Footsteps are heard as two figures walked in an alley, one helping the other walk.
"Shit, shit, shit, how did this happen" Megumi says looking frustrated, his arm secured around Yuta as he supported the older boy.
"Megumi can you move your hand up, your puncturing my injury" Yuta says.
"Sorry" Megumi says before doing so.
"Are you ok?" Megumi asks stopping to check on his brother.
"Yeah, don't worry" Yuta says, Megumi could tell he was lying but was trying to assure him.
Megumi helps Yuta sit on the ground before sitting himself and pressing his head to the wall.
How could have this have happened?
Right, it was all his fault?
It had been his very first mission without Gojo and he desperately wanted to make a good impression.
He was sick of all of Gojo's bragging about how he's been killing curses since he was ten or whatever and wanted to prove himself.
Gojo had wanted to accompany them but he didn't need his help, he wasn't a baby, he wanted to show Gojo what he could do, he thought he couldn't handle it.
But when the moment came to actually exorcise the curse he froze, he couldn't do anything, he just stared. If Yuta hadn't been there he would have died, he pushed Megumi out of the way saving his life but getting injured in the process as the curse threw him into a wall puncturing his ribcage but still he managed to excorsise it.
That's how he failed his first mission and maimed his brother, it was only a grade four curse too, the lowest of the lowest.
Gojo wouldn't have done something so pathetic, if he found out now he'd never trust Megumi again and worst he'd look down on him.
He couldn't let him find out.
Megumi stands up and helps Yuta up. "Let's go"
"To where?" Yuta asks sounding very much in pain.
"I'll take you to a hospital" Megumi replies.
"Shouldn't you call Gojo or Shoko, it'll be easier to explain than going to a hospital" Yuta says stopping in-between words to keep the pain from intensifying.
No way, he wasn't calling Gojo and if he told Shoko Gojo would find out.
"No way, I'm not asking Gojo for help, I'll figure it out" Megumi says, he can't know how badly Megumi screwed up.
Yuta sighs. "Megumi don't you think you're being unreasonable, just tell Gojo to come get us, I'm sure he won't he mad" Yuta says.
Megumi sighs in frustration. "I'm not afraid he'll be mad, I'm just...... it's " he says thinking of what to say to Yuta.
"What then?" Yuta asks.
"He'll think I'm weak."
"He'll think i can't handle things."
"He won't trust me again."
He doesn't say any of what he's thinking.
"I can take care of it myself" he says instead.
Yuta sighs. "I trust you Megumi but i really think you should-" Yuta suddenly falls down pulling Megumi down with him.
"Yuta?" Megumi calls looking at his brother's unconscious body.
Yuta's shirt was entirely soaked with blood from his injury.
Megumi heart beat sped up, was Yuta dead?.
"Yuta? Yuta?" Megumi screamed as he quickly checked for a pulse and heart beat, sighing in relief after he finds it.
"Oh shit, he's lost a lot of blood" he says to himself.
"I can't get him to a hospital in time especially not while carrying him" Megumi says.
"What do i do?" He thinks before getting an idea that fills him with dread.
"Gojo can teleport"

Megumi sat with his head lowered while Shoko was with Yuta in the other room.
Satoru clears his throat. "Gumi you can't ignore this forever you know"
Megumi looks away. "I was hoping i could" he mumbles before adding. "If you want to say something say it"
"Why didn't you tell me you were finished with the mission and that Yuta was so badly injured?" Satoru asks looking confused and concerned.
"I wanted to handle it on my own" Megumi says. "I knew if i told you you'd look down on me" (and be disappointed) that was left unsaid.
Satoru looks confused. "And why would i?" He asks.
Megumi groans in frustration. "Because offcourse you would, i failed, i couldn't do anything even after all that training, it's my fault Yuta got hurt, offcourse you'd look down me, I'm not ready to be a sorcerer" Megumi says.
Satoru sighs. "Megumi that's stupid reasoning"
Megumi's eyes widened. "Huh?"
"You failed once on your first time no less and you lose your shit, i thought you were stronger than that" Satoru says. Megumi pops a vain.
"See this is what I'm talking about" Megumi says looking annoyed.
"I'm not insulting you I'm being real" Satoru says. "Look Megumi your strong i know you have amazing potential and if you give up now you'll never get there, so don't beat yourself up about one failure instead use it as your motivation" Satoru says.
Megumi listened, this was not the berating he was expecting.
"Next time you want to quit remember this feeling" Satoru says.
Megumi looks down before clenching his fists and raising his head giving a determined look.
"I guess you're right" Megumi says, he didn't want to admit it but that really made his day. "Thank you" he mumbles.
Satoru smiles. "No problem, also I'm sorry if i make you feel inferior or pressured to succeed, i forget your a kid and my words can get to you sometimes" Satoru says. Megumi is surprised, it's not everyday Gojo apologized.
Megumi shrugs. "It's alright" he says, not wanting to admit his apology meant alot to him.
"I'll keep training and get stronger" Megumi says.
"Good" Satoru says.
"Sorry to interrupt but Yuta's awake" Shoko says with a bored look.
"Yuta" Megumi says quickly getting up and running to Yuta's side.
Yuta is awake reading a book, he smiles when he sees Megumi.
"Hi Me-" he's interrupted by Megumi hugging him, happy he's alive.
"I'm so sorry Yuta, i should have protorized your safety over my pride, I'm such a jerk" he says.
Yuta smiles warmly at him. "It's alright really, I'm just glad we're both ok so don't beat yourself up"
"Really? Your not mad at all?" Megumi asks.
Yuta chuckles. "Really I'm not, you made a mistake but learned your lesson so it's ok" Yuta assures, Megumi sighs in relief.
"I'm glad, are you feeling better, your not hurting are you?" He asks.
"A little but I'm ok" Yuta replies.
"Good then" Satoru says scaring both boys.
"Where did you come from" Megumi asks looking slightly annoyed.
"Doesn't matter, Yuta you good?" Satoru asks.
Yuta nods. "Yeah"
Satoru smiles. "Great, well we'll leave you to rest, we'll be back later with dinner, come on Megumi"
As the two are walking away Megumi speaks up.
"I want to train if you don't mind"
Satoru grins. "Not at all"
