Mikage Reo hadn’t cared about his birthday in the past. His parents had always given him things he never really desired. The one thing he’d ever really wanted wasn’t a birthday gift anyway. This birthday was different though, because it would be the first one since Nagi Seishirou was his boyfriend. Reo’s whole life was so much better since he’d met the white haired boy that fateful day. It had started with being just teammates who had been aiming for winning the nationals. Then they had become friends and Reo had been so scared of losing Seishirou because this was his first genuine friendship. And eventually Seishirou had confessed to him two months ago and at that very moment Reo had been the happiest boy on earth because he‘d had a crush on the lazy genius in secret since he’d first seen him catching his phone with his foot.
Reo and Seishirou, mostly the purple haired boy though, had been making plans for today for the entire last week. They would go to an arcade hall first since Nagi should enjoy the day as much as Reo himself. Reo couldn’t have fun if Seishirou would get bored and he’d never been at an arcade hall before so he was curious about that place. After that they would go to Seishirou’s dorm, watching Jim Carrey movies, cuddling and just enjoy each other’s company. Reo could have organized so much more, of course, but he just wanted to have a normal birthday with his boyfriend. He didn’t need anything big and spectacular, he just needed Seishirou by his side.
He and his personal butler Ba-ya aka the only person who cared about him before he’d met Seishirou were on their way to pick up the white haired boy. Reo took his phone out of his pocket and sent his boyfriend a message: "Sei, we are almost there! I can’t wait to see you, baby!“ Reo was certain that he would have to give Seishirou a piggyback ride from his room to the limousine. The phone of the birthday boy was vibrating immediately, informing him that Seishirou was already waiting in front of the dorm building. "Oh really? I would have bet that you wanted a piggyback ride to the limousine, Sei“ was Reo’s answer. "I want that, but today is Reo’s birthday, so I’ll give you a piggyback ride later.“ Reo felt how the blood rushed through his veins, stopping at his cheeks. Seishirou always said this cute things to him when he least expected it.
When Reo and Ba-ya arrived at Seishirou’s place, he noticed that Seishirou was wearing a white hoodie and black trousers, everything was oversized as usual. Damn, Reo would have a difficult job to hold himself back in the arcade hall, because Seishirou looked way too hot in his oversized clothes and with his messy white hair. Seishirou opened the door to the limousine and took a seat next to the purple haired boy.
"Hey, baby.“ Reo said with a bright smile on his face.
"Hey, Reo! Happy birthday.“
"Thank you. Are you excited for the arcade hall?“
"Yeah because I’m going there with you, Reo.“
Reo knew that his face was turning red like a tomato right now, but he didn’t care. Seishirou should see the effect that his words had on him. "I think you forgot something, Sei.“
"Did I forget something important?“
Reo was laughing, then he moved closer to Seishirou without taking his gaze off of his boyfriend’s grey eyes and lightly touched his lips with his own. He spotted Seishirou blushing, before he closed his eyes. With every second their mouths weren’t separated, their kiss became more and more intense. Reo’s heart began to beat against his chest and it felt as though it could break out of it at any moment. Reo couldn’t tell how long they had stayed in this position, but he eventually broke away from Seishirou due to lack of air.
"We’re not even at the arcade hall yet and it’s already the best birthday I’ve ever had.“
"That’s good, you should always be happy, Reo.“
"No, we should always be happy, Sei.“
There were so many people at the arcade hall that Reo wondered whether this was normal for this place or if it was only so crowded at weekends. He and Seishirou were looking for a gaming machine which wasn’t already taken.
"Hey, Reo, I want to win a prize for you.“
"You don’t have to, if it’s too much of a hassle, Sei.“
"I know that I don’t have to, but I want to. Today is your birthday Reo, so nothing will be too troublesome for me.“
Reo knew that this was Seishirous way to say „I love you, I care about you“ and that’s why it made him particularly happy. Reo had never thought that the white haired boy who’d seen every activity in life as a pain would be so passionate for something or someone and especially not for him. Everyone Reo had met previously only showed interest in him because of his family name and money, but Seishirou was different. Although he’d asked him for money on their first encounter, he’d never requested it from him again after that day.
"Thank you, Sei.“
"Huh? What for, Reo?“
"For loving me for myself.“
Seishirou had won a big lion plushie for Reo at the claw machine game. Lions were his favourite animals, but he didn’t remember telling Seishirou about it. His boyfriend had to know somehow though, because he’d been aiming at this plushie right from the beginning. Reo kissed Seishirou on the cheek. "Thank you baby! This plushie is so adorable! How did you know that I love lions?“ "I saw a lot of lion figurines in the background during our video calls. That’s why I guessed you’d like them.“ Reo couldn’t stop smiling after hearing this. His boyfriend was always good for a surprise. Reo had never thought that Seishirou was giving attention to such details but he should have known better than anyone else that the white haired boy was a genius on so many levels. The two of them spent the rest of their time at the arcade hall with trying out all of the different games. Reo’s favourite one was definitely the music rhythm game but he liked actually every single one of them because he knew that Seishirou had been enjoying himself too today. The birthday boy informed Ba-ya that she could pick them up now and while the two boys were waiting for her, they were making out in front of the building. Reo didn’t care if people who knew his parents would see them. Even if they would kick him out of the house because of his relationship with Seishirou, he would still be happy. The rest of the world didn’t matter anyway as long as Nagi Seishirou was by his side.
