Chapter Text

Someone had just transformed using one of the lost Miraculouses. The peacock, more exactly. Marinette’s guardian traning had allowed her to feel the disturbance, an aftershock left by the sudden burst of magical energy. And she was sure that whoever was behind this did not have everyone’s best interests at heart. Whoever this was, their Miraculous didn’t come from a guardian. Marinette was the only guardian. This was a very serious issue, and she needed to fix it.

She opened the box. The ladybug and cat Miraculouses were out of the question. Obviously. Even the smallest chance to let the bad guy make the Wish was a chance for the world to end. The rabbit… only someone extremely stupid would even think about that. If we’re talking about the end of the world, the rabbit Miraculous is the best way to achieve that. So, she picked four Miraculouses she knew would be useful, and just as she took them out of the box she came up with the perfect wearer for each of them.

The fox for Alya.

The turtle for Nino.

The dragon for Kagami.

The snake for *sigh* Adrien… No! Of course not! She wasn’t thinking right, she had to put her feelings aside just this once… After convincing herself that it was for Adrien’s own safety, she made a choice. The snake for Luka.

“Are you absolutely sure? Asked Mullo as Marinette placed the Miraculouses in their individual boxes.”

“I really hope so.”

Chapter Text

As Alya walked into her room, she immediately noticed the small hexagonal box sitting on her desk. She walked up to it, picked it up and proceeded to open it. The box’s contents flashed with orange light, causing her to immediately drop it.

“Alya Césaire, I am Trixx. The guardian has entrusted you with the Miraculous of the fox, which grants the power of illusion.”

“Wha… what are you?”

“I am a kwami, and the necklace in the box is a Miraculous. You will need to use it to retrieve the peacock Miraculous, which has fallen into the wrong hands, and protect Paris from whoever has it.”

“And how do I do that?”

“If you say let’s pounce while wearing the Miraculous, it will transform you into a superhero. This comes with enhanced physical abilities and everything. On top of that, you will be able to create illusions by saying mirage. Once you do that, you’ll have five minutes until you detransform. Oh, and make sure no one knows your secret identity.”

“Gee, I don’t know. Illusions and now a secret identity? I’m a journalist, I’m supposed to expose the truth!”

“Think of it as going undercover to find out the supervillain’s real identity.”

“One last question: why me? Why not an adult?”

“Adults don’t detransform after using their powers, which makes it easier for them to do bad things should they fall to the dark side. Moreover, the guardian trusts you personally.”

“Is it someone I know?”

“The guardian knows everyone.”

“Ok, I guess I’ll do it then.” She put the necklace on. “Trixx, let’s pounce!”

Unlike Alya, Nino only noticed the box when he put his legs on his desk and knocked it over. It opened as it fell, revealing the Miraculous and kwami.

“Nino Lahiffe, I am Wayzz. The guardian has entrusted you with the Miraculous of the turtle, which grants the power of protection.”

“Woah, are you like a genie or something?”

“No, I’m a kwami. Instead of granting wishes, I’ll turn you into a superhero if you say shell on while wearing the bracelet in the box.”

Nino put the bracelet on. “What are my powers?”

“You can create an energy shield by saying shell-ter. But you must be careful, because you will detransform five minutes after that and no one must know your secret identity.”

“You can trust me man. Wayzz, shell on!”
