Chapter Text
It was a day like any other Iruma Suzuki, Age 14, was doing a delivery for his job on a fish boat. However, in actuality, this was not really his job but the job of the actual delivery man who was a single father. The man was applying for his dream job but without the proper preparation and the need to put food on the table for his family, he felt there was no hope. When Iruma discovered this he took it upon himself to do the man's job for him and allow the man to be able to get the job, though it did take a while for Iruma to convince him it wasn't a bother.
'Alright the delivery is done I've got time to spare.'Iruma thought as he finished making the delivery. He was about to head to the fish boat but then he heard the sound of someone crying. He followed the sound and there in the middle of the sidewalk, was a crying little girl. "Hey, what's wrong are you okay?"Iruma asked the little girl in a gentle voice. The little girl looked up at him and with tears still in her eyes sobbed out"I-I lost m-my mommy we were w-walking and then s-she wasn't there a-and now I can't f-find her"
Iruma looked around at the other people walking by they could clearly see the crying girl but ignored her One man even put on headphones and walked away. Iruma knew he wouldn't make it to the boat without being late if he helped the girl but seeing the girl's crying face feeling as if there was no hope of seeing her mother again solidified his choice. He bent down on one knee to be at eye level with her. "well how about I help you find your mommy? I'm sure if we look for her together we'll find her." The girl looked at him with wide teary eyes."R-Really you'll help me find my mommy" "Sure I know we'll find your mommy all you need to do is not lose hope can you do that?" Wiping away the tears the little girl looked at him with a shy expression "I'll try"
With that, they walked around looking for the girl's mother, with Iruma doing whatever he could to keep the girl's spirits high. Eventually, They found the girl's mother looking frantically for her daughter. "MOMMY!" the girl screamed to the top of her lungs, which gained the attention of the mother. when she spotted her daughter she rushed over to her and enveloped her in a protective hug. "Oh my baby, I was so worried I thought I had lost you forever!"The woman said to her daughter with tears of relief in her eyes.
The mother and daughter then thanked Iruma and then left with the little girl waving goodbye to Iruma while in her mother's arms. Iruma smiled and waved back at them 'Well I'm definitely gonna get in trouble with how late I was. Then again, seeing that little girl reunite with her mother makes it all worth it. With that, he made his way back to the boat but as he was going down a deserted street he bumped into a man who had a peculiar ring on his hand
The man was looking at him with a quizzical look, which made Iruma a bit nervous. "Um...Can I help you" He asked in a confused manner. For a while, the man said nothing then finally spoke "Answer me this I have seen what your life is like. You live with a couple of deadbeat parents who force you to work because they are simply too lazy, you have absolutely no friends or anyone who respects you, and most of all, no matter how many times you help others most of the time you are never recognized for it yet you still help people. Why is it that after all that you still desire to help people in need?"The man asked
They both stood in silence for some time, for the longest time Iruma has never said no to anyone. However, over time it became less and less like an obligation or him being a pushover and more of just helping people because they'd need it. Iruma had never once thought of the reason as to why he does this until he was asked that question. It took him a couple of minutes to think of an answer.
"You say you have seen what my life has been like so it's safe to say I've been through hell all my life but the thing is..." he started explaining more to himself, for he was just now realizing the reason for his unending willingness to help other, than to the man who was listening in silence. "I don't wish for people to feel the way I have grown used to, to feel sadness, to feel loneliness, to feel scared, to feel...despair.I don't wish for anyone to feel that way. That's why I help people so that they can have the hope of having a better life. If it means that others can have hope in their hearts I'll take on all their despair." Iruma said with a determination he never knew he had.
The man inspected Iruma for any faults in his words but found none. He then smiled looking at Iruma and hearing his speech realized something. "So... this is why you wanted me to give it to him Zi-O. You're right he's perfect." the man said as he dug something out of his pocket. "I suppose I never introduced myself my name is Haruto Souma. You have felt despair but you didn't fall to it just as I didn't and you have a good heart. So I find you worthy of being my successor." Haruto said. Iruma was understandably confused by that...successor? Haruto tossed what he was holding to Iruma who caught it. it was an odd device with the year 2012 on the bottom and a weird symbol on it. he then cranks the device and presses the button on the top
~WIZARD~
Iruma had no time to react to the voice the device said as it began to glow in blinding light. Iruma shields his eyes from the bright light and once it dies down he sees what is now in his hand. It is an odd belt with a hand at the front. Not only that but in his other hand were three rings, one with the same hand as the belt, the second one has the face of the device from before, and lastly, the final one has the image of a western dragon going through some kind of portal.
Iruma wondered what they were but when he looked up Haruto was no longer there. He looked around to find him but then noticed it was getting late. which means... "Oh Crap, I'm gonna be late!" Iruma shouted. Iruma raced off to the boat knowing he'll be in big trouble. While running back he didn't notice Haruto eyeing from atop a nearby building with a smile on his face. "Take care Iruma Suzuki for you will be the one to bring hope to the the demon realm as the next Wizard."
