This is a work that I have been thinking about posting for a while. I don't know if it's really any good, but it's definitely my favorite novel I have written so far. It is based in Thailand, similar to many of the BLs I like to watch in my free time. The novel isn't fully finished yet, but it's a work in progress that I hope everyone who reads will love. So far, there are about 15 chapters fully completed that will be posted weekly. If there are a lot of people who happen to like the story, I'll try and update it more frequently. As a slight warning, there are some heavier topics in this novel (such as the death of parents, kidnapping, fights between Mafia, etc.). If that isn't for you, I would recommend not reading this. Anyway, this chapter is just an introduction to the actual story along with the current main character list. I hope you all enjoy this story!!!
Bas is a second-year business student at the local University. He works two jobs and still maintains his position as the best student in his class, which is tough, but he does it so that his siblings can live happy and carefree lives. After the tragic and sudden deaths of his parents last year, Bas was left with the guardianship of his three younger siblings: 15-year-old brother Bar and 7-year-old twins Bam (brother) and Bay (sister). While it had been rough and they’d nearly been homeless and separated multiple times, they had made it through the rough patch and were able to stay together. While Bas was the main breadwinner for the family, Bar helped out a lot as well and even got a part-time job after many arguments with Bas. Bas made sure that even with the job, Bar didn’t over-work himself and still had time to enjoy his life and be a teenager, even though that wasn’t something Bas could do anymore. Bam and Bay are still young, and even though they understand death and what happened to their parents, there are many days they beg for their parents. Despite this, they are happy children. Bas tries his best to give them a good life, even if he has to give up a lot of his own life in order to give them the best.
However, one night while Bas is working at his second job at the local pub, he has to break up a fight. In doing so, he angers one of the two men who ends up following Bas home, beating him up and threatening Bas’s family if Bas cannot get the man 1 million USD by the end of the week. Bas is immediately panicked as the man says he’ll be watching Bas and one wrong move or attempt to call the police; he will hurt Bas’s siblings. Bas doesn’t know how he can possibly get that much money in a week until he remembers the local Mafia.
Jay is the head of the local Mafia. He has four kids; his two adopted kids Salmon, 15, and Song, 12, and his two biological children Sam, 4, and Som, 3. He had been looking for a caretaker/bodyguard for them since they kept chasing away the others he had chosen (around 10 in the past year) with different reasons every time as to why they disliked them. As if fate brought them together in their moments of need, Bas comes to Jay asking for assistance. Jay is intrigued by the cute boy that he had never seen before. He listens to Bas’s story and quickly devises a plan. He tells Bas that he will help him with the condition that Bas comes and works for him to pay off the debt. Bas, desperate, agrees. Jay pays the man that threatens Bas and then tells his men to “take care of him” for doing something like that on his turf. Jay then tells Bas that he must move, with his siblings, to Jay’s house for the hob. Bas, not wanting to involve his siblings in this whole mess anymore refuses, saying he doesn't want to sell his home or make his siblings move because he couldn’t handle things himself.
This only further intrigues Jay, who wants to get to know more about the mystery that is Bas, but Jay pushes this intrigue to the side for now to tell Bas that he will keep the house for him, reminding Bas that he owes Jay and must do as he says to pay back the money. This angers Bar, who had been listening to the conversation, Bar yells at Jay saying his brother is not something that Jay owns, and he doesn’t have to listen to the likes of some rich bastard like Jay. They will figure out a way to pay Jay back without getting involved with him. Bas immediately goes to calm Bar down, whispering that technically, because of the debt, Jay does kind of own him. Then Jay says that Bas and his siblings either go willingly or Jay will have to use force. This only further riles Bar up, Bas calming him again before reluctantly agreeing, so long as the house remains in Bas’s name, and they can visit the house whenever they want. Jay agrees and Bas and his siblings pack before going with Jay to his house.
From the start, Bas and the kids have a wonderful relationship, becoming almost like a second parent to all the younger kids. Even so, he keeps his distance from Jay, knowing that involving himself with the gorgeous man would only end poorly for himself and his siblings. Despite Bas's obvious dismissals, Jay continues to pursue him and try and date him, seeing just how wonderful a person Bas is and how he treats Jay's kids as if they were his own. As the debt is nearly paid off, Jay begins to panic and further his advances. Finally, during one drunken night, he manages to get Bas into a relationship with him.
They are both very happy, all the kids are happy as well, however, their happiness is short lived when the 4 youngest are kidnapped by a rival Mafia. This puts a strain on not only their relationship, but also the brand-new relationship between Bar and Salmon.
The big question really is, can a relationship between a normal person and a Mafia King really work out in the end?
