Work Text:
Heavy sighed as he sat outside his father’s office. The events of the day kept playing in his head. He wouldn’t even be in this situation if it were not for his teacher’s strong dislike for him.
~
“Your appearance is disgusting!” Heavy’s teacher yelled at him, “The inappropriate clothes, your long unwashed hair, and your horrible attitude!”
Heavy Flinched hearing all this and yelled at him. He liked his style it was what he was comfortable in. The long hair comment made him freeze. Yes, he didn’t wash his hair often. He did every once in a while. He was told by Dee you do not need to wash your hair every day.
The Reason his hair was never washed though was because whenever he did wash his hair it made him look like a girl and he was doing his best to not. Ever since Heavy came out he did not want to be mistaken for a girl and it happened a lot more than he would like.
That’s the issue of being almost the spitting image of your mother.
Heavy’s teacher went back to glaring down at him and started to almost shout again, “Because all the appeals I have made to your parents keep being ignored I am going to have to take drastic measures to get them to see what is wrong with all of this.” She nodded her head to the other two teachers in the rooms. Each one grabbed onto his arms.
“Hey!’ Heavy shouted trying to tug his arms out of the teachers’ strong grips. The head teacher came over to him with a pair of scissors and cut a good chunk of the front of his hair off.
“That should get their attention and get them to come in and talk about your horrible appearance and attitude.” She smiled smugly to herself and walked away. The other two teachers followed.
Due to the meeting with the teacher heavy for once did not have detention for once and walked home with Dee.
Dee froze when he saw his little brother’s appearance. He was used to Heavy’s hair being a little disheveled but as soon as he saw the missing chunk of Heavy’s hair he was seething. Dee was always aware of the Teacher's dislike for Heavy. The thought crossed his mind maybe once that maybe one of the teachers would do this, but the likelihood of it happening was so low that he didn’t think it would. How wrong he was.
“What happened?” Dee asked his eyes kept traveling up to the missing section of hair now on Heavy’s head.
“Teachers didn’t like my appearance and were tired of being ignored by Mom and Dad…” Heavy said as he looked down. “Can we just go home so I can get this over with?
The walk home was quiet. Dee was silently fuming and Heavy was just quiet which was so out of character for the younger brother. He was normally so energetic and talkative. It was almost uncomfortable for Dee how quiet this walk was. When they got home Dee and Heavy both went to their rooms. Heavy put his bag down and took a deep breath and slowly made his way downstairs towards his dad’s office. It would be better to have his dad go first he was the calmer of his two parents.
~
Heavy finally got the courage and opened the door of his dad’s office just slightly enough where he could peek part of his head in but also hide the missing chunk of his hair.
Glam’s office was always dark when he was working. It was just easier to focus when the only light he had coming was from the desk lamp he used. When Glam heard the door open he did bother to look up he was so focused on what he was working on.
“Uh, Dad…” Heavy said as he looked through the door at his dad’s figure who was writing things down. Glam's home look was always so different from his outside look. His long blonde hair was pulled back in a loose ponytail. He was a blue button-up open over his white t-shirt and had glasses on the bridge of his nose. Being at home he didn’t have any makeup on.
“Not now Heavy,” Glam said sounding dismissive but Heavy knew it was still in his father’s working hours, so he knew he was only to be disturbed when there was something urgent. This was one of those cases.
“Um…something came up with school and they are asking that you come in for a meeting,” Heavy said again still keeping the side of his head hidden by the door.
“What is the reason?” Glam asked. He and Victoria had been called to the school numerous times before. Whether it be for a fight Heavy was in or one of Dee’s teachers being upset with Dee’s attitude.
“They said they were tired of my ‘disgusting’ appearance,” Heavy said still not leaving the doorway.
“That’s all?” Glam asked seemingly annoyed. It was not at Heavy though. It was the fact he had heard this multiple times from Heavy or from notes he was given to bring home.
Heavy took a deep breath and let out a loud sigh and pushed the door open and walked into his dad’s office. He hoped that the lack of light would cover the worse part of the unwanted haircut.
As soon as Heavy walked fully into the office Glam raised an eyebrow. When Glam got a good look at Heavy his blood boiled. He immediately got the idea of what happened.
“Can you explain what happened?” Glam asked wanting to hear his son’s side of the story before he went to the school.
“Well, they said they were tired of you guys ignoring the notes they sent about it so they took drastic measures,” Heavy explained from what he was told and gestured to his hair when he said the words drastic measures.
Glam listened intently and frowned at the end and slammed his pen on the desk. He stood up and like a switch.
“Ok,” he said as he pulled the string on the light to the room, and it was not bright. The walls were a glittery pink and Glam has a smile on his face. It was not a happy one though. He was thinking of all the ways to get back at the Teachers who had put their hands on his son.
It took about an hour for Glam to look presentable to go out. He did his hair and makeup like he normally would and went to grab Heavy before they left.
While Heavy was sitting in his room waiting for his dad to get ready for them to leave Dee knocked on the door that connected their rooms and walked in. He was carrying a comb and some hair spray.
“Let’s at least see if we can hide the bald spot they created,” Dee said as he set the comb and hair spray on Heavy’s desk and Gestured for Heavy to sit in the desk chair.
Heavy got up off his bed and sat down in the chair. As soon as he was sitting straight Dee turned the chair towards him. He pointed his Phone towards Heavy and took a picture.
“Hey!” Heavy yelled looking at Dee's eyes wide. He had the fear this was going to be used as blackmail against him in the future.
“Don’t worry,” Dee said as he saved the picture. “it’s not to use against you, it's for if anything goes down with the school we have a picture of proof.” Dee set his phone down and started to comb through Heavy’s hair. He was ignoring how it hadn’t been washed in a few days. He knew the dysphoria his brother got from it. He started to part it a slightly different way and used the hairspray to try and lock it in place so it would move and show the bald spot he not had.
“Try not to touch your hair in the front. It shouldn’t move but just for precaution.” Dee explained when he finished with his younger brother’s hair.
“You ok though?” Dee asked. Though the older brother never showed it in the most affectionate ways he always cared for his little brother and whenever someone or something was bothering Heavy Dee had no issues with finding a way to put a stop to it.
“It’s not fair,” Heavy muttered. “I finally feel comfortable in my own skin and my teachers are always being mean or telling me I look bad…I just want to be comfy in my own skin.” There were small sniffles coming from the younger boy, but he refused to let tears fall.
“I know,” Dee said, “But I am sure Dad will take care of it. He won’t let stuff like this slide.”
“You’re right,” Heavy said as he stood up.
At the time Glam was right outside the door. He had heard what Heavy had said and frowned he would make sure that this didn’t happen again. He had a plan that would hopefully work. He knocked on the door. There was a come-in from Heavy and Glam pushed the door open.
“Ready to go to school?” Glam asked. He noticed Heavy’s hair looking different and the bald spot that was once there was gone. He was thankful that Dee helped cover the bald spot up. He planned to do it after the meeting. He would feel bad for dragging Heavy out of the house with his hair like that, but now he didn’t have to.
“As ready as I’ll ever be,” Heavy responded and walked over toward his dad.
“We’ll be back soon Dee” Glam said as he led Heavy out of the room and to the car outside. When both he and Heavy were in the car he started the drive toward the school. Heavy was fidgeting the whole way. It was obvious how nervous he was. The torment just had gone too long, and this latest development was too much for the poor kid.
When they pull up to the school Heavy seems even more nervous. His fidgeting stops but he had a look of absolute fear in his eyes.
“It’ll be alright Heavy. Nothing is going to happen. You don’t even have to come in with me. I’ll talk to them and then we can leave.” Glam explained to the young boy.
Heavy nodded his head and went to get out of the car. Glam followed suit and walked to the school’s front doors. He opened the door for his son and walked through after him. Heavy led the way down the hall to His teacher’s classroom.
Heavy and Glam could hear them talking through the door.
“That poor child. It’s obvious his family is dysfunctional.”
“Precisely. What parent would name their kid Heavy?”
“I won’t be surprised if his father does bother to sh-“This was when Glam decided to enter. He had heard enough about this family, and he was not going to deal with it.
Heavy stayed in the hallway and sat on the ground trying to hear what could have been said.
“Good afternoon,” Glam said as he stood in the door and started to make his way over to the single seat on the other side of the desk. The three teachers that had terrorized his son sat on the other side. “From what I was told you are not happy with my son’s appearance and behavior,” He said a smile never leaving his face.
The three teachers seemed so stunned that he showed up and that he looked the way he looked. He had no doubt they were making their own assumptions and connecting the dots slowly.
“I’m assuming you Seba-“
“You can call me Glam” Glam cut them off quickly. He was never partial to his full name.
“well Glenn-“
“Glam” He interrupted her again.
“Never mind,” she said dismissively, “your son’s appearance and behavior are not considered normal for a school like this. I would like-“ She was again cut off by Glam.
“Ah Yes, so it's normal for this school to take drastic measures…” Glam said as his face fell into a scowl. He was very Unhappy with what they have done, and it was going to show.
The teacher stuttered for a minute to find her words.
“If you take into consideration of the awful appearance the appalling behavior and the complete lack of proper upbringing he had then I think it's perfectly normal!” She shouted trying to defend her actions.
“Then I think this is a completely normal reaction,” Glam said as he stood up. He walked out without another word and gestured for Heavy to follow him to the car. As they walked out there was a loud bang and Heavy turned around confused. Glam only put a hand on Heavy’s back and pushed him towards the exit.
In the classroom, Glam had left a glitter bomb and it had covered everything in the classroom covered in glitter. That also included the teachers.
Once to the car heavy seemed to have relaxed a little knowing that his dad had taken care of it.
“Thank you,” Heavy said looking at his Dad as they drove down the street.
“Of course, I’m here for you Heavy and hopefully those teachers don’t do that anymore. I did take a precaution.” Glam said as he took a quick glance at Heavy then looked back at the road.
They got home and Glam immediately went to start Dinner. Heavy went to go tell Dee what happened. Everything was normal until dinner and Vicky had come home.
Everyone sat at the table that the boys had set. Everything was going fine till Vicky noticed Heavy’s hair.
“What happened to your hair why is it different,” She asked with her mouth full. Heavy froze and started to tell the story all over again.
Glam assured her that everything was taken care of, and it shouldn’t happen again.
That was until a week later when Heavy’s teacher demanded to speak to his mother about the same issue.
