PowerSwap Girls

Summary:

A fight with the Jojos results in Buttercup and Bubbles swapping powers. Now the two need to learn how the other operates if they're going to save the day.

Notes:

Literature.
Creativity.
And everything fun.
These were the ingredients chosen to create the perfect little one-shot.
But Author ChristopherWeeblingJr accidentally added an extra ingredient to the concoction: Extreme length.

Helllloooooooo readers! I'm ChristoherWeeblingJr, continuing my one-shot-athon with a story for an underappreciated anime adaption of a beloved cartoon franchise.

Funny story, while I've watched the entirety of Powerpuff Girls Z (possibly multiple times), the same cannot be said for the original Powerpuff Girls. I don't hate the show, I have seen a few of its episodes and specials and liked most of them (particularly the most well-known ones like Twisted Sister and most of the ones involving the Rowdyruff Boys). I've just felt a bit more drawn to the anime version for some reason, either because I'm a weeb or I enjoy having hot takes.
However, I am fairly familiar with some behind-the-scenes trivia about the Powerpuff Girls. And one piece of trivia has left me with a story idea I've wanted to write for years: Did you know that originally, Buttercup was blue and Bubbles was green?

This is also going to be taking elements from a few works from fellow Fanfiction author KCruzer, who has written two fanfictions based on PPGZ. I won't say you need to read them to understand this, but it could help and the Z-Rays Shine Again is a pretty good story. All you need to know is that he introduced his own version of Bunny to the group and made Kasey an orange Powerpuff named Bloom who uses Bullet, a plush squirrel doll, as a weapon. Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup also now have unique powers, which are ice breath, sonic screams, and heat vision respectively. He also gave Mojo a human/monkey hybrid son named Mojo Jr., but he's more here because he comes with the other three.
He also made Dexter from Dexter's lab Blossom's girlfriend, but he's not appearing in this story. I already have two Professors. I don't need a third.

Yes, this is a fanfic based on a fanfic based on an anime adaption of a beloved children's cartoon. Live with it. I tried to ask KCruzer for permission to use his renditions of the characters, but he hasn't responded for over a month.
I'm also going to be trying to emulate his formatting style because I think that will be more fun. So with that out of the way:
"Talking"
'Thinking'
"Communicator, multiple speakers, or emphasis."
Writing
"Attacks, Specials, or Transformations"

"The Powerswap Girls"

Part 1:

The city of New Townsville!... Is obsessed with the latest news. Everyone from the highest business owner to the passerby was reading through newspapers and articles. Just the night before, the town's heroes – the Powerpuff Girls Z – were in exclusive interviews, and everyone wanted to see what they had to say.

"Hey, guys," A middle-school student said before holding the newspaper up to his friends. "Check this one out."

Out of all your villains, which one would you most like to date?
Hyper Blossom: Huh!?
Rolling Bubbles: Uh-what?
Starry Bunny: Now hold on a moment -
Burning Bloom: I'm nine!
Powered Buttercup: Ace.

"I told you guys." The boy said.

"Wow, everyone's really going ga-ga over our interview." Blossom said, looking across the classroom to see everyone gossiping with a news article in their hand.

"Well, what did you expect?" Bunny asked. "They know so little about us. This is probably their only chance to learn anything about our lives."

"I don't think I liked that interview." Bubbles said. "Some of those questions were a little-"

*Slam!*

Before the blonde could continue, Buttercup slammed a newspaper down on her desk, scowling at the blue-eyed girl before pointing to a section. "Care to explain this, Bubs?" Buttercup growled before Bubbles looked down at the paper.

How would you describe your teammates?
Rolling Bubbles: Powered Buttercup... Definitely makes the simplest plans out of all of us. She just hits the problem until it isn't a problem anymore, and she's always so ready to do it, too. She just goes straight in and whacks the bad guys. I guess when all you have is a hammer. *Chuckle*

"... It's... An interview question?" Bubbles asked.

"You made me sound like an idiot!" Buttercup said, jerking towards the girl as she gritted her teeth. "People will think I'm a meathead if they read this."

"I wasn't trying to say that." Bubbles said. "I was trying to say you were straightforward and persistent." Picking up the paper, Bubbles returned the girl's scowl as she pointed to her own section. "Besides, it's not like you made me sound any better."

Powered Buttercup: I always get kinda worried whenever Bubbles is fighting someone. I mean, aside from her scream, she only has that bubble wand, you know? Like, 'Yeah, that dainty little thing is gonna stop Fuzzy Lumpkin. Look out, she'll blow bubbles in his eyes.' But she goes in and fights him anyway and somehow comes out of it.

"You made me sound like a total wimp." Bubbles said.

"I wasn't saying that." Buttercup responded. "I was saying you impress me."

"Well, you could have phrased it better." Bubbles scowled.

"Oh, but Ms. Articulated couldn't make me sound cool?" Buttercup huffed.

"So this is going to be the running theme for the day, is it?" Bunny muttered to herself.

"Can you two keep it down?" Blossom requested, pushing the arguing girls away from each other. "We're in class, remember?"

Buttercup and Bubbles's eyes widened before they looked across the room. Attention had gone to the two girls, with the students and even Ms. Keane staring silently.

"O-oh, don't mind us everyone." Bubbles chuckled.

"Yeah, we're just…" Buttercup began, stretching her syllables before snapping her fingers. "Rehearsing for a play!"

"… What's it called?" Someone asked, causing blue and green eyes to widen again.

"Working Title!" Buttercup blurted out.

Bubbles wanted to facepalm but had to settle for rolling her eyes before the bell rang over them.

"Alright, everyone, time to take your seats." Ms. Keane called out before students shifted around the room. "We have a lot to go over for the finals, so pay attention now."

"Nice one, Buttercup." Bubbles whispered to the raven-haired girl.

"At least this meat-head came up with something." Buttercup whispered back with a scowl. "Unlike a certain person."

"What can I say?" Bubbles shrugged before scowling. "I guess my brain is as dainty as I am."

"I wonder if it's too late to request a new seating position." Bunny muttered to herself.

Before the snarking match could go any further, the girls' belts all started flashing, beeping lightly to get the group's attention. The four all shared a nod before pushing their seat backs to rise to their feet. "Teacher!"

"My stomach is sneezing!"
"I have a throat ache!"
"My nose is sore!"
"I am developing a headache!"

"We're going to the nurse's office." The four concluded before darting to the door. "Bye!"

The group didn't give Keane time to process what they were saying before they started racing to the roof. Along the way, the group was joined by Kasey as they ascended the stairs. "So what was your excuse?" Blossom asked her younger sister.

"I told them my squirrel was feeling sick." Kasey smirked, lifting up the doll as Bullet gave a squeak and a nod.

"… They bought that?" Blossom asked.

Once the girls got to the roof, Blossom pulled her compact out of her belt buckle, flicking it open to reveal the screen to the group. "Alright, Professor, what's the sitch?" Blossom asked. "And make it a long one. It's the last class, and I'm dying to skip."

"It's the Jojos again." The Professor explained before the screen displayed the news feed, revealing Mojo's signature mech rampaging through the city, accompanied by a large fleet of helicopter drones. "They just started an attack with a bunch of drones to assist them."

"Mojo?" Blossom asked.

"We haven't seen him since we all took down Dr. X." Bunny noted. *Presumably how The Magic and Science of Good and Evil by KCruzer will end*

"We're also detecting some odd readings from the main robot." Ken explained before the screen displayed the robot's energy signatures. Each graph was as high as it could go, designated by numbers that broke past one hundred. "Remember that Chemical Z theft we had a few nights ago? I think we just found where it went."

"So he's using it as a power source?" Bubbles asked.

"But why?" Bunny asked as she wrapped her hand around her chin.

"We can figure it out later." Blossom said. "Let's go, girls." The group all shared a nod before Blossom turned back to the communicator. "Poochi, would you do the honors?"

"POWERPUFF GIRLS, WE NEED YOU OOOOO!"

"Hyper Blossom!"
"Rolling Bubbles!"
"Powered Buttercup!"
"Starry Bunny!"
"Burning Kasey!"

"Powerpuff Girls Z!"

"-Wait, 'Burning Kasey?'" Blossom repeated as the transformation sequence ended.

"Oh, yeah, I was thinking." Bloom began. "It's kinda weird that I'm the only one who changes her name, so I was wondering if I could…"

Blossom brought her hand up to her forehead. "Bloom, it's a little late for that, don't ya think?"

"The guy with the watch changes his monster's names all the time!" Bloom argued.

"That was one time!" Blossom retorted.

"Technically four." Bunny clarified.

"Can we just get going?" Buttercup asked before crossing her arms and giving Bubbles a glare. "I mean, what else am I gonna use this hammer for?"

"Oh, I don't know, girls." Bubbles said before wrapping her arms around her staff as she returned Buttercup's glare. "I'm so weak and fragile."

"Can you two give it a rest!" Blossom yelled before taking off. The rest of the team followed suit in streaks of light.

"HA-HA-HA!" Mojo laughed as his robot punched at a building, breaking through its wall in a giant cloud of dust. "Nothing is more fun than destroying human cities!"

"I agree with you, dad," Mojo Jr. said as he commanded the flock of drones, shooting out windows and concrete walls with laser blasts. "But don't you think it's a little early for this? We haven't finished testing the device yet."

"It'll be fine." Mojo waved away his son's concern. "It just needs to work long enough to get rid of those Smelly-Puff Girls." Mojo hunched over his controls, scowling out the window as he grumbled. "Besides, it feels like we haven't done anything in seven years."

"Not!"
"So!"
"Fast!"
"Mojo!"
"Jojo!"
"Chee!"

The chimps both turned to look up into the sky, before spotting the familiar flying silhouettes of their archenemies. "Ah, finally." Mojo said with a grin.

"The Lovely Fighting Legends Of Science, Powerpuff Girls Z!"

"Powerpuff Girls, how nice of you to drop by." Mojo greeted before he clutched at his controls. "After all, this attack was meant for you five!"

"Chee!"

"Sorry, 'six.'" Mojo shrugged before pressing his thumb to a trigger.

The eyes on his mech's torso lit up before arks of lightning raced toward the heroes. As multiple lights darted away, Buttercup's eyes glowed. "Heat vision!" The girl cried out before green beams shot out of her eyes, meeting the lighting before ripping through the energy.

Thrusters on Mojo's mech roared as it jumped out of the way of the attack. Junior mashed buttons on his console before the heli-drones all turned to the heroes, locking onto targets before they began shooting. The girls all darted around each attack before launching ones of their own, causing the flying machines to burst apart like balloons.

"Give up, Mojo!" Blossom yelled, flying around the villain's mech as she threw attacks at its thick metal armor. "We know you broke into the Professor's lab last night! You're putting every last drop of Chemical Z back where it came from!"

"You know, it's funny…" Mojo said before a wide grin spread across his face as he raised his hand. "MOJO INTENDS TO!"

Slamming his hand down on the console, Mojo laughed as the chest of his machine opened, allowing a large claw to shoot out at the pink hero. Blossom darted down, and the claw grabbed nothing but air before it retracted back into the machine. The villain turned his attention to the purple Puff, who let out a yelp as she flew out of the way of the claw.

"I don't see what this-" Bubbles began saying before she darted out of the way of the machine's attack. "Has to do with returning our Chemical Z."

"Less return," Mojo said before smacking the button again. "More take!"

With a burst, the claw shot out of the robot again, and the group of girls scattered out of the way in a mix of colors. Bloom, meanwhile, flew in behind them, holding a glowing Bullet before she screeched to a halt, attempting to dart back as the claw came at her.

"Bloom, look out!" Bubbles and Buttercup yelled as they flew back in, pushing the girl out of the way before the claw latched onto both of them.

"Bubbles, I was handling it." Buttercup said as she and the blue Puff struggled against the claw pulling them into the machine.

"So was I." Bubbles said before the machine closed around them.

The two were left in darkness for but a moment before the chamber filled with light from a machine the two were pulled towards. One half of it glowed green as the other lit up blue. The two girls shared a worried look before feeling a shock run through them.

"Hahaha!" Mojo laughed, almost masking the scream that echoed within his machine. "Two for the price of one!"

"Only three more to go and we finally win!" Junior laughed with his father.

"Chee!"

"Okay, fine," Junior scowled at the squirrel plush. "Three-and-a-half, better?"

"Girls, focus an attack on the machine in that chamber!" Blossom called out. "We need to break that thing now!" Bloom and Bunny gave their leader a nod before the trio shot out.

In arks of colored light, the three flew between and around the remaining drones surrounding them, stomping and whacking them all out of the way. Mojo smirked as the girls came in close before slapping the button again. As another claw shot out at the three, they all flew around it before flying down its cable, staring intently at the machine their teammates were trapped by.

"Shooting Yo-yo!"
"Kendama Cannon!"
"Bullet Volleyball: Spike!"

Pink, purple, and orange energy tore through the air as the girls launched their attacks. Each one struck the machine with as much force as the three could put into them. Green and blue energy leaked out of the machine's cracks before it burst open, letting out a blue and green blast that shot Mojo and Junior's cockpit into the air.

"No, my machine!" Mojo cried as he looked down at the pile of rubble.

"We worked so hard on that!" Junior yelled.

The villains were pulled out of their grief when a blur fell past him. Mojo and Junior looked down to see Bubbles's wand sticking out of the ground before a streak of yellow ran past them. Buttercup's hammer slammed into the ground with a loud bang before Junior spoke up. "Now's probably a good time to run."

"Agreed." Mojo hurriedly said before turning the cockpit around. As the villainous family made their escape, the remaining Powerpuff Girls dropped down to the rubble.

"Bubbles, Buttercup, can you guys hear us?" Blossom asked as she, Bunny, Bloom, and Bullet began digging through the metal remains.

"Just give us a yell or something!" Bloom said as she and Bullet moved another piece.

The digging stopped as a large plane of metal was punched into the air, allowing a column of smoke to rise out of the ground. Two silhouettes rose up from the rubble, coughing and sputtering as they tried to pull themselves out of the black fog.

"You're alright!" Bunny cheered as the two girls stepped forward.

"Of course we are." Buttercup said, and as the smoke cleared, she gave the girl a grin and a thumbs up. "Takes more than that to bring down a Powerpuff."

The group's eyes went wide as the smoke finished clearing before Bubbles grabbed the wand sticking out of the ground. "Come on, Mojo's getting away." Bubbles said as she turned to give chase.

"Right." Buttercup said as she ran to grab her hammer. As Bubbles ran down the street, Buttercup was pulled back, falling on her back as her hammer refused to move. "What the-" The raven-haired girl grumbled as she gave her hammer another tug, finding it still refused to move. "Come on!" Buttercup growled as she got up, putting all her weight into it as she tried to drag the weapon out of its spot.

"Bubbles Catcher!" Bubbles yelled before waving her wand. She came to a stop when she realized nothing was coming out of it, and she looked between the weapon in her hands and the escaping villains before swinging it again. "What's wrong with this thing?"

Buttercup's tugging was brought to a stop when she caught a glimpse of her outfit. Her eyes widened when she saw blues in the place of greens and yellows before she let go of her weapon. She pulled at her skirt and vest as if expecting them to change color before a hand went to her head.

"Oh man," Buttercup said as she ran to a window. "Please tell me we didn't swap bodies again! I don't think I can handle-" The girl's panic was brought to a stop when she saw her reflection, and she pinched her hair for good measure, assuring her it was still black. "Oh, phew, I'm still me…" Noticing a detail amiss, the girl narrowed her eyes as she leaned toward the reflection. "Except, wait… Why are my eyes blue?"

"Guys!" Bubbles called as she flew back to the group. "My wand's not…" Her speech stalled as she saw Buttercup, who turned to be greeted by the sight of Bubbles wearing a familiar green and yellow outfit, with green eyes looking on in confusion.

"Wha…" Bubbles and Buttercup both said before the two lifted their arms to point at the other. "What are you doing in my outfit!?"

"So… To the lab?" Bunny asked.

"Yeah, to the lab." Blossom responded.

"Hm…" Pr. Utonium hummed as he waved the multicolored beam across Bubbles and Buttercup, sitting awkwardly as they glanced between their new outfit and the other's. He took a glance at the screen displaying the reading before bringing a hand up to his chin. "This is most interesting."

"So what's the diagnosis, doc?" Buttercup asked as the beam across her and Bubbles ended.

"First of all, he's a Professor." Ken stated. "And secondly, if those readings are correct, then that means…" Ken looked between the raven- and blonde-haired girls, trying to think of how best to explain it to them. "Then that means you two swapped energy signatures."

"Huh?"
"We what?"

"It's quite simple." Pr. Utonium explained as he gestured to the monitor, displaying a green and blue silhouette of Buttercup and Bubbles. "Instead of building a device to create more monsters, Mojo must have assembled a device to drain you girls of your powers." An image of the device came down, with lines connecting to Bubbles and Buttercup's pictures before the blue and green were drained from them. "When the girls destroyed it, the energy attempted to return to its host, however, in the blast…"

"My powers went to Buttercup and Buttercup's powers went to me?" Bubbles asked as Buttercup's image lit up blue and hers lit up green.

"Exactly." The Professor nodded. "When I scan Bubbles, it reads like I'm scanning Buttercup, and vice versa."

"Phew, and I thought this was something bad." Buttercup said as she leaned back in her seat. "Now, just do your science mumbo jumbo and put our powers back in their right places."

"… I have no idea how." Utonium said.

"All of our attempts to remove your powers were failures, remember?" Ken reminded the group. "How are we supposed to do that overnight, let alone give you them back."

"Would Dexter know how to fix this?" Blossom asked.

"Maybe, but we can't ask him." The Professor stated. "He left on an overseas business trip, remember?"

"So they're really stuck with each other's powers?" Blossom asked.

"We'll see if we can find a way to fix this little mix-up." The Professor said as he turned back to the console. "But it's going to take a while."

"… Eh, no worries." Buttercup shrugged as she hopped to her feet. "I mean, if Bubbles can handle my simple weapon, then I'm sure I can handle hers."

"My bubble wand is way trickier than it looks." Bubbles said with a scowl through her new, green eyes. "And are you sure you can handle such weak powers?"

"Will you two stop already?" Blossom groaned before turning her attention to the Professor. "Is there any way we can speed up the processes?"

"… If Mojo uses that thing again, bring it back to us." Utonium requested.

"In one piece, preferably." Ken added. "We might be able to use it to fix those two."

"In the meantime, I guess we're done for the day." Buttercup sighed as Bubbles stood up before the two pulled out their compacts to de-transform. After the blue and green lights evaporated, Bubbles and Buttercup glanced at each other before the raven-haired girl let out a huff. "You look so wrong with my eye color."

"Likewise." Bubbles nodded.

"… So," Bunny began slowly as she and the rest of the team turned to leave the lab. "What did Buttercup mean earlier about swapping bodies?"

"Long story." Blossom replied. *Powerpuff Girls Z Episode 41-B: Trading Faces. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure that's how I found this series*

"Honestly, do those girls have any respect for how much work we put into these things!?" Junior ranted as he and his father returned to their warehouse. The entire place was littered with potential machines, prototype weapons, and plain piles of scraps. "I bet they think making a new doomsday robot is as easy as snapping your fingers. Oh, if only getting rid of them was as easy!"

"Calm down, son." Mojo placed a hand on Junior's shoulder, surprisingly calm after their defeat. "It wasn't a total loss. I saw the energy readings, the machine was working. We can still drain their powers."

"Once we finish picking up all one-million pieces." Junior huffed as he crossed his arms.

"We still have the prototype." Mojo pointed out.

"Which is bolted to the floor and takes half the town's power grid to run." Junior stated.

"Well, you know what they say:" Mojo began before a determined glint shined in his eye. "If you can't bring doom to the heroes, bring the heroes to their doom."

The Next Day:

"Hey, Bubbles, there's something different about you."
"Yeah, something looks off."
"Are you doing something new with your hair?"

"O-oh, it's nothing." Bubbles waved away at the crowd that formed around her desk. "You all are imagining things."

"No, something's amiss." One of the boys said as he leaned closer to the green-eyed girl. "I just can't put my-"

"Okay, that's enough." Blossom said as she pushed the boy away. "Class is gonna start soon, back to your seats."

"The bell doesn't ring for-"

"Back to your seats!" Blossom repeated before shoving the crowd away.

Once the group was gone, Blossom let out a sigh as she returned to her seat. "So how did you guys handle your families?" The ginger asked the swapped pair.

"I spent most of dinner avoiding looking grandma in the eyes." Bubbles admitted. "I don't think she noticed."

"Eh, my family's not very observant." Buttercup shrugged before pointing to her hair. "I dyed my hair bright purple once, and they didn't notice for like a week."

"When did you do that?" Bunny asked.

"A few months after I met those two." Buttercup said as she pointed back to Blossom and Bubbles. The two girls traded a glance.

"Make way, everyone!"

The four girls almost jumped out of their seats before looking to the front of the class. Princess sauntered in, one hand above her head as the other rested on her hip. She walked down the aisle of desks as though it was a runway. "Your Princess has arrived." The brown-haired girl said.

Buttercup heaved out a sigh before leaning on her elbow. "I thought Princess wanted to be less annoying."

"Have you ever heard the phrase 'one step forward, two steps back?'" Bunny commented.

As the rich girl approached, Bubbles felt her spine straighten as Princess stared her down. "Uh, hey, Princess…" Bubbles began, growing more and more nervous as Princess grew closer. "How are you today?"

"I've been hearing murmurs about something being off about you today." Princess said, and Bubbles swallowed as Princess brought her hand around her chin in thought. "They just won't shut up about it."

"W-well, like I've been saying, it's nothing." Bubbles said as Princess hummed. "Honestly, I think they're just-uh-"

"Are your eyes green?" Princess asked, causing the eyes in question to widen as Princess turned Bubbles's head back towards her.

"Wha-what? No, of course-"

"No, they're definitely green now." Princess stated before glancing at Buttercup. "I thought that was Buttercup's-" Princess's eyes widened as Buttercup glanced away from her before the brown-haired girl took her by the chin and turned her back around.

"Hey, personal space!" Buttercup scowled.

"Are your eyes blue?" Princess asked, glancing back and forth between the raven-haired and blonde girls. "Did you two swap eyeballs or something?"

"Um-" Bubbles began.
"You-you see-" Buttercup stuttered.

"We're performing a social experiment."

"Huh?" The group all asked as they turned to Bunny.

"Bubbles and Buttercup are part of a social experiment for Pr. Utonium." Bunny lied as she held up a finger to explain. "The Professor has them wearing colored contacts to see how many people would notice if their eye color changed."

"… Oh, yeah, that's totally it." Buttercup said, finally slipping out of Princess's grip before she leaned back in her chair. "That makes seven for me, by the way."

"Princess is my third." Bubbles lied before bringing a finger to her chin. "Which is kinda weird considering how I'm always told how pretty I am."

"… Oh, a social experiment." Princess muttered, placing a hand on her chin as the group let out a relieved sigh. Bunny adjusted her glasses with a smirk before Princess held up a finger. "Hang on, I thought Pr. Utonium was a chemist/engineer. Why's he doing a social experiment?"

"He's uh helping a friend." Bunny lied before scrunching her eyes to think of a name. "Roderick… Hardly."

The secret heroes all held their breath before Princess gave a shrug. "Alright, if you say so."

As Princess left for her seat, the group all sighed before Blossom looked at Bunny. "Nice work there." The ginger said.

"I've been thinking it over for a while." Bunny smiled to herself.

The group's belts all started flashing, and the four girls looked down at them before Blossom stood up and rose her hand. "Teacher!" The ginger began yelling. "I-"

"Class hasn't started yet." Bunny noted.

"Oh, right."

"Alright, Professor," Blossom said as she and her team sat on the roof, holding the compact out for the group to see. "What's going on?"

"It's Mojo again." The Professor stated before switching to the news feed. "He's attacking Down-New-Townsville."

"Well, that was faster than anticipated." Bunny commented.

"Are you getting those energy readings again?" Blossom asked.

"No," The Professor shook his head. "It looks like it's just a normal mech this time."

"Oh well." Blossom shrugged. "Maybe we can capture him and get him to fix these two." The ginger gestured to the two swapped girls. "We're on our way." With that, the group all shared a nod. "Alright, girls, ready?"

"Hang on, I just thought of something." Buttercup said, her blue eyes lighting up as she turned towards the blonde girl. "Let me see your compact."

"Okay?" Bubbles said as she held the device out to the girl.

Snatching it out of her hand, Buttercup slapped the blue compact where the green one once was. "There, now we just transform like normal."

"Oh, come on," Blossom said, placing her hands on her hips as she looked between the swapped pair. "It can't be that simple."

"Why not?" Buttercup asked.

"We never tired it before." Bubbles pointed out. "It could work."

Blossom looked between the two once more before letting out a sigh. "Well, I guess it can't hurt to try." She said as Bunny and Kasey reached for their own compacts.

"Hyper Blossom!"
"Rolling Bubbles!"
"Powered Buttercup!"
"Starry Bunny!"
"Burning-"
"Guys, hold up!"
"Stop the transformation sequence!"

The three girls came to a pause, turning their attention to the pair staring down at their devices. "My compact's not working." Buttercup said, scowling as she swiped her ring across the pad.

"Yeah, neither is mine." Bubbles said, doing the same with hers, a more confused glint in her green eyes.

"… Ugh." Blossom let out a sigh, slapping her forehead as she realized what was happening. "Of course, it isn't working. Your energy signatures were switched."

"I guess you guys really can't use your usual compacts." Bunny said, and Buttercup and Bubbles looked at her with wide eyes before turning their attention to each other.

"So… We really need to do this?" Buttercup asked.

"I guess so." Bubbles said, holding her compact out for the raven-haired girl to take.

"Just get it over with." Kasey said, holding up her compact as the swapped pair traded theirs. "Mojo's not gonna beat himself up." Bubbles and Buttercup hesitantly nodded before turning their attention back to their new devices.

"Hyper Blossom!"
"Starry Bunny!"
"Burning Bloom!"
"Rolling-I mean-
Powered Bubbles?"
"Pow-…
Rolling Buttercup?"

"POWERPUFF GIRLS Z!"

"… Yep," Blossom said, glancing at the girls posing next to her as she spoke. "The balance of the pose is all wrong."

"We'll figure it out on the way over." Bubbles suggested.

"Yeah," Buttercup nodded. "Right now, we have a monkey to thrash."

Part 2:

"MWAHAHAHA!" Mojo laughed as he punched at buildings with his mech, creating smoke clouds where concrete once was. "HAHAha… Ha…" The villain looked to his side, cocking a furry brow at the dull look on his son's face. "What's the matter, Jr.? You usually love wreaking destruction."

"Eh, smashing buildings gets old remarkably quickly." Junior shrugged.

"I guess you have a point." Mojo muttered.

"Not!"
"So!"
"Fast!"
"Mojo!"
"Jojo!"
"Chee!"

Mojo felt a grin cross his face as he turned to face the girls. "Ah, right on schedule."

"The Lovely Fighting Legends Of Science, Powerpuff Girls Z!"

"… And somehow, this one is worse." Blossom commented as the girls posed in front of the villain.

"Ah, Powerpuff Girls." Mojo said, his mech raising its giant arms as the villain eyed up his foes. "You… Look different." The machine brought a hand under the cockpit as though to scratch at Mojo's chin. "Did Bubbles and Buttercup get new haircuts?"

"They traded outfits, dad." Junior stated.

"Did they?"

"Yeah, your machine-" Buttercup began, gesturing between herself and Bubbles before scowling. "You do know the difference between us, right?"

"Eh, all you humans look the same to me." Mojo's mech shrugged.

"… You…" Buttercup growled as she clenched her fist.

"Easy Buttercup." Bunny placed a hand on the girl's shoulder. "Remember, we need him to fix you and Bubbles."

"Beat him almost to death." Buttercup nodded. "Got it."

"Now, let's get this show on the road!" Junior said as he smacked a button on his console. Compartments along the mech opened up before rockets shot out of it, leaving trails of smoke as they raced toward the girls.

"I've got this!" Buttercup called out as she readied her staff. "Bursting Bubbles!" With a powerful swing, a cloud of shining spheres shot out and raced toward the attack.

They missed every rocket.

The girls all shared a gasp before they all flew out of the way, letting the rockets collide with buildings and overpasses. Buttercup's attack, meanwhile, blasted apart the buildings surrounding Mojo.

"Nice shot, Buttercup." Bubbles mocked.

"Gimme a break," Buttercup said as she held up her weapon. "This is my first time using this thing."

Mojo gave a laugh as his mech ran in, before jumping up to try and catch the girls. The group all scattered in trails of light, and as the machine fell to the ground, Bunny spun her weapon around.

"Kendama Cannon!"

In a burst of purple energy, the ball shot out at the robot, causing it to stumble back before it found its footing. The hands on the mech retracted, turning into gun barrels that trained on the purple girl before they began firing beams. Bunny returned to the evasive, flying out of the way as the Jojos continued their attempt to shoot her down.

While the apes were distracted, Bubbles flew down behind the robot and readied her new hammer. "Hyper Sonic Swing!"

The hammer struck the air, and a trail of green energy left its glowing head before dissipating into nothing.

Bubbles stared wide-eyed before pulling the hammer back. "Hyper Sonic Swing!" She cried as she attempted the attack again, only for the energy to die just as it did before.

"Not as easy as I make it look, huh?" Buttercup taunted.

Bubbles attempted the attack one more, and she glared at her weapon before she heard the sound of heavy footsteps. She noticed Mojo's mech too late and got smacked down into the pavement.

As the green girl collected herself, she looked up to see the mech lift a foot over her. Blossom's yoyo wrapped around its ankle, pulling it back before it could squash the blonde. The robot lifted one of its cannons, aiming up at the pink Powerpuff, preparing to fire before a bolt of orange smacked it aside.

"Kendama Hammer!" Bunny yelled as she flew in, the cups of her weapon glowing purple before she slammed it into Mojo's mech. A burst of purple shot out of the weapon, throwing the mech away from the green Puff.

"Popping Bubbles!" Buttercup yelled as she threw another cloud of bubbles.

The shining orbs scattered all across the area before they began exploding. Bunny's eyes widened as some got close to her, turning to flee before they popped. The purple girl was launched into the side of a building. Groaning as she pulled herself out, Bunny waved her fist at the blue girl. "I'm on your team!"

"Okay, let's try another one." Bubbles muttered to herself as she lifted her weapon again. "Gyro-Hammer!"

Swinging the weapon, Bubbles spun around on her heels before coming to a stop. She scowled down at the weight before reeling back again. "I said Gyro-Hammer!" Bubbles yelled before attempting the attack again, yielding similar results. "GYRO-HAMM-Woah!"

The girl put far more force into her attack before she got turned into a spinning green top. Her feet dug into the ground like a drill as she spun along the road, making her way toward Mojo's mech. With a rocket-powered jump, the machine hopped over the girl, leaving her to charge into the building behind it. The building toppled over as Bubbles bounced in the other direction, before slamming another building down.

"Bubbles hit the brakes!" Blossom yelled at the blonde.

"I DON'T KNOW HOW!" Bubbles cried as she continued to bounce between buildings.

"Girls, we need to stop her!" Blossom yelled to her team before seeing Bloom and Bullet covering their mouths, barely holding back laughter. "Bloom, Bullet, this isn't a joke!"

"Aw, come on," Bloom shrugged. "It's kinda funny."

"I've got her." Buttercup yelled as she prepared her weapon. "Bubble Catcher!"

With a powerful swing, a cloud of bubbles raced out of the staff's ring. Bloom got caught in the collection and got thrown to the ground. The girl tried to pick herself up, only to find her knees and feet glued to the ground by the popped bubbles.

"Okay, that's less funny." Bloom said before looking up.

Her orange eyes widened when she saw Bubbles barreling toward her. "NOT FUNNY, NOT FUNNY AT ALL!" Bloom yelled as she and Bullet began pulling at her legs, trying desperately to pull herself out of the trap.

"Ice Breath!" Blossom yelled before blowing out a cold blue mist.

A ramp of ice formed in front of the orange girl, and Bubbles slid over it before crashing into a building through the window.

"You know what, I take it back." Junior commented as he and Mojo watched the disaster unfold. "The destruction of cities never gets old!"

As the green Puff banged around the new space, Blossom flew down and froze the adhesive trap, before grabbing the back of Bloom's jacket and pulling her out. The orange girl shook, not just from the cold as Blossom lowed her back to her feet. As Bunny and Buttercup flew in, Blossom looked at the building Bubbles was rampaging through before it collapsed. "Oh, the Mayor's going to be so mad." Blossom grumbled as she facepalmed.

"All of these buildings are empty, right?" Bunny asked, hand covering her mouth as she watched the demolition with wide eyes.

"Don't worry," Bloom began. "New Townsville has great evacuation protocols."

Bubbles stumbled out of the wreckage, finally ending her attack as her eyes spun in their sockets. "Okay, forget the hammer." Bubbles said as she tried to focus on Mojo's mech. "Let's try Heat Vision!"

Her eyes lit up green before hot rays raced out of them. The attack punched a hole in the building next to the robot before it stepped to the side. The beam trailed behind it, cutting the tops off the architecture.

"No, Bubbles, you need to-" Buttercup tried saying, reaching for the blonde's head before Bubbles lost her balance.

Her hammer landed on Buttercup's foot.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

The blue Puff unleashed a pain-filled sonic scream, shattering all the windows around her and throwing her fellow heroes away from her.

"Are we even needed here anymore!?" Junior laughed with his father as they watched the display. "These two are destroying the town for us!"

"Mojo doesn't even remember why we came here!" Mojo laughed before his eyes lit up. "Oh wait, yes he does."

Looking around the area, Mojo's eyes landed on a fancy sports car that was still mostly in tack. The machine reached down to pick it up, and Mojo waved it above his head as he jumped back and forth. "Oh Powerpuff Girls!" Mojo called out. "If you want to get this back, you'll need to catch us!" With that, the machine turned to run away.

Bubbles finally shook off her dizziness as Buttercup hopped on one foot. "Guys, come on." Bubbles called out, gesturing for the team to follow her.

"Mojo's getting away!" Buttercup called out, ready to chase the villain as she followed Bubbles. "We need to get him before he-"

"No!" Blossom called out, throwing her yoyo around the two before pulling them back. "Not you two!"

"What?" Bubbles and Buttercup asked as they turned to face their leader.

"Look around, you guys." Blossom said, gesturing to the disaster area around them. "Ever since you two had your powers swapped, you've been an even worse threat to New Townsville than most of its monsters!"

"It-It's not that bad." Buttercup argued, finding it hard to look her leader in the eye as she and Bubbles were released.

"You two brought down buildings, dug up the road, and almost knocked Bloom's head off her shoulders." Blossom listed off, pointing to each area. "You guys didn't even touch Mojo's mech." She pointed to the blonde in the green suit. "You were a Beyblade of destruction," She then turned her attention to the raven-haired girl wearing blue. "And you were raining death from above!"

"We're sorry, Blossom…" Bubbles mumbled. "We didn't mean to."

"We'll be more careful." Buttercup said. "We promise."

"I know you will." Blossom said, letting out a sigh as she scowled at the swapped pair. "Because you're both going back to the lab to wait for the Professor to fix you two."

"What?!" The blue and green girls yelled.

"You won't stand a chance against that thing without us." Buttercup said, pointing in the direction the villain left in.

"And we definitely won't if you two can't control your powers." Blossom stated, once again causing Bubbles and Buttercup to look away from her. "Just head back home. We'll handle Mojo."

Bubbles and Buttercup glanced between each other, reminding themselves how jarring it was to see their color on their teammate before they both let out a sigh. "Alright." They both said, before flying off with their heads hung low.

"Don't you think you were too hard on them?" Bloom asked her sister as she watched the two leave. "They looked kind of hurt."

"Sometimes leaders need to make the tough choices." Blossom said. "Now come on, we need to stop Mojo."

Following the machine to a warehouse by the docks, Blossom, Bloom, Bullet, and Bunny looked down at the building. The leader wrapped a hand around her chin, contemplating the best entrance. "Looks like we could head in through those windows there." Blossom said.

"Something doesn't seem right." Bunny noted. "Why would Mojo rampage through town just to steal a car?"

"He once tried to destroy the city because he was only given thirty-nine fries." Blossom responded. *Powerpuff Girls Z episode 32: Two Burger-Bots and a Side of Fries* The ginger gestured for the three to follow. "Come on, if we take him by surprise, we might be able to get him."

"Come to think of it," Bunny muttered to herself as the pink and orange Puffs shot down towards the base. "It was remarkably easy to track them here." Before the girl could continue the thought, Blossom's yoyo grabbed her ankle and pulled her down.

Bullet crashed into the window, shattering it before Bloom, Blossom, and Bunny all darted into the building. "Alright, Mojo Jojo, you and your son-!"

The ginger stopped as she looked across the dark room. Aside from the mech in the corner, there was no sign that the villains were there. "Are not here?"

"Maybe they're just hiding." Bloom suggested.

"Stay on your toes everyone." Blossom said before she and the group floated into the room, all readying their weapons.

They all scanned the room around them, confirming there was nowhere for Mojo or his son to hide before they heard a muffled clang. Glancing in its direction, the four heroes were greeted by a slightly ajar door.

Approaching it, Blossom pulled it open and peered into a room that seemed to be filled with nothing but blackness. The group tightened their grips on their weapons as they floated in, trying to make out anything through the shadows before Bunny patted down the walls.

"No light switch." The brunette shook her head.

"Did anyone bring a flashlight?" Bloom asked as she and Bullet kept glancing around the shadows.

"Should talk to the Professor about that." Blossom mused.

Before the girls could go any further in, the lights flashed on around them, causing them to flinch before they heard something slam down around them. Finally opening their eyes, the four Powerpuffs found themselves in a large glass dome. The roof of it began humming, and the girls looked up to see a mechanism glow to life with pink, purple, and orange lights.

The three let out pain-filled cries as energy raced through them, struggling to stand before they fell to their knees. Thick cables lit up with all their colors as they dragged the power to the machine at the other end of the room. Mojo and his son let out triumphant laughs, almost masking their victims' screams.

It was a struggle, but Blossom managed to reach her compact.

"Hyper-Sonic Swing!"

Bubbles swung her hammer again, watching as the green energy dissipated after leaving the glowing weapon, not even coming close to hitting the target. "Come on," Bubbles said with a sigh as she lifted the weapon to look at it. "You know how you're supposed to work."

"Bursting Bubbles!"

Buttercup whipped her staff around, unleashing a furry of bubbles that flew down at her target. The attack dug into the ground, tarring up dirt and rocks, and even knocked branches out of a tree, all while leaving the target completely untouched. "How does she aim these things?" Buttercup asked as she straightened herself, preparing to fire another attack.

Hearing Bubbles yelling, Buttercup glanced at the blonde to see her swing her weapon again, once again failing to hit the target. As Bubbles prepared to throw another shot, Buttercup cocked an eyebrow at her as she failed to attack again. "You're not swinging hard enough." Buttercup said.

"Huh?" Bubbles asked as the raven-haired girl approached her.

"You're being too gentle." Buttercup said as she displayed the motion with her staff. "You need to put more force behind it, otherwise it doesn't do anything."

Bubbles looked at the bulky head of her weapon before looking back at the target as she winded up. Before she could take a swing, however, Buttercup held the weapon in place. "And dig your heels in." Buttercup instructed. "It'll help keep you stable."

"Okay." Bubbles nodded as she did what she was told. Once Buttercup let go of her weapon, she focused on the target across from her before bringing the weapon around. "Hyper-Sonic Swing!"

In a flash of green, energy raced out of the weapon before it tore through the target. Bubbles let out a chuckle as she hopped up, green eyes shining at the display. "Wow, I did it!"

"It's pretty much the same for the rest of my attacks." Buttercup said before turning back to her target. "Just keep a good footing and you should be good."

As Buttercup wound up to throw her own attack, Bubbles grabbed the wand in her hand. "You have the opposite problem, by the way." Bubbles explained. "You're putting too much force into it. You can't control the bubbles it creates."

"How else are they gonna get there?" Buttercup argued.

"The bubbles want to go where you want them to, but they can't if you don't let them." Bubbles said, stepping away from the girl to display the movement. "Just try being gentle. Don't swing, gesture."

"Gesture…" Buttercup muttered to herself before looking back at the target. Winding up significantly less than before, Buttercup waved her weapon in the direction of the bullseye. "Bursting Bubbles!"

Shining orbs of energy left the weapon's ring, flying into the target before exploding, blasting it to pieces. A smirk crossed Buttercup's lips before she gave the display a fist pump. "Finally." Buttercup said as Bubbles turned back to her own targets. "… Hey, I'm…" Buttercup began, and Bubbles glanced back at her before she continued. "I'm… Sorry about calling your powers… Weak in that interview…"

"It's okay." Bubbles nodded. "And… I'm sorry I called yours simple."

"Eh, it's fine." Buttercup said.

The conversation came to a halt when the two heard their belts beep at them. "Must be Bloss." Buttercup shrugged before flicking open her compact. "Yo, you finished with Mojo al-"

"Help…" Blossom grunted, biting back a yell as she squeezed an eye shut. The echoes of Bunny, Bloom, and Bullet's screams filled the other end of the call. "… Please…"

Bubbles and Buttercup gave a gasp before the blonde's compact started flashing. "What? Where are you?"

Bubbles flicked open her compact and was greeted by the face of the Professor. "Girls, we're detecting extreme energy usage in a warehouse by the docks."

"Then that's where we're heading." Buttercup nodded before closing her device.

"But we've only just figured out our powers." Bubbles pointed out.

"We don't have time to wait around." Buttercup said before turning. "Come on!" With that, the girl took off in a flash of blue. Bubbles gave a nod before following after her.

"HAHAHAHA!" Mojo cackled as he watched the display, straining his eyes against the light as the captured Powerpuffs fell to the floor. "Yes, it's working!" Mojo gave a clap before he turned to face his son at a console. "How long until they're drained?"

"Another few minutes." Junior responded as he watched the readings. "We're only at 11%."

Mojo gave another chuckle to himself as he pumped his fists. "Hehehe, I can't believe it. We are going to win!"

"You… Haven't…" Blossom groaned, lifting herself up enough to glare at the villain. "Won yet…"

"Oh, really?" Mojo asked, kneeling down to return the stare. "And who's going to stop us?"

Before he could continue gloating, the roof exploded, sending down concrete and metal. The villain jumped away from the destruction before looking up at the new hole in the sky.

"Not so fast!"
"Mojo Jojo!"

"… Eh-hem." Junior coughed.

"And son." Buttercup and Bubbles sighed.

"Better."

"Oh, great." Mojo chuckled. "If it isn't Butters and Boublecup. Here to fail to stop me again?"

"Hardly." Buttercup growled.

"We're winning this time." Bubbles announced as she and Buttercup landed.

"This ought to be good." Mojo muttered as he cracked his fists. Junior leaped from the console, jumping into the Robo-Mojo's cockpit. It lumbered to life as it and Mojo approached the two girls.

"You take Mojo," Bubbles whispered as she lifted up her hammer. "I'll handle Junior."

"Got it." Buttercup nodded before readying her weapon. 'Remember, gesture.'

"Bursting Bubbles!"

With a wave, a cloud of bubbles leaped out of the wand. The captured Puffs instinctively covered their heads before hearing explosions. Mojo was thrown across the room by the blast and slammed into the wall before he gritted his teeth.

Junior growled as he ran forward before Bubbles jumped towards him, swinging her glowing hammer at the machine. In a blast of green energy, the villain was thrown towards a corner of the room, falling over before Bubbles lifted her weapon above her head.

'Remember, dig in your heels,' Bubbles thought as her weapon glowed. 'Put force into it-'

"Graviton Drive!"

The hammer met the concrete floor, and green energy raced through the ground before blasting Junior into the ceiling. Bubbles pumped her fist at the display of power before she charged at the machine again.

"Roto-Mojo!" Mojo yelled as he jumped at the girl in blue, turning into a dark disk as he spun like a saucer.

Buttercup ran forward before sliding under the attack, turning to face the animal before readying her wand. "Popping Bubbles!" The girl yelled as she swung her weapon again, creating another cloud of bubbles that surrounded Mojo before they started bursting. Mojo was thrown between each orb before he was slammed into the ground. "Bubble Catcher!"

Swinging her weapon again, Buttercup threw a larger bubble at the villain, only for Mojo to jump into the air, leaping over it before he pulled a fist back. Buttercup jumped back before the villain began unleashing punch after punch, pushing the girl further back before she took in a breath.

"Sonic SCREAM!"

With a loud cry, Mojo was thrown away from the girl, slamming against the dome before sliding down to his feet.

Junior leaned out of the way of Bubbles's attack before reeling a fist back, smacking the girl away before opening a compartment on the mech's arm. A cannon rose up from its wrist, and Bubbles jumped out of the way of its beam before pivoting on her foot.

"Hypersonic Swing!" The blonde yelled as she launched a burst of energy at the mech. Junior was thrown back again before he dug the machine's hand into the ground. Jets burned to life before the robot launched at Bubbles, managing to slam her into the wall. Before she could fall, Junior grabbed the head of the hammer and used it to hoist the girl up to look him in the eye.

"What good does that hammer do you now?" Junior taunted.

"Well, not a lot." Bubbles shrugged before her eyes started glowing. "But how about… Heat Vision!"

Rays of green shot out of the girl's eyes, cutting through the robot's arm like a knife through butter. The hammer slammed to the floor as Junior stumbled back before Bubbles spun around. "Gyro-Hammer!" The girl turned into a green top before smashing the hammer into the robot's chest. Chunks of metal got torn off before Junior fell into the attack's path.

The boy was thrown across the room, slamming into his father before the two smashed into a pile of scraps. As the two collected themselves, Buttercup and Bubbles traded a glance. "Would you like to do the honors?" The raven-haired girl asked.

"Gladly." Bubbles nodded before lifting her weapon above her head again. "Graviton Drive!"

Slamming the glowing head into the ground, another wave of green raced through the ground before exploding under the Jojos. The villains broke through the ceiling and flew into the sky, leaving behind a smoking trail as they soured across the town.

"Bye-bye, Mojo!" Bubbles called out.

"And son!" Buttercup added before patting Bubbles on the shoulder. "Nice work, Bubbs."

"You too." Bubbles nodded.

"Um… Girls…"

Bubbles and Buttercup turned back to the dome. The rest of the Powerpuff Girls were still trapped inside, finally having collapsed. The two heroes gasped before running over to the machine.

"Don't worry, we'll get you girls out of there." Bubbles yelled as she lifted her weapon. "Megaton Dunk!" The blonde slammed her weapon into the machine, striking it with as much energy as she could put into the attack.

*BOOM!*

All of the windows on the building were blown out before smoke rose from the new holes. Bubbles and Buttercup coughed as they picked themselves up. "You know, Bubbles," Buttercup began as she rubbed at her sore head. "I'm pretty sure that thing had an off button."

"Yeah, well, when all you have is a hammer…" Bubbles began, pointing to the weapon in her hand as the smoke cleared.

Once they were able to see again, Bubbles's eyes widened when she realized Buttercup was holding up her hammer, dressed in her green and yellow dress once again. "Hey, you got your outfit back!"

"So did you!" Buttercup exclaimed, pointing to Bubbles's blue dress and bubble wand. "I guess that blast must have swapped us back."

"Terrific." Bunny chimed in from the wreckage of the machine, groaning as she picked herself up. "Now all I need is an aspirin, and we can call this a happy ending."

The brunette winced as she dusted herself off before she turned to look at Bubbles and Buttercup, who stared back at her with wide eyes and agape mouths. "What?" Bunny asked as Bloom lifted herself up.

Letting out a groan of pain, Bloom turned to Bunny before her own eyes widened. "That's my outfit!"

"Huh?!" Bunny gasped as she looked down at herself. Sure enough, she was dressed head to toe in orange. She turned back to Bloom before giving another gasp, pointing to the younger girl. "And that's Blossom's!"

"Ugh, really?" Bloom complained as she looked herself over. "I hate this color!"

"Cheep, cheep!" Bullet said as she jumped onto Bloom's shoulder, dressed in Bunny's purple outfit.

"Oh, you have got to be kidding me!" Bunny groaned as she placed a hand on her temple.

"Hang on," Buttercup said before pointing to Bloom. "Pink, orange, purple…" The girl counted off as she pointed to each girl in their new color. "What did Blossom…"

The girl was interrupted by the shifting of rubble before the Powerpuff Girls' leader stood up. Everyone stared at her with wide eyes, and Buttercup and Bloom puckered their lips as they looked to the ground.

"BWAH-HAHAHAH!"

The green and now-pink Puffs fell back laughing before Blossom looked down at herself. Instead of the usual Powerpuff uniform, the ginger found herself in a squirrel-themed onesie, with a large, bushy tail brushing against her hair. After a moment, Blossom gave a groan. "Chee. My. Life."

Notes:

I know I probably got a few of the moves wrong in this, but in my defense, it's been a while since I last saw Powerpuff Girls Z, and I'm not about to shift through all 52 episodes just to remind myself what each attack was.

I sprinkled in a few references here and there, and there are two that I feel need explaining:
-The first is when Mojo commented that it felt like they haven't done anything in seven years. This is a joke about how long it's been since KCruzer last updated The Magic and Science of Good and Evil.
-The second one is when Buttercup said she once dyed her hair purple. This is a reference to KCruzer's Deviantart, where he has repeatedly drawn Buttercup with bright purple hair, at one point even claiming it is (Which it isn't, check your monitor settings).

I wanted to include a line where Bunny suggests they have one of them go Super (Another element from KCruzer's story) to deal with Mojo, only for Blossom to shoot that idea down because if they did, Mojo would never let them live it down. But I couldn't think of a good place for it.
I also made Bunny way more snarky and deadpan than she ever was in KCruzer's story. I just really like that kind of characters and I think it works well for her.

I had written out a few scenes for this story before I decided to officially commit to completing it. These included the initial argument between Bubbles and Buttercup, most of the first fight with Mojo and the talk with the Professor, the attempt at transforming, Bubbles and Buttercup being sent home, and the two girls training with their new powers. Most of the writing process here was spent tying all these scenes together. After that, it was all about the final fight and finishing the story. In total, this story went from around 4000 words to almost 10,000.

And in spite of my joke about 'extreme length' at the start of this, that's actually around the average word count for each of KCruzer's chapters of either of his stories.

So normally KCruzer would end off his chapters by talking about news concerning Cartoon Network or some sort of rant. I wasn't originally going to do either because I don't really have much to talk about. Typically, I'm the last person to hear about any behind-the-scenes news. So I thought that me trying to say anything would be a little pointless. However, there is one event from last year that I feel doesn't get talked about enough:

News: Bleedman, writer and artist for the Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi and Grim Tales From Down Bellow, is transphobic.
Back in June or July of 2022, I found out through tumblr about posts Bleedman made on his Deviantart account mocking and insulting the transgender actor Elliot Page. One of them flat-out stated that Bleedman believes that transgender superheroes 'should stay fictional.' He also made a comparison to putting pineapples or other such fruits on pizza or something, a metaphor that completely falls apart because pizzas use tomato sauce.
These posts have since been deleted, possibly due to backlash, and the only tumblr blog that I know had pictures of these posts has since been deleted. Thankfully, though, an anonymous user sent a tumble blog named 'deviantartdramanow' a link to an archive of a google search, with the first result revealing one of Bleedman's posts calling transsexuality 'nothing more than just another form of narcissism and insecurity.'
Since then, I have stopped reading his webcomics. It wasn't that hard a decision to make, honestly. Even ignoring hiatuses, his stories have been taking entirely too long. The Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi has spent most of its runtime by that point spinning its wheels, not really making any progress towards any kind of ending. Grim Tales, meanwhile, had the opposite problem; it finished up the story it wanted to tell, and then it just kept going and going and going, all with no clear end-goal.

With that said, I hope you all enjoyed it, and I'll see you all in my next project.

GoodBYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEE READERS!
