a second thought and Taehyung tensed around you. You never told them really how your ex could have been so suspicious of you. Sometimes, when he was drunk, Kyung accused you of cheating on him with others people while he was at work but you worked at home to keep an eye on the twins.
You were faithful to him and it hurt so deep that finally, he was the one cheating. You remembered the sleepless night, helping him throwing up in your old bathroom while he told you profanities and how he could have any woman he wanted if he really tried and that you should really have sex with him, right here and right now.
You had to explain so many times that you craved physical contact, that you loved kisses, hugs and even hand holding but you never find the appealing of sex so, you were fine with that, gentle touches. “You should have been a nun, Y/N! What a waste!” Kyung yelled once and his friends laughed at your face.
“He didn’t understand the concept of asexuality and I guess he really wanted to fuck me… Maybe I should have at least tried?”
“Remember what I told you when you and he broke up?” Jennie asked quietly.
“If I forced myself it would have done more damage?”
“Yes. I stand by that. Forcing yourself to have sex isn’t healthy.”
“B-But I never tried! What if?”
“Would you eat lemon with vinegar, chocolate and some barbecue sauce?” Taehyung asked suddenly.
“No?”
“Even if I promised that it would be good for you? A great experience that you should absolutely try?”
“I mean, I already want to throw up after you asked me that? I trust you, Tae but no.”
“Then, it’s the same with sex. You don’t have to try if you don’t want to. It’s your body. You know your limits and none else.” He kissed your forehead. “Kyhung could jump of that fucking cliff and I would still gladly help him.”
“Same!” Jennie smiled while Jin sighed and you smiled at the man.
“Thank you.” You whispered. “For being my friend and for helping me seeing the light. It means a lot to me”
“Call your idiot back and, you know, talk to him.” Jin said and you nodded. “You don’t own anyone an explanation but it would you appease your heart a little for what I see, he wouldn’t be a little bitch about your asexuality and insecurities. I even believe that he would fight every one of them.”
“He left…?” Taehyung put you on a chair while Jennie gave you a pancake.
Jin sighed and nodded. “I believe that he felt guilty that his jealousy got the better of him.” You blinked. Uh? “Yeah, Y/N. He was jealous to see you cuddling me.”
He ruffled your hair, announcing that he had to go because he was late for work and you escorted to your front door where you found Jeongin in his teen form and Jisung, ready to knock. “I’ll see you around, Y/N.” He waved and you waved back as he drove away then turned to the two demons.
Before you could do anything, they were hugging you and you laughed, hugging them back. “Hi.”
“He is an idiot and he knows it.” Jisung said instead. “I’m mad at him!”
“Oh, Jisung.” You kissed his cheek. “I’m glad you’re here. Come on, it’s getting colder and colder.”
“Because it’s almost winter.” Jeongin said as they followed back inside. “I was worried, you know…” You tilted your head as you started to make breakfast for them and the teen sighed. “I was worried that you wouldn’t see us anymore.”
“Aw, baby.” You opened your arms and he blushed before hugging you. “No matter what happen between Chan and I, you’re always welcomed here. You’re stuck with us and we love you way too much to let you all go without a fight.”
“You love us?” Jisung asked shyly and you took his hand with a warm smile, making the demon smile widely. He was way too cute for your melting heart. Sitting in his usual place, Tae chuckled while Jennie shook her head with a found smile. “What? We never know!”
“Y/N literally adopted you. I’m pretty sure you all have your own designed pajama in one of her closet” Jennie said, shrugging and you slapped her shoulder with a frown; it was a secret, damn it. “You can escape her love now. You’re part of the family until you die. Welcome in the family, boys.”
Jisung nodded solemnly while Jeongin purred, his head on your back and his arms around your middle. It felt…nice. Jisung asked if you ever would talk to Chan and you sighed; you had to talk about a lot of thing with the king but you decided to talk tomorrow because you needed to think of how you would tell him. It didn’t stop you to send a text.

Chapter Text
Your sleep was interrupted by your phone and you groaned quietly. It was a hard night; you spend the whole time thinking about Chan and how you could actually tell him everything and you fell asleep only two hours ago. Shit, your sleep management was fucked up. Fortunately, Jisung stayed by your side, erasing every doubt you could have about yourself and your friend. Jeongin went to bed but you weren’t really surprised to find him in your bed and you gently caressed his head before sighing; Yoongi was calling.
“Hello, Yoongi.” You whispered and yawned. “Is everything okay?”
“Y/N, are you still at home?”
You frowned, looking at your phone; it was around seven in the morning. You had no intention to leave your house until your meeting with Chan and picking your sons up. You explained that yeah, you were still in bed and too early to do anything. Yoongi sighed in relief and you frowned.
“Yoongi, are you alright?”
“Please, Y/N. whatever you do, do not leave your house. Hobi will bring your kids home but please, do not leave your house.”
“Yoongi, you’re worrying me. Please, talk to me. Why are you so scared?”
“I can’t tell you but please, for our friendship’s sake, do not leave your house today.”
He hanged up on you and you looked at your black screen a little surprised. You knew that Yoongi can be a little harsh but you also knew that under all of his coldness was a caring heart. You didn’t like the way he was begging you to stay at home, it worried you and you wondered if you were in any kind of danger. Well, Hikari was still after you, after all but she didn’t know where you lived because she would already have done something.
Instead of the rest of your friends, Yoongi knew that Chan was a demon right away, you didn’t even have to explain, he just kind of knew. You obviously told the others a little later but Yoongi just…knew. Now that you thought about it, it was kind of strange even if Jennie could guess thanks to your twins and the forgotten charm but Yoongi never saw the horns of the different demons you frequently welcomed. How could he know?
You were out of your thoughts when Jeongin whined beside you. Somehow, in his sleep, he needed to touch you as he put his head on your belly while his arms surrender your middle. You smiled gently and caressed his head. Almost immediately, he calmed down, trying to fusion with your belly and you giggled a little. Damn, he was so cute. Today, apparently, he didn’t want to be a child as he turned into his teenager form.
“Y/N?” He whispered.
“I’m right here, baby. Go back to sleep, it’s okay. You’re safe.” You kissed his temple and he didn’t fight you as he fell asleep again.
Then, Jisung joined you and you waved, a big smile on your face. The demon smiled kindly as he joined you on bed and you thought that you needed a bigger bed because no matter what, Chan and his brothers were cuddle monsters. You fell back on your mattress; apparently, it was too early for the young demons to be awake and Jisung choose to put his head on your shoulder and you kissed his hair. He sighed and closed his eyes.
“I’m glad that I meet you, Y/N.”
“Oh, Sungie. I’m glad too, sweetheart.”
“You know, in Hell, we never meet our parents. They either throw the kids in the fire or abandon them in the streets.”
He didn’t seem affected by it, to him, it sounded just like a fact but you felt your heart broke. It was so unfair, they were just babies and they didn’t deserve that. You held him a little tightly and he smiled sadly.
“Is that weird that I” he hesitated “I see you like a maternal figure?” He blushed and hid in your neck. “Damn, that was so cringe. Forget about it.”
“No, no, Sungie. It’s okay. Talk to me, sweetheart.”
“Well, sometimes, Chan acts like a dad to us. He protects us, teaches us and scolds us when we’re too…demonic.” You chuckled at that but listened. “But, but you are warm to us. Like, we can talk with you for hours about anything and you never judge us. You cooked for us and let us do whatever we want in your home. You hug us, kiss our hair or forehead. You calm us down and spend time with us whenever we are down.” He sighed deeply. “I was afraid when Chan decided to stay with you, worried that you would be awful and mean but… Gosh, I’m so sorry. I’m sorry I thought that about you.”
“Jisung, it’s okay. I promise. You were worried about your brother. Chan is your rock, he saved and raised you. I understand your way of thinking.”
You felt something wet in your neck and cooed. Carefully turning to not startle Jeongin, you hugged Jisung, hiding him between your arms. He cried for a little time but you whipped his tears with your sleeves.
“My sweet Jisung” you smiled. “Like I said yesterday, you’re stick with me, with my sons. I love you, all of you. Do not hesitate to come to me whenever you feel like you need it. I will always have time for you. You’re my boys now.” You winked.
“I love you.” He whispered back. “I must look like a mess…”
“Nah, you just cried a little. You’re still a cute quokka.”
“Can you all now stop talking?” Jeongin groaned. Jisung laughed and gently hit him on the shoulder.
“Boys, no fight in my bed.”
“Sorry” They both said and you laughed.
Jeongin held you a little tighter and you smiled, warm between these two young demons. You yawned, Yoongi odd warning forgotten and fell asleep quickly.
When you opened your eyes again, the bed was empty but you could easily heard some trouble in the kitchen. You chuckled to yourself and went to the kitchen to find all of the demons, excepted Chan in your house. You smiled and welcomed them all with a hug. Changbin seemed a little surprised but he hugged back fiercely and you were glad that Minho stopped him from breaking your bones. The silver horned demon told you that he thought you wouldn’t have them in your house anymore because Chan was mean. Seungmin chuckled with an “I told you that when moms and dads fight, they still love their kids. We are their kids.” Minho rolled his eyes and you laughed at their antics. Then you told them that you had to leave soon to meet Chan. Jeongin seemed happy to hear that as you sat with them. They kept talking about different topics and you listened to them until you finished breakfast and you sighed as you had to get ready. You took a quick shower, get dressed and as you were tying your shoes you smiled at the demons.
“I’m off to see Chan. You can stay here and watch TV or do whatever you want but please, do not set our home in fire. Alright?”
“Yes ma’am!” They all said before running for a last hug and you hugged them back before leaving.
You took the bus to the coffee shop; you didn’t want to drive or walk to the city but something was off. You got that weird feeling and frowned. Maybe it was because you were on a bridge? It was small but you hated bridge, always afraid that somehow it would broke. Hm, maybe you should stop watching catastrophe movie. Your bus passed the bridge in no time and you sighed in relief as you heard the driver used his turn signal to go left and you were almost in your stop when you felt a hand on your neck. You tensed, trying to escape but a voice stopped you death in your track. It wasn’t a human. You could tell by his orange eyes and you gulped.
“Follow me.” It wasn’t a demand and you knew it. The man in disguise dragged you out of the bus and you started to panic. Your legs were shaking and your heart wouldn’t stop its course. “Good girl.”
You hated it. Oh god. Chan. He was waiting for you in the coffee. “Wait!”
“What do you want?”
“Chan is waiting for me. If I don’t show up, he’ll get worried and—”
“Shut up. You really think that a king of hell would be worried about you, a basic human? Please.” Without a warning, he threw you against a wall and you whined in pain. “You mean nothing!”
He grabbed you by your hair and you yelled as he threw you against another wall. He laughed coldly in your ear before slamming your head against it and you saw stars before the darkness caught you.
***
You opened your eyes but closed them as quickly; it was too bright and your headache killed you. You could tell that you were chained by your ankles and wrists but also got something around your neck. Step came closer to you and someone grabbed your hair, lifting your head and you weren’t very surprised to see Hikari in front of you with a cruel smirk. You were fucked.
“Look who blessed us by her presence.” She yelled and you winced because your head still hurt; the demon before hit way too strongly. You probably had a contusion right now. “The meat bag, who believes that the king and his useless princes love her, is finally awake.”
Before you could think, you defended the princes and got slapped. “You dare talk, meat? I can’t say that you got some bravery in you. I wonder what his majesty could possibly love about you. You’re nothing fabulous, no qualities, no strength. You’re weak and useless.”
You opened your eyes and started to smile. Damn, were you already losing your mind? “Are you done? You sound jealous to me.” The rational part of you wondered an instant were you got this confidence while you probably end up dead in any scenario. Hikari let go of your hair but she grabbed your throat instead and pined you against the wall. You whined, trying to fight but she was stronger than you ever will be.
“Jealous? Jealous of what? You?” She hissed and you bite your tongue because the confident part of you wanted to talk. “I’m a queen of hell! I am better than you in any point. The best tormenting demon in hell and you are just a little cockroach under my boots.”
She was so close to your face that you could smell her breath and you grimaced as you smelled blood and death. Then you heard a door opening in your right and a loud gasp. “Mistress?”
All of you confidence vanished when you saw Jeongin standing between two others demons. He seemed so young, so lost and once again, you felt your heart break. It wasn’t fair and you hated whoever put the youngest demon in this position. Of course, Hikari was Jeongin’s mistress, his teacher and you already felt anger as she touched his cheek. He tensed as if she would punch him and he looked at you. You felt his distress, his fear, his sadness and the pure form of hate toward Hikari. The woman turned her head to him, a wide smirk on her lips but she didn’t let you go.
“Innie, baby.” You felt uneasy hearing her calling baby. It sounded so wrong coming from her. “Today, I will teach you how to torture a human body. In Hell, sometimes, we have to break the body to catch the soul. You need to know how to do it.”
“No.” He whispered. “I, I c-can’t! I, I can’t do that to h-her!”
“You need to learn, Innie.” She answered sweetly and you wanted to gag. “What would Chan says, hm? You don’t want to be the useless prince? Aren’t you purchasing your dream of being a good demon for your king?”
That’s was a low blow and he started to cry. You had pride to never hate anyone in your life but Hikari was surely breaking your patience; you wanted nothing more for her to drop dead. How dare she make cry your baby? It was too much. You spited in her face as she was still holding you and she yelled before letting you fall. The chains kept you from hurting yourself too much but you got up with difficulties.
“How dare you talk to my son like that?” You hissed and Jeongin looked like a fish out of the sea then his tears got bigger but he tried to whip them with his sleeves He wanted you to be proud of him; he wanted to be stronger for you. “You have beef with me, Hikari. Let him out of this.”
This time, it wasn’t a slam or a slap; you got punched on your face and you fell on the cold ground as Hikari decided that it was enough. She became a real beast, attacking faster and faster as you felt your skin being ripped. You refused to scream but you could hear Jeongin trying to stop this madness, fighting the others demons to reach out for you. Then, she grabbed you again as she rose on her feet, lifting you up as well and she smirked, showing her fangs.
“Your son, hm? Stop lying to yourself, Y/N. Creature like us can’t love and can’t be loved. Look what you have done.” She made you look at the two demons holding Jeongin on the floor, kneeling. He was bruised and bleeding, making you even angrier. “Look at this. I will have to teach him a lesson, again.”
“Do not touch him” you warned.
“Oh, meatbag, I won’t touch him…. Much.” She punched you again.
“No!” He started to move, fighting the two demons. “Please! I will do anything!! Don’t hurt her! Please!!”
“You’re begging, Innie? Where is my fierce little prince who didn’t hesitate to push some demons and souls in the oblivion, uh?”
“Hikari, I’ll do anything but please. Don’t hurt her.” He begged again. “I can’t lose her, she’s” he hesitated “She’s my mom.”
You heart melted and you smiled at the teenager. He tried to smile back, his ears redder than in your memories and his smile didn’t reach his eyes. You wanted to hug him so badly when suddenly you remembered what Yoongi told you this morning; whatever you do, Y/N, do not leave your house. Oh god. You were so stupid and it leaded you here.
A sudden yell outside the room made you jump and you wondered what you possibly happen when you spotted Yoongi in the corner of the room. He seemed sad, his eyes teary and you wondered if you hallucinated when the closed door exploded. You just had time to blink before the two demons holding Jeongin where turning into dust as Seungmin killed them both. He seemed really mad as he threw a weapon at Jeongin who nodded. You gasped as suddenly around fifty demons separated you from them.
“Kill them!” Hikari ordered. “If the Rottweiler is here it means that the wolf is near!”
Rottweiler? Wolf? What the hell? You heard Seungmin’s laugh and it gave you literal chills; it wasn’t his usual kind or teasing laugh. It sounded oddly dangerous in your opinion.
“You never learn, Hikari, do you?” Seungmin groaned as he fought the demons. “I guess your time is up.”
You wanted to laugh but didn’t have time when all of the other demons joined Seungmin and Jeongin. Hikari swore as Minho cupped Jeongin’s face between his hands and quickly turned to Hikari with a death stare. You couldn’t see Chan but you knew he was close as the five princes made a path to you and the female demon. She paled as they got closer and then, you saw him. Chan walked in the room like he owned it, like the king he was. He got this dark crimson and black fur coat, a red and black velvet corset with a leather black jean. He got black knees boots and leather gloves. You wondered what happened to his hair because instead of the blond/silver hair he got dark hair with dark purple strands. His face showed some dark make-up and a huge scar on his left eye. You knew he didn’t have this cut earlier and you wondered what could have happened. Contrary to your belief, he hasn’t tiny back horns. This time, they were bigger than you remembered them. His eyes were crimson and his facial expression screamed nothing but murder.
“Chan.” You smiled.
“You were late.” He answered, shrugging and you giggled.
“I’m sorry, Channie.”
He sighed in relief, a small smile on his face but the smile quickly disappeared as Hikari stabbed you right in your stomach. You spitted some blood, your eyes wide open as you finally took the pain in. You heard a collective gasp then a growl and finally, Hikari let you go but she didn’t have a choice as Chan tackled her away from you. Your body fell like a doll but Minho was quick to catch you. Seungmin cute the rope while Jisung took your hand and Jeongin ran by your side.
“Y/N! Stay awake.” Minho instructed. “You’re gonna live, don’t worry.”
You smiled at the red horned demon but you could see the tears in his eyes. In your peripheral vision, Yoongi walking and kneeled beside your head and just like the others, he was crying. You heard Jisung calling for Chan and a second later, the king was by your side. He got some blood on his face, probably Hikari’s but you didn’t care and gently touched his cheek. He grabbed your wrist and you whipped his tears with your thumb. He slightly turned his head to kiss your hand and you smiled gently.
“It’s okay, Channie. It’s okay.” You whispered. “Take care of them, please. Raise my little boys for me.”
“Stay, Y/N, please. I, I can’t lose you.”
“The Grim Reaper is here, love. I can’t stay.”
“Oh hell.” Minho whispered and he got up to kick something. “Fuck!”
Jisung joined him for a fierce hug before coming back near you. Yoongi made a strangled sound as if it pained him to take your soul and it made you smile; you weren’t angry at him for doing his job. Your time has come and it was unfair but your time was up. You couldn’t be saved and you knew it. The pain in your belly was too strong; Hikari aimed her strike to kill not to hurt.
“Chan!!” Changbin yelled while the others gasped. “Your wings!!”
Chan blinked then gasped as huge feathered wings moved in synchronization in his back. “You’ve been blessed, brother!” Jisung smiled behind his tears. “Save her!”
The king nodded as Minho put a spell on you. “Go! Quick! You can save her!!”
You felt his arms around you one last time before darkness took a hold on you.
***
When you opened your eyes, it was in a white room, really cold and impersonal. You sat in the bed and you spotted Yoongi, already waiting for you in front of a desk. It was weird to see him in a suit; when you were around him he always wore dark clothes but never a suit. You thought it was for special occasion like his weeding with Hobi or your funeral. Wait, were you dead?
“Hello Y/N, glad to see you awake. Come join me?”
“Sure!” You smiled and sat in front of him. “Soooo… Grim Reaper?”
“I’m still angry that you didn’t listen to me when I gave you a warning.”
“To my defense” you pouted “It was seven in the morning and I was running on two hours of sleep.”
The man laughed and you still wondered where you could be. He took a glass of soju and sighed, explaining that you were between the realms; not quite dead, not quite alive, just in between. Oh, true; you were stabbed. Yoongi chuckled, explained that Chan took care of Hikari and she was gone for good but it almost coasted your life. His smile turned a little sad as he explained that you were in a coma; the stab was deep and you lost a lot of blood. You learnt that Jeongin refused to leave your side because he felt responsible for what happened to you while the other took turn to keep an eye on the twins. They didn’t tell them exactly what happened; they just knew that you were fighting to come back to them.
“What about Chan? Is he okay?”
Yoongi cleared his throat; Chan wasn’t really copying well; he was working nonstop and Minho had to drag him to your house. Felix held him, explaining that he could cry when he was around them because they cried too and they missed you. The king felt embarrassed because he cried to sleep that night, surrounded by your twins. You remembered that the demon had trouble sleeping even before but it got worse, he wasn’t really eat, relaying on snack and caffeine drinks and you understood that he was only a ghost of himself.
“I want to go back, Yoongi.”
“You’ll have to fight for this, Y/N.”
“I will fight whoever tries to stop me from getting back to my family. Bring them on, Yoongi. I’ll kick their ass and going back home.”
“I love this spirit.” He smiled. “Well good luck and I’ll see you soon, alive and well?”
“Bet on it.”
Yoongi smiled and left you alone. On earth, you were in the coma for a week already and for the others, Yoongi was simply away in a business trip. Only Jimin and Hoseok knew about is real job but they will keep his secret to the grave. He went straight to your house where he found Hyunjin painting while Felix was baking for Chan. Jennie helped him while Taehyung was reading in the corner. They picked the twins up from school for the week-end as Kyhung had the guard of your sons since you were out and he was still the legal parent beside you. The Grim Reaper sighed as he entered. Hyunjin noticed him and went straight for a hug and he couldn’t refuse his sad face as he picked him up, full of paint and all. Jennie waved while Taehyung nodded and Felix almost dropped the eggs.
“Uncle Yoongi!” He jumped out of his tiny stairs to hug the reaper’s leg.
“Hello Lixie. Making brownie again?” The child nodded and Yoongi gently ruffled his hair. “How was school?”
Felix smiled softly as he recalled his day; they got a new teacher, mister J., they made new friend called Wooyoung and they had to talk about their family. Hyunjin laughed, telling the reaper that they have a really huge family in their mom’s side and Yoongi could agree more. Then Felix wondered where the demons could feat in their family dynamic and Jennie asked how they feel about them. It was rather easy for the twins; Jeongin was their older brother, Seungmin felt like a cousin, Jisung seemed like the oldest brother while Changbin was their soft uncle, Minho was also an uncle and the twins didn’t even hesitate to say that Chan was their dad.
“Really?” Jennie asked with a smile and they nodded.
“We have our dad but Channie… Channie is different. He is important.” Hyunjin explained and Felix nodded. “He made us feel important.”
“Well, dad can be dad and Channie can be papa?” The youngest suggested.
“You’d have to ask your mother first but I’m sure she won’t mind.” Jennie ruffled their hair.
They both giggled then Hyunjin asked if Taehyung could bring them to you later. Taehyung put his book down and smiled before nodding; how could he say no to that? Yoongi smiled and maneuvered Hyunjin to put him on his back while Felix focused on his backing and Jennie kept an eye on him. Yoongi wondered where could be Chan but he remembered that the demons’ king had a lot of work since he killed his fiancée for your sake. Yoongi also knew that all of the possibility of alliance went to the window so Chan had to maintain order with his brothers while dealing with your absence. He seemed like an empty vessel in Earth but according to Seungmin, when he passed the border between Earth and Hell, he became a ruthless motherfucker who killed any demon who tried to attack his brothers or their realm. They wanted a real demon to rule, they got what they asked.
Once they reached your chamber, Yoongi put Hyunjin down while Taehyung did the same with Felix. Jeongin was asleep beside you. Damn, he looked bad; his hairs were a mess, his skin was dangerously pale and the dark circle under his eyes told everyone how shitty is sleep was. Jennie sighed; she knew that the boy didn’t have changed in a while. Taehyung gently touched his head and Jeongin jolted awake, looking a little disoriented as if he was expecting someone else, probably you.
“Jeongin” Jennie smiled softly. “Go home. You need to sleep in a bed and shower.”
“I, I can’t! What if she wakes up?”
“You look like death” Hyunjin commented quietly then he smiled, showing his missing tooth. “I’ve an idea.”
“Tell me?” the demon rubbed his face and Felix hugged him.
“We stay here until it’s time to go and you’re coming with us.” The youngest said. “You really need a shower.”
Jeongin seemed conflicted but the twins won’t let go as he was now their older brother, it was their mission to protect him. Hyunjin played a wild card; you wouldn’t like seeing the youngest demon so miserable for your sake so he had to go home, take a shower and rest. And, if you awoke in the night, you wouldn’t be sad or alone; you would be glad that everyone is safe at home and resting. it would also mean that you could rest a little more and go home faster. Taehyung patted his head, a proud smile on his face and Felix added that he missed having him around. Yoongi knew they win; the demon nodded before hugging them because he missed them too, deep down afraid that they would hate him because of your state. None held him responsible for it; it wasn’t his fault and you would probably flick him if you knew what he was thinking. When they left, Jeongin was back in his kid form, holding hands with the twins. And, if the next morning Yoongi found them cuddling Chan in your bed, it was between the reaper and whatever divinity was out there. They missed their demon.
***
“Why do you want to go back?”
You sighed, panting a little as you were walking between corridors for hours now. You saw a lot of people who asked the same damn question every time and it started to get on your nerves. Look, it was a long…Week? You didn’t know for how long you were walking but it started to be long and you only wanted to go back to your family.
“I didn’t change my mind. I want to go back because I don’t want my sons to be alone, I don’t want to let every of my friends down. I want to stay with the people I love.”
“Even the demons?”
“Yes.”
“They’re pure evil, how could you?”
You frowned and sighed. “They aren’t, at least, not mine. I can’t say for all the demons but these six demons? I love them and I miss them. I have none there so I ask you to let me go back. Please.”
“How could you?”
“I love them for different reasons. You want me to list them?”
The voice seemed amused by your answer and told you to go for it so you did. Let’s start with Jeongin; you loved him like he was yours. He was this adorable child, curious and smart and he would do anything for his brothers, demonic or not. If Felix was the sun and Hyunjin the moon, Jeongin was obviously your little star. You loved having him around and he loved being around, you loved the fact that he sang every morning to his brothers to wake them up.
Seungmin, Seungmin felt like the calm before the storm as if you never knew what his next move would be. You loved his addiction to base-ball even if you still couldn’t understand the rules and he tried to teach you. You loved the fact that he acted as if he was older than everyone else but turned to a kid whenever Felix or Hyunjin asked him to play. You loved when he smiled because he had a pretty smile and you liked his pleased smile as you complimented him. Jisung reminded you of a lost kid from Peter Pan sometimes. He was energetic, loud and fun but, if you took your time to see, you could see a scared child who didn’t know what to do about himself. You loved his energy and the positive attitude he got whenever he got in trouble with Minho, his brothers or even you sometimes. You loved his weird addiction for cheesecake that he asks whenever he could, and how he scared you in your kitchen the first time he wanted to try to make on. Changbin, just like Jisung, was a loud and energetic but quiet it down once you needed to talk to someone about anything that was on your mind. He really was that strong teddy bear that could break you in a half if he wasn’t careful. You loved it, his carefulness around you or your children whenever he was staying in your home. Somehow, it made you felt at peace and really safe to have him around just like a big brother who could annoy you if he really wanted. You also loved how confident he was, how he was always in tune with himself. Minho, at first, was like a cold night in winter but as you learn to know him, he felt more like a cold breeze in summer. You loved how he hated humans and pretended to hate you and your kids while spoiling them with food like a mother hen, how he loved his brothers, how he loved Jisung and animals, especially cats. It always made you smile when he scolded you when you tried to help him whenever he was cooking in your kitchen. You loved that beside his cold persona, he was always ready to help. And, finally, Chan. How to explain that he was probably the love of your life beside your children? It was almost awkward of you wanted to tell the voices how much you just wanted to spend some time listening to him talk or just smile because his smiles were the brightest. How can you tell that you felt the safest between his arms? How could you tell them that he showed up when you needed him the most, how could you tell them that he saved your life by just being there? How could you tell that you were grateful to have met him? It felt unreal, even to your ears.
You gasped as you felt something touching your cheek; it felt like a hand but it wasn’t quite it. It was warm and welcoming as if you knew this hand since your birthday. Which, weird. You heard whispers and suddenly, a light in front of you. Oh shit, did you fail? Another whisper commanded you to follow and you had no choice to obey.
Then you opened your eyes and groaned. It wasn’t a blinding light that welcomed you in the living real but darkness and P.A.I.N.
So, you were alive? Good. Good. Now, how to call for help? It hurt so damn much and you need painkiller or you would probably die again and, yeah, not happening. A groan startled you and you whimpered but you quickly saw the familiar face of Changbin. He seemed worried for a second before his dragon eyes met yours.
“Fucking hell” He whispered. “Wait here. Oh shit, you can’t move. Uh, yeah, wait.” He ran out and even if your body felt like a truck drove on you, you can’t stop the smile forming on your lips because Changbin was really adorable. A minute later, he brought the whole nurses’ station with him and you had to pass a few exams, just to be sure but everything seemed fine and they retired a lot of machine of your body. “How are you feeling?”
“Awful but I will fell asleep soon. How long?”
“Two weeks and three days.”
“I’m sorry.”
“You’re injured, I can’t flick your head but the spirit is here.” You laughed but stopped quickly and groaned. “Welcome back, Y/N”
“Thank you. Good night, Binnie”
The very next day, you awoke with Jeongin cuddling your left side while Felix and Hyunjin cuddled your right side. Gently, you caressed Jeongin’s hair then kissed Felix forehead then caressed Hyunjin’s hair. Their reaction was immediate as they jolted in the bed.
“Ma!” the twins yelled before crying their souls out and you smiled at your babies.
“Shhh, I’m okay. It’s okay. Cry it out, boys.” You giggled and they hugged you. You turned your head to see Jeongin, sitting away with guilt all over his face. “Oh my boy. Come here.”
You made him lay down against your shoulder and he cried too, apologizing for something he had no control over. The four of you stayed like that for a while, all cuddling and warm. They seemed exhausted and you worried a little but held them three, sighing in relief; you were back home, back to them.
“What did I miss?”
Hyunjin started to talk about their stay in their dad’s house and, when he finished, you wanted to slap Kyhung. You quietly wondered how the demons didn’t pay him a visit yet but you knew that your sons were too polite to complain to their demons. You kissed his forehead gently, promising that you will try your best to not end up in a hospital bed anymore and the eldest twin nodded fiercely. He also told you that Kyung tried to patch things up with him because he was mean to you and didn’t have the chance to congrats him on his role. Felix laughed at that; apparently, Kyung asked when the representation was and he seemed insure as he told them that he couldn’t probably be here but will try his best and Hyunjin just shrugged, telling him that his uncles and Chan would be here.
“He was so mad, ma.” Your youngest chuckled. “We saw grandma Eun…”
You grimaced, this woman was a nightmare and if it were for you, you wished that your sons never saw her ever again. She was everything an old woman raised in a conservative mind would be and she hated that you often went against Kyung for your sons’ happiness. She once yelled at you because Felix was wearing his favorite skirt, a pink hoodie and yellow nail polish and you dragged her in the back of the house because your son didn’t need this kind of comments. She also hated that Hyunjin find peace in painting and drawing, judging that it was too feminine for her grandsons and refused to have faggots in her bloodline. You were raised to respect your elder and you had a really thick patience but this day, you snapped at her face. Since then, you never came back and took your sons with you because you refused to have her around your babies.
“It was awful. She yelled at me because I was wearing a skirt.”
“She tried to throw BbokAri and Jiniret.” Hyunjin supplied. “She said that we’re too old to have plushies.”
You shared a look with Jeongin and he got this kind of weird smile as if he was plotting something. Hm, maybe you shouldn’t know what happened in his mind at the moment. “I’m so sorry babies. Did dad do something?”
“No. We had to look in the trash to save them!” Felix frowned. “Uncle Jiminie washed them for us when he picked us up for the week end.”
Well, knowing Jimin, Kyung probably already got a piece of his mind and you were glad that he had your sons’ back. Jeongin kissed your cheek, telling you that his brothers were waiting for him and he had to go so he had to bring the twins home. You ruffled his hair, a small smile on your lips and asking to no do something that what you would do. The youngest demon winked and leaved the room, followed by your twins after a big hug and a kissed on their head. it was quiet again and you fell asleep in no time, wondering when you could be out.
You woke up after feeling a pair of soft lips on your forehead. Slowly blinking, your eyes adapting to the obscurity, you sighed in relief as you recognized Chan. You couldn’t stop your smile; you found him really cute with his black half hoodie, his black top and jean. He seemed really soft with his fluffy hair. Chan seemed rather relived to see you awake but he tensed as quickly and he hesitated, not knowing what you would do if he tried to hug you so he rubbed his neck awkwardly. Deciding to put him out of his misery, you smiled gently.
“Hello Channie.” You whispered.
“H-Hello!”
“You were all black for my funeral?” He glared at you and you giggled but your body quickly reminded you about the three broken ribs. “Sorry, too soon?”
“Don’t joke on that, Y/N” He sighed as he sat in the chair beside your bed. “Before anything, I’m sorry Y/N, for…everything. The last time we talk to each other, I was a real dick…”
You nodded, sighing softly as you stared at him. “I’m still upset with you, to be clear but I’m still wondering why you were this mad at me?”
“T-To be honest, I guess I was…jealous?” You blinked, a little surprised. Why would he be jealous? You had your theory but you didn’t dare to hope, just waiting for him to keep talking. “Because I like you?” He paled then you blinked; what? “Wait, it sounded like a question, it isn’t. I very much like you, Y/N.”
You were pretty sure you died right here and right now. There is no way, uh? I mean, how? Why? Mentally shaking head you decided to focus on something else.
“What about Hell?”
“I, uh, how to explain that… I kind of destroyed whoever tried to touch my realm and, thanks to you, I’m kind of being blessed at the moment?”
“Blessed? How so?”
Chan smiled sheepishly and you tilted you head; according to Changbin, the first demons were only angels who fall and were locked in hell to punish the soul of the damned. Once they fall, their wings were cut off. The others, born in hell were just trying to survive in a hostile environment, like Jeongin. So, you were still a little curious on his blessing but Chan was quick to explain as you saw two giants wings on his back. Let me tell you, you never let a louder gasp escape your mouth in your entire life. They were beautiful; blue black feathers that seemed so soft and you really wanted to touch them but you wondered if it was even allowed. Damn, your boys will flip!
“They’re gorgeous, Channie.” You whispered and he blushed so hard that you were worried for a second. “Can I touch?”
“I, uh, I…say please?” He giggled, still somehow embarrassed.
“Please, Chan. Can I touch your wings?”
He didn’t hesitate to extend his left wings toward you and you smiled at the demon before whipping your hand on your blanket; you didn’t want to make them dirty. You heard him snicker, shaking his head and you showed him your tongue then you gently touched his wings. You started with a light touch, still wondering if it was okay with him but Chan didn’t move his wing away so you touched a little more. It was a strange texture to be honest; not quite feathery, not quite metallic but it was warm and soft. You loved it.
“They’re so soft, Channie! This is so cool. I love them.”
“You do?” He questioned shyly and damn, you wanted to hug him so badly.
“Yes. They’re really like you.”
“Like me?”
“Yup” you nodded, still brushing the feathers. “Gorgeous, soft and warm, it sounds like you.”
“Did you plan to kill me softly or something like that?”
He put his head on your shoulder but his ears were still crimson and you cooed, totally amused and you caressed his hair. Then you complimented his new haircut and color because you can; he looked so damn good and he asked for a hug that obviously, you couldn’t decline. It was a challenge but you both managed to have him between your arms, his face hidden in your neck and you fell asleep just like that, in wrapped in each other warmth.
***
“Ma?”
“Yeah baby?”
“I’m scared.”
You put your needle down and looked at Hyunjin with a little concern. You were doing the last retouch for his costume as he asked for you to do it and you were glad to help. His dance teacher wondered if you could do it for his whole class and you accepted gladly. You left hospital a few weeks ago and the recital became your priority because kids were counting on you and you didn’t want to deceive them but it also meant that you put a stop on other project, like a date with Chan. He asked you the very next day you fell asleep with him in the hospital with a cute post-it on your night table and you accepted but every time something happened and you both decided to go after the recital.
“What for?”
“What if I’m not good enough?”
“Baby, I saw you dance. You’re talented and you worked hard. You got this.” You kissed his cheek. “You’re our little moon after all.”
“Do you think dad will come?”
“I hope so, baby.” He promised that he would try at least and you sincerely hoped that he did because you didn’t know what the demons would do if they see one of their little protégés crying. “You want a hug?”
“Please?” You hugged him and kissed his cheek. “I’m glad you’re our mom, ma.”
Now was not the right time to cry but you sobbed and held him a little tighter. He kissed your cheek and took a step back, gently touching your cheek. “I love you.”
“I love you too, Hyunjin. I’m so grateful to have you. Ready to shine?”
He nodded and you smiled before finishing your work in a minute. Once everything was ready, you spotted Chan with Felix getting ready to leave for the representation. You smiled at your youngest son and gave him a bear hug then kissed Chan’s cheek quickly before leaving with Hyunjin; he had to be in the studio thirty minutes before the beginning and if you didn’t leave now you would be late. The walk was fast and you played different game with your oldest twin, even repeating his dance in the middle of the road.
“There you are!”
“Where should I be, Jimin?”
“Sharing DNA with your boyfriend?”
“Oh my god, shut up.” You blushed. “He’s not my boyfriend.”
“Yet” Jennie smiled. “He confessed so, I see it as a win. Any new from Kyhung?”
“No. I really hope he comes, Hyunjin wants him to be there. It’s a huge deal for him.”
“Well, if he doesn't show up, he had it coming.” Taehyung shrugged.
You kept talking with your best friends in the parking lot as family and friends went inside to claim their chair. Jimin and his boyfriends, Jennie and Taehyung, Chan and his brothers were invited by Hyunjin but Yoongi couldn’t make it as he had another contract somewhere else. He promised that he would make it to the next recital while Hoseok promised to film everything and Hyunjin hugged them both, promising that he would do his best to make them proud. Yoongi ruffled his hair and told him that he was already proud and Hyunjin smiled so brightly.
As you were talking about work, you felt two arms your waist and a head on your shoulder. Spotting black curls you relaxed against Chan’s chest. Jimin sent you a knowing smirk while Jennie waved at the king. He wore another red suit with a black shirt that had three buttons off. Felix had a black velvet suit you mad for him with boots and a yellow pull, he went straight for a hug and kissed his uncle and aunt cheek. Then you heard more than see Hoseok laugh, surrounded by the five others demons and smiled at them before Jeongin hugged you. You kissed his forehead and invited your friends and family to enter. You noticed that they were all wearing suit, like fancy gangsters and you giggled because they really wore their best outfits for this representation.
You sat between Chan and Jeongin who had Felix on his lap and checked your phone to see if you got at least a text but no, Kyhung was in silent radio and you worried your oldest twin notice the empty chair beside Jeongin but you didn’t have to think about it as the light turned off and the show started. Just as promised, Hoseok had his somehow professional camera and recorded the whole representation. Everyone cheered loudly when your baby came on stage and you had this big smile on your face as he found your eyes in the crowd. Chan took your hand and gently squeezed it as you started to cry; your baby had grown so much and the pride you got seeing him dancing as it was his whole life was way too big. However, the disappointment in his sparkly brown eyes didn’t escape you and under your jacket, you checked your phone to see a text.
[Asshole]
Can’t make it. Sorry.
Tell Hyunjin that he did well for me.
[Me]
He won’t forget it
And no, I won’t tell him that.
Our son did fantastic and I’m pissed you missed his first representation.
[Asshole]
But I guess your boyfriend is here so it doesn’t matter.
[Me]
You’re an idiot if you ever think that Chan would miss it
And a bigger idiot if you think that Hyunjin won’t be disappointed that you didn’t show up
Because he still call you dad, he still love you
But you keep messing it up
You were fuming. “Y/N, darling. Breath for me.” Chan muttered close to your ear.
“He won’t come.” You grumbled back and the king sighed before kissing your hand.
“Too bad but don’t worry about him and enjoy our little moon. He’s doing so well. I’m proud of him!”
You nodded and focused on the representation when it was Hyunjin’s solo. You got so hipped up and cheering quite loudly but the demons and your friends were encouraging him like there is no tomorrow. Felix giggled as Jeongin cringed but they were as proud as you all were. When the final note could be heard, you all were on your feet for a standing ovation and you got so lost in your euphoria that you grabbed Chan by his shirt and kissed him. He froze for a second before he grabbed your face to kiss back.
“Finally!” You heard Jeongin cheering and you slowly backed off, a smile on your face. Chan mirrored it and kissed your nose, making you giggle.
“Hi.”
“Hi” you whispered back. “You’re a good kisser. Can we do it again?”
He groaned, a blush on his cheeks and you laughed as he hid his face in your shoulder. You involuntary made eye contact with Jimin who snorted, shaking his head and you discretely flipped him off. Felix called for you all because he wanted to see his brother and he already had his hand lied to Jeongin’s. The others followed suit and you chuckled before gently raising Chan’s head to see his beautiful face.
“Should I apologize for the surprise kiss? Not that I’m feeling sorry for it, to be honest. I wanted to do that since you showed up in my house with a bed hair and clothes way too big for you.”
“Oh my” he took a deep breath and kissed your forehead. “Don’t apologize for it.”
“Okay, I won’t. But, I was serious, can we do it again?”
There, you could tell the exact moment he got his confidence back as he smirked and he put his hands on your waist. “Say please.”
You rolled your eyes as you put your arms around his shoulder. “Please Channie, can you kiss me?” He laughed and kissed your nose, making you pout. “I hate you.”
“No you don’t beside, the instructions were unclear.” Oh, you loved his confidence on him.
“Fine, you asked for it.” You kissed him and he kissed back almost immediately. It felt good, really good; you never have this kind of kiss with Kyung or maybe in the very beginning of your relationship but never with his intensity. As you separated, because oxygen was a need and not optional, you spotted the love and fondness in his pretty eyes and kissed the corner of his mouth. “Little demon.”
“Your little demon” he corrected and your belly erupted in a whole colony of butterfly. “We should go back to the others or they’ll get weird idea.”
“Not really a chance” you answered, taking his hand to lead them to your friends and family.
“Why is that?”
“Well, Jimin, Hoseok, Jennie and Tae know that I’m asexual so, they’d probably think that we’re still kissing somewhere, which tempting but I got a little moon to congrats.” Chan stopped and you almost fell in his chest. You turned to him with a weird look but he seemed suddenly so upset. “Channie?”
“You’re asexual?”
Oh. Oh, was it something he couldn’t wrap his mind around? Fuck, you completely forgot to tell him before kissing him and you really hope it wasn’t a deal breaker because you didn’t know if you could handle rejection now that you felt his lips on yours. You cleared your throat, really uncertain and nodded. You braced yourself; three, two, one…
“Hell, Y/N, I’m sorry.” Welp, it hurt like a bitch and you let go of his hand. “I really was a dick, uh?” uh?
“W-what?”
“When Jin and you cuddled, I, I was really awful. I’m so sorry I—” What the fuck? What the actual fuck?! Is this man even real? “Oh shit! I made you cry. Come here.”
He hugged you and you cried in his shoulder. He kissed your forehead, still apologizing while you had a mental breakdown because he wasn’t sorry that you were asexual, he was sorry because he was mean without even knowing. How could heaven have let go of this angel?
“I’m sorry.” You muttered. “Please, forgive me.”
“Baby, what are you talking about? I should the one crying for your forgiveness.”
“I, I never told you and it was selfish because now you like me a-and, I could never give you what you will sooner or later want. You will leave me because I’m broken.”
“Okay, I’m gonna stop you right here. You aren’t broken.” He whipped your tears. “You’re the softest soul I’ve ever meet and I have seen a lot of them. Secondly, I’ve never given any shit about sexual intimacy. I love you, alright? All I want, is you being happy and safe and if I have my words to say, I’d rather have happy and safe between my arms. Understood?”
“B-but, I”
“No buts. I love you and I probably will for eternity.”
“I” you sighed “Can you promise me something?”
“I would burn the world down for you but go ahead.”
“If, if you ever want to… have sex with, anyone else. Can you tell me? I won’t be mad.”
“What the fuck? No. I mean, I will tell you if I want to have sex, of course but not with someone else, it only could be you and I have my right hand for it.” He showed you his hand and you chuckled before whipping your tears. “Come on now, baby. Let’s join the others.”
He took your hand and you blinked, still a little confused and you made two steps before calling his name. He immediately turned to you with a raised eyebrow and you smiled before holding him and deposing a quick peck.
“I love you too.”
You just witnessed the most adorable smile as his whole face lighted up and he dragged you close for a deep kiss. You heard his purr of pure happiness as he headed you back to the others who seemed really happy to see you two together. Without any surprise, Felix and Hyunjin were ecclesiastic as they spotted you both holding hands and sharing loving glance. You hugged them and congrats Hyunjin on his performance. He asked that now that you and Chan were in love if Chan could be his dad and you melted right in this spot as Chan picked him up, announcing that he can be his second dad that very much so loved you and your beautiful sons. Felix cheered and jumped on him, making the king laugh as he picked him as well and they both hugged him, totally relaxed as they rumbled something to him.
You were sure that life will be great with your lovely demon by your side and you couldn’t wait for your date. But, you quickly noted that Minho and Jisung were absent and made a mental note to thank them while also sent some flowers to Kyhung because you knew where the couple was going. Well, he had it coming.
