"Oh Kenji-kun!" The young ginger boy calls out to his freckled blonde classmate.
"I've been meaning to ask you this but I never got the chance to." Tanizaki picks up an old grey flip phone which could be found on the desk the young blonde works on. "Why do you even keep this? It's broken beyond repair and it's not like you can use it anyway so why not just throw it away?" He places the phone on the table again and sighs.
"Why don't I throw the phone away?" The blonde boy just smiles. "Let's just say it was a gift from an old friend."
18th September 2011
The Miyazawa family's garden was quite popular around Japan due to its size, beauty and history. It was locatated in the heart of Yokohama and people from all around the country would come to visit the garden and interview the family about their work.
One day, a very well-known journalist known by Chuuya came all the way from Tokyo to interview Mrs. and Mr. Miyazawa about the garden on live international television meaning they couldn't embarrass themselves.
"Well then.." The ginger journalist began to speak. "Are you ready to start the int- KYOUKA!" A girl who seemed to be about 9 years old broke into the studio they were hosting the interview in and started clinging onto Chuuya who sighs. "I'm sorry for the slight interruption...this always happens before the interview begins..you see this my younger sister Kyouka, she's obsessed with crashing into the studio.."
Mrs.Miyazawa's shocked but tries to keep her calm and elegant demeanour. "Your younger sister?" She asks seeming quite confused. "You barely look anything like each other! I never would I have thought- Sorry if I'm being rude I'm just quite surprised."
Chuuya pats his younger sister on the head and smiles at Mrs.Miyazawa's statement. "Well technically we're not biologically related you see-" He looks down at Kyouka. "It's best if I don't talk about things like this in front of her.." The smile on his face dissappears.
Mrs.Miyazawa nods but the curiosity is killing her. "How old is she? She seems quite young." She asks him, trying to change the subject as quickly as possible. In which the journalist replies that's she's nine which coincidently is the same age as her son, Kenji.
"It's best I get her out so we can start the interview as soon as possible you know?" The journalist stands up to push the young girl out of the studio. He then sits back in his seat. "It's time to actually start the interview don't you think? But if you want, I'm free for the rest of the day surprisingly so we can have a little chat while my sister and your son can get to know each other. She struggles a lot with making friends so this can be a helpful experience for her." He suggests as he pulls out a paper filled front to back with questions asked by the public.
After an hour and a half the camera cut and it was finally over.
Chuuya opened a brown leather suitcase which was next to him, took out a folder and stored the paper filled with questions in there. He exhales taking a glance and the folder before putting it back in the suitcase. "People are really obsessed with your garden aren't they...honestly I hate to say this but.." He turns to look at Mrs. and Mr. Miyazawa. "I don't really get the appeal. Even people from out of Japan are starting to notice it, like my brother's co-workers back in France, they got him interested and it's the entire reason we're here now."
Mrs and Mr. Miyazawa are quite offended but try not to say anything to not ruin their reputation. You see Chuuya was incredibly famous among younger viewers but his fame is slowly creeping into the older generation as well, even if that wasn't the case, it wouldn't change the fact that the camera was still in front of them. Of course it supposedly cut but who knows if he made a mistake and they're still live? Their reputation came first, everything else didn't matter to them.
"Say then..." The journalist stands up. "Should we chat a little at your house? We can't really chat here since the studio's going to be used for other things but I did promise chat didn't I?"
"Well that's a fantastic idea!" Mr. Miyazawa spoke up. "If you want I can pick up Kenji from my brother so he can meet your little sister like you said before!" He sounds extremely enthusiastic.
"Yes, you could do that." Chuuya tried to force a grin on his face but he's sick of these people. He regrets even asking them for a chat.
After arriving at the Miyazawas' house, Chuuya introduces his younger dark haired sister to a freckled young blonde boy who seems over the moon to meet her. He extends a hands to her. "Hi my name is Kenji!! What your name??" He introduces himself, particularly excited to befriend the girl while his parents and her brother chat over tea but the girl keeps quiet.
"Oh did you not hear me my-" The boy was about to repeat but was interrupted by the girl. "no...i heard you kenji...my...my name is kyouka..." She attempts at introducing herself to Kenji but it came out as a whisper.
"Hmm?" The boy doesn't seem to catch what she said. "I didn't hear you!" The girl seems quite startled by the boy's energy yet she tries her very best so the boy could hear her.
"I'm...Kyouka...." She finally manages to get the boy to hear her.
"Kyouka..." He jumps to hug Kyouka who gets frightened by the sudden hug. "We're gonna be best friends! I promise!"
"Best friends..." Kyouka repeats quietly. "Yes..best friends.." She manages to crack a faint smile on her face.
