Hero’s dungeon— 4:38AM

It had been hours of solitude, stuck in a stuffy room with nothing but a chair and table connected to handcuffs. The villain sat there, thoughts racing through their mind.

‘‘How could I have let this happen? Everything was going my way until that brat sidekick fucked it up for m-’’

‘There you are. How ya doing?’

The hero walked in with that shitty stride, and that shitty grin. The sidekick was there too.

The villain grumbled some snide remark.

‘Don’t worry, I didn’t really care anyways.’ Hero remarked as they pulled a chair out seemingly out of nowhere. The sidekick stood in the corner.

‘Well? What do you want from me? Information? Syndicate locations? What do you and your little sidekick want?’ The villain lazily spoke.

‘Oh we’re not that dumb. Do you think we really don’t know all that? No, we're here for something much more important.’ The hero laughed.

The sidekicks eyes opened wide. ‘They’re not supposed to know that hero.’

‘Oh?’ The villain had to admit, that was a little worrying.

‘Some questionnaires. About your psychological well being and all that.’ The hero waved a few sheets of paper in the air.

‘Why would you want to know about my well being?’

‘Just your psychology. Trust me, I couldn’t give less of a shit about your well being.’ The hero dropped the phony smile.

‘Okay well give me a second to think about it… if I don’t answer I’ll probably die. If I answer, I’ll still probably be killed.’

‘Exactly. I'll start now.

‘On a scale of one to ten, how happy are you feeling right now?’

‘Are you fucking serious’

The hero grinned. ‘No actually I’m fucking your mum.’

The villains demeanour immodestly dropped at the mention of her. ‘0’

‘Awh. So sad. Anyways, at what age did you start showing psychopathic tendencies?’

The villain rolled their eyes. This ‘psychology questionnaire’ was going to take a long time.

Hero’s dungeon—6:09AM

By this time everyone had grown irritable and the looseness and banter had disappeared.

‘Alright, last question, otherwise I'll shoot myself before you can shoot me.’ The villain stated.

‘You’re in no position to be making demands. You’re lucky this is the last question.’ The hero looked down at the table.

‘Fucking finally’ the sidekick said under their breath.

The hero looked up.

‘Tell me, do you enjoy hurting people?’

‘I can’t believe this.’ The villain furrowed his brow.

‘Do you enjoy killing?’ The hero raised their voice.

‘I’ll kill you.’

‘What? Like you did OUR mother?’

The silence struck the room like lightning.

The sidekick tried to move to the hero’s side but was pushed back.

‘Answer me Cleo. I want you to look me in the eyes and tell me why.’

‘You don’t understand.’

‘ I understand EVERYTHING. I HAD TO- you, you ruined my life.’

‘I DID WHAT I HAD TO DO!’ The villain’s handcuffs shook as they stood up.

‘NO!’ The hero wiped a tear from their eye. ‘YOU DID WHAT BENEFITED YOU! YOU DID WHAT YOU DID BECAUSE YOU WERE SELFISH!’

The villain quietly sat back down.

‘You don’t understand.’

The hero turned to the door. ‘I can’t fucking believe you.’ The door opened and they walked out.

The sidekick quickly looked back and forth before quickly scrambling to the hero’s footsteps.

The villain’s whole body slowly started quivering in unison with their sobs.
‘I’m sorry Lily. I’m sorry’
