2:27 AM.
At this ungodly hour, Green still isn't done with the paperwork for his gym. His eyes are in need of a break, and he yawns every minute or so. He looks at his boyfriend, Red, who was sleeping soundly with Pikachu and Eevee by his foot. Green sighed as he slumps further down his chair, though he had a small, warm smile on his face.
He and his boyfriend had been together for a few years now, but no matter how much Green had already seen him, he still hasn't got tired of Red's face, especially when Red's sleeping. He just looked so soft and vulnerable, a stark contrast to Red's usual serious and stoic attitude.
Green's thoughts of his boyfriend's beauty was interrupted by an uncomfortable feeling by his stomach, followed by a low grumble.
He sighs and gets up, before heading to the kitchen, his steps careful and quiet as to not to disturb Red, or worse, Eevee and/or Pikachu. Green has had made a mistake of waking them up before, which resulted in tackles and electrocutions.
Green grabs a box of mini pizzas from the pantry and then pops two of them in the microwave. He sits down in the counter, and rests his head on his arms. His eyes close, while chanting “I'm just resting them, I'm just resting them,” over and over again in his head.
“I'm just resting them,”
…
“I'm just resting them…”
…
“I'm just…”
…
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
Green jolts up and quickly takes his food or off the microwave, burning his hand a bit as he does so. He lets out a big yawn and rubs the sleep right off of his eyes before he sets his plate down on the counter. Taking a bite out of one of the pizza slices, he turns and notices Red, standing by the doorway of the kitchen, seemingly woken up by the obnoxious beeping of the microwave.
He too had rubbed his eyes in an attempt to get the sleep out of it, to no avail. Red looked much worse than green. His face is still puffy from sleep, with eyes a bit red and barely able to keep open, as well as the horrible and chaotic bed hair. Needless to say, Green thought, “this is the cutest Red had ever looked.”
Red walks up to Green from behind and wrapped his arms around Green's waist, his head resting on Green's shoulder. They gently swayed together, their hearts beating as one.
“I'm sorry I woke you up,” Green softly said. Red simply nods against Green's shoulder and takes a deep breath, taking in his boyfriend's familiar but comforting scent.
Green takes a bite out of his pizza as Red continued to embrace him, and they stayed like that for a while. It was as if time had stopped, to show the world their relationship that had been through many ups and downs.
Eventually (and unfortunately for Green), Red lets go and signs, “Why are you still awake?”
Green's eyes shift to the side, “Can't sleep. I still have so many damn stuff to take care of. I want to get it done as soon as possible, I don't care if I lose a few hours of sleep over it.”
“I do.”
“I know,” he sighed, “and I'm sorry.” He wrapped an arm around Red's waist, taking the last bite of the pizza slice. He looks at Red with a small smile, “Wanna take the other pizza?”
“Only if you promise to go to sleep after.”
“I promise.”
