Work Text:

"I'm doomed.."

Serval made a most weird grimace, as if she'd eaten a lemon, or two even.

She was in the workshop, head plopped on the front desk while she's looking somewhere on the side at some plans about yet another unconventional machine she'd once thought of making, but never went through with the idea because of lacking motivation.

"Don't be dramatic." Pela sat beside her on a chair she'd dragged from the desk below the plans Serval stared at. The younger girl crossed her arms huffing almost annoyedly.

"But Pela," the rockstar took her head off the desk and looked wearily at the Intelligence officer "you don't understand, she kicked me, this time for good." Serval pulled out a deep loud sigh and put her head down again, closing her eyes from how entangled her situation is, once again.

Pela slapped a hand over Serval's back, making the latter to shriek.

"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" The rockstar looked at her baffled.

Pela closed her eyes, furrowing her brows to look stern "As i said, you're dramatic."

Another figure entered the workshop and stared dumbly at the two women who looked as if they were just barking at each other.

"Oh hey Seele, what brings you here?" Serval propped herself on her elbows, leaning against the desk while cupping her own face.

"I um, if it's not a good time i can come later?" She shifted a quick glance to Pela and looked back at Serval again.

"Nah don't worry about it." Serval reassured "We're always like that, right Pela?" She shot a smiley glare at the intelligence officer.

"Right." Pela simply nodded, but Serval most certainly knew that she didn't mean it.

"O-okay, then, i kinda broke a part of my scythe, think you can fix it Serval? I'd obviously compensate you for the trouble."

"Compensation, from you? Don't be kidding I'd never accept that." Serval waved off a refusing hand.

Pela shot a glare at Serval "See this is why you never get any money."

"Oh shut it," Serval looked back at the intelligence officer "besides, she is Bronya's girlfriend, the very same Bronya that i practically raised with Cocolia."

Pela shook her head "You're down bad, she kicked you and yet you'd still lick the floor for her if she told you to do so."

"HEY! I never said I'd lick the floor for her, hell no."

"Should i call the Supreme Guardian Cocolia then? So we may test that theory?"

Seele simply stared as the two women were completely absorbed by their arguing, until she cleared her throat loudly to stop them "Ahem..so, will you do it?"

"Oh, sorry, yes i will." Serval nodded.

"Thank you." Seele responded and propped the scythe against one of the walls "I will leave now." She pointed towards the door and waved off weirdly, then slipped out of the workshop.

Serval stood up to take the scythe, then put it on the desk in front of Pela "Look at this.." her eyes were practically shining at the weapon "It's so, beautiful, and sharp."

"And dangerous," Pela crossed her arms again "so don't point it carelessly towards me, it's not my time yet." She nervously stared at Serval play around with the scythe.

"Then i wouldn't just be kicked out," she put down Seele's scythe again "i wouldn't even have anyone to bicker with."

Serval leaned her back on the desk with a tired groan "Why is my fate so sad." She placed a hand over her chest while dramatically shaking her head.

"BECAUSE," Pela stood up, obviously having had enough from Serval's drama "because," she pointed a finger towards her and pushed it against the rockstar's chest "you chose to be with damn Cocolia of all people." Pela practically steamed with anger, and even as far as to call the Supreme Guardian by her name? Now that's new.

Then Pela pulled away and sat down again "I have a plan, but for it you'll need to listen and do as i say, is that clear?"

Serval raised an eyebrow at the shorter girl "Okay..?"

Pela cleared her throat and blurted out "You will serenade for Cocolia."

Serval's jaw dropped, she simply stared wordlessly into Pela's eyes, until the latter looked away, actually realising how weird her plan sounded out loud.

"Nevermind, scratch that. Forget i ever said anything." Pela shifted awkwardly and looked at the rockstar, whose eyes were shimmering dreamily..uh oh.

"THAT IS THE BEST IDEA YOU HAVE EVER HAD, YOU'RE A GENIUS PELA!" Serval grabbed the shorter girl by both arms and shook her excessively, in that moment Pela was sure that her brain may have accidentally turned upside down from the shaking.

After taking a moment to chase away the dizziness, the intelligence officer waved both hands in absolute refusal "No, no and NO, ARE YOU MAD WE CAN'T DO THAT IN FRONT- IN FRONT OF THE SUPREME GUARDIAN?!" She yelled out but her look became horrified as she saw that Serval was already grabbing the guitar to practice, it may be too late, rest in peace Pela.

The rockstar brought back the guitar and placed it with a thud on the front desk, in front of the intelligence officer who was looking at it in horror.

"Come on Pela, we've got to build some lyrics over here!" Serval was practically beaming with excitement, which scared the shorter girl even further, what would the Supreme Guardian do to her dear intelligence officer if she were to learn that Pela let the fly in Serval's mind..

---

It was somewhere in the middle of the night that Serval had decided for them to go through with their plan, because there's far less guards during the night shift.

Pela had dressed up with a hoodie and a black cap and even sunglasses regardless of the fact that it's LITERALLY snowing.

"Come on, we've gotta sneak in the speakers under her window." Serval shone brightly in her entire rockstar attire, and if Pela tried to avoid attention, then thanks to the blonde girl they will definitely be noticed.

Serval threw herself over the fence under Qlipoth Fort and stepped into the courtyard "Okay, now gently hand me the speakers one by one over the wall. Okay? We can do it!"

Pela had to get up on her toes as much as she could, due to how much shorter she is compared to the rockstar "Almost there, okay, okay," Serval took hold of the speaker and got it on her side "ha, we did it!"

Then they threw over the other speaker, while the guitar hung from Serval's back in its box "Come on, hand me the mic and bring yourself too." Serval curled her fingers repeatedly for Pela to give her the mic.

"Perfect." She spoke, putting both her hands over her own hips, proud of their little success, then looked confusedly at Pela who pretty much struggled with getting over the fence.

"Hold on." Serval ran over to the shorter girl and picked her up as if she were a kid, then placed her beside herself.

"We must be on the lookout for guards." Pela glanced from above her sunglasses to both their sides, thank god no one was nearby otherwise the judgement from the Supreme Guardian would feel like a good punishment compared to the embarrassment she'd experience if someone from the guards were to see them.

"Pfff we'll be fineee." Serval waved off a dismissive hand "Let's carry those under the window." she looked above herself and pointed at one certain window "As far as i know that one should be to Cocolia's room. Right?" She looked at Pela to earn a second opinion.

"Yes." The girl nodded.

"Okay, come on." They picked one speaker each and carried them as close as possible, until they were under and in front of the window at the same time.

Serval put down the speaker and looked around herself, that's when the realisation dawned in on Pela "Wait, where are we gonna plug them in?!" The intelligence officer asked in worry.

"And that's why I've got these little guys." Serval took out a small pair of pliers "Watch and learn Pela, i just need to remember where the cables went through."

Pela's first thought was: Don't do this at home.

Serval crouched down beside one of the walls, and swiped her fingers across the ground, close to the corner of the wall, until she tugged on something "Hah, i knew she never removed those, lazy Cocolia."

Why were cables there and why Serval knew of them? Well, to answer your question, long ago, she'd made sure to set up a back up cable, which never went through the rest of the electricity at Qlipoth Fort, and was connected to Serval's workshop instead. At the time, the rockstar said that it's safety cable; if something were to happen in Qlipoth Fort and there's a black out, they'd have that one cable which practically spreads through most of the Fort.

Serval scoffed "Never did i think I'd use this cable to connect speakers for a serenade, well, good thing that i did it otherwise our other option would've been either a portable battery which is also a lot of weight, or extender..a pretty long one too." She glanced up at Pela, and while the intelligence officer was, well, very intelligent; technology and wiring wasn't exactly her forte.

Then Serval cut off the cable, which in Pela's eyes seemed pretty dangerous, considering that electricity is still running through it.

"You should be careful, there must be a lot of voltage in that thing.." Pela looked concerned.

"Hm? No, are you mad, I'd never leave it like that, Lynxy is back in the workshop and she said she'll turn it on once i am done. So don't worry the cable is pretty safe right now." Serval made a thumbs up at Pela, and then shifted her focus on the speakers "Okay, now we will need to rewire this and turn it on without blowing it up."

She took a bigger pair of pliers and cut off both ends of the speakers' cables. Pela is beginning to seriously wonder, just how much tools did Serval take with herself..

After several minutes of Pela staring at the rockstar in which the latter connected the cables, Serval finally stood up and brushed both her hands against each other, admiring her handiwork with a smile.

"You see, that's a well done job." Serval said proudly while putting her hands over her own hips.

And if Pela were to be honest..the so well done job didn't look good, in fact the wires were just out like that, but then again she doesn't understand the stuff, so she just cleared her throat instead "Okay, what's next?"

Serval bent over to lower the sound on the speakers and took out her phone, then called her younger sister "Hey Lynxy, switch it on." Then she hung up, and the somewhat medium sized speakers lit up.

"Now we can only pray that when i connect the guitar, i wouldn't be electrocuted." Serval stuck out her tongue playfully at Pela, though she knew well that she wouldn't be electrocuted, after all she is Serval Landau, the fix it all.

She put down the guitar case while Pela stared at her, clearly concerned, god that woman is so reckless is what she thought and yet went along with the plan because if she didn't then Serval would still drag her, rather be out of her own volition than by force.

The rockstar plugged in both the mic and the guitar, and she handed the mic to Pela "Since neither of us was smart enough take the stand for the mic, you will have to hold it i am afraid."

Pela sighed in even greater frustration, by now, she must have broken at least what, 10? 15? Silvermane Guard laws. If someone besides the Supreme Guardian saw her doing this then she'd be the laugh of entire Belobog for MONTHS to follow.

Serval lightly bumped her fist against the girl's shoulder "Don't be so stiff, think of it as just another performance."

Pela glared at her, half in anger and half in fear, while Serval held the guitar in her hand, and bent down to put up the volume, turning it on pretty much the max. The intelligence officer heard the static dull noise from the speakers, until Serval abruptly ran the guitar pick through the strings with almost unseen aggression, and she was a rockstar mind you so the fact that she could be more aggressive than she already is..it's truly amazing.

Serval put up a smirk, while Pela looked around herself confused..she could've sworn that she'd heard the sound from somewhere else too.

"Oh yeah, by the way, i put up speakers outside the workshop on the second floor too. And they're the biggest ones i have." She whispered and grinned mischievously, meanwhile Pela looked silently at her, even more frightened than before.

Serval put on a few more loud notes, and nodded towards Pela to put the mic under her mouth then literally yelled on top of her lungs:

"COCOLIA YOU COWARD! SHOW YOUR FACE AND WATCH THIS SERENADE YOU BITCH!!" She cursed..she cursed at the Supreme Guardian, Pela's life and career and success is over, oh god..

The shorter girl hid further under her hood, she quite literally felt as if she were to almost faint while more music blasted through her ears and the speakers almost literally made the ground to tremble under her feet.

In Pela's mind she already imagined how she's being put in a coffin and is buried six feet under because the Supreme Guardian shot her right on the spot.

The Silvermane Guards at their post on the gate were alerted, but they just shrugged at each other, not entirely sure which sound to follow, so they split up.

"OOOHHHH~ COCOLIAAAAA MY BEAUTIFUL, MY ONLY ONE PLEEASEE TAKE ME BACKK~"

Pela looked even more embarrassed beside her, what is that broken song that she'd constructed even, the shorter girl now regrets not helping her write the lyrics..God she wishes to disappear, dissipate, get absorbed by a void, even a bullet from Cocolia's gun sounded better than this second hand embarrassment, what's worse is that the entirety of Belobog heard it too probably because of the speakers set at the workshop.

Bronya stared at Seele who was snuggling beside her on the bed "Butterfly..do you hear that music?"

Seele literally slipped out of the sheets with the most annoyed groan ever "How the fuck could i not.."

They both stood up and walked to the window, then Seele glanced down and pointed through the closed window "Hey isn't that Serval down there?" Seele turned towards Bronya, whose jaw had literally dropped to the floor.

---

The woman of the night finally showed up on the window with an elegant nightgown and opened it, slightly bending down "What is this preposterous behaviour?" Cocolia shook her head "LEAVE OR I'LL ORDER THE GUARDS TO ARREST YOU. NOW." she commanded as loudly as she could.

"And what if i say no, HMM?? I AM NOT MOVING FROM HERE 'TILL YOU TAKE ME BACK OR AT LEAST EXPLAIN PRECISELY WHY YOU KICKED ME!!"

Pela looked down in absolute and complete embarrassment, at this point she feels that her soul may accidentally leave her body.

Cocolia rubbed at her temples, deciding on what to do until somewhere into her peripheral vision she saw the guards approaching the troublemakers.

"TAKE THEM! LOCK THEM UP." Cocolia frantically pointed a finger at Serval, while the latter dreamily stared up at her.

Serval is so, so, hopeless, because to her even this commanding Cocolia that literally ordered for her to be sent to jail is kinda..

She leaned a bit towards Pela, whispering quietly without taking her eyes off of the woman above "That's kinda hot of her." Serval admitted, and Pela looked entirely baffled at her.

"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN ITS HOT, WE'RE ABOUT TO BE LOCKED UP AND IT'S YOUR FAULT?!?"

Serval noted with a finger "We are about to be locked up by, her." She smirked while still gazing at Cocolia.

Meanwhile, both of them kinda forgot that the mic was still in front of them, so the entirety of Belobog heard their weird bickering, Cocolia and her daughter included.

---

Serval sat down in the jail cell, content with the fact that she'd forced Cocolia to listen to her, like, literally she had the biggest most satisfied smug face. While beside her sat Pela, literally pale and lifeless as if she'd died hours ago.

Serval put her hands behind her own head and leaned back on the wall "Ah, that felt great! Should we try it again sometime?"

She glanced at Pela, who had been too horrifically stunned to even respond.

Cocolia soon emerged from the jail corridors, now in her official attire unlike earlier, but Serval most certainly spotted the eyebags she had..she will apologise to her later for waking her up.

The rockstar leaned forward with a huge smirk on her face "Well hello there, you look more sexy than ever. Did you enjoy our little ruckus?"

The Supreme Guardian simply nodded towards one of the guards "Unlock the cell."

"But Madam Gua-"

"Do i need to repeat myself?" She stared icily at the guard, who immediately stood up in fright to unlock it.

"Damn, not even mad, are you? Boringgg.." Serval crossed her arms and didn't stand up until Cocolia decidedly walked towards her.

A clear, shattering the silence, slap was heard.

"Ow..abusive much." Serval looked at her as she brushed her own reddened cheek, but was clearly still amused.

"Stand up." Cocolia ordered with a particularly cold glare, one into which Serval submitted very quickly.

"Yes, Madam Guardian." she rolled her eyes and stood up with a quiet groan.

"You will walk back, into my room, and wait there." Cocolia glared at her sharply "And if you were to run i will not take you out of jail."

"Fineee, fineee!" Serval dragged her feet and walked away, until she'd disappeared from Cocolia's gaze, and when she did, the rockstar put up an even more amused, devious smirk.

Cocolia looked down at Pela who was guiltily awaiting her punishment, and her amethyst gaze softened up at Pela's sorry state "She dragged you into it, didn't she?"

"I am very sorry, Madam Guardian." Pela apologised quietly.

Cocolia shook her head and placed a firm, but gentle hand on Pela's shoulder "Don't worry kid, go home."

Pela looked up at her with hope "I won't do anything like that ever again." She promised "Thank you Madam Guardian." She added and walked out of the cell.

---

Cocolia stood in the corner of her room, arms crossed with her body leaning back at the wall. Meanwhile Serval sat on her bed, looking down like a sad puppy.

"Now, tell me, how the fuck will i tell the public tomorrow that you're innocent, hmm? The Silvermane Guards have already received several very displeased reports on the noise from the workshop."

After receiving no movement or answer from the rockstar, Cocolia stepped towards her, and gently took hold of her chin, making Serval to look up at her.

Then Cocolia bent over slightly and gave Serval a deep kiss, after which she pulled away and hovered close to her ear with a smirk, whispering the words:

"It was pretty reckless, but attractive."
