Sunghoon is facing Sunoo with a heartbroken face, “Then why did you stay?” he asked in a calm way but deep inside he wanted to explode—he wanted to cry his heart out.
It was supposed to be the best day for him—his and Sunoo’s 5th year anniversary. But he didn’t expect that it would turn out to be the worst day for him.
They—Sunghoon and Sunoo are walking—hands intertwined to each other when someone called Sunoo’s name.
“Sunoo?”
Both of them turned their heads to the person who called Sunoo, and there they saw Jungwon with Ni-Ki. “Won?”
“It’s you! Omg, Ni-Ki, it’s Sunoo!” Jungwon started clapping because of delighted and ran towards Sunoo.
“Why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be where Hee is? You said you wanted to stay with him? Oh! Wait, did you two—Sunghoon?” Jungwon didn’t finish his words when he saw Sunghoon standing behind Sunoo with a confused look.
“Ha ha, ahm, you guys hungry?” he asked with an awkward laugh.
Sunoo looked at Sunghoon with an apologetic smile, “I’m sorry about Jungwon. Sometimes his mouth doesn't have filters,” he reasoned out.
But what hurt Sunghoon is that Sunoo didn’t even deny what his friend just said earlier. “Hee? Heeseung? What did Jungwon mean earlier?” he asked himself.
“Let’s go? I saw a food stall not far from here,” Jungwon invited them.
Sunoo was about to follow when Sunghoon grabbed his hand and said, “We’ll follow later,”
“Hoon?” Sunoo looked at his boyfriend and he tried to touch the latter’s face when he avoided his hand.
“Hee? Was it Heeseung?” Sunghoon asked.
Sunoo looked at him, “That was years ago, Hoon. You’re the one I love,” he said.
“Lies,” Sunghoon thought.
Sunghoon can’t help but to laugh sarcastically and look at Sunoo, straight in the eye. “Choose Sunoo, me or Heeseung?”
“What’s with your question, Sunghoon? Let’s go. I’m hungry,” he said and turned around but Sunghoon pulled him to face him again.
“Me or Heeseung, Sunoo? Just answe—” “Hee! Are you happy now?!”
Sunghoon looked at Sunoo and smiled, “Thank you. Thank you for being honest, Sun,” he said.
Then that’s where Sunoo realized what he said, “Hoon…I didn’t…That’s not what I meant,” he said and held Sunghoon’s hand.
The latter just smiled at him and touched his face, “I know, Sun. I know,” he said.
Sunoo is just looking at him with a broken face.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry,” Sunoo kept saying but Sunghoon just stood there facing him with a heartbroken face. “I tried, I really tried,” the younger said.
“Then why did you stay?” he asked in a calm way but deep inside he wanted to explode—he wanted to cry his heart out.
“Because I can’t leave you…,” Sunoo answered.
Sunghoon lift Sunoo’s face—crying face and smiled at him, “ I wish I was the reason you chose to leave, rather than the excuse you gave."
“Hoon…” “Happy 5th anniversary, Sun. Choose him now, no need to think about me. I love you,” Sunghoon said and gave Sunoo a kiss on the forehead.
“Thank you for loving me,”
Upon saying those words, Sunghoon turned his back on Sunoo and started walking. He can hear Sunoo’s voice calling him, but he fought the urge to look back. Because if he will, he doesn't know if he can let go of Sunoo.
"Thank you for the 5 years of letting me love you, Sun."
