How Does Forever Sound?

Summary:

FINALLY! Chenford Wedding.

Work Text:

Lucy wakes up to the sun shining through her bedroom window. Gleaming off her blinds. It’s a beautiful morning. As she lets out a yawn and an arm stretch. The day she has only fantasized about has arrived. Today, she’s a blushing bride to the man of her dreams. She never thought she could love someone as fiercely as she loves Tim Bradford. She has to pinch herself and make sure this hasn’t been a dream. Even looking back to when they first met. Lucy a hot shot rookie and Tim a grumpy, rough TO. She never waivered. Took all his Tim Tests like a champ. She always knew from day one there was more to this man than he was allowing anyone to see. Here she is on their wedding day because she never gave up on him and slid into his heart. Lucy disliked when she woke up without Tim. But this one time it was for the greater good. She never slept well when he had to put in a night shift with Metro. Last night she fell asleep with no problem and slept like a baby. They slept apart because she was becoming Lucy Bradford today. The Bradford’s. Tim, Lucy, Tamara and Kojo. More little Bradfords to come. For now, they had a perfect family and it would be official today. Lucy wasn’t alone this wonderful morning. Their adopted daughter Tamara was just in the next bedroom over. Everything was perfect. Lucy heard her phone chime which was placed on her night stand. She didn’t have to look to know who it was. Sure enough Tim’s name flashed across the screen, as she opened their text thread. Thinking she couldn’t still be surprised with his love and soft side. Again, he gave her that butterfly feeling.

“Good morning to the most beautiful bride this world has ever seen. A bride that I get to call my wife in a few short hours. I am the luckiest man in this world. See you soon sweetheart. I can’t wait to see you walk towards me in your dress, looking as gorgeous as ever. I love you more than anything in this world. Soon to be Lucy Bradford. See you shortly, baby. Xoxo Tim”

“Good morning, handsome. You always know the exact right thing to say, don’t you? I love you so damn much, babe. Hopefully Grey can rein me in as I probably try and run down the aisle to get to you. I can’t wait to be your wife. See you very soon my perfect man”

As Lucy poured a cup of coffee. Tamara emerged from her bedroom. Smiling from ear to ear. “What’s with you?” asking Lucy. “I’m living every kids dream. The day when my mom marries my dad” whispering Tamara to her mom. “T, your dad already made me cry once this morning. We are not going for a record before I even get my dress on” adding Lucy. “He loves you so damn much” whispering Tamara. Tamara brought out Kojos tuxedo hankie . Placed it around the king of canines neck. Tamara snapped a pic and sent it to Tim. “Morning, daddio. I can’t take a pic of your soon to be wife or she will literally kill me but maybe this will tide you over. He’s ready. Can’t wait to see you standing at that altar. Love your favourite kid - T” texted Tamara. “Morning, kiddo. I can’t believe I let you and your mom talk me into getting him that tux hankie, but I have to admit he looks quite dashing. My boy. The only help I have against you two” replying Tim. Lucy had wanted Kojo to have a part in the wedding. He is such a big part of both of them and their journey. Tim was worried that he would get too excited. Crash into people. Aaron offered to walk Kojo down the aisle with a leash of course and stand beside Tamara with the canine while Lucy walks down the aisle. Their whole family together through the ceremony. It was literally, perfect. Aaron came a few minutes later to pick up Kojo and take him to the park.

Tamara piped up. “Ok let’s get ready. Limo will be here to pick us up in a hour and a half. Head in the game, Mom. I’m gonna go get my dress on. Then we can do our makeup before that gorgeous dress goes on you” “Sounds like a plan” adding Lucy. Tamara’s dress was a beautiful, silky yellow floor length dress. Tamara emerged from her bedroom. “T you look so beautiful. I think your dad is gonna be crying well before I come down the aisle” laughing Lucy. Next was makeup. Tamara gave Lucy a natural look with a light pink lipstick as Lucy had requested. Tamara applied some light makeup as well. They were ready. Lucy let out a big sigh as she slipped into her floor length, simple white gown. Simple but she never looked more beautiful. Hair was done by Tamara in a loose, pinned bun. The bun was her trademark, so she wanted to keep that essence. Leaving a few strands of hair out to the sides of her face. “I’m ready” as she slipped her flat, white shoes on. Lucy did not do heels and wasn’t going to start on her wedding day. “Limo should be here any minute” said Tamara. “T. Can you keep my phone in your clutch? I want to have it later” asking Lucy. Tamara grabbed her phone from the counter, placing it beside here in the matching yellow clutch. “Of course, Mom” as a tear escaped Tamara’s eye. She couldn’t believe how she struck gold when she stole Lucy’s car. It lead her here. Finally having a family with a mom and a dad who loved her unconditionally. Age didn’t matter. She had parents who were going to be declaring their love for one another.

Over at the Lopez-Evers house. Tim was ready looking utterly handsome in his tux. Wes and Angela entered the room. Wes began. “You ready man?” Tim replying adding “So, ready” Wes giving Tim a friendly handshake. “I’m so happy for you man. You really have found your perfect soulmate” adding Wes. “Thanks man, she really is my one true love. I’m so damn lucky” As Angela stepped in to straighten Tim’s tie. “Aren’t you glad I pushed you to get your head out of your ass?” smirking Angela. “Am I ever! That push was the key to happy ending. I’m pretty sure I will be in debted to you for the rest of my life” muttering Tim. “We can call it even after you name your first born daughter after me. I mean second daughter.” Angela never forgetting Tamara is their first born daughter. “Deal. At least a middle name” chuckling Tim. They headed out of the house with Jack in his little tux. Their baby girl was going to stay with Patrice until the reception.

The park was beautifully decorated with yellow and white. White chairs strategically faced towards the gazebo where they would say I DO. Guests began to arrive. As everyone sat down. Tim and Angela made their way to the front. Lucy and Tamara’s limo was parked with them inside. It took all of Tims strength to not go over, open that door and pull his almost wife out of that limo. He wanted to see her NOW. Lily, also in a yellow dress was first to walk towards Tim spreading flowers down the aisle. Sitting down beside her mom and stepdad, Nyla and James. Wes walked Jack down the aisle next with the rings placed on a satin pillow. Angela reaching down and giving her son a hug. Taking the rings off the pillow. Jack walking over to Nyla and sitting on her knee. He loved his auntie Nyla. Wes took his place beside Tim at the front. Aaron walked Kojo, having to pull him back as he wanted to beeline straight for his dad. The limo door opened. Tamara in her beautiful yellow dress stepped out. Lucy was right Tim would be crying before he saw Lucy. Tamara holding a lovely bouquet made her way down the aisle. As she looked at her dad, his eyes already blood shot. Just smiling at their daughter. The moment had finally arrived. Grey standing outside the limo door. Him opening the door and there she was. As they interlocked arms and began making their way down the aisle, everyone standing. Tim had tears literally streaming down his cheeks. He was speechless. He couldn’t even comprehend how gorgeous she looked. There was not a word in the English dictionary that could describe how incredible she looked. Angela handing him a Kleenex. She made sure to grab a bunch before leaving the house. Knowing full well there would be plenty of tears. Majority Tim’s of course. As Tim stepped towards Grey and Lucy. “Take care of her” whispering Grey. “Always. I promise to, forever” answering Tim. Grey took a seat next to Luna. Tim softly taking Lucy’s hand and walking them to the front, as they faced one another. Tim couldn’t help himself “you look so god damn beautiful” he was whispering but everyone heard and let out simultaneous chuckles. Lucy smiling. God, she loved this man.

Wes began talking. Giving personal memories about his friends and how he knew it was fate they would end up together. Poking a little fun on how long it took. Then came the time for the vows. Angela gave Tim the ring to place on Lucy’s finger. Tim began.

"Lucy Chen. When you walked into my life as a stubborn, spunky rookie. I knew I was going to be challenged to train you to become a fine police officer. Little did I know, How you were going to rock my world to the core. I was a shell of a man when you came on the scene. You brought me out of the darkness and showed me a light at the end of the tunnel. You showed me how to love again and gave me the ability to be loved. Which seemed like an impossibility. Lucy, I have never known a love like this. You are the love of my life. My soulmate. My other half. I love you more than anything or anyone in the world. I'm so in love with you. I promise you, to spend the rest of my life showing you the love that you deserve. I love you, my beautiful girl"

Not a dry eye in the house. Now it was Lucy’s turn. Angela giving her a ring to place on Tim’s finger. Reaching back to hand Tamara her bouquet.

“Tim Bradford. As your 'boot' I didn't know how I was going to endure your 'Tim Tests'. I knew deep down you were going to shape me to become one of LAPD'S finest. I was bound and determined to be the best rookie you ever trained. Just for the record, you say I'm in the top three but I know I'm number one. Along the way, you became the most important person in my life. I truly never knew what being in love felt like, until you came along. You saved me in so many ways. You're my forever hero. You too, are the love of my life. I never thought I could love someone the way I love you. I promise to show you love everyday. I will always be by your side through life. I love you, my handsome man"

“Nothing more to say except. Tim you may now kiss your bride” Tim placing a passionate, loving kiss to his now wife’s lips. Yes, wife. They were now husband and wife.

They joyfully walked down the aisle. Hand in hand. As Mr and Mrs Bradford.
