Work Text:
Everything seemed fine when Eijirou got home after work. He had arrived before Katsuki, but that wasn’t strange since he had an early patrol. He walked in, Akio was in the living room. Their twins were now sixteen. It still surprised him just how grown up they were now. Not the small babies they had once brought home.
“Hey, Papa!” Akio greeted him in a hushed manner, a bit too excited compared to his usual mumbled greeting.
“Hey, Akio, what’s up?” Eijirou asked as he let his things drop to the front door. Making a mental note to move them before Katsuki came home.
“I need to tell you something, but you can’t react right away,” Akio told him, his eyes on the hallway.
“What is going on?” Eijirou asked, suddenly worried. “Where’s your sister?”
“Shh!” Akio told him. “Katsumi in her room… with a boy.” Akio snickered.
“A boy?” Eijirou’s eyes went wide.
“I didn’t say anything,” Akio told Eijirou. “I said I was going to cover for her but…”
“But what?” Eijirou asked. He knew how close his twins were, they were partners in crime in everything they did. So why wasn’t Akio helping his sister with this?
“If Dad finds out, we are all dead,” Akio told him, his face going serious suddenly.
That was enough for Eijirou to worry. What type of boy did Katsumi have in her room that Katsuki would completely hate enough that Akio would betray her? “I’ll be right back,” Eijirou said as he started walking down the hallway. Akio tried to follow, but Eijirou gave him a look to stay.
Akio stayed back, hands raised as if saying fine, but a sharp tooth grin seemed to be waiting for the drama to start. That could not be good. Eijirou walked down the hallway toward Katsumi’s room. Taking a deep breath as he knocked on the door. “Hey, Pebble, I was thinking of ordering some food,” Eijirou said, the only excuse he could think of for coming to look for her.
He didn’t hear a reply, but he did hear hushed voices and shuffling coming from inside. This was definitely not good. Who could she have in there with her? Was a criminal? Some gangster? A villain? His mind raised, every horrible scenario possible rushing forward. He had to know who was in there.
He was considering breaking the door down when it was suddenly yanked open by Katsumi. “Hey, Papa,” she said with a smile that was a bit too nervous. “I didn’t know you and Daddy were back home already.” She said as she crossed her arms in front of her chest. Eijirou didn’t miss the way she seemed to be trying to cover the entrance as much as possible.
“Your dad isn’t home yet, I got back first,” Eijirou told her. He noticed that her blond hair was still styled down, and she was wearing her contacts. Katsumi usually put her hair up as soon as she got through the front door, rushing to the bathroom to take off her contact lenses in favor of her metal pink frames.
“Oh, okay,” Katsumi told him, hesitating before adding. “When is he coming home?”
“Shouldn’t be long now,” Eijirou told her as he tried to look into her room. Her closet door was closed. She never closed her closet door. “Hey, baby girl,” Eijirou started, “is everything okay?”
“Yeah, yeah, of course, it is. Why wouldn’t it be?” Katsumi said, leaning against the door frame.
“You sure?”
“I’m very sure.”
Eijirou raised an eyebrow, considering his options before asking, “Is your friend staying over for dinner?”
He saw the way the color drained from Katsumi’s face, but even then, she didn’t budge. She was definitely Katsuki’s daughter. “What friend?”
“The one in your closet,” Eijirou told her.
Katsumi let out a forced laugh, “There is no one in m-”
A loud bang coming from the closet right on cue. “No one, huh?” Eijirou told her, pushing past her.
“Dad, I can explain,” Katsumi started.
“You’re not allowed to have people over without permission!” Eijirou started lecturing as he stood in front of the closet. “Now, are you going to tell me who’s in there, or am I going to find out on my own?”
“I-please don’t open that door,” Katsumi begged.
“You break the rules and now you want me to not see who you’re sneaking in?”
Katsumi opened her mouth and then closed it again with a groan. “Fine, fine. Don’t say I didn’t warn you,” Katsumi told him as she rubbed her hands on her face in frustration.
That didn’t help the dread in Eijirou’s stomach as he opened the closet door. He stopped short when he saw green hair and mismatched blue and green eyes.
“Hi, Mr. Kirishima,” Midoriya-Todoroki Kohaku said, his face a deep red.
Eijirou stared at him for a couple of seconds before closing the door. He turned to Katsumi with wide eyes. “Your dad is going to kill you.”
“I know,” Katsumi groaned, “I know.”
“Him? Really? There was no one else at school?” Eijirou asked her, running a hand through his hair. He had to get the kid out before Katsuki got home.
“We aren’t that serious!” Katsumi tried defending herself.
“What!” A muffled scream on the other side of the closet door exclaimed.
“He doesn’t seem to be on the same page about that,” Eijirou groaned.
“Let me get him out of here, please,” Katsumi asked him. “I will not bring him around anymore. Dad doesn’t need to know.”
“He’s going to know,” Eijirou told her. “If you keep dating him, he is going to know. If Izuku finds out before him… I don’t even want to know what he will do.”
“I’ll let him know, but not right now. Please, not right now,” Katsumi begged.
“Fine,” Eijirou told her. “We are not done talking about this, young lady. You’re going to be grounded for at least a month for sneaking a boy into your room.”
“Can I get him out of here now?” Katsumi begged.
“Okay, but take him through the b-”
“Ei, Gremlins, I’m home!”
Katsumi and Eijirou turned to look at each other with wide eyes full of panic. Katsuki was home.
*
Katsuki walked into their home, wondering if they should order in for the night. It was a Friday night, and he didn't have the energy to cook. He saw that Eijirou had left his stuff by the door. He shook his head, a small smile pulling at his lips. His husband was going to get it. "Ei, Gremlins, I'm home!" He called into the house. It was odd that Eijirou hadn't come to greet him at the door.
"Hey, Dad," Akio told him with a grim that spelled trouble. "I have a question for you."
"No, you can't use the car, you only have a learner's permit," Katsuki told him with an eye roll.
"Not that," Akio told him. "Actually, keep that in mind for later. What I actually wanted to ask you is, what would it take for me to be your favorite child?"
"Akio, you know I love you and your sister equally," Katsuki told him with an eye roll. "I could never love one of you more than the other."
"Mmm… we'll see about that," Akio mumbled under his breath.
"Where's your dad?" Katsuki asked.
"He's with Katsumi," Akio told him, taking out his phone.
Katsuki let out a hum, heading down the hallway to find his husband. It didn't feel like he was home until he got his welcome home kiss afterall. "Ei?" He called out as he made his way to Katsumi's room.
"Hey, Sweetheart," Eijirou greeted him as soon as he reached Katsumi's door. Kirishima stood in the doorway. Katsuki could see Katsumi standing awkwardly inside the room. "How was your day?" Eijirou asked as he leaned down and kissed Katsuki hello.
"It was fine," Katsuki told him. "What are you two doing?"
"Nothing much, just talking," Eijirou told him.
"Okay," Katsuki told him with a raised eyebrow, but he had no reason to doubt his husband. "I was thinking about ordering some food for us. What do you think?"
"How about we go talk about it in the living room?" Katsumi suggested.
“Sure,” Eijirou told them, grabbing Katsuki’s hand to pull him after him.
Katsuki pulled him back though, “Katsumi, are you coming?”
“I’ll be there in a bit,” Katsumi told him. She looked nervous, shuffling from one foot to another.
“Everything okay?” he asked her, worried that something had happened at school.
“Yeah, everything is-”
A sneeze.
He heard a sneeze coming from somewhere inside Katsumi’s room, and it hadn’t been her. “What the hell was that?” Katsuki asked, looking around the room. Did someone get into their house while they were out?
“I didn’t hear anything,” Katsumi told him too fast for it to be convincing.
Katsuki’s eyes narrowed, and he walked past her.
“Dad, let’s just go to the living room. I’m thinking burgers,” Katsumi tried to pull at Katsuki’s arm to make him turn around, but it didn’t work.
Katsuki walked towards the closet door, seeing Katsumi cover her eyes as he did so. He opened the door, just to find a scared kid he knew too well standing there. Midoriya-Todoroki Kohaku was in his daughter’s closet, looking up at him with fear in his eyes. Bakugou slammed the door shut.
“Eijirou,” Katsuki started slowly, “why is there a Midoriya-Todoroki here?”
“Katsuki, Sweetheart, maybe just let him leave?” Eijirou tried.
“Not until someone explains why he’s hiding in my little girl’s closet.”
“Dad,” Katsumi started, “he’s just here to hang out.”
“Did you know he was going to be here?” Katsuki asked Eijirou.
He saw the hesitation in his husband's face, but before he could call it out, he spotted Akio at the door. Phone recording everything. “Kirishima Akio, did you know about this?” Katsuki demanded to know.
“Yup,” Akio popped the p at the end of the word. “I knew that Sumi was dating Kohaku.”
Bakugou’s eyes went wide. “Dating?” he said quietly.
“For two weeks now,” Akio added with a nod.
“Sweetheart, please breathe,” Eijirou begged.
“I’m breathing,” Katsuki assured him. “Trying to figure out why my daughter would date a Midoriya-Todoroki!”
“Dad! I like him!” Katsumi exclaimed.
“You’re sixteen! You don’t know what you like!” Katsuki exclaimed.
“Didn’t you start liking Papa at sixteen?”Katsumi huffed.
“This is different!” Katsuki replied.
“W-well, at least I’m not flirting with Sero Asahi!” Katsumi said, glaring at her brother.
Katsuki and Eijirou turned to look at Akio whose smile had finally fallen from his face. “Not cool!” Akio exclaimed.
“That’s fine, we like Asahi,” Katsuki told Katsumi. “Now, Kohaku? I thought you had better taste!”
“He’s sweet!” Katsumi yelled.
“Why him?” Katsuki yelled right back.
“Can I come out now?” Kohaku mumbled from the closet.
“NO!” Every Kirishima in the room yelled.
“Dad, can’t you just let me date who I want?” Katsumi begged.
“You can date whoever you want! Except him!” Katsuki told her with growing frustration.
“Or a Monoma,” Eijirou mumbled.
“Or a Monoma,” Katsuki repeated.
“But Dad!” Katsumi whined.
“No, that’s not going to work this time!” Katsuki walked towards the bedroom door. “You aren’t going to ‘but dad’ your way out of this one!”
“Why is it such a bad idea for me to date him? Kohaku is nice! He likes me! He’s cute and smart!” Katsumi huffed.
“He isn’t good enough for you,” Katsuki told her. “No one is, honestly.”
“Dad, shouldn’t that be up to me to decide?” Katsumi asked, her eyes filling up with tears. Enough to make Katsuki pause.
“I’m sorry,” Katsuki said, walking towards his daughter and pulling her into a hug. “Please don’t cry, Sweetie.”
“Why don’t you trust me to make my own decisions?” she mumbled against him, a soft sob escaping as she wrapped her arms around him.
“Well, this got too real for me,” Akio said behind them. Katsuki turned to glare at him, and that was enough for Akio to leave.
“We love you, Katsumi,” Kirishima told her as he joined their hug.
“We- I forget you’re growing up,” Katsuki admitted with a sigh.
“I know what I’m doing,” Katsumi assured them. “Besides, you trained me. I can take him down if he hurts me. I know how to melt the body with my quirk too.”
“That’s my girl,” Katsuki chuckled, holding her a bit tighter.
“You would what!” Kohaku exclaimed from inside the closet.
Katsuki groaned.
“I’ll call his parents to come pick him up,” Kirishima told them as he pulled away. “Also, you’re grounded for sneaking your boyfriend in,” he added as he left the room.
“Papa!” Katsumi argued.
“Three weeks,” Katsuki told her.
“Dad!”
“You had to see this coming,” Katsuki told her with a shrug. “Also, he stays in the closet until one of his annoying ass dads comes and gets him.”
“Fine,” Katsumi told him.
“You are not going into the closet with him,” Katsuki told her with a smirk.
“I HATE IT HERE!”
“Love you too, Gremlin.”
