Apparently, after the fateful incident on the rooftop one year ago, Kavin and Kaning began dating. For the first time in his life, the notorious Casanova had a chance to commit to a serious and official relationship, and he was undeniably smitten with love.
Of course, Kavin had always had a soft spot for his chipmunk, long before he called her *"teerak." Therefore, it was no surprise when she frequently appeared in his dreams—her radiant smile, her cute little ribbon, and her warm, inviting doe eyes. Those scenes had rescued him from his previous haunting nightmares and granted him peace of mind whenever he fell asleep. No longer did he dream about his regretful past with Mona, because he knew that he would find solace in Kaning's presence in his sleep.
This morning, as part of his daily routine, Kavin woke up and checked his phone. He hoped to find a greeting message from Kaning, his girl.
“Here it is,” he smirked. As usual.
Kaning: “Awake yet? I’m preparing for my early classes.” She sent him a picture of herself busy braiding her hair with yellow ribbons. “Have a nice day, Master Kavin. See you in the afternoon,” she added.
Kavin replied, playfully teasing: “How can I survive 8 hours after witnessing this alluring beauty? P’Kavin longs for you.”
With a bright smile dancing on his lips, he captured a screenshot and saved it on his phone before getting ready for his class at the university. Oh, you are right! He came back to his long-ago track, when he used to be a brilliant student. Not the stereotypical “nerd” kind, but the kind who overflowed with jaw-droppingly innovative ideas. Now, he was more than ready to inherit his giant family’s business - a top-notch 60-year-old corporation in Thailand.
On the way to his university, Kavin tapped on the steering wheel of his favorite sports car, allowing his mind to wander for a while. At that moment, he thought he had achieved all the things he had been longing for:
His dream of becoming a successful businessman.
His desire to escape the loop of breaking hearts.
And, the most important thing: He had a girl he loved, who was willing to embrace his dark sides, to hold his sharp thorns and gently take them down even though she might bleed.
Who was he to seek more? Those things were too precious to be true to him. Even the sky he was gazing at. Kavin also felt grateful for that serene blue autumn sky which he had never minded watching for a minute before.
Little did he know that the sky he adored, the life he cherished, would soon be turned upside down.
Kavin and Kaning. They could have it all. But it was just “could have”...
