This is my first time writing a story and like this, and I'm terrible with writing so I apologize for the large amount of mistakes there will be <3. Unfortunately< I'm a full-time student so updates WILL be very scarce and far in between.

Thanks for reading and enjoy !! <3 <3

Chapter 1: A Past Flame

Chapter Text

“Hey Al!”

A taller boy walked into the classroom, his name was Darius Deamonne. He had piercing green eyes, and dreadlocks tied up into a ponytail. He was one of the strongest abomination students in the school, and some even said he would be a leader someday.

“I read the coolest book about potions last night, and was wondering if I could come over after school to study,” he winked.

He was talking to his boyfriend at the time, Alador Blight. He was another abomination witch, who was much more fond of creating abomination related trinkets, similar to that of WickedBell (The Boiling Isles version of TinkerBell). He spent much of his afterschool time with Darius, and they eventually began to develop feelings for each other.

Those same feelings eventually blossomed into a very cute relationship, but they were wanting to keep it a secret. They were happy to have had a mutual fondness for each other, but weren’t sure of how their friends would take it.

“Hey Al, so I was wondering-” Darius began to say, but was quickly cut off by their mutual friend Odalia.

“Hey nerds, what are you guys talking about?” she chortled.

“Nothing of interest Lia,” Alador replied back.

“Oh cool,” she said shortly. “I was just wondering if you guys had dates to Grom this weekend."

Odalia McAfer, one of the coolest and coldest girls to walk the halls of HEXSIDE high. At the same time was head over heels in love with Alador, and was hoping he shared feelings for her as well. She was slightly shorter than Alador, but stood much taller in terms of confidence and readiness. She had yet to have her ego bubble popped, and she wasn’t going to let that change anytime soon.

The subject she was discussing was Grom, the biggest dance for all HEXSIDE students. The most fun and exhilarating night for students, although not for all, who were ready to dance with a special someone for the first time.

Darius had been talking to his friends in the hall while Odalia and her best friend Moralai (Boscha’s mom), had been talking by their lockers.

“What if he says no!? I don’t want him to be embarrassed, I mean we’ve only been dating for, like, a month at this point. I mean I want to dance with him, but I don’t want to push him to be public about us ya’know, it’s GROM for Titan’s sake it’s huge!!” Darius said frantically.
“WHO are you talking about Darius?” one of his friends asked.

“Oh! Uh, I’ll tell you but you have to promise not to tell anyone okay?” He whispered back.

“Oh my gosh okay I won’t!” his friend whispered as well.

Although the two were whispering Moralai and Odalia had been listening in to their conversation, she was very set on finding out who this mystery date was.

“He’s a boy in my abomination class, his name is Alador, and I just think he’s the cutest!! And again you can’t tell anyone, but… he’s my boyfriend” Darius whispered, trying to contain his happiness and love.

“Oh my GOSH, NO WAY!! I mean seriously no way! I’m so happy for you, but I never knew you guys were even friends!?” Darius’s friend responded quietly.

The two began to walk away, heading towards their next classes, as his friend was on the potions track. However, Odalia stayed jaw-dropped next to Moralai at her locker, you could see her world shattering into one-million pieces, and quickly becoming replaced with the darkness of envy.

“Mora, I have an idea, and it’s gonna be big.” She stated, while walking away fuming with anger.

Odalia didn’t hesitate to begin planning something to get Darius and Alador to break up before Grom. She and Moralai spent the night plotting and planning to get the best revenge, and in the end Odalia would be the one to swoop in and piece back together Alador’s shattered heart, and secure her spot of victory.

“Lia, I think we’ve got an extremely devious plan going here. One could say it would even make the Titan shiver just at the thought of it.” Moralai said to Odalia as the two were brushing their teeth getting ready for bed.

“I couldn’t have asked Titan for a better friend than you Moralai, and may Titan help their souls once I’m through with this” Odalia responded with a large grin on her face.

What’s the plan you may ask?? I don’t know, some say that they kept it so secret that even the writer was unable to figure out what they had planned, but it was something devilish.

Darius and Alador were laying in Darius’ bed quietly giggling while trying not to wake Darius’ parents up. They had worked on Alador’s potion list for quite some time, and they both got distracted by each other when Darius panicked from a potion-splosion and held Alador’s hand. The two began laughing, giggling, talking, and kissing for hours at that point and lost track of time. Alador simply asked his mother if he could stay the night, because it was rather late already.

“Hey Al?” Darius began to ask. “I was just wondering, y'know Odalia mentioned Grom earlier today, and-”Alador cut him off with a kiss on the cheek.

“Darius I would love to go to Grom with you.” He replied, thinking he was smooth.

Darius became extremely flustered and was unable to respond. The two said goodnight to each other, and both drifted off to sleep.

***
The next day at HEXSIDE was going down in Odalia’s book as one of the most devilish days of her life. She was prepared to create mass destruction for what she wanted, even at the cost of the heart of who she was in love with. Odalia and Moralai began putting their plan into action.

“HE DID WHAT!?!?!?!” Alador exclaimed after hearing a few students talking in the hall. “How could he do that, he wouldn’t, there’s no way he would ever say or do anything to hurt me, right?” He pleaded as he began to feel tears well in his eyes.

“What’s wrong Al?” a voice, almost that of an angel, had begun to comfort Alador at that moment. His best friend, Odalia, had come from her locker to check on her upset friend.

“Oh…hey Lia. I just heard something terrible, I need to speak with Darius as soon as possible,” Alador said, practically in tears.

“I heard something awful happened between you two, but I only heard minor details. I want you to know that I’m here for you Al,” Odalia said, attempting to comfort Alador. “Maybe you should go home, and I can come by after school so we can talk, and maybe avoiding that jerk Darius would be for the better,” she offered.

“That would be nice Lia, I really appreciate it, thank you. You’re so nice!” He said, walking away to ditch school for the rest of the day.

Odalia was beaming inside, and she was prepared to continue doing whatever it took to secure her spot with Alador at Grom. It hurt her for a mere second to see the havoc that she had caused in the boy she was head over heels for, but she knew that she was prepared to pay the price.

Darius had been crying in the bathroom the entire morning after his friend explained to him what they had heard before Darius arrived at school.

“I need to go talk to him, there’s just no way…” he told his friend through sniffles. “I need to see him, Moonie, there’s just no way that he would do something like that, right!?” He exclaimed, holding back the tears ready to burst from his eyes.
“I think you need to maybe take a break from Alador, and give each other some space. Sounds like you both need a second to just breathe,” Moonie said, doing their best to comfort Darius in his shattered state.

“Maybe you’re right, but what about Grom? We were going to go together and have so much fun,” He said, making himself feel slightly worse.

“There’s always next year, but for now you need time to heal and feel better,” Moonie replied softly.

“Okay, I think you’re right.” Darius did his best to get himself perked up for the rest of the school day, and maintain his stature.

***

That night, Alador made a surprise appearance at Darius’ door step, with a letter in hand. He rang his doorbell and quickly ran away to hide across the street where his best friend/partner could not see him. Confused, Darius had opened the door expecting to see his boyfriend ready to apologize for the awful things he had done, but was met with an envelope with his name on it.

He recognized the handwriting immediately, and looked around the street to see if he could spot the one who had left it, but no one was in sight. The letter had read;

Dear Darius,

I found love within you. I found my love for you growing like a fire, keeping me warm on a cold night where all I had was myself. I was able to see the beauty within your eyes, that led me to the depths of your soul where I was ready to drown myself in the waterfall of emotion you created within me. I found beauty in the twinkle of your eyes that would shine bright, just like every star within the night sky. But recently, those stars seemed to dim, and were covered by unwanted clouds. I found light within you, but that very same light was taken away from me. I love you Darius, and I always will but I believe it is best if we are no longer together. I will be attending the dance with Odalia, and I hope we are able to remain close friends.

I love you,
Alador Blight.

Darius was unable to control the overwhelming amount of tears and sadness that washed over him like a typhoon ready to destroy a peaceful city. He began to cry and ran back to his room, where he had turned from pain to anger. Darius decided against attending Grom, to avoid the fracture growing on his heart. He was in pain, but he was ready to face it and turn it into something that would benefit him, something that would allow himself to feed into his passions.

***
Alador followed through on his spur of the moment idea to ask Odalia to Grom, so he did not have to go alone. The night of Grom was a hit, and everyone seemed to have a rather decent time, but that is not a major aspect of the dance. Odalia and Alador had spent the entire night together, and she helped ease the pain of what he had recently gone through. He began to feel as though he felt similar about Odalia, as he had felt with Darius. Odalia was more than happy, she was practically jumping out of her skin with how joyful she was to finally have gotten what she wanted, Alador’s heart, and no one was going to be stopping her anytime soon.

From there, Alador and Odalia went on to date for the rest of their time at HEXSIDE, they married soon after they graduated college together, and were able to create their own Abomination factory where they were prepared to work day and night. They eventually had a pair of twins, Edric and Emira, and eventually another daughter Amity. They lived rather happily, until they had a falling out not long after the Day of Awakening.

Darius had begun to pour himself into his work, where he was ready to become the best version of himself he could ever become. He worked hard, graduated top of his class in both high school and college, and became the coven head for the famous Emperor Belos, however after he turned to nothing, post Day of Awakening, Darius returned to his Abomination work at a familiar factory, where an old flame would soon be rekindled.
