When the Death Part is Literal

Summary:

Skull is forced to attend a party hosted by Vongola to celebrate the breaking of the curse. He just wants to be done with it and go home but the Arcobaleno crossed a line.

And to put it in Hiyori-kouhai's words, he goes apeshit.

(Where Skull de Mort is nothing but another identity for an Exiled Visored.)

Notes:

I can't believe there are only few KHR and Bleach crossovers. Come on, Dying Will flames and Shinigami? Its right there.

And there's a special someone that has a complicated relationship with death and a neat looking helmet. How can I not make a fic about it?

Underlined words are spoken in Japanese.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Skull— No, Karu felt his left eye twitching— (Ya betta' fix 'at)— as his patience ran as thin as the paper Kisuke-kouhai's fans are made of in Hiyori-kouhai's hands. Slowly and without detection he took deep breaths, he loosened his grip on the poor wine glass. Closing his eyes to feel Oodako's tentacles better through the suit— while fitting him perfectly, was forced on him.

Let it simmer and boil, his Zanpakuto spirit calmed and he breathes out an audible sigh.

He won't give them a warning, see how great they are at being the best. Seriously, this whole mafia thing is a joke and he just wants to go home after that annoying curse was lifted and the earthling disappeared (there's a reason they almost went extinct).

But no— he has to play more house with these dysfunctional relationships that he would throw his therapist at, but he doesn't have one so Hachigen-kouhai and Tessai-kouhai will do.

And Tsuna-tan, bless his heart, while a kind boy, isn't just the type of person he would spend his time willingly with or dote on. Ichigo-kun is better to tease.

"Lackey," speaking of the devil.

Ka— Skull turned apprehensively, a forced smile straining his cheeks as he lowered his head slightly at his betters.

"Y-yes, Reborn-sempai?" He grinned weakly, fingers fidgeting on the rim of his half-empty cup.

The bastard slightly puffed up at being recognized as superior and had a foreboding quirk on his lips.

"Me and the others," a slight tilt of his head over his shoulder where the rest of the Arcobalenos are, "think that it's prime time for you to leave the Carcassa—"

What.

"W-what?" He stuttered and this time the bastard didn't hide a condescending eyeroll.

With a wave of a hand, Skull yelped as the floor under him gave way to a mist portal and was suddenly transported to the gathering of the Arcobalenos on the other side of the ballroom.

He was sat on a comfortable looking chair but in truth is unbalanced, with him sitting and the others looming over him.

The nerve.

(Kisuke-kouhai and Tessai-kouhai spilled just like what it felt to be judged by Central 46 in their high chairs and low stands so the convicts can't help but look up—)

As I was saying," Reborn once again appeared on his sight with long quick strides, "We've come to an agreement that the Carcassa is a bit... below your station as an Arcobaleno."

"So, we transferred you to one of my squads where I'm sure you'll perfectly fit in!" Yuni clasped her hands together, a perfect motherly smile directed at him.

As if he's a child.

"That's right, the Arcobaleno are Vongola's allies so all of us have connections one way or another to show our friendship," Lal Mirch coldly looked down on him.

"Mou, just one of us not being connected is bad for business and the Carcassa isn't important enough for Vongola to extend its hand to," Viper sighed exasperated at having to explain at all.

"So we took it in our hands to help you, though we could always do something else?" Fon benevolently smiled at him as if he was blind to not see the hidden threat.

"Ha—"

These fucking "...maggots."

Before they could react properly, deep coiling reiryoku had been unhidden, creating a small blast of wind that threw the people around him off their feet, save for the few and annoyingly enough the Arcobaleno was only off-balanced.

Oodako slipped on his hand, crimson tentacles curling comfortably on his fingers before transforming to the familiar form of his Zanpakuto. An elegant nodachi with an ink-stained blade.

He smoothly stood up, picking up his smuggled phone as a strange white liquid dripped down his mouth. It took the shape of tentacles that began chaining his face in like a helmet.

Ring ring ring— ["Aren't you supposed to be in that stupid par—"]

"I'm going home." Skull Karu's voice warbled just like it does when he's in the middle of hollowfying.

There was a beat on the other end before cheers bellowed from his crappy speaker, words like 'finally!' was often repeated.

["Took you long enough,"] she huffed. ["Oi, idiots! We're going to prepare a feast!"] And then he was rudely hung up on.

Huffing fondly, he looked up to see the incredulous faces of his fake pack.

"Skull, what the fuck—"

"Shut up, maggot. I'm not Skull," he said with a sneer behind his mask. "I can't believe all of you fell for it, for the so-called strongest, not only are you weak but you're stupid too."

Anger started to dot their faces before he made them stumble with a burst of finely controlled reiatsu. "Remember my name well, maggots. Because I will never repeat it to you."

"I am Karu, the fourth Kenpachi and a Visored, not an Arcobaleno." Deflecting three wrath-wrapped bullets with his sword and catching a tonfa with his free hand.

"For disrupting a celebration of Vongola, kamikorosu," the weak cloud growled.

Cute, but Karu isn't in the mood to play with prey so he growled deeper. "Musaboru, Fuchi Garugā."

His shikai release sent the other flying, though the little skylark landed lightly on his feet. Pity, he sighed on his head and it seemed the hits emboldened the others to shift into fighting stances. He shook his head condescendingly at the action.

"It seems that you can't retain such simple information," he chuckled, the sound echoing on his mask. "I'll just make sure you never forget," he crooned sweetly before it turned into bloodthirsty glee.

"Bankai: Yattsu no Sumi Nagare no Fuchi Garugā."

Eight gigantic tentacles snaked the impressive walls and marble floors like shadows, each inky limb flooding huge amounts of room. Behind Karu is the true version of his precious Oodako, gone is the soft coral color and was replaced by dark depths. His eyes burning a sickly purple from the depths.

With his power, the grand ballroom laughably looked like a doghouse.

Though after a few moments, he inadvertently came down from his high. He turned to the maggots. Shadowed eyes glazing in pure apathy that they could practically feel it as the weight over their shoulders heaved, much more so on the Arcobalenos that they kneeled.

"You've wasted enough of my time," he blankly said as his mask started to dissolve, showing void black eyes instead of clear amethysts.

With a flick of a wrist, he sliced the air and opened a garganta, deftly stepping through it without looking back.

Leaving permanent ink-stained tentacle-shaped dents, each end pointed at the spot the Arcobaleno were.

And if they didn't pay attention, they wouldn't have noticed the artificial purple bond snapping.

It still left them hollow.

~~~
Kamikorosu = I'll bite you to death.
Musaboru = Devour
Fuchi Garugā = Abyss Gorger
Yattsu no Sumi Nagare no Fuchi Garugā = Eight Ink Currents of the Abyss Gorger
I could be wrong in these, I just used a translator.
Notes:
I have so much lore in this smol one shot, I need to let go:
Skull's full name is Su Karu. (funny I know.)
He's the fourth Kenpachi and you can see he took a lot of inspiration from Unohana with the nodachi and number 8. He faked his death and became the ninth and tenth 11th liutenant to prepare the division for the true Kenpachi successor, Zaraki. (also according to google, 4 = death and 9 = suffer which i thought kinda fit him)
He's also old enough to witness the building of Seiritei. He likes using honorifics, senpai to those older like Shinji, sensei to Unohana and sama for Yamamoto, kouhai to the rest that are younger than him, and kun to those he mentored. (He bastardized it for the mafia, sempai for the Arcos and tan for Tsuna and Yuni. He got the maggot from second division members he was friends with.)
He got hollowfied in the same mission the other Visoreds were. He's the first one to get his shit together with his hollow since he was a Kenpachi, he and Oodako are besties.
When he went to become a stuntman, Su Karu was often mistaken with Skull so he just went with it. The de Mort part of his name was added by Mashiro.
The curse only mildly affected him, limiting the gigai he could use to be the one with the pacifier, he still retains his adult form in his spirit form albeit slightly weakened powers. (It was a fun puzzle for Urahara before he got bored, but by then the Visored already established the Carcassa and was having a blast. So Karu just planned to wait it out until it naturally broke.)
How come he didn't snap sooner? Karu is patient, you gotta be to savor fights. But pre-curse arcos didn't tingle his Kenpachi instincts so he indulged them, acting weak when he could kill them in a blink is particularly amusing to him. During-curse, he started to get annoyed but he has the Visored to let off some steam. Then post-curse, the maggots dare to part him from the Carcassa? From his pack? You bet he'd snap.
Anyways, I couldn't get some of the juicy reactions from others since its roughly Skull's POV. I don't think I'm gonna make another part since I'm out of steam.
