Work Text:
Khaotung didn’t know what to expect from this date. He hasn't really been on many dates recently, so he certainly felt a bit anxious. The fact that it was a blind date didn’t help ease his nerves either. His close friend from the company, Mix, came up to him last week and said “I want you to meet someone. I’ve actually known him for a long time, so I don’t know why I never thought of matching you guys up. I think you’d really like him.” Khaotung was surprised because he’s been single for a while now but Mix never meddled in his dating life before. This could actually indicate that he may get along well with this guy Mix was talking about, so he got curious about it. But the more he found about the guy, First, he got more confused because he didn’t understand how Mix believed they could be a good match.
To begin with, First loved to play video games. Khaotung never had a habit of playing those games, and he didn’t think highly of the people who were gaming addicts. Second, First liked football, and he liked both watching the games and playing with his friends on a regular basis, as Khaotung learnt from Mix. Khaotung didn’t enjoy football either, he certainly didn’t like playing, because he was not much of an exercise guy. And he never really followed the league before. Being the sporty guy, First also went to the gym regularly. But Khaotung would rather spend all his free time sleeping in his cozy and comfy bed. So, he had no reason to believe things could go well between the two of them, but he had already accepted Mix’s offer so he could not back out since he didn’t want to upset his friend.
“Just one dinner.” Khaotung told himself. “If I can get through this dinner, I can later tell Mix that our vibes didn’t match.” It’s not like Mix would force him to continue seeing First. He hated going to a date biased, but it was kind of Mix’s fault, wasn’t it? He could just keep things more mysterious, instead of telling him everything he wouldn’t like about the guy. Of course, Mix told him nice things, too, like how considerate and kind and funny First was. But these were the things Khaotung needed to find out for himself. Still, he tried to clear his mind of the negative thoughts and focus on getting ready. He just played some of his favorite music to relax, he took a shower, and he put on his grey trousers and a white shirt. He also wore his favorite necklace which had dangling stars all around. Nothing too fancy, but still stylish enough for the restaurant they were going. He then styled his hair backwards and let a strand of his bangs fall onto his forehead. He was content with his image in the mirror.
Mix has given him the details regarding when and where he would be meeting First, so he left his house just in time considering the traffic as well. It took him about 25 minutes to drive to the restaurant, which gave him time to calm his nerves while he focused on the road. By the time he arrived at the restaurant, he was feeling much better and he was ready to give First a chance.
When he entered the restaurant and told the hostess about their reservation, he found out that he was the first one to arrive. The hostess led him to their table, which was in front of the window in a far corner, kind of isolated from other tables. He thanked the hostess with a smile and sat down. Only about three or four minutes later, he saw the hostess walking towards their table with a guy next to her. “That must be First.” Khaotung thought to himself, and that was probably when his thinking parts stopped working. Khaotung’s mouth fell open when he took a good look at First. He was tall, like very tall, and he was fit. Not in an intimidating, very-muscular way, but in a “wow he looks really good” type of way. He had broad shoulders, and a slim waist, which somehow made the classic black-trousers-and-a-white-shirt outfit look perfect on him. It was like every piece on him just emphasized his body lines. He had the first button of his shirt open, showing a glimpse of his chest which was complemented with a silver necklace. “He is actually quite hot.” Khaotung’s inner voice told him. His hair was falling on his forehead in a messy way, which made him look even hotter. It was accurate to say that Khaotung was really impressed by what he saw, but he had to pull himself together as First finally arrived at the table. He hoped he didn’t look like a fool in love as he got up to greet First. He reached his hand out to shake hands with his date, “Hello, I’m Khaotung.” he introduced himself. First held his hand firmly, looked straight into Khaotung’s eyes when he spoke: “And I’m First, pleasure to meet you.” Khaotung could smell his perfume, it had a fresh note, which reminded him of the ocean. But the one thing that made his heart beat faster than the average was looking into First’s eyes. He had big, round, brown eyes which gave him some sort of innocence beneath that sexy look. They remained like this, staring into each other’s eyes, for what felt like eternity. Every noise and movement around them were blocked from their senses, as if it was just the two of them in the room. While looking into First’s eyes, Khaotung couldn’t believe that he didn’t want to give this date a chance. He still needed to get to know this guy in front of him, of course, but this was the best first impression that there could be.
The spell around them was broken when the hostess politely coughed, bringing them back to reality. She smiled and told them that the waiter was going to attend to them shortly. First and Khaotung smiled shyly back at her and took their seats. Khaotung’s heart was still beating too fast, he tried to calm himself down but the man in front of him was too gorgeous. First attempted to make some small talk to break the ice, he asked Khaotung about his ride to the restaurant, then he slightly complained about the traffic. He seemed nervous, too, but this only made him look cuter in Khaotung’s eyes. Then the waiter came to their table, greeted them, and left each of them a menu. Khaotung felt a bit too nervous to eat anything, but it was the whole point of this date, so he forced himself to pick something. He finally settled on soy sauce chicken, and he decided that a drink could calm his nerves. After a moment of silence First asked him what he was going to order, and he smiled when he heard that Khaotung wanted to order some red wine. “I like red wine, too.” he said, “I’ll keep you company then.” When the waiter came back to take their orders, First told him both of their orders and asked for two glasses of a fancy wine that Khaotung also loved. After a short while, the waiter came back with their drinks, and Khaotung took a quick sip from his glass. The wine was delicious, and he hoped it would relax him a little bit before he made things too awkward by making his feelings obvious. But at the same time, he wondered if First was feeling the same way, too. It certainly felt like there was a connection when they were lost in each other’s eyes moments ago. Plus, First also seemed to share the same excitement Khaotung was feeling, because he kept fidgeting in his seat. Just as Khaotung was making deep analyses in his head, First started talking, asking Khaotung if he did not like the wine. “Oh no, on the contrary! I’m not a wine expert but this tastes really good.” he answered. The worry on First’s face was slowly wiped away upon hearing Khaotung’s answer. He then started asking Khaotung questions about his job, his family, his hobbies… the usual first date conversation. He was really attentive, and Khaotung liked that.
While they were waiting for their food, the wine started doing its job. Khaotung could finally relax, and he was talking and laughing more as well. As a matter of fact, he wasn’t even considering his sentences before they left his mouth. He wasn’t sure if this was good or bad, but it sure was better than being a nerve ball the whole night. First also seemed more at ease as the conversation kept going. His initial nervousness was gone, and he was happily answering Khaotung’s questions, sometimes even babbling, which Khaotung found adorable. They kept chatting till the waiter arrived with their food. They became quieter while eating and Khaotung had a better chance at studying First. His eyes roamed around First’s face, his eyes, nose, perfectly sculpted cheekbones, and his plump lips… He then started gazing at his body. Khaotung had already checked everything out when he first entered the restaurant but now his gaze followed the sleeve of First’s shirt, which was rolled up, displaying his forearm. He was so attractive with everything combined. But what shook Khaotung as he continued checking First out was his hands. His hands were… beautiful. They were bony and he had long fingers, but they looked elegant. For a moment, he wondered what it would be like to have them touching him. He must have stared for too long though, because he realized First was also watching him with questioning eyes. At that moment, the wine he’s been drinking overdid its job, and he couldn’t stop himself before saying “Your fingers… they are beautiful.” He froze after the words left his mouth, he turned his gaze back to his food, and he started cursing at himself inside his brain, which must have stopped working. Khaotung was waiting for First’s reaction, he expected him to be repulsed by this sudden admission, but when he could muster up the courage to look at First again, he saw that First started smirking after the traces of the shock left his face. “Thanks,” he said, “you’d be surprised if you knew what they are capable of.” Khaotung almost choke on his food when First’s words registered in his brain. He must have heard him wrong, but no, because First also seemed shocked at his own words. Were they both drunk? And was First openly flirting with him? If he was flirting, then he must have liked him, too, right? This idea made Khaotung smile, and he wondered how the rest of the night could go.
After they finished eating their food, they kept chatting for a while without mentioning the heavy flirting that just happened, till First excused himself to go to the bathroom. While he was gone, Khaotung checked his phone and saw that he had new messages from Mix, asking about the date. Khaotung decided to answer him later, when the date was over, and he had collected all the data for the assessment. When First came back to their table, he asked Khaotung if they should leave the restaurant and go for a walk, which Khaotung accepted. When he intended to call the waiter to ask for the check, First told him that it was already taken care of. Khaotung was in awe, but still he objected, saying that they should have split. First said “It’s not necessary, you can pay me back on our next date.” This made Khaotung smile even wider. “So, there is going to be a next time?” he asked First, and First assured “As long as you want a next time.”
Khaotung wanted a next time, his bias against First was already broken. Aside from the fact that he found First very attractive, he was also very cute and nice. His laugh made Khaotung’s heart warm, he liked how his eyes shrunk when he smiled sincerely. He could stare at First’s big brown eyes all night long, the eyes that watched Khaotung affectionately. He liked how comfortable he felt with First as the night progressed, and he didn’t think that was because of the wine, because he was sobering up now. But he still wanted to be near him, and it felt so natural. It felt as natural as breathing to be with First. His mind was telling him how weird it was to warm up to a person this much on the first date, but his heart seemed to already have made a decision. Can a person really tell if they belong with someone as soon as they meet? Doesn’t this only happen in the movies? Maybe this was Khaotung’s movie, where he finally found the one.
After they left the restaurant, they started wandering in the street. The city was awake, and the street was alive with people walking around, the street vendors were yelling to attract customers. This was the first time Khaotung actually enjoyed walking down a crowded street. Everything just seemed more colorful, brighter. Their conversation with First never stopped, another bonus point. It was just easy to talk to him. First asked him about his favorite three street food and started making a list of places they needed to go on their future dates. Khaotung then teased him saying “We are not even done with the first one yet.” This made First blush and he started scratching the back of his head, “Yeah, I just jumped to conclusions, I’m sorry.” Khaotung couldn’t keep his laugh and he said “I’m just messing with you, I would love to try those places on our future dates.” This made First’s face light up and he smiled so brightly at Khaotung. Khaotung’s heart started beating fast again upon seeing that beautiful smile.
After a while, First offered to go back to the restaurant’s direction, where Khaotung’s car was parked. Khaotung knew this meant their date was coming to an end, and he didn’t want that, but he agreed. It wasn’t like he could stay by First’s side forever, right? They needed to go back to their homes, to their own lives, and later they could meet again. “How later, though?” Khaotung wondered. How long was he supposed to wait before asking First on a second date? Or was he supposed to wait for First to call him? These questions made Khaotung nervous again, but these were all a part of the experience. So, he silently accepted his fate and left these worries to be tomorrow’s issue. He only needed to focus on his date, or rather the end of this date, right now. Before he knew it, they were already near the restaurant. First asked Khaotung where his car was parked, and Khaotung pointed to the corner across the restaurant. First started walking but Khaotung told him that he didn’t have to walk him to his car. First said “I know I don’t have to, but I want to.” and he gave a warm smile to Khaotung. While they were walking towards Khaotung’s car, the back of their hands were brushing against each other’s. But neither of them pulled away. Khaotung was feeling as if there was an electric flow between them, and it felt very pleasant.
When they arrived at Khaotung’s car, Khaotung turned around to face First, and he said “I really enjoyed tonight. Thank you for the dinner, and everything else.” First responded “I didn’t do anything, I’m the one who should thank you for your company.” Khaotung smiled at him, and there was a moment of silence between them. They stared into each other’s eyes, just like when they were shaking hands at the restaurant at the beginning of the night. Khaotung felt like the two of them were inside a bubble, isolated from the world, and he didn’t want that moment to end. But First broke the silence and said “You should get going, it’s getting pretty late.” To his surprise, Khaotung downright said “I don’t want to, though. I don’t want this night to end.” First looked at him for a moment, and he shortly answered “Me, neither.” As they were staring at each other, Khaotung felt that electric flow again, and he took a step forward towards First. First seemed surprised at this action, his eyes were even bigger now. But after a few seconds, he got closer to Khaotung as well. This encouraged Khaotung, and he slowly said “Then, maybe it doesn’t have to end here?” He watched First’s adams apple moving up and down. First was still a bit hesitant, but Khaotung knew he wanted more, like him. Khaotung started looking at First’s lips, then he raised his gaze to his eyes, making sure First got the message. After this, First seemed more confident and he raised his hand to hold Khaotung’s cheek. Khaotung felt like his skin caught fire where First was touching. He looked into First’s eyes with desire, and he saw the same craving there. First then quietly asked “Do I have permission to kiss you?” Khaotung slowly smiled at him before pulling First to himself, making their lips meet. First’s lips were soft, softer than he expected from those full lips. It was a very delicate kiss initially, First’s lips slowly touched his. Then, they parted for a moment, looked at each other’s eyes. First searched for uncertainty in Khaotung’s eyes, but there was none. So, First held Khaotung’s face between his hands and pulled him in for a second time. His lips felt more firm this time, like they were sure of what they were doing. First took Khaotung’s lower lip between his lips, which allowed Khaotung to suck on First’s plump upper lip. He never specifically had a thing for upper lip before, but this felt good indeed. It was incredible how well they fit together. They continued kissing each other slowly, but firmly, catching a certain rhythm, until they pulled back to catch some air. The next time they pulled each other, Khaotung’s left hand went to the back of First’s head, and his fingers went through his hair. Upon this, First opened his mouth and touched Khaotung’s bottom lip with his tongue. Khaotung answered back with his tongue. Their kiss was becoming messier, but it felt amazing. Khaotung never wanted to stop, everything about the kiss was fascinating. First’s lips, their tongues dancing against each other, his hand in First’s hair, First’s hands around his waist… First pulled Khaotung even closer, as if he wished to melt into one.
They both realized this kiss brought another kind of hunger along. Kissing was good, but it was not enough. When they pulled away to calm down, Khaotung said “Look, I really don’t want you to get the wrong idea about me, I’m not the type of person who has sex on the first date, I can assure you. Not that it’s a bad thing, I don’t judge people based on their sexual activities.” First looked confused. Khaotung continued “But I want to invite you to my place. I don’t think a kiss will suffice tonight. It was an amazing kiss, though, I must say-” First silenced him by catching his lips again. This time it was short, but meaningful. “I don’t sleep with people on the first date, either. Of course, you may not believe me right now, because I’m going to accept your offer.” First said. Normally, this would create some doubts in Khaotung’s mind, but he was somehow intoxicated by this man in front of him. He was not blinded, he was fully aware of his choices, but he knew he needed First.
They hurriedly got in Khaotung’s car. They shared another quick kiss before Khaotung started the car. Khaotung’s brain part responsible for driving must have been on autopilot mostly because he didn’t remember most of the road and how they got to his house. They couldn’t wait until they went into the house and started kissing again in the car. There were only First’s lips, hands, his fit body underneath the clothes in Khaotung’s world. At some point, First had to pull away and say “We should get inside, I believe it would be more comfortable.” to which Khaotung answered “I don’t want comfortable, I want you.” and tried to kiss First again. But First laughed and didn’t allow him. He said “Come on, we can continue inside, I’m not going anywhere.” and got off the car. Khaotung started pouting but he followed, what other choice did he have?
Khaotung’s hands were shaking so much that he couldn’t open the lock, so First had to help him. When they entered the house, First closed the door and pushed Khaotung against the door before starting to kiss him. Meanwhile, Khaotung pulled First’s shirt out of his pants and started unbuttoning it. Once he was done, he took it off and threw it on the floor. He finally got the chance to admire First’s shaped torso with his mouth open in awe. First shyly laughed at Khaotung’s reaction and he teased him by saying “Do you enjoy what you see?” Khaotung smirked at him and answered “Very much.” and attacked First’s lips again. Then, he started leading First towards his bedroom without breaking the kiss, while it was First’s turn to strip Khaotung of his shirt. When they arrived at Khaotung’s bedroom, their hands were busy discovering each other’s bodies. First reached for the belt around Khaotung’s pants and undid the belt with swift moves. He slowly pushed the pants down Khaotung’s legs, and Khaotung stepped out of his pants. First’s eyes got darker as he watched almost-naked Khaotung in front of him. Khaotung was filled with lust when he saw the way First was looking at him. He took a step towards him, put his right hand on First’s chest and slowly moved his hand up to the side of his neck and pulled him into a passionate kiss. While they were devouring each other, First’s hands went to Khaotung’s belly and he hooked his two fingers on the waistband of Khaotung’s boxer, slightly pulling it down. This made Khaotung gasp, and First pulled away from the kiss, his eyes travelling down to explore. That’s when he realized a mark on Khaotung’s skin, peaking beneath the waist of his boxer, so he pulled it a little lower to reveal the whole thing, a tattoo that said “born beautiful”. “You’re indeed born beautiful, Khaotung.” he whispered, while admiring his new discovery. This kindled a new fire in Khaotung’s stomach. First’s hand then approached his tattoo, and he gently trailed the ink with his fingers. The fire inside Khaotung was growing, but First was not done. He looked directly into Khaotung’s eyes, and asked “How do you like these ‘beautiful fingers’ touching you now?” Khaotung recalled his own words from a few hours ago, when he embarrassed himself with the help of alcohol. But those beautiful fingers were now exploring his body, so he was not complaining. He stepped away from First, and he sat on the bed, inviting First with his eyes. “I wish they were touching me more, it’s not that easy to satisfy me.” he said, giving First a daring look. First had no choice but to comply, so he walked to the bed, got closer to Khaotung’s face while holding his chin with his fingers and answered “Your wish is my command.”
****
When Khaotung woke up the next morning, he felt like he has been to heaven and back. First was still asleep beside him, and he looked like an angel. Khaotung couldn’t believe he slept with the guy on the first date, but every second of it felt right. So, he didn’t have any regrets, he hoped First wouldn’t, either. Because he really wanted to see him again, and again, and again, probably every day for the rest of his life.
He reached for his phone from his nightstand to check the time, it was 9:30 and he had new messages from Mix. Apparently, his friend got worried when he didn’t hear from him. Khaotung wrote him a short text saying “You were right, I really liked him.” Not a minute has passed before Mix answered his text: “OMG! You two were together the whole night, right??? Tell me EVERYTHING” Khaotung smiled to himself and wrote “I’ll see you later.” then he left his phone back on the nightstand and turned around to look at First. He was surprised to see him awake, First smiled at him and said “Good morning.” Khaotung’s lips also curved into the biggest smile, and he said “Good morning to you, too. Did you sleep well?” First pulled Khaotung into a hug and gave him a kiss on his head before he answered “It was the best sleep I ever had in my life.” Khaotung then said “We should do this often then, good sleep is the key to a healthy life, you know?” First nodded his head, he held Khaotung even tighter in his arms. “Oh, we will definitely be doing this often, don’t worry. I have no intention of letting you go now.”
