When it’s Kat’s turn driving, Dancing Queen is blasting and Zachary joins her in duet. The windows are rolled down, pounding the backseat with joyous wind. Dorian has been snatched along a riptide of fizzing delight.
When it’s Dorian’s turn, Zachary chooses the song, and it’s the perfect instrumental. As Dorian weaves the story, Kat lets her eyes blur, becoming one with red brake lights and the winking half-moon.
And as Zachary drives, Dorian becomes intimately familiar with the chemistry of watching a lover’s driving, while Kat flips through Zachary’s endless playlists of randomized musical scores and atmospheric game soundtracks.
