"I think it would be easier if I got hit by a bus. At least I would be asleep." You groan as Felix walks back into the room with two mugs, camomile tea for you and coffee for him. You didn't even want to look at the time to see how late it was.
"I think you'd be in too much pain to sleep comfortably." He laughs as he gives you your mug, sitting down beside you in bed.
"They'd be pumping me with so much pain meds, I wouldn't even know if I was awake." You sigh before taking a sip of your tea.
Your doctor had adjusted your Adderall dosage after you to her that you were having trouble sleeping. You even went as far as stopping taking the pill altogether to try to get a decent night's sleep, only to be reminded of why you needed it in the first place.
You've tried everything to try to sleep for the past few weeks. Sleepytime teas, exercising, asmr, calming music, white noise, essential oils, yoga, lowering the temperature in your apartment, guided meditation-- hell you even changed your diet and you still couldn't sleep until the early mornings. It's not that you aren't tired, because every part of you is exhausted, it's that you just can't sleep.
You watch as Felix takes a sip of his coffee and twists his face in disgust at the bitterness. Felix promised that he would stay up with you until you fell asleep to keep you company and help you feel better. But even this is too late for him and he has to force himself to stay away while trying to help you sleep.
"I could go down on you if you want," He suggests calmly.
"Felix, please ," You breathe, annoyed with his idea. You just want to sleep.
"Hey, I'm just throwing out suggestions. Sex tires out both the body and the mind. Or at least the way that we do it does." He takes another sip of his coffee and regrets it before putting it down.
"I'm so exhausted, I don't even have a witty remark to throw at you. I'm so fucking tired, I don't get why my body won't just sleep at this point. And now it's affecting you too!" You choke out a sob.
Felix quickly takes your mug out of your hand and sets it beside his and throws his arms around you, rubbing gentle strokes along your back.
"Hey, don't cry. It's okay. You just got to give your body some time to adjust to the new dosage and your body will let you sleep like normal again. And don't worry about me staying up with you. I'm just thinking about it as spending more time with you, to be honest." He says softly.
"Yeah but, you can't stay up with me forever."
"I know it feels like it's going to be like this forever, but it's not. It's only temporary." He pulls you off his chest and presses a kiss to your forehead.
"I'm just so tired, Lix." You whisper.
"I know, I know my sweet angel. Let's try watching some tv, yeah?" Felix leans back against the headboard and pulls you down to his chest as he grabs the tv remote with his free hand. He turns on the tv and puts it on a random cooking channel before turning off the light. Eventually, the two of you drift off to sleep.
