Chapter Text
Chloe waited for the Marinette in her room. Despite arriving an hour earlier, she'd been waiting for most of that time. For some dumb reason, Ms. Bustier decided to pair her with Marinette for an assignment. It was ridiculous. Some would say utterly ridiculous. She was that some.
She decided that, if Marinette was gonna be taking her sweet time, she might as well look around her room.
She rummaged through her closet first. While she mocked Marinette's sense of fashion, she was actually kind of impressed at her selection. It was full of colors and patterns that Chloe hadn't seen before. And the real kicker, most of it was hand made.
Another thing she noticed was a small piece of paper on the floor of the closet.
She picked it up and gasped. It looked like a letter to her. The writing was messy, it was written in colored pencil, and the paper was stained and faded. It was old, quite old.
She read over it and soon found herself blushing over the words. It wasn't just a letter, it was a love letter. Some time ago, Marinette was in love with her. Chloe wasn't appalled by the idea, more confused. Why did she love her? When did she stop? What made her stop?
As her mind raced, she heard someone walk up the ladder. She stuffed the letter in her pocket before rushing back to Marinette's bed.
"Sorry for being late," Marinette said with an exhausted huff "My Parents wanted to make some macrons for us to eat while we work and I decided to help".
"W-well that's great" Chloe stammered. It wasn't lost on Marinette.
"Woah, Chloe, are you okay?" She said as she placed on the plate of baked goods on the bed.
"No. I mean yes. I'm perfectly fine" Chloe said with a nervous smile. Marinette, while concerned, shrugged and they began to do the assignment. As Marinette wrote down the first part of the assignment, Chloe messed the paper in her pocket.
Marinette hears the noise and asks her what that was. Chloe told her it's nothing, still fidgeting with the paper. "Seriously, it's kind of annoying" Marinette said bluntly. Chloe, again, said it was nothing. Marinette huffed before a smirk crosses her face.
"Hey Chloe, do you want any soup?" Marinette said. Chloe immediately recoiled in disgust, allowing time for Marinette to grab the paper from Chloe's pocket. She chuckled before gasping as she realized what Chloe had.
"Marinette, please. I didn't want to find it. I was just bored and-".
"Chloe" Marinette said with a serious tone before blush overtook her face "Pleasegonowitsnothingjustadumbnotepleaseleaveimsorry-".
Chloe placed a finger on Marinette's mouth "Marinette, please".
Marinette took a breath before saying "It's a dumb note. Please just forget it".
"I'm not gonna forget it. Just tell, what is this?" Chloe said sternly.
Marinette sighed and looked at the paper again "When I was in 5th grade, I figured out I was Bisexual. How? Well, from you. I know it sounds cringey but it's true. During the most of middle school, I wanted to be with you. It's one of the reasons I never fought back from you bullying me". Chloe gasped a bit as the memories flooded of that time, how Marinette would just ignore her taunts with a blush. "Around this time, I wrote this letter and wanted to give it to you. Then, one day, I just realized you were not a nice person".
Chloe raised an eyebrow but Marinette continued "I've had suspicions for a while but I realized during Christmas. Mainly when a similar story made it's round on the internet. I was trapped in a same loop as that girl. So, I broke free. It took some time but, now, it should be dead. The killing blows was my friendship with Alya and my crush on Adrien. It allowed me to leave this behind" She said, holding the paper up.
Chloe was stunned but also saddened. She was bitch, yes, but she didn't it was that bad. Any anger of the situation was replaced with remorse as she looked at her hands.
She's become her mother, and not in a good way.
"Just forget this and let's get back to the assignment" Marinette sighed out as she began to write again.
Like a fog had been lifted, she's realized how bad she fucked up in life. She was able to change for a bit but now she was back to square one. From the lies to getting someone fired. She even worked with a fucking terrorist. Chloe decided that was going to change.
"Marinette, is there a way to ignite that flame again?" She said, readying herself for something stupid.
Marinette stopped and half heartedly shrug "I don't know. Maybe something big but I don't think it's coming ba-".
Before she could finish, Chloe grabbed her cheeks and kissed her. Marinette was stunned as Chloe released her from her hands. "Was that big enough?".
She blushed. Blushed. The crush she once stomped to oblivion was back and roaring. "Yeah, but let's take it slow". Chloe giggled before kissing her again.
"You let this genie out" She said before turning to the paper "Let's finish this thing before we do anything". Marinette nods before turning as well. They worked at break neck paces that night, hoping to finish before the clock runs out on their night.
"Are sure this is a good idea?" Marinette asked as they up to the class door.
"Marinette, I promise it will be fine" Chloe said with a smirk. They opened the door holding hands.
What Marinette expected was gasps or accusation of blackmail. What they were greeted with a "BOOYAH, I WIN".
Kim stood up before yelling "Alright, give it up".
Some of the classmates shook there heads. "We never agreed to that bet" Mylene said with a timid voice.
"Bet?" Chloe said "What bet?",
Before Max or Nino could silence him, Kim said "A bet of if you two were gonna get together". The duo blushed as he laughed "And I won, now I get money. I also made a bet of if Alix and Adrien were gonna date as well".
On queue, the duo walked in with Alix resting her head on Adrien's shoulder. "AND TWO FOR TWO" Kim celebrated, startling the lovers.
Marinette sighed as she sat down and watched Chloe and Alix confront Kim for this bet while Adrien tried to mediate. She smile 'This is gonna be a fun'.
