The two were at the mall. Logan asked Zoey out on a date the day before. She was wearing a long dark purple dress, her usual black jacket and a skull necklace. He had a t shirt that looked like a suit, baggy shorts and, of course, his blue cap put backwards - as for some reason he could never leave his house without it. They were just walking and talking about whatever, ranging from ordinary school junk to recent dream world shenanigans.
Zoey then stopped in front of a store. It was a Hot Topic. She grabbed his hand and the two dark haired girls walked inside the store. "What are we doing here?' Logan asked, surprised at the sudden change of direction they were going to. The store was playing its usual "emo music" and there were a lot of kids their age or older. Logan continued:
"Shouldn't we get drinks or...."
"Actually, i made a quick stop here to get something for us." Zoey said, before turning around to look at the various shelves of accessories. Logan let her look for whatever she wanted while he looked around the store itself. The walls were full of posters and merchandise of popular rock bands. He only knew a few of them, some which he liked the music of.
"So what'cha wanted to get?" he asked curiously. "Matching earrings." she said, picking up a piece of cardboard with multiple sets of earrings attached to it. The earrings varied from crosses to skulls with roses adorning them. She put the left side to his ear to see he would look. His cheeks started getting hot. Suddenly the question popped in his mind: "Were his ear lobes even pierced?". Well he thought that his moms must have took him to get them pierced a long time ago, since he remembers wearing a pair of small sparkly earrings at events when he was younger. But is it possible for them to somehow grow back?
"Logan?' she interrupted his thoughts. He finally remembered they were in a store. He grabbed his wallet from his pocket and insisted he pay for them since he asked her out in the first place.
They were now sitting on a bench in the middle of the large mall. She took one of the aforementioned rose skull earrings and put it on his left ear. He took out his phone to see how he looks.
And then, he looked at her. She was so pretty. The earring made her dark makeup pop. Looking at her made him flustered. She was like a fallen angel who picked him out of all of the mortals on earth. "You look...gorgeous.." was all Logan could say, still looking at her so lovingly.
She was aware of how flustered he was, and she could admit that he looked cute. Zoey leaned into the other girl's salmon lips. Holding his face before pulling off. Her dark red lipstick smeared onto his lips and his face was as red as the roses on the earrings. She giggled at his reaction and shortly after he laughed too.
"Do you wanna get some smoothies or something? I know a place." he suggested. She nodded yes. They got up and held hands their way there, like those corny couples you would see outside.
