Work Text:
Something Joonghyuk has noticed recently is that everyone around him has been sneaking around. They'll whisper amongst themselves with evil grins and then disperse when he comes near. It's obvious what they're doing. They're planning something for his birthday. Even though he told them a million times he doesn't need anything for his birthday, they don't listen to him.
It was the day before his birthday. Joonghyuk was sitting in the campus courtyard. While he sat there looking at his phone someone crept up behind him. Before the person could spook him he turned his head around.
"What do you want, Kim Dokja?" he asked while glaring at him.
"Aw, you're no fun Joonghyuk-ah," he pouted. Dokja sat down next to him on the bench and tried to peek at Joonghyuk's phone. Before he could see what he was looking at he turned it off.
"What do you want?" Joonghyuk asked again but with more annoyance.
"Jeez, I was just wondering if you're free tomorrow," Dokja said while fiddling with his jacket. Joonghyuk knew what he was doing. He was trying to get him out of the house so the rest of them could set up the party.
"No, I'm busy tomorrow. I'll be at home working on my essay for the professor," he lied. Joonghyuk already had the essay done, he just wanted to see how Dokja would react. He seemed surprised and started thinking hard about what to say.
"W-well you should hang out with me for a bit tomorrow! The essay can wait, right?" he asked nervously. Joonghyuk stayed silent for a bit before answering him.
"Fine," he curtly replied. Dokja seemed relieved. He quickly texted someone and then put his phone up before Joonghyuk could see who it was. He didn't seem to notice that Joonghyuk already knew about it and that he wasn't sneaky whatsoever. For a few more minutes they sat there chatting. Then Dokja's phone made a 'ding' sound.
"Oh, would you look at the time, I've gotta get going!" Dokja said as ran off. Joonghyuk saw Han Sooyoung hiding behind a pillar in the direction he ran off in. Dokja ran up to her and then they scurried off together.

The next morning when Joonghyuk woke up he could already smell the mess that would be their "surprise" party. As he got out of the shower his phone started vibrating. When he looked at who it was, he really wanted to press decline.
"Hey Joonghyuk-ah!" Dokja said through the phone.
"Get on with it," Joonghyuk replied as he set his phone down on his bedside table and pressed the speaker button.
"Did you forget? You're hanging out with me at my dorm for uh... a few hours," Dokja answered. It seemed there was someone next to him, telling him something. Before he could answer Dokja quickly blurted out, "Anyways, I'll see you later!" He then hung up. Joonghyuk let out a 'tsk' and continued getting dressed.
Before he left his house he called out to his sister.
"Mia make sure you don't let anyone in while I'm gone and I mean anyone!" he called out to her.
"Ok, oppa! Bye, love you!" she called back.
"Bye, I love you!" he yelled back and left, but not before locking the door. As he made his way to Dokja's dorm he had a bad feeling. He was already getting annoyed and he didn't even know what they were planning. He pulled up outside of the dorms and parked in the dorm parking lot.
Joonghyuk walked past all the different dorms. Sometimes he would hear people talking or doing other stuff. He arrived at Dokja's dorm and knocked on the door. There was no response so he tried knocking again, but before his hand could make contact the door opened.
"Hi, Joonghyuk-ah!" Dokja said while breathing heavily. It looked like he quickly tried to hide something before answering the door. "Come in!" he chuckled while opening the door wider.

After hanging out with Dokja for a few hours he suddenly looked at his phone and stood up.
"We should go to your house!" he said eagerly.
"And why is that? I'm fine with where I am right now," Joonghyuk replied. Once again he was teasing him, but he didn't know it.
"C'mon! Get up you basta- I mean please?" He said, looking at him with pleading eyes. It was a pathetic attempt at trying to persuade him. He only got up after a bit more pleading and begging. Maybe there was a bit of groveling, too.
While he was driving the car Kim Dokja seemed very excited and kept glancing over in Joonghyuk's direction. As Joonghyuk pulled up to his house he slammed on the brakes. He could not believe his eyes. In front of his house there were balloons, streamers, and other party decorations. It looked like they were also inside of his house.
The thing that pissed him off even more was that the whole thing was princess themed and everything was pink. Even the pony they had rented. Did they spray paint it?.... Everyone was waiting outside of his house excitedly smiling and waving at him. The veins on his hands bulged as he gripped the steering wheel harder. Kim Dokja could see how pissed he was and leaned closer to him.
"C'mon Joonghyuk-ah, what're you waiting for?" he asked while giving a shit-eating grin.
"I'm going to kill you all," he said angrily as glared at him. Dokja laughed nervously.
"If you go along with it I'll..." he whispered something quietly into his ear after he leaned in closer.
"You better be prepared," he said as he furrowed his eyebrows. Dokja gulped. He might have to invest in a wheelchair soon. Joonghyuk pulled into the driveway and mentally prepared himself. If he didn't do it now, he might accidentally end up throttling someone. As he stepped out of the car and slammed the door Sooyoung came running up to him.
"There's the party princess!" she laughed as she placed a cheap plastic tiara on his head. In his mind he kept repeating what Dokja had told him earlier. It was all for 'that.' On a round table with a bright pink tablecloth there sat a framed picture of him. It was edited to make it look like he was wearing lipstick and a tiara. There was also a shitty filter on it.
Joonghyuk had an inkling as to how and where they got the original picture. He glanced towards Dokja and the man avoided his eyes. Han Sooyoung and Kim Dokja dragged him inside the house with the rest of the assholes following closely behind. As they sat him down at his table he looked around his house. It was also decorated...
There was confetti all over the floor and balloons everywhere. Along with some streamers and a banner that said ‘Happy Birthday!’ Mia walked up to him.
"Happy birthday oppa and before you say anything I didn't open the door for them, they came in through the window," she stated. Then she ran off to the kitchen to see what bullshit they were up to in there. Next year he'll make sure to lock all the windows, too. Joonghyuk looked over to the woman at the other end of the table.
"I thought you were better than this," he told her.
"I had no hand in planning this. I only came because I was invited," Lee Seolhwa answered.
They sat in silence for a bit before the rest of the group came out of the kitchen singing 'Happy Birthday.' They were all out of sync and off-key. Heewon had her phone out and was recording the whole thing. Namwoon and Jihye were holding a double tier cake. The frosting was, you guessed it, pink.
There were two candles in the shape of numbers. For some reason they said 73... Sooyoung was trying her best to hold in her laughter while aggressively grabbing Dokja's arm. Sangah was watching everything unfold while sitting next to Seolhwa. Hyunsung was walking with Jihye and Namwoon, making sure they didn't drop the cake.
After they all finished singing the two sat the cake on the table.
"Happy birthday master!" Jihye exclaimed while being seemingly oblivious to his anger. Whether it was purposely or accidental, we'll never know... Namwoon, being the idiot he is, tried to shove his face into the cake, but the man didn't move. Joonghyuk gave him a deadly side eye and he acted as if it wasn't him.

After all of them ate a slice of cake, minus Yoo Joonghyuk of course, they made him open ridiculous gifts. Let's just say that he won't be wearing the princess dress that Han Sooyoung gifted him anytime soon. Then, after all of that, they went outside.
"Meet your pony Joonghyuk-ssi. Her name is Miss Sparkle Sugar-Pants," Sangah announced to him. A smile crept up on her face but she hid it behind her hand. The horse was spray painted(?) pink and had her mane in braids. Jihye patted the ponies head and scratched under her chin. Hyunsung was also gently petting the horse.
She was quite small. The horse was just big enough for maybe Yoosung to ride it.
"You should ride it," Heewon suggested as she pulled her phone out to record.
"I will not be riding her, she'd die," he grunted. She pretended to wipe a tear and put her phone away.
"You should at least crouch down and pet her," Dokja chimed in. Joonghyuk glared at him. Kim Dokja sighed and started mumbling, "Fine... I guess I'll just have to go back on my promise." Joonghyuk heavily sighed internally and crouched down. He was now eye level with the pony and everyone was watching. Probably including the neighbors as well.
He looked the horse in the eyes and it seemed to have no thoughts behind its eyes whatsoever. Reluctantly, he placed his hand on her head and rubbed it a bit. There were a few flashes and before he looked up everyone quickly hid their phones. When he looked at his palm it had pink all over it. Joonghyuk sighed. They spent a few more hours fucking with the birthday boy before deciding to head home.

"Alright see ya princess and his loyal and very ugly stable boy!" Sooyoung cackled. She had a very busy night ahead of her. That night included framing a picture with one very angry man and one very stupid horse.
"See you tomorrow master and ahjussi!" Jihye yelled from the back of Heewon's car. Namwoon reached his hand out of her window and started waving, too. All of a sudden they started pushing and shoving one another.
Mia called out to them from next to Heewon's car, "Bye oppa, bye ahjussi!" She was to spend the night at her friend's house since Joonghyuk didn't want to have her hear them later.
Before they could all finish their goodbyes Joonghyuk stomped over to Kim Dokja and threw him over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Dokja started kicking and thrashing as he was taken inside. The door slammed behind them.
"What's going on?" Hyunsung questioned.
Heewon looked away, "Uhh, it's best you don't know..." The man put two and two together and cleared his throat before going silent. Meanwhile the white haired teen behind them was still oblivious to their whole entire relationship as he believed that there was no way Yoo Joonghyuk would ever date Kim Dokja. Impossible!.... right?
"Ugh, bastards. They're such show-offs," the woman with the black bob complained as she walked to her car with Sangah and Seolhwa in tow. She’d much rather take them than some rowdy kids. Sangah simply laughed and said goodbye to the others with Seolhwa.

The next morning Kim Dokja cried in pain as he was forced to help pick up the mess that was made during the party yesterday with Joonghyuk.
