Too bad it’s a bad gift.

Chapter Text

Fairy tales tell, as their labels imply, stories of magic, and people who fly.

With giants and dragons and ogres and elves and inanimate objects that speak for themselves.

There’s romance and danger, and plotting of schemes.

There's good guys and bad guys, and some guys in between.

A fairy tale also reveals some sort of truth, the perils of choices we face in our youth.

But our story today is different in theme, for our hero had no choice, or so it would seem.

As strange as it sounds, it’s true.

It starts with a fairy bestowing a spell.

This one is for Anne Boonchuy of Wartwood.

In a house in the town of Wartwood, a baby girl with light brown skin and brown curls on her head sobbed in her crib.

”Now, now Anne, mamas here.” Her mother Oum confronted walking into the nursery with a woman with dark blue hair following behind.

”There now.” Oum sighed picking up Anne in her arms as her baby began to calm down. “Oh sweetheart.”

”Oh it’s nothing a little burping won’t cure it.” The household fairy Olivia said.

Olivia then faced the changing station and flicked her wrist, for a burping rag to float up a little.

“All the way!” Olivia commanded annoyingly, only for the rag to flow over on Olivia’s face. Olivia sighed as she removed the rag from her face.

Oum smiled at her friend, today her daughter Anne was going to receive a gift from a fairy, who would be here any moment.

All of sudden, the room began to shake a little with a pink whirlwind surrounding outside of the house.
“Hello ladies!” A female voice called through the air.

“Leif!” Oum and Olivia panicked looking at each other.
“Oh no, she gives the worst gifts!” Olivia fretted.

”Not if she can’t find her!” Oum announced. The two woman then hided the baby in the closet away from the fairy.

Pink smoke came through the room, and a woman with ginger hair wearing a brown cloak with a pink gown appeared in the room.

“Leif here, fairy par excellence.” Leif smiled, Oum and Olivia awkwardly smiled back, hoping she wouldn’t find Anne.

“Now where’s the baby?” Leif asked.

“At her grandmothers.” Oum lied.

“Out for a walk.” Olivia said at the same time as Oum.

Oum and Olivia looked at each other.

“Out for a walk.”

”At her grandmothers.”

The two woman went silent.

“She’s walking at her grandmothers.” Olivia lied. Leif raised an eyebrow, not believing the other fairy.

“Either way, as you can see, Anne is not here.” Oum smiled awkwardly.

A faint cry came from the closest, Leif flicked her wrist and the closet door opened, revealing Anne hooked onto a door hook by her blanket.

”Oh look she’s back.” Olivia remarked innocently.

Leif then took the baby in her arms. “Alright, what should we give this sweet little child today? Anne was it? Anne of Wartwood.” The fairy smiled as Anne cried in her arms.
Oum and Olivia glanced worryingly at each other.

“Not a very well-behaved little stinker, is she?” Leif remarked, she then began to get annoyed at Anne’s sobs. “Quiet, please. l can't concentrate here.” An idea then came to Leif.

“Anne Boonchuy of Wartwood, I give you the gift of obedience.” She snapped her fingers, a hiss of pink smoke coming from her fingertip.
Olivia and Oum looked at the baby, in fear of what the fairy had just done to the poor girl.

“Now, go to sleep!” Leif commanded. Anne immediately fell asleep, the fairy smiled.
“Now wake up!” Anne opened her eyes, almost like she had heard the fairy in her sleep.

Oum and Olivia stared in horror of the baby obeying to the fairy.

“Isn’t it wonderful?” Leif asked the woman.

“No! It’s terrible! It’s a terrible gift to have to do what you’re told!” Olivia protested. “Take it back!”

”I have a no return policy.” Leif firmly replied. “And if you’re going to be ungrateful, I can always turn her into a frog.”

“No! Obedience is a lovely gift!” Olivia quickly said. Oum smiled in fake agreement.

“Good. Besides, you should thank me. I have given you the perfect child!” Leif proudly proclaimed holding up Anne.

In spite of the spell, Anne grew strong of mind.
The spell made her obedient, but her heart made her kind.

But that didn’t mean Anne didn’t have some incidents due to the curse.

At Wartwood Elementary school, the kids in second grade played on the playground.

“Why don’t you go back to where you came from?” A girl with brunette hair asked an Asian girl with raven hair.

“Yeah, Marcy? What a stupid name?” A girl behind the brunette agreed.

The brunette then pushed Marcy to the sand box.

“Nobody wants you here!” The brunette laughed.

“I do!” Anne, eight years old, said firmly.

“Bite me!” The brunette smirked.

Anne immediately bit the brunettes left arm, causing the girl to scream and run.

Marcy laughed at the brunettes fear and pain. Anne smiled at the Asian, even though she had no idea why she bit the girl.

Anne then helped Marcy up.
“I’m Anne Boonchuy.”
“Marcy Wu.”

Anne blew the candles on her cake at her ninth birthday. Her friends, including Marcy, cheered and clapped.

“I made your favorite.” Olivia told the girl. “So dig in and stuff your face.”
Olivia then walked away. “I’m going to get forks.”

Olivia didn’t realize the effects of her words as Anne began pulling her cake apart and shoving pieces into her mouth, making the other kids laughed.

Oum turned around and noticed her daughter stuffing her face with cake. “Sweetie! Stop!” She yelled, Anne obeyed and stopped eating, having no idea why she had pulled apart her cake like that.

That night, Oum and Olivia sat with Anne on her bed, the two woman finally admitted to Anne the secret they had been keeping from Anne and everyone else since she was a baby.

“I always knew something was wrong with me.” Anne admitted, hugging her knees to her chest. She turned to Olivia. “Can’t you take the spell back? You are a fairy.”

“I wish I could dear, but I’m only a household fairy.” Olivia explained, feeling sad for the young girl. “Besides, according to fairy guidelines, only the fairy who gave you the gift can take it back and believe me when I said we have begged her.”

“Not only that, but she said she’d turn your mother into a frog and take away my magic if we’d ever ask again.”

“It’s not fair.” Anne sniffed, trying but failing to hold back her tears as she leaned against her mothers shoulder.

Oum wrapped her daughter into a hug, she wiped away her tears. “I know honey, I know.”

So now Anne had knew why she always obeyed, but she never stopped fighting to have things her way.

But as she struggled to find a way out of her gift, she had no way of knowing something worst was to come.

As time passed, Oum began to grow ill, with a sickness that the doctors confirmed she would never be able to cure.

“Mom, there has to be a way for you to get better!” Ten-year old Anne pleaded crouching down at her mother and fathers large bed, with Oum laying down in the center of it as she held onto Anne’s hand.

Oum smiled weakly at her daughter. “Listen to me Anne, only Olivia and I know about the gift. We never told your father.”

This surprised Anne a little, but continued listening to her mother.

“And you must never tell anyone else, we don’t want anyone using it against you.”

Anne felt her shoulders go back, a thing she did when she would obey someone. “Mother, please!”

Oum held onto Anne’s hand tighter. “Remember, no matter what anyone says or tells you to do, look to yourself Anne. What’s inside you, is strong then anything else.”

Anne sniffed, holding back tears for her mother. The sick woman then removed the blue butterfly necklace she was wearing around her neck, something she would always wear.

“Take this,” Oum said putting the necklace into Anne’s hand, she put Anne’s other hand over her palm with the necklace.
“Keep this to remember me by. Then I will always be with you.”

Anne nodded as her mother drifted off to sleep.

“I promise mom…”

Sadly, Oum did not get better, and passed a week after.

As depressed as Anne was, she kept her promise to her mother, and stayed strong. No matter how many times she would be forced to obey, she stayed true to herself.

About eight years later, when Anne was eighteen, she put on her butterfly necklace as she looked in the mirror. Anne wore a dress with a white shirt with short puffed sleeves and a blue skirt with a brown belt with a red sash attached to it.

“Anne,” Olivia said coming through her door. “Your father wants to speak with you.” Anne nodded and made her way down the stairs, unaware of what her father would tell her would change everything.

“You’re married!?” Anne yelled in shock standing up from her seat.

”She has money Anne, and she’s very fond of my title.” Her father, Bee explained.

Anne narrowed her eyes at this, she couldn’t decide whenever to be annoyed or angry at the fact her father had randomly gotten married behind her back.

”It was either get married or sell the house.” Bee tried to assure taking Anne’s hand in his. “You’ll love Dame Parisia and her daughters, she’ll make a great mother.”

Anne looked down, not liking the idea of someone replacing Oum.

“Okay, well, a mother-like figure.” Bee corrected noticing his daughters expression.
“Look, I’m sure you’ll all be the best of friends.“

Anne took a deep breath. “Okay dad.” She smiled.

A few days later, a yellow taxi carriage rode up in front of the Boonchuy’s house.
A woman with red hair and light skin stepped out of the carriage and sneered at the house before me.

“There has to be some mistake! You must have gotten the address wrong because this is not a castle!” She yelled at the footman.

At the door, Bee along with Anne and Olivia approached the woman.

“Parisia my dear!” Bee greeted hugging his wife, kissing both her cheeks. “Welcome to my home.”

He looked at the two teens behind Parisia.
“And these must be your lovely daughters!”

Parisia immediately covered up her disappointment and anger as she gestured over to her daughters.
“Yes my precious Maggie and my special Gabby.”

Maggie had ginger hair tied into two braids and wore a bright yellow dress, she curtsied hostly at her new step-father.

Gabby had her ginger hair tied into a ponytail and wore a baby blue dress, and curtsied a little more enthusiastically at her new step-father.

Parisia then turned to Anne. “Oh, and you must be Anne. Your father speaks frequently of you.”

“Pleased to meet you.” Anne curtsied with a smile, trying to be polite.

“Yes…Bee, the house looks divine, but I thought you said you lived in a castle?” Parisia asked her husband, hiding her anger.

“No, I said a man’s house is his castle.” Bee corrected.
“Oh…” Parisia said in disappointment.

Anne then approached her new stepsisters. “Hi.” She smiled as best as she could. “Welcome to Wartwood.”

The two sisters didn’t even respond, and Maggie just sneered at Anne.
Anne attempted to smile once again, trying to be friendly.

Later, Anne showed Maggie and Gabby their new bedroom. Gabby pulled out all of her dresses, which were all very colorful and big. Meanwhile, Maggie hanged up posters of a woman all over the walls.
Anne recognized the woman in the posters. Princess Sasha Waybright, daughter of former King David and niece of Sir Xavier.

“So, what’s with all the princess posters?” Anne asked Maggie.

”Maggie’s the president of the Princess Sasha fan club!” Gabby squealed bouncing on her bed.

“Um, you know Princess Sasha and her uncle are responsible for the segregation of the kingdom right?” Anne asked.

Ever since Xavier had took control of the kingdom after his brother King David died, he had enslaved the giants to do work for the kingdom, and made elves the source of entertainment for humans.
Anne was strongly against this balance, and Xavier and Sasha in general.

“So? She’s dreamy.” Maggie scoffed. She then walked over to the closet. “Is this hutch meant to be a closet?”

”Um…yes?” Anne responded, not seeing the problem.

“Well, it’s pathetic! Gabby and I can’t fit all our clothes in this!” Maggie turned to Anne. “We’ll have to use yours.”

”Excuse me?” Anne asked.

“You heard me. Show it to us.”

Anne immediately walked out of the room, her shoulders back, walking over to her bedroom. Maggie raised her eyebrow at Anne’s sudden obey, and followed her out the room with Gabby.

When they got to Anne’s room, Maggie and Gabby looked around the bedroom in disgust.
“Well…it’s, how do you say it? Ugly.” Maggie smirked. Gabby snickered at this, Anne rolled her eyes.

Maggie looked over to Anne’s closet. “There’s no room here either!” She began to go through Anne’s closet. “We’re just going to have to make room here.”

”Hey, hey! You can not just-“ Anne protested pulling Maggie away from her closet.

Maggie pulled her wrists away from Anne. “Don’t touch me Boobchuy!” Maggie’s eyes then went to the butterfly pendant on Anne’s neck.

“Oh, I like that actually.” Maggie marveled as she got closer to Anne. “What is that anyway?”

Anne put her hand over her pendant. “Please don’t touch it. It was my mothers.”

Ignoring Anne’s plead, Maggie asked, “Can I have it?”

”Yeah, no.”

“Oh come on! It can your welcome gift for me!” Maggie went on holding out her hand. “Hand it over!”

With her shoulders back, Anne yanked off the necklace and put it in Maggie’s palm. Anne’s eyes widened in horror at what she had just done.

Maggie looked at Anne in surprise for a moment, not expecting her to actually give in so quickly. “Oh. Well aren’t you obedient.” Maggie smirked putting the necklace around her neck.

Anne stared at the necklace in horror, the last piece of her mother, gone in the hands of someone who would never understand how much it meant to her.

A week later, Bee was called onto a business trip to a town not too far away where he could sell some of his potion products.

“Dad, please let me come with you?” Anne begged, wanting to get away from her cruel stepfamily.

“I know you want to come sweetheart, but the second I sell the last of these, I’ll be home.” Bee assured. Anne sighed, not only was she going to be left alone with her stepfamily, she would miss her father dearly.

“I promise I’ll be home soon.” Bee smiled softly lifting up his daughters chin. Anne smiled she hugged her father. “I’ll miss you dad.”

”I’ll miss you too my little butterfly.” Bee smiled kissing his the top of his daughters head.

The next day, Bee was off to the other town, leaving Anne alone with her cruel and hostile stepfamily.

Chapter 2: Princess Sasha

Summary:

Anne meets Princess Sasha Waybright.

Chapter Text

A few weeks later, Anne’s History class was having a debate about the kingdoms politics.
Anne was against Maggie, and Anne had a lot to say about the kingdoms political system.

“Elves, giants, ogres and humans used to exist in harmony,” Anne stated at the front of the class standing in front of the podium. Slumping on her on podium, Maggie fiddled with her braids as she had the butterfly pendant in her mouth, Anne would slap Maggie for doing that if she could.

”But when King David was allegedly killed by an ogre, Sir Xavier saw it as an opportunity to exile all nonhuman creatures to the forest, keeping their land for himself. What he has done to these poor creatures is unfair treatment. I strongly believe if we work with the other creatures, we could build a stronger economy.” Anne concluded.

The classroom clapped for Anne, including Marcy, who gave her best friend a thumbs up, which Anne gladly returned.

“Wonderfully done Anne. Give yourself a pat on the back.” The teacher praised.

Anne’s hand immediately jerked up to her right shoulder and patted it. “Thank you.” Anne smiled, putting her hand down, hoping no one noticed.

“Maggie?” The teacher asked, gesturing to the ginger at the left podium.

“Of course.” Maggie smiled sweetly, putting the butterfly pendant out of her mouth.
“What my unworthy opponent fails to realize is Sir Xavier has done a fantastic job! He has driven the ogres out, and he has put giants and elves to work as laborers and entertainers.”

Anne couldn’t help but scoff, she knew the only reason Maggie cared about Sir Xavier was because he was Princess Sasha’s uncle.

“Therefore, if it weren't for him, we wouldn't have today's thriving free-enterprise system!”

”lt's only free because we've enslaved the poor creatures and they work for nothing!” Anne protested. “Xavier is a monster, and l don't hold out much hope for his niece, either.”

”Well, that just shows you truly know nothing.” Maggie scoffed. “Princess Sasha will be a fantastic queen! Right girls?”

All the girls in the class nodded and smiled, expect for Marcy, who rolled her eyes.

“l wonder if my opponent has based her opinion on the princesses politics or how cute she thinks her butt is.” Anne smirked crossing her arms. The class went out into laughter, especially Marcy who snickered the loudest.

“Whatever Boobchuy. Just admit you’re stupid and don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“I’m stupid and I don’t know what I’m talking about!” Anne blurted.

“Anne?” The teacher asked.
Maggie looked at her stepsister with a confused and surprised look, while the rest of the class laughed, except for Marcy who looked at her best friend weirdly.

“Um…is what I would’ve said if I agreed with you!” Anne managed to cover up. “But I don’t, so in conclusion…”

”Hold your tongue Anne!” Maggie interrupted.

Anne immediately put her fingers in between her tongue, making the class giggle.
Anne smiled awkwardly, and began to scratch her tongue. “My tongue itches.”

“Anne, if you are not going to take this seriously, I’ll have to declare Maggie the winner!” The teacher announced sternly.

Anne sighed and nodded, while Maggie looked at Anne weirdly, and began to think about her stepsisters weird attitude.

In the countryside of Wartwood, a regal gold carriage rode through the rocky road.
Inside the carriage, a woman about eighteen with her blonde hair in a ponytail, blue eyes, wearing a pink vest with black pants, stared out the window.

“Uncle, do I have to go to this mall opening?” The woman asked her uncle, sitting across from her.

“As heir to the throne, it is your responsibility Sasha.” Her uncle explained. Sasha’s uncle, Xavier, had black hair with a goatee, with a golden crown on the top of his head, and wore a red robe. “You are a public figure after all.”

”Well, yeah, but you’re the one in charge.” Sasha retorted.

“Only for a little while longer.” Xavier said, which came out as more of a growl, he quickly cleared his throat. “Your coronation is in a week. You need to be out there with the people Sasha.”

”Yes shaking hands and kissing babies.” Xavier’s snake assistant Night, who was a black snake that around Xavier’s royal staff.

“Exactly, Night. This way, the people will learn to trust us more.”

“What’s not to trust?” Sasha asked. “Haven’t we always done what’s right for our people and kingdom?”

”Of course they do Sasha, but while you have been away at school for a while, the giants have become more and more treacherous. Attacking villages.”

“What? But the giants have always been peaceful! They would never attack us!”

“The ogres were peaceful too, until they ripped your father to shreds.” Xavier reminded. “And I promised your father, should anything happen to him, I shall take care of you and the kingdom. And I’ve kept my promise haven’t I?”

“Of course.” Sasha nodded, her eyes looked down as she remembered that day.
Sasha was only six when the ogres had killed her father David. David and her uncle Xavier were strolling through the woods when the ogres attacked, thankfully Xavier managed to escape, but had seen his brother get eaten alive by the ogres.

From that day on, Xavier had taken care of Sasha and ruled over the kingdom until Sasha came of age. And now that Sasha was almost eighteen, her coronation was in less than a week.

“Good. Now let’s put on a smile. Remember, image is everything!” Xavier reminded as the carriage came to a halt.

At the new mall in the Wartwood village square, tons of people gathered around to witness the new opening.
In front of the new mall, was a huge statue of Xavier and Sasha, facing their kingdom proudly.

In the front of the stage, the entire Princess Sasha Waybright fan club stood screaming and squealing for their princess to come.
Some of them held banners which read stuff like “I Love You Sasha!”.
Leading the fan club was Maggie and Gabby, Maggie had a heart shaped pin which read “I ♡ Sasha”.

By the fountain, in a good view where the royals could see them, Anne and Marcy sat on the edge, waiting for the royals to come.

“Remember the plan Marbles?” Anne asked her best friend.

”Went over it three times Anna-Banana!” Marcy saluted.

Anne smiled. “Good. Time for these so called rulers to get a piece our mind!”

Sir Xavier then began to walk onto the stage, and the crowd cheered for their technical king.
“Thank you, thank you!” Xavier smiled. “It’s wonderful to be here. In your charming town of…Wartwood. Princess Sasha and I-“

“We want Sasha! We want Sasha!” The Sasha fan club begin changing, Maggie and Gabby being the loudest.

Xavier rolled his eyes and cleared his throat. “Now, it is my pleasure to introduce my beloved niece, your future queen,  Princess Sasha Waybright!”

Sasha then emerged from behind the curtains, and the crowd began to lose it. Especially the Sasha fan club.

Anne and Marcy quickly pulled their banners out of their purses and stood up.

“Say no to ogrecide!” Anne shouted loud enough for the royals to hear, holding her banner up proudly.

”Stop the giant land grab!” Marcy joined in with her own banner.

The two girls screamed and shouted over the crowd of subjects, loud enough for Sasha to look over the crowd and notice the two teenagers.

Before she could ask her uncle about what they were talking about, he immediately said, “Just some brainless protesters, keep smiling and waving.”

Sasha nodded and continued waving to the crowd, even though she couldn’t stop looking back to the protesters.

Not only had Sasha heard the two girls, so did Maggie and Gabby, who quickly rushed over to the fountain to stop the outrage.

“Anne! Stop!” Maggie yelled snatching the banner from Anne’s hands. “You are embarrassing us!”

”Isn't being the president of the Sasha Fanclub embarrassing enough?” Anne snapped back.

Maggie growled at the Thai girl. “Go home!” She commanded.

Annes shoulders went back and her chest puffed, she turned to Marcy and grabbed her bag. “I-I gotta go.” Anne then walked away.

”Anne, wait, you don’t need to-“ Marcy tried to say, but Anne was already gone.
Marcy sighed and lifted up her banner that Maggie thankfully hadn’t snatched.

“Stop the giant land grab! Say no to ogrecide!” Marcy continued shouting.

Maggie growled and yanked away the banner from the Asians hands. Maggie then held up her own banner. “I love you Princess Sasha!” Maggie yelled.

Marcy rolled her eyes and cupped her hands around her mouth. “Say no to ogrecide! Stop the giant land grab!”
Maggie growled, and continued yelling.

“Hey! Princess Sasha!” A brunette girl apart of the fan club shouted from the front. Sasha looked down at the brunette.
“Are you a fast runner?”

“Um…no? Not really. Why?” Sasha asked.

The brunette smirked. “GET HER!!!”
The entire Sasha fan club then pushed back the guards, who had tried their best to keep the club away, but failed miserably.

Sasha panicked and ran down the stairs of the stage, not even asking her uncle for approval, who was already feeling threatened by the situation.

Sasha got off the stage, and it didn’t take a second for knowing what she needed to do.

She made a run for it.

By the time Anne had made it by the country road, the command spell had worn off. Anne thought about going back to the mall opening, but what was the point?
Maggie would have just commanded Anne again to go home.
So Anne just walked home with all her frustrations and anger.

Annes thoughts were interrupted by a sudden figure bumping into her from behind.
“Hey!” Anne yelled. Before she could say anything else, Anne was brought down to the ground, her mouth covered by another hand, muffling her screams.

“Shh!” The figure shushed.
Anne looked up and immediately recognized the figure. Princess Sasha.

The Sasha Fan Club zoomed past the two girls, not even noticing the princess they were after was hiding right over by the stone wall on their right.

When the fan club was gone, Sasha finally removed her hand and sighed of relief.

“Princess Sasha.” Anne addressed, with no emotion whatsoever, wiping off dirt.

”Sorry about that.” The princess apologized. “But please, call me-“ Sasha then got a good look at the girl she had tackled accidentally, almost taken aback by her beauty. ”Sasha.”

Sasha cleared her throat. “Here, allow me.” She stood up, offering her hand, only for Anne to not take it and get up herself.

“Thanks, but I don’t need your chivalry.”  Anne denied. “And don’t expect me to curtsy either, so just forget it.” Anne began to walk away.

“Well, if you’re not going to curtsy, that’s your choice. Nothing I can really do about it.” Sasha said following the Thai girl. “But if I was my uncle, he would behead you, so be lucky it’s me.”

”Charming. But why don’t you go back to doing what your people usually do? Enslaving people and stealing lands?” Anne said getting in Sasha’s face.

”Excuse me?”

”Oh, you know exactly what I’m talking about.” Anne began to walk away.

“Wait. Come here.” Sasha said, Anne immediately stopped in her tracks. She rolled her eyes and forcibly walked over to the princess. “What?”

”Whats your name?”

“Anne Boonchuy of Wartwood.”

”Well, Anne Boonchuy, you’re the first maiden I’ve met who hasn’t swoon over me.”

“Then maybe I’ve done something good.”

“Look, l've never stolen anyone's land or livelihood. I don’t even know what you’re talking about.” Sasha explained. “l want peace in the kingdom as much as anyone.”

”Well, do you have a new plan once you take the crown?” Anne asked.

“Well…obviously!” Sasha chuckled nervously, Anne raised an eyebrow skeptically. “I’m just not required to tell anyone yet! If I had one that is…”

“I knew it! Just what I thought. You’re all the same. You care more about your fan club and your next jousting tournament than the well being of your people!”

“No, actually, l've never been comfortable with the whole adoring fan club thing.” Sasha retorted. “And believe me, I do care about my people!”

”Oh yeah? Maybe that's why l find your obvious amusement for me so refreshing.“

“Obvious? I thought I was doing well at hiding it.” Sasha smirked.

“Mmhm. Now, I better be going,” Anne began to walk away until she realized something. “Wait where’s my-I forgot my purse. It’s back where you tackled me.” She sighed.

“Oh, wait right here. I’ll go get it.” The blonde said, she began to walk back to the stone wall.

Anne sighed, Sasha’s command had made Anne stay in her place in the middle of the road.
After a moment of waiting for the princess, Anne heard the horse tracks off a carriage coming from up ahead.

Anne gasped and struggled to move, but her boots were glued to the ground because of the princesses command.

“P-Princess Sasha?” Anne called out in desperation.

But the more Anne struggled, the closer the carriage came.

“PRINCESS SASHA!”

Anne looked at the carriage in fear, the driver not even noticing her, at least Anne would get to see her mother sooner than she thought.

“Your highness…” Anne whispered in fear, she braced herself for the impact.
As Anne shut her eyes, she felt a body throw her away from the scene and onto the soft green grass.

Anne opened her eyes to see a blonde woman looking at her on top of her.
“Anne! Are you crazy? Why didn’t you move?” Sasha yelled at the Thai girl.

“Um…” Anne struggled to come up with an excuse. “I-I would have! If it wasn’t for your apparent fascination with knocking me to the ground!” She nervously chuckled as she sat up from the grass with Sasha.

“Well, I guess I’ll try to be more considerate next time on saving you.” Sasha said handing back the Thai girl her blue purse.

Anne looked at the blonde. “Next time? What makes you think we’ll see each other again?” Anne asked annoyingly putting her purse over her shoulder.

“Well, why won’t we?”

”Well, we won’t.”

“Anne Boonchuy of Wartwood, you are not like other girls. Every other girl would beg to see me again.”

”You have no idea Princess Sasha Waybright of Amphibia.”

“Anne!” A raspy voice called out. Anne looked up ahead and noticed Maggie standing there with Gabby, her hands on her hips looking pissed. “Come here.”

Anne immediately stood up and walked over to her two stepsisters.

“Shouldn’t you be at home? Cleaning the fireplace?” Maggie asked sweetly for Sasha to hear. She then pulled Anne close by the arm. “Stop flirting with her!” Maggie hissed, Anne rolled her eyes.

”lt’s me she's going to have at her coronation!”

“Yeah, in the middle of the table with an apple in your mouth.” Anne smirked.

Maggie growled. “Go back to the mall with Gabby!” She commanded.

With her shoulders back, Anne immediately followed Gabby to the mall.

“Um, bye Anne!” Sasha called out to Anne, which Anne nodded in return.

“Don’t bother with Boobchuy, your highness.” Maggie smirked blocking Sasha’s view of the Thai girl. “It’s me the one you want. I know everything about you.”

“Oh really?” Sasha asked, getting creepy vibes from this girl.

”Ya know, when we used to live in Lamia, I used to stand outside your bedroom window, watching you turn your light on and off, waiting for you to show up in the window.” Maggie sighed twirling a lock of Sasha’s blonde hair in her finger.

Sasha smacked Maggie’s hand away, she cleared her throat. “Tell Anne I’ll be in touch!” Sasha tried to smile, and then made a run for it, trying to get away from this girl.

“Right.” Maggie growled, angered with the fact Sasha was already smitten with her stepsister of all people in the world.

Chapter Text

About half an hour later, Anne had returned to the mall, and met up with Marcy. The two were talking to each other on the escalator.

”Anne, where were you?” Marcy asked her best friend.

“Oh, um, I met the princess.” Anne replied.

”What? No way!”

“Yeah, look, I really don’t want to talk about. Maggie and Gabby were there.”
While Anne was somewhat annoyed around the princess, and was against her and her uncle for her actions to the elves, giants, and ogres, she still couldn’t stop thinking about the Princess.

Her blonde hair, her blue eyes, her smugness…

Anne shook off her thoughts and listened to her best friend.

“Oh. Ugh.” Marcy scoffed. “If we’re talking about Maggie, why do you always do what she tells you to anyway? I can tell you never want to, but you always listen to her!”

“No I don’t!” Anne denied, as much as she wished she could tell her best friend the truth about her curse, she was commanded to not already by her mother ages ago.

“Yes you do!”

”No I don’t!”

”Anne, come on. Be honest.”

Anne felt her shoulders go back. “You’re right. I do.” She admitted, but that was all Anne could tell. “I just want to be a good step sister you know? Dad wants me to welcome Maggie and Gabby into Wartwood.  And I’m sure my mom would want me to.”

“Oh. Anne, if I’ll be honest, Maggie and Gabby don’t deserve civility, especially not Maggie.”

“Yeah, I know.”

Meanwhile, Maggie and Gabby were by a shop that was selling potion bottles and jewelry.

“Gabby, have you noticed anything strange about Anne?” Maggie asked her sister.

”No, not really.” Gabby replied looking at some jewelry.

“Have you noticed it gets darker at night, then lighter when the sun comes up?”

“Thats because of Anne!”

“Forget it.”

Meanwhile, Anne and Marcy were walking nearby the shop Maggie and Gabby were at.

“Ya know Anne, you’ve been acting pretty off lately, which is saying something.” Marcy acknowledged.

“Marcy, I have no idea what your talking about-“ Anne began to say before noticing Maggie. “Oh no, it’s Maggie! Hide me!” She panicked hiding behind a couple of barrels, praying Maggie didn’t see her.

“Anne, this is exactly what I mean! Your acting way weirder than normal!” Marcy said. She then tugged Anne up by the arm.
“Marcy! No!” Anne yelled.

Unfortunately, Maggie did notice Anne, and the moment she saw her stepsister, she smirked. “Anne, come here.” She called.

At that command, Anne’s shoulders went back. “I need to go.” She said to Marcy, and walked over to her stepsisters.
“What?” She asked annoyingly.

“I need you to do me a favor.” Maggie smirked, she pointed to a small potion bottle. “Take that.”

Anne immediately stuffed the bottle into her bag, her eyes widened in horror at the fact she had just stolen something.

Gabby’s eyes perked up in amusement and excitement. “Cool! Let me try! Anne! Take that!” She pointed to an emerald bracelet.

Anne stuffed the bracelet into her purse right at that command.

“Now take that bottle!”

Anne once again stuffed a potion bottle into her purse, she began to get even more annoyed. “OKAY! You figured me out! Now that’s enough!”

“I think I decide on that Boobchuy.” Maggie smirked. “But I do have one last little request for you.” Maggie pointed to a diamond necklace on a display stand. “Take that.”

Annes eyes widened in fear as her shoulders went back and she walked over to the necklace display. “Please don’t make me do this!” She begged as she quickly removed the necklace, making sure the security guards nearby didn’t notice her, her heart beating out of her chest.

“Well since you said please, take them!” Maggie commanded sternly.
Anne immediately stuffed the necklace into her purse.

Unfortunately for Anne, a security guard noticed Anne’s thievery.
“Hey!” He yelled, making his way towards the Thai girl.

“Run, Anne!” Maggie yelled.
Anne yelped as her feet took off, she ran fast. Faster than she ever thought she could. She pushed through the crowd quickly, apologizing to the innocent citizens.
“Excuse me! Sorry!”

”Stop that girl!” A police officer shouted, with two other officers behind him.

“Buy a squirrel sandwich! Get them while they’re hot!” Some guy said out to Anne holding a squirrel sandwich.
Anne felt her shoulders go back as she went over to the guy. “Um…here.” Anne said going through her purse and getting out some money to pay. She handed it to the guy and took the sandwich.
“Here! Keep the change!” Anne forcibly smiled before running off with the sandwich.
“Thank you miss!” The guy smiled.

Anne continued zooming through the crowd, she then threw her sandwich at one of the officers, causing them to stumble back.
“Sorry!” Anne shouted, feeling guilty.

Anne then made it over to the railing, where a red banner hang from one side to the other. Realizing the guards were catching up behind her, Anne decided she didn’t have a choice.
Anne grabbed the edge of the banner, and attempted to slide through it, only got it to rip, bring Anne down with it. The brunette screamed as she slid through the banner.

“Bravo Anne!” Maggie smirked, clapping her hands as Gabby laughed next to her, the two of them enjoying the show.

As Anne catch her breathe, a couple of guards ran over to her, and she ran.
“Freeze!” A guard yelled as she jumped over a barrel.

At those words, Anne froze midair as she jumped, not breathing a breath or moving a muscle, the only thing that made her seem like she was still alive was her blinking eyes.

The guards gawked in shock and confusion at the girl, including everyone in the mall. While Maggie and Gabby beamed in delight, this was beautiful.

The guard then finally decided to step towards the teen and speak up and say “Um…put your hands together.”

Anne slapped her hands together, allowing her to be released from her frozen state.
Making her fall onto a barrel, making it snap open with its pink liquid.
Anne heard Maggie and Gabby’s laughter as a guard put handcuffs on her wrists.

“You’re under arrest.”

Anne’s eyes dreaded in fear and sadness.

A few hours later, Anne was able to bailed out of jail by her stepmother, much to Parisias dismay and embarrassment.
Now here Anne was in her living room as Parisia wailed about Anne’s activities today.

“A felon in my own family!” Parisia wailed leaning against the couch. ”You are a disgrace! I could die from embarrassment!”

Anne heard Olivia scoff behind her from Parisias last sentence.

“Perhaps Anne was put up to it, this is very unlike her and I know she would never do something like this.” Olivia suggested, theorizing someone had commanded Anne to do so.

Maggie began to think of an excuse to convince her mother she had nothing to do with it due to Olivia’s speculation.
She then looked out the window and noticed Marcy approaching the house. The ginger haired smirked as an idea came to mind.

“Olivia’s right mother.” Maggie said coming to Anne’s side. “Gabby and I were there, we saw everything. And I know exactly who made Anne do such a horrendous thing.”

“Who?” Parisia asked.

“Tell her it was Marcy.” Maggie whispered into Anne’s ear, making sure her mother didn’t hear her.

Annes shoulders went back. “Mar-“ Anne clamped her hand over her mouth as her eyes widened. She couldn’t blame Marcy on this. She just couldn’t. But the gift didn’t allow that.

“Well, I’m waiting. Who was it?” Parisia repeated.

“Marcy.” Anne blurted out, she looked down in sorrow and guilt. Olivia looked at the Thai girl, noticing tears forming in her eyes. She had a feeling this wasn’t the truth.

“Marcy! I should’ve know!” Parisia growled. “You are forbidden to ever see her again!”

“What?!” Anne yelled. Maggie and Gabby smirked as they walked to their mothers side.
“You heard her Anne.” Maggie smirked.

All of a sudden, there was a knock at the door. “Anne?” A familiar voice called. Anne recognized that voice anywhere.

“How dare she come here now.” Parisia growled, she turned to Anne. “Answer the door and tell her that you never want to see her again.”

Anne gasped in horror as her shoulders went and she made her way towards the door.

“And tell her you could never be friends with a Newtopian!” Maggie added.

Annes shoulders went back once again, she began to look down, trying to figure out a way to fight this command. Olivia then grabbed Anne’s shoulders, stopping her from reaching the door.

“Please Dame Parisia, is this really necessary?” Olivia asked, she knew how close Anne and Marcy were. It would break Anne’s heart to ruin their friendship.

”Please Dame Parisia!” Anne begged, she couldn’t bare losing her best friend.

”Don’t argue, just do it.” Parisia scoffed, ignoring the house-fairy and Thai girls pleads.
Annes shoulders went back as she broke free of Olivia’s grasps, walking to the door, she answered the door to see Marcy’s smiling face. Anne felt tears burn in her eyes.

“Oh thank god you’re alright!” Marcy smiled hugging her best friend. But Anne couldn’t hug her back.

Marcy then noticed Anne’s sad face. “Hey, what’s wrong?”

“I…” Anne felt tears roll down her cheeks. “I never want to see you again…”

Marcy looked at Anne in shock for a moment, only for a smirk to come on the face. “Haha. Very funny.” But Anne didn’t laugh with her.

“Anne, I don’t understand. We’ve been best friends since we were kids!”

”I…I could never be friends with a Newtopian.” Anne wiped away her tears, not baring to see Marcy’s face. “Just go.” Anne closed the door, leaving her former best friend in shock and hurt. Anne then ran up to her room.

Later that night, Anne sobbed into her pillow in her bedroom.
This had been the worst day of her life, her protest against the royals was ruined, she almost died because of the princesses command, humiliated herself in front of everyone at the mall getting herself arrested, and now had lost her best friend since childhood.

Anne then heard a knock at her door. “Anne?” A gentle voice called, Anne recognized it as Olivia. The blue-haired woman then opened the door.
“Are you alright dear?” She asked sitting on Anne’s bed.

“No. Oh Olivia,” Anne then sobbed into Olivia’s chest, the fairy hugged back the girl as she cried.

“Out of all the things the curse has made me done…this has to be the worst thing it’s ever made me do!” Anne sobbed, she couldn’t keep living like this. She couldn’t.
Being commanded to everything anyone wanted her whole life against her will, even if it meant ruining her life.

“I’ve got to do it.” Anne sniffled sitting up from Olivia’s hug. “I need to find Leif and get her to take back the curse!”

“You’re right.” Olivia nodded, this curse had made Anne suffer enough. And today was just the tip of the iceberg. An idea came to Olivia’s mind. “In fact, you’ll need some help. I need to show you something.” Olivia walked out of Anne’s room, the Thai girl following the fairy into her bedroom.

By Olivia’s desk, was a shelf full of books. Mostly for spells and cooking. Olivia selected a large book that was golden with pink gems. “I suppose I should’ve shown you a long time ago, but I was a little embarrassed.” Olivia began to explain as she sat next to Anne on her bed.

“Embarrassed? How?” Anne asked. What was so embarrassing about a book?

“Well, as you know, l'm not the most talented fairy. Therefore, my spells don’t always go as how I want them to.” Olivia explained. “Anyway, this is my wife Yunan.”

Olivia spin the book around, revealing a circular glass window, the window swirled around, to reveal the head of a woman with light blonde hair, tan skin, and yellow eyes. The woman smiled at Anne.

”Hello there! Nice to meet you! Been at least twenty years since I’ve met anyone actually!”

Anne gasped, in shock at the woman in the book, before her eyes beamed in curiosity.
”Woah! I’ve never seen anything like this!” Anne beamed. “But how did this happen?”

”lt was an accident. l was just trying a spell to trim her hair a bit, and it went a little askew.” Olivia explained.

“l would have left her ages ago, except l love her so damn much.” Yunan sighed dreamily. “Plus, l have no legs.”

Olivia smiled at her wife lovingly, putting her against a pillow. “I love you too my darling little bookworm.”

“Love you more Livvy-Lamb.” Yunan flirted back. Anne looked between the couple, feeling a little awkward.

“I love you more my-“

“Okay!” Anne interrupted. “So, how is your wife suppose to help me?”

“Well, I want Yunan to come with you.” Olivia told handing the Thai girl her wife.

“You mean I’m finally getting out of here? Beyond these foul walls?” Yunan asked excitingly as Anne flipped through her pages. “There’s so many places in my pages I’ve wanted to visit!”

Anne tried to read through Yunan’s pages, which were full of unique places and interesting artifacts and creatures.
“Woah, what is all this?” Anne asked.

”Oh, Yunan knows everything.” Olivia replied.

“Thanks love. But not everything.” Yunan corrected. “If I did, I’d be a lot more thicker.”

“Can you show me anything about Leif?” Anne asked.

“Can I show you anything about Leif?” Yunan scoffed with a smirk at that question and Olivia took the book in her hands.

“Watch this, show me Leif!” Olivia opened the book, to reveal an image of Leif walking around in what looked like one of the Crockery Barns.
“Ta-da!” Yunan beamed excitingly.

“Cool trick!” Anne beamed. “Now, which Crockery Barn? They're all over the kingdom.”

”Well, that’s the glitch. She can’t tell you where the person is. She can only show you the picture.” Olivia explained. “Like a crystal ball or magic mirror.”

“Oh.” Anne nodded, a little disappointed, but understood. She then got a good look at the moving picture. “Everything is so huge. Is that a wedding registry?”

Olivia looked down at the image. “You’re right. They must be in Giantville!” Olivia suggested. “She’s probably going to a wedding. She likes to invade weddings. She went to Yunan and I’s wedding.” Olivia scoffed, remembering Leif’s rude intrusion.

“We didn’t even invite her! She’s lucky I didn’t have my sword on me that day.” Yunan growled.

Anne smirked at the image. “Yunan, we’re going to Giantville!”

“How exciting! I haven’t been there in years!” Yunan beamed.

“Anne, the girls and l need bouquets for our portrait sitting tomorrow.” Parisia called down from the living room. “Go pick some!”

Anne sighed as her shoulders went back and she exited the bedroom.
No matter how long it would take Anne to pick those flowers, Anne was gonna go to Giantville and find Leif no matter what.

As she walked into the garden, she noticed a bush of poison ivy. Anne smirked as an idea came to mind. It was time for some revenge.

The next morning, Parisia, Maggie, and Gabby screamed as their whole body broke out into hives, the three dropped their flowers and began scratching themselves.

Olivia smirked in amusement at the girls pain, she looked out the window, Anne was probably at Giantville by now.

She set out a prayer that Anne would find Leif and get her to take back the curse.
For now, Olivia had to find the poison Ivy cream.

Chapter Text

Anne walked through the forest, wearing the dark blue cloak that once belonged to her mother as she held Yunan close to her chest.
As excited Anne was to get rid of the stupid curse, she was a little nervous of the journey.
They were in the Forest Of Pim for gods sake, there could be beasts wanting to eat them anywhere.

But Anne brushed off her worries and concerns, she had to suck it up. She needed to get rid of the curse. She just had to.

“Hey Yunan, can you show me a map of the Forest of Pim?”

“Can do.” Yunan responded. Anne then opened the book and a 3D map magically showed up.

“Woah. Awesome!” Anne smiled.
“I know right?”

“Okay, so if we head due east towards Monster Rock, we can cut half a day off our journey.” Anne explained looking at the map, which popped out a blue road and arrow leading to her location. “Sounds easy enough!”

“The faster the better. I already miss Olivia.” Yunan sighed. Anne smiled softly at Yunans love for Olivia. Sometimes she wished she had someone like that. Not a girlfriend inside a book per say, but a girlfriend who would love her.

“AHHHH!” A young male voice screamed, startling Anne.

“Um…what was that?” Anne asked, feeling worried.

“Definitely something that wants to kill us, we best be on our way.” Yunan responded.
Ignoring Yunan, Anne slammed the book, and ran to wherever that scream was coming from.

“HELP ME!” The voice screamed.

Anne ran over to a part of the forest by a big tree, to see an elf boy with ginger hair wearing a green hat with goggles tied on a spinning wheel as four men threw knives at him.

On a tree, an elderly old elf man and a young elf girl with ginger hair were tied up against the tree.
“Hang on Sprig!” The elderly elf yelled, trying to squirm free of the tight ropes. While the girl elf bit on the rope.

“Come on, sing for us Elf Boy!” A man laughed throwing another knife at the wheel, barely missing the elf’s head.
“Damn it. Missed.” He muttered.

“No! I don’t sing!” The elf boy yelled.

“Hey! What on earth are you doing to that poor boy?” Anne yelled running over to the man who were torturing the poor elf.

“Who’s this who thinks she’s so tough?” One of the man smirked approaching Anne, making her nervous.

“Alright, I should warn you, I have  practiced the ancient art of…origami!” Anne but back.

“Isn’t that like paper folding?” One man asked.

“I was hoping you didn’t know what that was.” Anne chuckled nervously backing up away from the man.

“Don’t let them intimate you sweetheart!” The elderly elf called.

“Yeah! Kick his butt!” The girl elf added.

Anne’s shoulders went back, and she approached one of the men, and began kicking his bum.

“Oi! What the hell are you doing?” The man asked angrily.

The elf boy took note of the girls immediate reaction and yelled, “Hey! Human girl! Rabbit punch!”

Anne took off her cloak and dropped Yunan to the ground, the Thai girl then began swiftly punching another man, causing them to stumble backwards.

“Combo!” The elf girl yelled.

Anne kicked another man in the face.

”Kneel!” Anne kicked the man by her knee in his face.

Another man tried to grab Anne, only for the elf boy to yell “Front-step kick!”
Making Anne spin around and kick the man in the face a couple times.

“Dragon-roundhouse kick!”

Anne kicked another man in the face at least five times, she got on her legs with her fists up.

”This chick is crazy!” One man said.
“Let’s get out of here!” All four man ran away from the scene, not wanting another taste of the girls fury.

Anne smiled confidently at the man’s escape, that was the best thing the curse had ever made her do.

Anne then stood up and ran over to the elf boy on the wheel. Using one of the daggers the men had threw at him, she cut the ropes on his wrists and ankles, making him fall on the ground.

“Sorry! Are you okay?” Anne apologized helping the elf to his feet.

“Yeah! Never better! Thanks to you!”

Anne smiled and ran over to the elf boys family and untied the rope with the dagger.

“Thank you kindly miss.” The elderly elf smiled.

“Yeah! And that was so cool when you whooped those jerks butt!” The girl elf beamed.

“Well, I-I just did what you told me to, since I was panicking. So thank goodness my karate skills came in handy!” Anne awkwardly chuckled.

“We’re the Plantars! I’m Sprig, that’s Polly, and Hop Pop! You got a name stranger?” Sprig asked.

“Anne. Anne Boonchuy of Wartwood.” Anne smiled she then put back on her cloak and picked up Yunan. “Now, it was really nice to meet you all, and I’m glad you’re all safe, but I better get going now.”

“Ms. Boonchuy, take it from an old elf who’s been around for a while, it ain’t safe to be around these forests on your own.” Hop pop warned.

”I’m not alone actually…” Anne thought thinking back to the trapped woman in her arms. Yunan knew enough about these woods to keep her safe, therefore she should be fine.

”Can’t we go somewhere to eat then? To thank you for saving us?” Sprig asked. “I know a great place in Elf Village!”

”Thank you, but I’m on a tight schedule.”

”Sprig, don’t pressure Ms. Boonchuy.” Hop Pop warned.

”Well…”

“Maybe go with them.” Yunan whispered, making sure the Plantars didn’t see or hear her. “Can’t go on a journey with an empty stomach.”

Anne sighed. “I guess dinner would be fine.”

“Yeah!” Sprig and Polly cheered, Sprig then grabbed Anne’s hand and lead her in a direction.

“Sprig, do you even know where you’re going?” Polly asked.

”Of course I do! It’s…over here somewhere!”

An hour later, after getting lost a couple times by Sprig, Hop Pop finally brought the group to Elf Village by the time the sun came down.

In the village, they crept in the shadows, staying away from the street lights. Hop Pop kept looking around to make sure no one was there.

“Um, guys? If this is where you live, then why are we sneaking around?” Anne asked.

“Trust me, if they spot you, you will be sorry.” Polly warned.

”What do you mean?”

”You know how elves are forced to sing and dance right?” Sprig asked.

”Yeah, what about it?”

Unfortunately for them, an old lady on her porch had spotted the girl and the elf family.
“Visitors!” She called cupping her hand around her mouth before Sprig could answer.

The lights and lamps inside houses came on, and voices were heard as the lights went out.

“Visitors!”

“Places everyone!”

The Plantars froze.
“Oh no!” Sprig whispered.

”One, two three four!”

All of a sudden, four dancing elf woman in green rockette style clothing came behind Anne and the Plantars, causing Anne to scream.

“RUN FOR IT!” Hop pop yelled, running away from the women with Anne and his grandchildren.

“Let us entertain you, let us make you smile!”

Many elves at their porches and on the streets danced and singed, doing tricks and  dancing.

”Let us give you a few tricks, some old and then some new tricks!”

At every corner Anne and the Plantars turned trying to escape the madness, more elves just appeared.

“We're very versatile,”

“And if you're real good we'll make you feel good,”

”We want your sprits high!”

”Where are we going?!” Anne asked as Sprig dragged her by the hand, glancing at the dancing and singing elves.

“To dinner, remember!” Sprig responded, yelling over the singing.

“We’ll have a real good time!”

The elves began to follow Anne and the Plantars to a restaurant with a sign that said Stumpy’s at the top. Anne, Sprig, and Polly were able to dash into the restaurant, escaping the scene.

“Leave us alone!” Hop Pop yelled before slamming the restaurant door.

A little while later, Anne and the Plantars were seated at a table.

“Finally, peace and quiet at last.” Hop Pop sighed of relief as he leaned back his chair.

Anne smiled at the old elf as she removed her cloak, putting it behind her chair.

“Jeremiah was a bullfrog,”

Anne looked to her left to a group of elves singing, all wearing matching green outfits, holding instruments.

“He was a good friend of mine-“

“Hit the road.” Sprig scoffed annoyingly.

Instead of leaving, the elves just continued singing.
“Hit the road Jack, and don’t you-“

”Get out of here!” Polly yelled slamming her fist on the table, making the elves immediately leave.

Anne then placed Yunan on the table, which Polly noticed.

“What is this anyway?” Polly asked pointing at the large book. “Anne’s secret diary?” Polly began to open the book, before Anne immediately slammed the book shut before Polly could see a page.

“Yes, now please don’t read it!” Anne smiled. “So, why don’t you guys like music?”

”It’s not that we hate music, it’s just ever since Sir Xavier made elves be entertainment, every elf can only be a singer or dancer.” Sprig explained. “We don’t want to be entertainers!”

“Exactly, I used to be a farmer until the rule was made, my farm was shut down and taken away from me.” Hop pop sighed, a look of sadness in his eyes.

“And I want to explore the world! See what is out there!” Sprig beamed.

“And I want to be an engineer! We barely have enough technology around these parts!” Polly added.

“Let me guess, for a small-time business.” Anne heard Yunan spoke up, giving the book a small glare.

“What was that?” Sprig asked looking around, seeing where the voice came from.

“Um…what? What are your talking about?” Anne asked innocently with a chuckle. “But I didn’t know the elf restrictions made you all quit your jobs, that’s so unfair!”

“Tell me about it.” Polly grumbled. “Sometimes I just want to storm right to the castle, go up to Sir Xavier’s stupid face, and yell HEY!” Polly then slammed her fist on the book, making Yunan flinch.

“You and your stupid rules should be put in jail! You are the worst lord ever! Justice will be out upon you!”

“Maybe if you were tall enough to get in his face.” Yunan commented in a snarky way.

“WAIT! I heard it! It’s coming from the book!” Polly yelled standing from his seat, pointing a finger at the book.
“I heard it too!” Sprig agreed.

Anne grabbed the book in her hands and quickly covered the window. “No it’s not!” She smiled innocently, hoping that was enough.

“The kids are right, I did hear something from that book.” Hop pop confessed, looking at the book suspiciously.

”No you didn’t!” Yunan grinned appearing in the window.

“HAH! I knew it!” Sprig beamed standing up from his seat, before slumping back in it. “Whew. Thought I was going crazy there.”

Before Anne could scold Yunan, the singing elves from earlier showed back up.

“Crazy. I’m crazy for feeling so lonely,”

Polly glared at the elves deeply, looking like she was trying in all her power not to punch them.

Back in Wartwood, Olivia had collected the mail for the day, still worried about Anne and Yunan.

The household fairy sighed thinking about Yunan as she went through the letters. She noticed one of them being particularly fancy with a red stamp, having Anne’s name on it.

“What do you have there?” Parisia asked Olivia, looking at the letter in her hands.

“Um, nothing personal.” Olivia smiled innocently, hiding the letter behind her back. Unlucky for her, Parisia went behind Olivia and snatched the letter.

“A letter for Anne?” Parisia opened the letter, it was an invitation from Sasha. “The princesses coronation ball? Why would she invite that little brat?” All of a sudden, an idea came to mind. Parisia approached Maggie and Gabby, who were sitting on the couch, itching their poison Ivy scracthes.

”Girls, go and dust off your ball gowns and pack your bags.” Parisia told her daughters, she handed Maggie the letter.

“l think l may have found you another chance at your future wife.”

Maggie read the letter, and gasped in excitement.
“Yes!” She cheered, shaking with joy, not even noticing the fact the letter was sent for Anne. Parisia smirked while Gabby clapped with excitement.

Olivia only sighed, hoping Anne was on her way home soon with the curse gone.

Chapter Text

Outside of Stumpy’s a few hours later, Sprig was holding Yunan with amazement in his eyes.
“So, you can show me anything in the kingdom?“ Sprig asked curiously. “Can you show me where Ms. Croaker is?”

”Can do.” Yunan smiled, Sprig opened the book to see Croaker singing in the bathtub with her pet dog Archie. Sprig quickly slammed the book shut. “I really shouldn’t have said that…”

”Kids! Get down!” Hop Pop whispered-yelled, ducking down behind a bush.
Sprig grabbed Anne and pulled her down with Polly and Hop Pop.

”What? What’s going on?” Anne asked.
“Look!” Sprig whispered, pointing to a group of elves being rounded up by some royal guards and brought into a carriage. Anne recognized the elves by the ones who tried to perform to her and the Plantars at Stumpy’s.

”What are they doing to them?” Anne asked Hop Pop.

“Xavier’s soldiers are rounding up elves to perform at Princess Sasha’s coronation.” Hop Pop explained.

“They’re brought there against their free will?”

“Yup.” Polly nodded, gritting her teeth.

Anne glared at the guards putting the elves in the back of the carriage, and then turned to the Plantars as an idea came to mind. “Guys, you need to come with me to Lamia so you can petition the princess!”

”What?” The Plantars asked facing the Thai girl.

”This can’t go on! You all have strong opinions about the elf restrictions, maybe you can convince Princess Sasha to stop this so you can be what you want to be!” Anne explained, hearing the elves sing as the carriage road away.

The Plantars looked at each other as they all rose up.

”We’re going to Giantville, it’s on the way! Come with us!” Anne added.

“Anne may be on to something here! We should give it a shot!” Sprig said to his family.

”Not a chance. The princess will never get an audience with a bunch of elves. They think we’re a joke.” Hop Pop huffed.

”Yeah, but I’ve met Princess Sasha, and I think she might be different from her uncle.” Anne explained, she blushed a little thinking about the princess.

Polly and Sprig looked at Hop Pop with big puppy dog eyes. The elder elf sighed. “Alright. We’ll give it a shot.”

”Yeah!” Sprig and Polly cheered.

Anne smiled at the elves as they made their exit from Elfville, on their way to Giantville.

A day later, Anne and the Plantars were walking through the forest as Hop Pop talked on about some misunderstandings about elves.

“Ya know Anne, elves are not that short.” Hop Pop went on. “That’s just a myth created by that stupid Elves and Shoemaker story.”

”Do we look small enough to fit in a shoe?” Polly asked Anne.

”Uh, no. Definitely not.” Anne answered clutching Yunan to her chest.

“Stinking Grimm Brothers.” Hop Pop growled.

“We’ve been walking through the same patch of woods for what’s felt like hours!” Sprig groaned. “Are you sure she knows where she’s going?” Sprig asked pointing to Yunan.

“I think I know damn well what I’m doing, boy.” Yunan replied. “It’s not my fault you have impatience.”

Before Sprig could say something back at Yunan, a rustling was heard from behind the bushes.
“Uh, what was that?” Polly asked.

”Oh, no. The rustling always comes before the screaming and the running!” Hop Pop panicked. “I knew this was a bad idea!”

”Soon, they’ll find pieces of us scattered on the floor!”

Then, a black bunny jumped out of the bush and scurried away.

“Careful. They can probably smell fear.” Yunan smirked.

Hop Pop gave a small glare to the book. “Never hurts to be on your guard.” Hop Pop  huffed crossing his arms.

“Don’t worry guys, I got this.” Sprig smirked approaching the pair of bushes and branches the bunny had scurried off into.

”Hey! Thumper! Out of the forest or no more carrots for you!” Sprig called snapping his fingers leaning down.

Anne, Yunan, Hop Pop, and Polly chuckled a little at Sprig’s attempt.

But none of them noticed a large dark green skinned ogre, with one grey eye, wearing a dark red vest emerge from behind the tree.

”I am not a fan of carrots.” He growled.
Anne and the Plantars looked up and gasped at the ogre before them. Yunan quickly disappeared into the darkness of the window. Not just because she didn’t want to be seen, but also because she didn’t want to be involved in this.

“T-then how would you feel about a rabbit? Because o-one went t-that way?” Sprig stuttered nervously, pointing to the direction the bunny ran off to.

”Thanks but I prefer elves and humans.” The ogre smirked, approaching the family and girl. Sprig quickly hid behind Anne, who shielded the family of elves from the ogre.

”I am the ogre, Grime. Now how would you like to be eaten? Baked, boiled, or other?”

“How about free-range?” Anne chuckled nervously.
Then, more ogres surrounded the group, making them scream.

“Woah! Woah! Okay! No!” Anne yelled spreading her arms out. “Uh, hi! How’s it going? Anne Boonchuy of Wartwood. Look, there’s been a mistake here. You see, I’m pro-ogre!”

“Pro-ogre?” Grime repeated.

“Yeah! You see, I led a rally on your behalf the other day! Think you may have heard of it?”

“Don’t worry, it’ll only hurt for a moment. I promise.” Grime smirked, ignoring the Thai girls rebuttal. “I’m a fast eater.” He licked his teeth.

Hop Pop then began to scream out top his lungs, throwing his arms in the air in terror.

”Hop Pop!” Anne shushed, she turned back to the ogres. “Please! I just want to help!”

“From a human?” Grime scoffed. “Humans took everything from us. I was once a simple ogre, living the high life. Running armies, lifting weights, practicing swords,”

“Not this again.” An ogre scoffed.
“Grime, hurry up! I’m starving!” An ogre next to Grime said taking out his knife.

“Right. You. Into the pot!” Grime said to Anne. Anne put her shoulders back, and immediately walked over to the pot some ogres were setting up.

“Anne! No! Forget that!” Sprig called out.

Anne then froze as she was in front of the pot. Wait, where was she?
She turned to Grime. “Who are you?”

Grime gave Anne a weird look. “Um, I’m Grime? The ogre? Didn’t we already do this?” He asked one of the ogres, who nodded.
The Plantars looked at each other, confused at how Anne had forgotten everything.

“Anyway, that’s enough fun and games.” Grime continued approaching Anne. “Now keep your mouth shut,”

Anne put her shoulders back, and her mouth slammed shut.

“Don’t move.”
Anne put her shoulders back again, and remained in that position like a statue.

Next thing she knew, Anne was tied up dangling above a pot of hot water.

“Is it boiling yet?” An ogre named Bogs asked, getting impatient.
“It’s not gonna boil if you just stare at it!” Another ogre named Fern bit back.

Meanwhile, the Plantars were tied to a tree as Yunan rested next to it.
“You couldn’t have shown us a picture of a bunch of ogres heading our way?” Sprig fumed to Yunan. “That would’ve been really helpful ya know!”

“Not how it works kid.” Yunan replied. “If I did, I would’ve told you! But here we are now.”

“Oh! I think I see bubbles!” An ogre named Mire beamed looking into the pot. Anne could only stare down into the boiling pot, thinking about how she never got to lift her curse before she died.

All of a sudden, Anne heard horse whines and a horses hooves running over.

The Plantars looked over to where the horses were coming from and gasped.

Princess Sasha was here with an army.

“Let her go!” Sasha yelled on her horse, she rode over to Mire, punching the ogre causing him to stumble backwards.

Unfortunately, he was holding the role that kept Anne afloat, making her fall.

Before she fell into the boiling water, Sasha managed to catch her before she could be cooked alive.

Grime ran into Sasha’s horse, causing the two teenagers to fall on the ground.
Using her sword, Sasha broke the ropes that were restraining Anne’s hands.
“Untie yourself!” Sasha told the Thai girl before running to battle some ogres.

Anne then stood up and began to untie the ropes around the ankles.

Grime picked up a large piece of wood with nails on it, and before he could hit Sasha with it, Sasha blocked the attack with her sword.

Sasha ducked from another attack from the  ogre, causing him to spin around. Allowing Sasha to kick him in the bum.

Some more ogres made their way over to the princess, Anne untied herself as quickly as she can so she could help the blonde.

Bogs was unfortunate to get both his ankles tied up to a rope from two guards on their horses, they road away with the ogre in tow over to a thin tree stump, where Bogs was hit in between his legs up to his sensitive part. Making him cry out in pain.

Grime then hit Sasha in the back with his weapon, causing her to fall on the ground. Grime chuckled and put his weapon on Sasha’s back.

Sasha rolled on her side and avoided the ogre’s next attack. She kicked him in the nose and stood up.

Anne had finally managed to untie the rope, and gasped when she noticed Fern getting a weapon to attack Sasha with from behind.

Anne took the rope and whipped the ogre with it, making him grunt and fall on the floor.

Sasha continued fighting Grime, she finally chopped off half of his weapon with her sword. Grime leaned up against a tree as Sasha aimed a sword at his neck.

“Truce! Truce! Please! Can’t we just get along?” Grime begged putting his hands up in surrender.

“Yeah right. Not after you killed my father.” Sasha growled, just wanting to chop off the ogres head.

“What? David was a good man! We lived in peace during his reign! Why would we kill him?” Grime asked in confusion.

Sasha raised an eyebrow and thought for a moment. She lowered her sword. “Fine. I’ll spare your life since you didn’t spare his.” Sasha growled. “Now take your friends and find lunch elsewhere.”

”Yes! Of course! Thank you your highness!” Grime sighed of relief, scurrying away with the rest of his friends.

As the ogres left, Sasha used her sword and cut the rope holding the Plantars to the tree. Anne rushed over and helped the Plantars free.
“Thank you kindly your highness.” Hop Pop thanked the princess.
“No problem.” Sasha smiled, she then turned to Anne.

“What are you doing out here?” Sasha asked Anne sheathing her sword. “With a bunch of elves for protection? Do you just have a kick out of near-death experiences?”

“No. I was fine. I had things in hand.” Anne replied helping the Plantars to her feet.

“Oh yeah, I could see that as you were dangling over the boiling cauldron.” Sasha scoffed. “Definitely lulling the ogres into into a sense of security.”

“Well, it would’ve worked if you hadn’t come barging in!” Anne fumed approaching the princess.

“I see the score currently stands at chivalry  two, gratitude zero.”

Anne scoffed. From behind the teens, Hop Pop attempted to hold up Yunan, only to stumble down due to the books heaviness.

Before Anne could come up with another snarky remark, she just sighed. “Look, I’m sorry alright? Thank you.”

“Your welcome.” Sasha smiled.

Anne smiled and then noticed Sasha’s right arm, it had a rip with blood staining it. “Your bleeding!”

”Huh?” Sasha looked at her arm and noticed the cut. “Oh, it’s just a scratch.”

“Come with me, I’ll help you patch that up.” Anne said grabbing Sasha’s wrist leading her to the River.

Sitting on a rock by the river, Sasha had her jacket off with her shirt still on as Anne wrapped her cut with a bandage.
It was a good thing she had packed some medical tools in case of an emergency.

Sasha couldn’t help but gaze adoringly at the Thai girl as she patched her up. Anne then looked at the blonde, Sasha immediately looked away blushing a deep red. Anne blushed a little at their eye contact as she tied the bandaid up.

“Done.” Anne spoke up.

“So, will I live?” Sasha asked with a smirk.

”Obviously.” Anne smirked as she stood up and walked away. Sasha grabbed her jacket and followed the Thai girl over to the horses.

“So, where are you headed?” Sasha asked Anne as she put her magenta jacket back on.

“Um, Giantville for a wedding. I’m meeting my godmother.” Anne explained.

“Oh, that’s on our way back to Lamia. We’ll accompany you there.”

“Oh, um, that’s not necessary.” Anne declined.

”But it’ll be a lot easier to rescue you if I don’t have to commute.”

“Look, I really appreciate the offer, but-“

”Anne! Are you insane? Tell her to come with us!” Sprig whispered to Anne.

Anne’s shoulders went back and she faced the princess. “Come with us!” She blurted.
Sasha smiled. “If you say so.”

Anne sighed and forced a smile. She gave a small glare at Sprig, who cheekily smiled in return.

A while later in the evening, the group road on horses on their way to Giantville by the ocean.
Sasha road on her white horse, while Anne rode on a purple horse who’s name was Bessie and had taken a liking to Anne.
As for the Plantars, they all shared a horse together, arguing a bit about their positions. Anne chuckled a little at the elves.

“So, traveling with a bunch of elves?” Sasha said to Anne. “Could your girlfriend not make it?”

“No.” Anne replied.

”Oh.” Sasha said, feeling a little sad.

“Because I don’t have one.”

”Oh.”

”What about you? Your girlfriend doesn’t mind being left alone?” Anne asked Sasha with a smirk.

“I don’t have a girlfriend.” Sasha replied.

“Oh?”

”I have many.”

”Oh…” There was a silence between the two for a moment.

“I’m kidding.” Sasha smirked breaking the silence. “You know, you shouldn’t believe everything you read in Medieval Teen.”

Anne rolled her eyes with a smile.

“Excuse me! Your highness!” Hop Pop spoke out catching up with Anne and Sasha

“Princess Sasha, permission to speak?” Hop Pop asked.

”Sure.” Sasha nodded.

“It just so happens my grandkids and I were on our way to meet a certain royal to discuss some career options currently unavailable to the status of elves.”

“Hop Pop, Sprig, and Polly want to petition the kingdom for the right to become a farmer, explorer, and engineer.” Anne explained.

“Really? Why?” Sasha asked.

”Why not? There were no rules against it when King David was alive.” Sprig spoke up.

”Not only that, elves are forced to sing and dance!” Polly growled.

“Well, that’s not really my area of expertise.” Sasha explained. “My advice to you guys is to talk to my uncle about it. I’m sure if you make a good argument, he’ll come around.”

The Plantars all made an annoyed expression on their face.
“Well, thank you for…the advice.” Hop Pop thanked, feeling slightly annoyed.
“More like horrible advice.” Polly whispered.

Anne looked at Sasha with a certain look on her face.

“What?” Sasha asked noticing Anne’s expression.

“Your about to become queen. You’ll have the power to make a difference in the world and you don’t even care!” Anne explained. “There’s so much you could do for this kingdom, and you don’t even have one idea!”

Sasha went quiet for a moment. “Well…it’s not like I asked to become queen. I had no saying in the matter!”

“Well, thanks to your uncle, there are lots of people who have no saying in the matter! Nobody should be forced to do things they don’t want to do!” Anne scowled thinking about her curse. “Take it from someone who knows.”

Anne then gently pulled the reins, giving the sign to Bessie to speed up pass the princess. Sasha followed the Thai girl speeding up as well.

”Anne? Anne! Wait up!” Sasha called out. She followed the girl over to a small hill of grass, where Anne stopped at the end of the hill.

Sashas eyes widened at the sight before her. Giants were working in the field, pulling vegetables and weeds. Their clothes were tattered and old, a sack of weeds and vegetables on their backs, and they all looked exhausted.

One giant looked at Sasha, only for a knight to whip him. “Your not finished yet! You work until sundown!” The knight harshly reminded.
The giant sighed and continued pulling out weeds.

Sasha looked over the field in shock, knights were at every corner, watching as the giants worked themselves to death.

“I don’t get it. The giants have always been  peaceful! Why are they working like slaves?” Sasha asked in horror. “I’m sure my uncle couldn’t know about this! He couldn’t…”

Anne looked at the princess sadly. “Or maybe he’s the one making them work.”

Sasha looked at Anne. “What? No. He wouldn’t! Right?”

Chapter Text

About an hour later, by the time the moon was in the sky, Anne, Sasha, and the Plantars got their horses settled outside a tavern, where a party was going on inside.

Sasha hadn’t spoken a word since witnessing the giants labor, she was too in shock to know such peaceful creatures would be forced to work like that.

“You know, you might be able to get to the bottom of all this at the party.” Anne told Sasha.

”Yeah, and maybe you can find your godmother.” Sasha nodded.

Anne smiled and then approached Bessie.

“Thanks Bessie.” Anne smiled at the horse gently stroking her nose. Bessie cooed and nuzzled Anne’s cheek, making the Thai girl giggle. Sasha smiled softly at Anne and Bessie.

Anne then took Yunan from the bag on Bessie’s saddle, and the group made their way inside the tavern, music played through the place, Giants dancing and laughing everywhere.

“Wow.” Anne said looking around at all the excitement.

“Huh. They’re actually not so bad.” Sprig admitted with a smile putting his hands on his hips. “And I thought they’d all be all big and scary.” He chuckled, only to bump into a giants leg, knocking him to the ground.
“I’m okay!”

“I’m not sure this is a good idea.” Sasha said to Anne. “They must hate the royal family!”

“No. They’ll respect your courage of showing up here.” Anne assured. “Besides, they don’t hold grudges. They’re bigger than that.” Anne smirked playfully nudging Sasha. Sasha chuckled a little.

“Princess Sasha?”

Anne and Sasha looked up to see a giant staring down at them. “What are you doing here?” He asked. The giant had white hair and a white beard, and brown skin. He wore a rawhide cap, a long dark blue jacket, black tattered pants, and brown boots.

“No grudges eh?” Sasha whispered hearing the anger in the giants voice. “Well, I came here to possibly have a little heart-to-heart since I was passing by!” Sasha explained, she then looked around at all the giants celebrating and dancing. “But now I’m thinking I should come back when there’s a little less drinking!”

Anne slapped Sasha’s arm lightly. “She’s here to hear your complains!” Anne explained.

The giant gave a gentle smiled down at the Princess. “Then welcome.” He smiled putting his hands out in a welcoming gesture. “I am Andrias Leviathan. Welcome to the party.”

Sasha smiled up at Andrias, feeling more comfortable.

“Um, I’m actually looking for someone!” Anne spoke up. “My godmother Leif?”

“She was over there earlier.” Andrias said pointing over to the bar. Anne looked over to where he was pointing to see a trio of fairies drinking. One fairy wore red clothing, one wore blue, and the last one wore green.

The green one fell over making some giants and the two other fairies laugh.

”Thank you.” Anne smiled, she turned to Sasha. “I’ll be right back.” She said before walking off.

”C’mon kids! Let’s go get some grub!” Hop Pop said to Sprig and Polly, the family walked over to the table full of food, leaving Sasha alone with Andrias. She chuckled up nervously at him.

Anne walked over to the group of fairies, clutching Yunan to her chest. “Um excuse me?” Anne asked approaching the green fairy who had fallen down. “Is Leif Perriweather here?”

“Too late sweetheart.” The fairy replied, Anne could hear the drunkenness in her voice. “She left about an hour ago.”

Anne sighed. “Do you know where I can find her?”

The fairy just shrugged. “Last I heard she was somewhere living in Lamia.”

“Do you know where the bathroom is…?” The fairy muttered walking past Anne.

Anne sighed again and looked down to Yunan in her hands. “Yunan, show me Leif.” She opened the book to see an image of Leif walking with her arms out as two knights watched her.

“Looks like she’s getting an FWI.” Yunan said.

“FWI?” Anne repeated in confusion. “What does that mean?”

”Flying while intoxicated.” Yunan translated.

Anne sighed annoyingly. “She could be anywhere!” She slammed Yunan shut harshly.
“Ow!” Yunan yelped.

“Oh! Sorry!” Anne apologized, she sighed and walked over to Sasha who was sitting on a table, listening to Andrias.

“I had no idea things were so bad.” Sasha said, feeling sad and guilty for the giants. “I promise as soon as I become queen, I’ll help you buy your farms back.”

”I’ll hold you to that.” Andrias smiled.

“Um, I’m sorry for interrupting, but I need to talk to Sasha.” Anne spoke up.

“No problem, we were done.” Andrias assured with a smile. “That’s a fine young woman you have here.” He then walked away.

“Oh no! Shes not fine! I-I mean mine! She is fine! But w-we’re not a-never mind.” Anne then faced Sasha. “Hey, have you seen the Plantars? We have to go. My godmother is on some kind of bender.”

“You can’t leave now, it’s the middle of the night!” Sasha protested standing up. “You have to at least stay for the party!”

Anne’s shoulders went back, she sighed. “Okay, I’ll stay.”

“Oh, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but you don’t have to stay you know. I don’t want to make you do anything you don’t want to do.”

Anne smiled softly at Sasha as she felt her shoulders position normally. “Thank you Sasha. For everything, really. So I’ll see you around?” Anne then turned around and made her way to find the Plantars.

“But, I wished you would stay.” Sasha spoke out from behind. Anne looked over her shoulder and saw Sasha push a lock of her blonde hair behind her ear. ”But you really don’t have to.”

Anne smiled softly and turned around to face the blonde. “I guess one more night wouldn’t hurt.”

Sasha smiled at the Thai girl. “Okay.”

A while later, Anne had put away her cloak as she sat on a table with Sasha, laughing at a joke the blonde had made. The night had been going better than she could’ve ever expected.

“So, you’re looking for your godmother, Leif?” Sasha asked, one hand on her knee.

“Yeah, she was supposed to be here, and I have no idea where she is.” Anne explained. “And I need to find her as soon as possible because…I miss her.”

Sasha smiled, an idea then came to mind. “You know, have you ever thought about trying the hall of records?”

”No?”

“We have every years census in the castle. I mean, it’s not open to everyone, but I could probably pull a few strings.”

Anne beamed with delights. “Sasha, you have no idea what that would mean to me!”

“Well, then it’s settled! You come with me to Lamia tomorrow!”

“Okay!” Anne couldn’t help but squeal a little, she wrapped her arms around Sasha laughing.
Sasha blushed, but happily returned the hug. The two broke apart from the hug after a moment, big smiles on their faces.

The two then blushed realizing how close they were and immediately pulled apart.

“I’ve gotta hide! They’re after us!” The two heard Sprig say.
Anne and Sasha looked at the Plantars, who climbed onto the table as fast as they could.

”Who?” Anne asked.

”The giants!” Polly replied. “They want us to sing! You know we don’t sing!”

”There they are!” Andrias smiled approaching the elves with a couple other giants. “Our little entertainers!”

“Um,” Anne and Sasha began to stand up.
“Mr Leviathan? I know you may find this hard to believe, but the Plantars here don’t sing.” Anne explained.

”Well, how about you then?” Andrias asked.

“Me?” Anne laughed. “Oh no! I couldn’t!”

“Oh come on!” Andrias encouraged.

Anne laughed nervously, knowing exactly what was coming. “Please don’t.”

”Sing!” Andrias yelled with his arms out.

Anne felt her shoulders go back, she closed her eyes in annoyance as a spotlight came over her.

“Can…anybody….” She singed. Anne touched the area below her neck and cleared her throat. The curse had made her done lots of things in the past, but this certainly was different.

“Find me…” She looked at Sasha who nodded.

”Somebody to…”

“Looove!” A trio of giantess wearing sparkly clothes singed lifting their arms up.

A giant began to play piano. Anne looked around nervously. The Plantars all looked each other, was Anne actually going to perform?

“Each morning I get up, I die a little.”

“Can barely stand on my feet,”

“Take a look at yourself!”  The giantess singed, backing up Anne as a chorus.

“Take a look in the mirror and cry,”

Sasha laughed a little, impressed with how well Anne can sing.

“Take a look in the mirror and cry, yeah yeah!”

“I have spent all my years in believing you,”

“But I just can't get no relief, Lord~”

“Somebody!”

“Somebody!” The giantess echoed crossing their hands over their chest.

“Somebody!”

“Can anybody find me?” Anne placed her hands on her chest, just as the giantess did.

“Somebody to love.”

Anne smiled as the giants cheered for her, the Plantars smiled at the Thai girl, impressed.
Anne curtsied and waved, making her way off the stage.

”Louder!” A giantess called out.
Anne immediately walked back over to her position.

”Come on, louder!” Another giantess cheered.

“Got no feel, I got no rhythm,”

“I just keep loosing my beat!”

“You just keep losing and losing!”

“I’m okay, I’m alright.”

“She’s alright! She’s alright!”

“I ain't gonna face no defeat!”

“I just gotta get out of this prison cell!”

“One day I'm gonna be free, Lord!”

“Somebody!” Anne gestured her arm to the crowd for them to echo her.

“Somebody!” The crowd echoed.

“Can anybody find me? Somebody to looooovvvveee!”  Anne lifted her arms a little happily, enjoying herself a bit.

“Get a little more song!” A giant requested.

Anne’s shoulders went back. She began to dance a little. Sasha and the Plantars eyes perked up a little.

”Everyday!”

”Everyday!”

“I try, and I try, and I try!”

“But everybody wants to put me down,”  Anne leaned back putting her hands in the air and then went down on her knee.

“They say I'm going crazy!”  Anne bounced up and twirled her fingers next to her head.

”They say I got a lot of water in my brain,”   Anne swung her fists back and forth.

“No I got no common sense,”

”I’ve got nobody left to believe in.”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!”
Anne pumped her fist in the air a couple times, the crowd doing the same gesture and singing along with her.

“Dance!” Another giant called out.

Anne then put her arms out, and twirled around to make a pose with her arms out. She spin around again.

Everyone cheered and a giant played guitar. Andrias smiled, impressed with Anne’s performance.

The crowd clapped around and singed.

“Ooh, ooh!”

Anne continued twirling around, she then leaned back with her arms back and then went down on her knees and rose up slowly.

”Find her…somebody to love!”  The crowd singed.

Anne began twirling around again, she then shook her hips and pointed with her hands out.

“Find her…somebody to love!”

Anne leaned back again and kicked her legs out, she then twirled around again.

”Find her…somebody to love!”

Anne twirled her way over to Sprig, who caught the brunette in his arms, only to throw her back out.

”Can anybody find me?”

Anne leaped over to the edge of the table, where Sasha pulled her back, Anne twirled around, Sasha caught the Thai girl by the waist as Anne wrapped her right arm around the blondes neck. The two blushed at each other, noticing how close their faces were.

”Somebody toooo…looooovvve!” Anne vocalized with a smile, Sasha smiled and dipped Anne down lower.

”Find me!”

Sasha then pulled Anne back up as the crowd continued singing. Anne wrapped her arms around Sasha’s neck while Sasha wrapped her arms around Anne’s waist. Both of them resting their chins on the others shoulders.

”Somebody!”

The two teens began to spin around slowly, Anne sighed in Sasha’s warm embrace. She then noticed the Plantars looking at her.

Sprig grinned laughing a little with his hands together on his mouth. While Polly gave Anne a thumbs up with a grin.
As for Hop Pop, he was looking at an elderly giantess who looked about his age, who waved at him. Hop Pop smiled flirtatiously and waved back.

”Tooooo,”

”Love!”

The giants all cheered as the song came to an end. Anne and Sasha broke free of their dance and faced the cheering crowd.

Sasha put her arms out towards Anne, in a way of presenting her to the crowd.

The Plantars clapped happily for Anne, cheering her the loudest.

Anne smiled and bowed, feeling proud of herself.

An hour later after the performance, Hop Pop sat on a chair next to an elderly giantess named Sylvia.

“You know, I have a thing for singers.”

“Really? Well, being an elf myself, I happen to love singing!” Hop Pop smirked until pausing for a moment. “I don’t actually, I prefer farming.”

Sylvia just smiled. “I figured you weren’t after you didn’t perform earlier, but I was honestly just trying to find a way to connect with you.”

”Oh.” Hop Pop nervously chuckled, a pink blush on his cheeks. “I hope you don’t mind me saying this, but you’re a lot prettier than I imagined a giantess to be.”

”Oh I know.” Sylvia nodded. “Giants are suppose to be big, ugly, and mean. It’s because of stories like Jack and the Beanstalk! Stinking grim brothers…”

”That’s exactly what I say!”

From nearby on the table, Sprig and Polly watched in disgust as Hop Pop flirted with Sylvia.

In front of the fireplace on the large couch, Anne and Sasha sat down on the couch and watched the interaction.
“Believe it or not, I’ve seen weirder couples.” Anne admitted, thinking about Olivia and Yunan. “I mean, none that immediately came to mind, but still. I’ve seen things.” Anne laughed, Sasha laughed along with the Thai girl.

“Man, my stepsister Maggie would die if she knew I was here. She’s the president of your fan club you know?” Anne continued laughing, she could already see Maggie’s red face and cracking knuckles.

”Ah yes, I remember her. Now I know exactly what name to put on the restraining order for stalking.” Sasha nodded, Anne burst out into laughter at Sasha’s respond, Sasha laughing along.

”But seriously, you’re lucky to have siblings. I don’t have a brother or sister.” Sasha explained. “My mother died before she could have more children…”

”Oh I’m really sorry Sasha.” Anne apologized for her loss. “My mother passed away too…” Anne sighed thinking about her deceased mother, but then remembered something about her. “You know, she used to sing me to sleep every night.”

“My father used to sing me to sleep too.” Sasha added. “Loudly, and very off key, but …I still miss him.”

“I mean, I have Xavier, I guess. He’s not such a bad guy. He risked his life to save my father, and brought me up as as his own daughter.” Sasha explained. “I know you don’t like his politics, but I’m sure when I tell him about the giants he will correct the situation.”

”Yeah, or you could?” Anne suggested. “You know, it took a lot of guts for you to come here. Look at the way you smoothed things over, you’re a natural at this!”

Sasha looked at Anne for a moment and then smirked. “Was that a compliment?”

Anne rolled her eyes with a smirk. “Almost. Now don’t get all big-headed. Your crown won’t fit.”

Sasha chuckled. “You know what? Tomorrow, I'm going to go to my uncle, and tell him to repeal the elven constrictions. Hop pop will have his days in the farm back, Polly will make her own creations, and Sprig will be off to explore the world if I have anything to say about it!”

Anne looked at Sasha and then smiled. She was finally going to fix the elf restrictions, not just for the Plantars and other elves, but for her.

Something about Sasha made her feel so…warm. Loved, like she could be herself around her without being commanded to do things.
Well, maybe being commanded to wait and untie yourself were an exception, but Sasha gave her a choice to stay at the party.

Anne then leaned closer to Sasha. “Hey, I think you’re going to be a great queen some day.” She smiled. “Your father would’ve been proud.”

Sasha looked into Anne’s brown eyes. “Thanks…” Sasha smiled a bit, a blush on her cheeks. “You know, I think he would’ve liked you.”

“Really?”

“Mmhm.”

The two teens stared at each other for a moment, lost in each others eyes, wanting to stay in this moment forever.
Until Sasha finally broke the silence.

”Kiss me.”

The words just came out of Sasha’s mouth. She didn’t know where they came from, but Sasha had a feeling it was in her heart. The question was if Anne would accept it.

Almost without hesitation, Anne began to lean in close to Sasha, Sasha retuning the gesture, until she paused.

”That…that’s not an order you know.” Sasha admitted, aware of how Anne seemed to always obey people, unaware of her curse.

Anne just smiled softly at the princess. “I know.”

Sasha returned the smile, and leaned back into Anne with her eyes closed. Anne closed her eyes as she moved her head closer to Sasha.
And then…

Their lips met.

The kiss was warm, warmer than the fire in front of them.

Their lips fit perfectly onto each other, almost like two puzzle pieces.

All of sudden, Anne had forgotten all about why she had came to Giantville.

Now all she wanted to do was be here, with Sasha, warm by the fire as they laughed together.

And the best part about the kiss?

Anne didn’t feel her shoulders go back at all.

Notes:

THEY KISSED!!!!!

This chapter was a lot of fun, for obvious reasons lmao.
The Somebody to love and kiss scene always lived rent free in my head lmao.

Chapter 7: Hop To It

Summary:

The group makes it to Lamia, and meets Sir Xavier.

Unfortunately, Maggie and Gabby are there as well.

Notes:

Sorry this took a while. I wanted to take a little break and school got in the way.
Also, I should probably mention this,
My plan is to have 10 or under chapters for this.
The book will probably be finished by Thanksgiving but in the wise words of Hop Pop, “Time will tell.”

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

In a small cottage in Lamia, Olivia was folding some laundry as Parisia’s makeup was done up by a hired makeup artist for the ball.

The spoiled sisters Maggie and Gabby were off at Sir Xavier’s castle for a tour.
This left Olivia stuck with Parisia in the house they were saying at, given by Xavier for a place to stay since they were invited to the ball.
She thought about Anne and Yunan, hopefully they were on there way home by now and that dreaded curse had been lifted.

”I want to look twenty-five at tonight’s ball.” Parisia grinned confidently as she looked in the mirror. She then turned to the makeup specialist Bernardo. “What do you suggest?”

"A Time Machine." Olivia muttered.

Bernardo looked at the woman in thought for a moment, before reaching to a shelf and grabbing a purple bottle.

”I suggest our newest procedure.” He said. “Bat faces and oxen blood. We call it Batox. It works wonders, but I do caution you. Some people have a temporarily bad reaction to this.”

”It’s perfect. I’ll take it.” Parisia grinned as she snatched the bottle, Olivia rolled her eyes.

At that moment, Bee had entered the room. Olivia looked at the man in shock and rose from her seat. “Bee?” She asked.

Bee smiled at the household fairy and then turned to Parisia, a bit confused why a strange man was in the house. Parisia turned to her husband with a confused look. “Bee? What are doing here?”

”I’m in town business and heard you were here. I came to see Anne, but I was told she wasn’t here.” Bee explained.

Olivia looked down in worry.

“Of course she’s here! I don’t know who told you that and why, she’s just…out on a tour of the castle with Maggie and Gabby!” Parisia lied, not really caring where Anne was but didn’t want Bee to freak out.

”Oh, well I bet she’ll be so happy when I come back. I’ve missed her so much.”

Olivia sighed to herself, knowing Anne wouldn’t be with the sisters when they come home. If only she was able to tell Anne they left to Lamia.

Anne and Sasha didn’t quite talk much since the kiss. After the kiss they had just rested together by the warm fire, snuggling a bit together, keeping each other so warm they almost didn’t need the fire.

Anne was certain at this point, she loved Sasha.
But could they really make it work between them?

Sasha would be queen, hell in a day actually. The coronation was tomorrow.

Not to mention, Maggie.
Maggie would kill Anne if she ended up with the princess she loved a little too much. Maybe even obsessively.

But Anne couldn’t care less what Maggie thought.

But anyway, Anne, Sasha, the Plantars, and Sasha’s army were now riding on their horses through the meadows.

Finally, the group noticed the Lamia castle not so far away in the distance.
Anne and Sasha turned to each other and smiled, everyone sped their horses up as they made their way into Lamia.

At the castle stables, everyone set their horses into their respective stables. Anne said her goodbyes Bessie, who she was really going to miss.

As Anne and Sasha went inside the castle, a guard had stopped the Plantars.

”Hold it.” He commanded.

“Uh, excuse us sir, but we’re with them.” Hop Pop tried to explain pointing to the teenagers who were up ahead of them.

”Are you singing at the coronation?” The Guard asked, completely ignoring Hop Pops defense.

“Uh, no. Absolutely not.” Polly huffed.

“No elves in the palace unless they’re performing.”

”WHAT?!” Sprig yelled throwing his arms up. “Listen up, we may be elves, but we-“

Sprigs sentence was interrupted by him and his family getting thrown across the stable into a pile of hay.

Inside the castle, a woman was giving a group of girls a tour of the castle.
Most of these girls were members of the Princess Sasha Fan Club, so Maggie and Sasha were there as well, the President pin on Maggie’s shirt.

Every thing the tour guide would say, the girls would squeal at the fact Sasha had used or been on it, it really creeped the tour guide out.

The Tour Guide then waved her red flag in front of a couple portraits of Sasha and Xavier, looking like the regal royals they were in every portrait. Of course, the girls squealed at the sight of Sasha.

“These portraits were recently commissioned in honor of Princess Sasha’s coronation ball tomorrow-“ The Tour Guide presented, before a pair of doors opened where Princess Sasha herself stepped out along with a young woman who looked her age with curly brown hair wearing a blue cloak.

The two were smiling and laughing with each other at a joke Sasha had made in a conversation they were having, before their smiles faded noticing the fan club nearby.

The girls all immediately squealed and screamed at the sight of their princess. Maggie and Gabby couldn’t do either of those because of how shocked they were to see Anne with their princess. Anne had noticed her stepsisters too, and her eyes widened in shock and horror.

As the club began to run over to the woman, Sasha immediately grabbed Anne’s hand and made a run for it. The club chased after the princess as the Tour Guide tried to call them back, while Maggie and Gabby stood there in shock.

Maggie’s face went from shock to anger as she gridded her teeth and clenched her fist at the fact Anne was with her princess.

After scrambling around for a while, trying to get away from the crazed fans, Anne and Sasha finally hid behind a wall.
Once the club was gone, the two woman sighed of relief. Anne’s relief was short-lived as she remembered her stepsisters.

“This is bad. Why are they here?” Anne asked herself putting her hands on top of her brown curls. “Okay, I’m sorry if I’m rushing, but I really need to find my godmother now!” Anne then remembered something else.

”Wait, where are the Plantars? Oh no, where’d they go?” Anne worried looking around for the elves.

“Hey, don’t worry.” Sasha assured with a gentle smile placing her hands on Anne’s shoulders. “I’ll sent the guards to find them, they probably haven’t gone far.”

Anne smiled softly at the princess and took a deep breath. “Alright. Thanks Sash.”
Sasha blushed slightly at the nickname, and before she could say anything,

”Sasha!”

Anne and Sasha turned their heads around and saw Sir Xavier standing there, holding his staff in hand with his regular royal attire. Anne noticed a black snake was on his staff.

Anne gasped slightly at the man, she had always despised him, but had never met him in person. She really hoped he didn’t see her at the mall opening during her attempted protest.

“Hey Uncle Xavier.” Sasha smiled at her uncle, Anne gave a small smile.

“I’ve been wondering where you were.” Xavier smiled in a strange way at his niece. He then eyed the Thai girl next to her. “Oh, and who’s this lovely young lady?”

Sasha smiled and wrapped an arm around Anne in a way that made Anne feel more safer.

”This is Anne Boonchuy of Wartwood. Anne, this is my uncle Xavier.” Sasha introduced.

”Hello.” Anne smiled at the man, but a small and almost forced one since she still resented him.

“Hello.” Xavier smiled.

”And this is his assistant, Night.” Sasha added pointing to the black snake.

”Heyyyy.” Night grinned.

“So, I trust your journey was pleasant?” Xavier asked.

”Oh, yeah. We had a little run-in with the ogres on the way, but Sasha got the best of them.” Anne smiled.

Xavier eyed his niece. “Sasha, you could’ve been killed. Like your father was. But, like I always say, one has to grin and bear it. Grin and bear it.”

At that sentence, Anne felt her chest puff up and she grinned. Xavier noticed Anne’s out of no where smile and raised an eyebrow.

”Now, Sasha, I need to talk to you.” Xavier continued.

“Right, of course. I just-“ Sasha then noticed Anne’s grin. Anne immediately put a hand over her smile and giggled, Sasha awkwardly laughed along with her, not knowing what they were laughing at. Xavier looked at the women with a confused look.

“I just need to take Anne to the hall of records.” Sasha finished.

“Yes. Well, hop to it then.” Xavier said.

Anne’s shoulders went back, and she began hopping away, much to Sasha and Xavier’s confusion. Sasha let out an awkward chuckle and joined Anne in her hopping.

Xavier gave a scowl once both of the teens left the room. “That girl is odd.”

”Indeed she is.” Night agreed. “And it appears she’s been filling the princesses head with dangerous thoughts.”

Xavier growled at that. “We’ll have to do something.”

Anne sat down in a chair in front of a desk in the hall of records. A woman placed down a large book in front of Anne, dust spreading once it was down. Anne coughed and waved the dust away.

”Here’s the latest census. The names are listed first by location then species. I say, good luck.” The woman clarified.

“Thank you.” Anne smiled as the woman walked out of the room.

“I better go now. Uncle Xavier wants me to have a fitting for my outfit for the ball and coronation.” Sasha said to Anne. “So, I’ll see you at the ball tonight?”

”When did I say I was going to the ball with you?” Anne smirked.

”Well, I did give you an invitation.”

“Wait, really? It must’ve been delivered after I left home.”

“Oh. Well,” Sasha then got down on one knee and took Anne’s hand, Anne immediately started blushing.

“S-Sasha? Wha-what are you doing???” Anne exclaimed, the heat growing on her face. Was she going to seriously ask a question like this?

”Anne Boonchuy of Wartwood, will you be my dance at the ball tonight?” Sasha requested with her other hand on her chest. She delivered the question dramatically like a knight or a prince would to a princess.

A wave of relief came over Anne. “Oh…y-yes! Of course! Maybe I’ll have time.”

Sasha smiled, she stood up still holding Anne’s hand. “Great!” Sasha then kissed the back of Anne’s hand. “I’ll be awaiting you m’lady.” Sasha then let go of Anne’s hand and exited the hall of records.

Anne was left blushing madly, her face red as a tomato. She smiled softly as she stroked the back of her hand Sasha had kissed.

“So, you and the princess huh?” A familiar voice asked. Anne looked to her right and saw Yunan smirking at her.

“What? What are you talking about?” Anne asked, still blushing.

”Girl, I just saw all of that. I also saw the kiss last night.”

Anne’s blush grew deeper as she remembered how she had placed Yunan nearby the fire place.
Anne shook off her thoughts, it was time to get to the point.

”Look, we have way more important things to discuss right now.” Anne said opening the large book.

“Alright, alright.” Yunan laughed. “By the way, sorry I couldn’t help more. I don’t have a census.”

“It’s alright Yunan.” Anne assured as she flipped through the first through pages.

”You sure? Look at the size of that thing! I may have a restaurant guide, but it isn’t even as big as that!”

Anne have a small laugh and then turned back to the book. “Leif, I really hope your in there.”

Sasha couldn’t stop smiling as she looked in the mirror at her reflection. She was on cloud nine right now from Anne.

She honestly thought it was adorable how Anne mistook Sasha’s request to be her date as a marriage proposal.

Especially considering how the real one was going to happen tonight.

None of the seamstresses pokes from the needles could even break her joy.

“Ow!” Sasha yelped at a needle poke.

Or not.

“Sorry your highness.” One of the seamstress apologized.

”No worries.” Sasha smiled, back on her train. She then turned to her uncle.

”You know Uncle, Anne has a lot of interesting opinions about the kingdom.” Sasha spoke up. “You should hear them.”

”Oh really?” Xavier asked, sounding a little annoyed. “I can’t wait.”

”One of them is the giants work conditions. It’s insane. They’re being worked to death like slaves.” Sasha explained. “But thankfully, I’ve talked to them and they’re definitely open to negotiations-“

”The only negotiations between me and the giants will be our vegetable deliveries.” Xavier interrupted.

Night laughed, Xavier joined the snake in his laughter. Sasha however, did not laugh.

“This isn’t a joke, Uncle Xavier.” Sasha sternly told.

”We’ll talk about it later, Sasha. After your coronation.” Xavier assured, not seeming to really care.

Sasha sighed. “Fine. But we will talk about this later and set things right.”

”Of course.” Xavier then began to walk out of the room.

Sasha stared at her reflection in the mirror for a moment, before taking a deep breath. “I…I’m going to ask her to marry me.”

Xavier stopped in his tracks and turned to the blonde and approached her. “Who? This Anne Boonchuy of Wartwood?”

”Yes. Tonight at the ball.” Sasha nodded, she then smiled. “The same time and the same place that dad proposed to mom.”

Xavier and Night looked at each other. Before Xavier could say something, the screams of girls outside the room interrupted him.

”Ugh, what now?” Xavier grumbled before walking over to where the ruckus was coming from. Sasha sighed as her uncle left the room, she was hoping to convince him why she wanted to marry Anne and why she loved her.

Outside a door, two guards were keeping two struggling teen girls in their grasps.

”Get off of me!” The red head with braids screamed.

”What is the meaning of this?” Xavier yelled.

The two girls went frozen.

”Y-your majesty!” The girl with braids smiled bowing. “We didn’t mean to intrude, we are just looking for our stepsister, Anne.”

Xaviers eyes perked up. “Anne Boonchuy?”

“Yes! Of Wartwood!” Gabby smiled.

A smirk came on Xavier’s face, an idea came to mind.

“Guards, unhand these lovely young ladies. Now, how would you two feel about some tea?”

“So, Anne is your sister?” Xavier asked in his office, holding his cup of tea.

”Step sister actually.” Maggie corrected holding a cup of tea. Gabby meanwhile slobbered down her whole tea.

”Really?”

“Yes, unfortunately.”

“Tell me, what do you know about Anne?”

”Whats in it for me?” Maggie asked with a raised eyebrow, putting down her tea cup.

“How about…that your eyeballs remain inside your head?” Night smirked. Maggie and Gabby tensed up, feeling intimated by this snake.

”Now, now, Night. We like these girls. They’re our friends.” Xavier reminded parting Night on the head much to the snakes annoyance. Maggie and Gabby smiled.

“Now, why don’t we just cut to the chase, hm? I might even be willing to throw Princess Sasha into the deal.” Xavier went on. Maggie’s eyes lit up and her smile widened.

“After the coronation, she’ll need to take a king or queen. Or, her hand in marriage?”

Maggie tapped her fingers on the desk. That queen was going to be her if it was the last thing she would do.

”The eldest daughter of course. But if you want that to happen, I’m going to need some things about Anne-“

”Anne does everything she is told!” Maggie burst standing up from her seat. “I don’t know why, but she just does! She can’t help it!”

Xavier smirked. “Interesting…”

A plan then came to mind. A plan that would need to involve Anne and get rid of Sasha.

Notes:

I know I’m a day late, but Happy Halloween!

Chapter 8: Chained to a Dagger

But Anne refuses to go through with this and attempts a plan to avoid the princesses death.

Chapter Text

In the Hall of Records, Anne continued flipping through the pages resting her right cheek in her palm.

”I can’t find anything in any of these books!” Anne complained, she then grabbed Yunan.

”Yunan, show me Leif.” Anne opened Yunan, revealing a moving image of Leif laying in bed snoring. Her clothes were scattered everywhere over her bedroom.

”Looks like she’s still sleeping.” Yunan commented.

Anne groaned and plopped her face on the desk. “I don’t know where else to-“ Anne began to say before noticing a crumpled paper laying on the floor of Leif’s bedroom. Anne took a magnifying glass out to get a closer look at the paper.

” ‘Dun Flyin Retirement Community For Faeries’?” Anne read, she could’ve sworn she had read that name before in the census. She then closed Yunan and flipped through the census again until she found the list of hostels in Lamia. She went though the list of residents, and right there in the ‘L’ category, was ‘Leif’.

“Dun Flyin’ Retirement Community for Faeries, Lamia Heights!” Anne exclaimed, she burst from her seat and smiled at Yunan. “Hah! Yunan! We found her!”

”Great job kid!” Yunan smiled. “Now we-“

”Hello Miss Boonchuy.” Xavier smiled walking into the room. Yunan quickly disappeared into the window, still keeping an ear out for the conversation and Anne since she knew this Xavier was bad news.

”Hello your highness.” Anne smiled, still feeling intimated by the man.

”I hope you have found everything to your satisfaction?” Xavier asked with his hands together. Something about the way this man smiled sent a bad feeling down Anne’s spine.

“Yes. I have.” Anne nodded.

”Good, good…” Xavier then eyed one of the books on the desk. He then swatted the book onto the floor. “Oh, how clumsy of me. Pick it up, Anne.”

Anne immediately bent down and picked up the book.

”Very good, now touch your toes.” Xavier commanded beginning to circle around Anne.

Anne then reached down and stroked her toes. Her face filled with horror realizing what was happening.

”Oh no…”

”Oh yes.” Xavier smirked. “Now, why don’t you pat your head,”

Anne stood up and and pat her head with her hand. She noticed Night on the candle on the walls, snickering at all of this like it was some show to him.

“And rub your tummy while your at it.”

Anne began rubbing her tummy with her other hand while still patting her head.

”And jump up and down.”

Anne started jumping. “Please…stop…” She pleaded.

”I think I decide on that Miss Boonchuy.” Xavier smirked. “Hey, I bet you know this one…put your left foot in, and your left foot out,”

Anne stopped patting her head and rubbing her tummy and put her left foot back and in, making the girl yelp.

“Put your left foot in and shake it all about!”

Anne yelped as she put her left foot in and began shaking her body.

”Shake, shake, shake!” Xavier continued singing. “Shake your booty!”

Anne then began shaking her bum forcibly.

Xavier laughed and clapped. “Yes! This is marvelous!”

”Hate to crash the party, but Xavier, evil plans remember?” Night reminded.

”Yes you’re right.” Xavier turned to Anne, who was gripping onto the shelf to slow down her shaking. “Okay, stop!”

Anne yelled as she finally stopped shaking and stumbled onto the floor. She stood up and glared at the man. “Alright, you’ve figured me out Xavier. Now what do you want?”

Xavier smirked sinisterly. “Well, as you know, the royal ball is tonight. Amidst your frolicking and romance, Sasha will sweep you away to the hall of mirrors.”

”Then, just before midnight, she will take you by the hand and ask you a question.”

”How do you know all this?” Anne asked.

”We know everything, my dear.” Xavier smiled wickedly, he then took a sharp dagger out of his robe. “And the one thing we know with most certainty, you will take this dagger, and plunge it through her heart and kill her.”

Anne gasped in horror when she felt her shoulders go back. No. She couldn’t kill Sasha. She just wouldn’t.

”NO! NO, I WON’T!” Anne screamed.

“Oh yes you will.” Xavier evilly chuckled. “You will because I order you too. Besides my dear Anne, that’s the only reason you live for. Following orders.”

Anne couldn’t fight back as her chest puffed up, tears grew in her eyes. She was going to kill Sasha.

”You know, I am so lucky you are here, Anne.” Xavier smirked sitting down in a chair, putting his legs on the desk. “This way, I won’t have to do the awful deed myself.”

Anne gasped and looked at Xavier. “You…you would kill your own niece?!”

”Why not? I killed my own brother.” Xavier shrugged.

“WHAT?!” Anne screamed, feeling shocked and angry at the same time. Xavier…had killed Sasha’s father.
“Why?”

”I wanted to be king, but the throne goes to the eldest.” Xavier growled, he then waved his hand to Anne in a dismissive matter. “Now go.”

Anne didn’t even notice as her shoulders went back as she walked away, she was too in shock.

“Oh wait, there is one more thing.” Xavier spoke sitting up and approaching Anne as the Thai girl stopped in her tracks.

”You will tell no one of this plan.”

Anne gripped the dagger as her shoulders went back again.
She was going to kill Sasha. The princess, the future queen, the one that always gave Anne a choice, the one Anne loved. Her tears landed on her reflection in the dagger.

“Alright, now you can go.” Xavier said, Anne walked out of the room.

There was no way in hell Anne was going to go through with this and kill Sasha.

She had to find Leif now.

Anne had left the castle and found Dun Flyin Retirement Community for Faeries. It was in the town square, a bit tucked away from the crowd.

Anne had made the mistake of leaving Yunan in the Hall of Records, but she didn’t have a choice when she left. Anne would’ve gone back and get her, but god knows what would have happened if she saw Xavier.

Anne approached a woman with her black hair in a bun taking out the trash at the front of the building. Anne realized this woman was a fairy and seemed to be a worker at the community.

”Um, hi.” Anne spoke to the fairy.

”How can I help you?” The fairy asked.

”I’m looking for Leif Periweather. Is she here? It’s kind of urgent.”

”Sorry sweetheart, she was kicked out last week.”

”Do you know where I can find her?”

”Nope.”

Anne gripped onto the edges of her cloak.
”You don’t understand, if I don’t find her, something terrible will happen!”

”Sweetie, finding her would be terrible.” The Fairy said before walking inside the building.

Anne sighed. “That’s true…”

Normally, Anne would’ve taken out Yunan and asked where Leif was, but Yunan wasn’t with her at the moment.

If Anne couldn’t find Leif and get her to take back the curse, Anne would have to keep Sasha safe from herself on her own.

Anne came up with an idea. An idea that would break hers and Sasha’s heart.

She later went to a local coffee shop and sat down at a small table where she took out a paper and pen and began writing. Anne’s tears began falling down onto the paper as she wrote.

Anne had delivered the letter to a royal servant, who brought the letter to Sasha.
Anne put her hood over her head and crossed her arms close to her chest as she begin to sob to herself.

Now if Anne had stayed away from Sasha until midnight had passed, Sasha would be safe.

But how long would that last?

Sasha was in her bedroom, getting ready for the ball as she adjusted the red cape on her back.

”Your highness,”

Sasha turned around and saw a servant walk into the room holding an envelope, he handed into the princess.
“A letter for you.”

“Thank you.” Sasha said taking the letter. The servant nodded and scurried out of the bedroom. Sasha opened the letter, not knowing what she would read would break her heart.

The letter was from Anne…saying her goodbyes to her.

Dear Sasha,

This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. And trust me, I have done many hard things in my life. So please, I hope you understand. The thing is…we can’t be together. I can’t tell you why. Please believe me, this is for the best and the only solution. I truly believe you will be a great queen, and I wish you the best.

Goodbye Sasha.

-Anne

Sasha felt her heart shatter in a million pieces as she read the last words. She glanced at the small blue velvet box on her desk which had a sapphire ring inside it.
It was the ring she was planning to use to propose to Anne, but now had no real purpose or use anymore.

Sasha sat down on her chair in sadness, upset at the fact she would never get to see Anne again.

Anne walked through Lamia, passing through all the people. Anne had stopped crying, but her heart was still broken in a million pieces. She then noticed the Plantars sitting on a patch of hay.

“Guys? Where have you been?” Anne asked approaching the elf family.

”We were thrown out of the castle because of this jerk, that’s what happened!” Polly fumed.

“Oh, I’m so sorry that happened, but here’s the thing, there’s something I need you guys to do for me.” Anne requested.

”Of course. Anything!” Sprig replied.

”Okay, I know I said anything, but this is just too much.” Sprig remarked as he stared at Anne.

Anne and the Plantars were all the way out from the city, in a field of sunflowers and daisies.
And Anne was chained up to a large tree with help from the Plantars.

“So, gonna explain why we did this?” Polly asked.

”Look, l need you all to go back into the forest and rally all the elves and giants you can find.” Anne told the family.

“You want us to go back there?” Hop Pop asked.

”Yes. We need all the help we can get.” Anne nodded. “Someone has to go into the castle, find Yunan, and keep Xavier away from Sasha.”

”What happened to Yunan?” Sprig asked. “And why do we-“

”I already told you, I can’t tell you!” Anne reminded. “But if you don’t, you all might very well be stuck singing Kumbaya the rest of your life.”

”Alright! Let’s go kids, off into the forest of certain death!” Hop Pop sighed leading the kids into the forest.
“Will anyone see us again? Who knows!”

”Thanks guys!” Anne called out.

“Yeah whatever.” Polly scoffed.

Anne took a deep breath. Once the Plantars came back with reinforcements, they would all protect Sasha and keep her away from her evil uncle.

Anne would do anything to protect Sasha even if it meant she would have to stay here for the rest of her life.

Sasha slumped in her throne resting her fist on her cheek as she watched everyone in the ballroom dance and talk, still upset about Anne.

Sasha was wearing a red suit with a pink cape attached to it with her blonde hair down. She didn’t feel like dancing or eating anything, she had planned to save her first dance with Anne.

But all of her plans were gone once Anne had sent that letter.

Sasha missed Anne so much, she missed her sassiness, her kindness, her curly brown hair. Most all, she missed…Anne.

”Where’s your little friend Sasha?” Night asked the princess in almost a taunting matter.

”Yes, she should be here by now.” Xavier added. Like Night, he asked it in a taunting matter.

”I…I don’t want to talk about it.” Sasha sighed turning away from her uncle.

At the side of the ballroom, Maggie and Gabby were by a table filled with objects that looked like they could cost a fortune.

Gabby, wearing a purple gown, tried to slip a golden candlestick into her purse, before Maggie snatched it and placed it back.

”Stop it! When you steal from here, you steal from me now!” Maggie growled, wearing a yellow gown. ”What do you mean?” Gabby asked.

”Duh. This is my future home now.” Maggie smirked proudly. Xavier had promised her she would be with her Sasha after the ball, and Maggie for one couldn’t wait to have her princess all to herself.

“Sasha, you should dance with that young lady with the braids over there.” Xavier suggested to his niece, pointing to Maggie. “I’ve heard she’s very interested in you.”

Sasha grimaced, knowing how Maggie was the one who supposedly stalked her.
“No thanks…I’m good.”

”Oh c’mon, you’ve seemed so beaten up tonight. Go have some fun.”

Sasha sighed and sat up from her throne. “Fine.” She walked over to the sisters, where Maggie was still holding the candle. The ginger froze once she saw the princess.

“Oh! Hi! I was just…polishing this!” Maggie smiled awkwardly rubbing the candle with her sleeve and placing it back on the table.

”Would you…like to dance?” Sasha forced a smile placing out her hand.

Maggie’s face immediately lit up.

”Are you kidding? That’s all she ever talks about!” Gabby smiled.

Maggie gave a glare to Gabby then smiled at the blonde. “I’d love to!” Maggie practically grabbed Sasha’s arm and dragged her to the dance floor. The two passed Parisia and Bee as they sat at a table.

Bee glared at his wife, whose face had been stretched into an uncomfortable position due to a bad reaction from the beauty product.

“Well, you wanted to look to look younger.” Bee scolded. “And if you spent less time on your face and more on your maternal duties, we’d know where Anne is right now!”

Parisia just rolled her eyes. “Oh please, who even cares about that little brat?”

”Excuse me?”

”Shes always in the way and is an embarrassment!”

”Don’t talk about my daughter that way. She’s your stepdaughter too.”

”Well, I wish she wasn’t! Maybe it’s a good thing Anne left, we won’t have to deal with her anymore!”

Bee clenched his fists at his wife, seeing her true colors. He married her so Anne would have a mother again, but that wasn’t what happened at all. “If that’s how you see my daughter, then expect a divorce after tonight.”

Parisia froze. “Bee, you can’t be serious-“

”I’m serious. I will not be with someone who will treat my daughter with such cruelty.”

Parisia looked down and growled.

Back to the meadow, Anne was still chained up to the tree, where it would creek and tug as Anne pushed back farther as she yelled in frustration.
As horrible as this was, all that mattered was that Sasha would be safe.

It was half an hour till midnight. Sasha would be okay.

”Guys, please hurry…” Anne whispered, praying the Plantars were on the way.

At that moment in the distance, there was a clasp of thunder and a clash of pink lightning. Anne looked up, and a ball of pink energy zoomed around and landed on a patch of sunflowers with a scream.

The mysterious figure emerged from the patch and let out a gasp.
“Woah! Hey…This isn't the salad bar at Brelly's!”

Anne noticed the woman had ginger hair and a brown cloak, Anne immediately realized who it was.

”Leif!”

After searching for days, there was her godmother, right in front of her!

”LEIF! LEIF!” Anne yelled in delight, she let out a laugh, overjoyed the fairy was here.

Leif turned around and looked towards the Thai girl and raised an eyebrow. “Oh my goodness.” She approached the girl chained up to a tree.

”Do I know you, child? And what on earth happened to you?”

“Anne Boonchuy of Wartwood! You gave me a gift!” Anne answered.

“Oh yes! I remember you! The obedient one.” Leif nodded. “My, have you grown.”

Annes face fell at the word “obedient”. She was reminded of why she needed to find her godmother.

”I am so happy to see you! I’ve been looking everywhere for you! You have no idea what I’ve been through!” Anne explained. “Look, I need you to take the gift back.”

Leif’s smile turned into a frown and she gave a sharp look to the Thai girl. “Take it back? I don’t think so.” Leif began to walk away before Anne called back.

”It’s not that I’m not grateful for it! I really am! But because of the gift, I’m about to do something horrible to this girl I really like, pretty sure even love.”

Leif’s expression didn’t change. “Yeah, no. Everyone loves my gifts.” She proudly smiled.

”That’s debatable…” Anne whispered, she then noticed Leif turn around. “LEIF! Please! I’m begging you! I will do anything you ask! Please. Take it back.”

Leif groaned. “You don’t like my gift? Find. Get rid of it yourself.”

”But how?”

”I don’t know.” Leif shrugged. “Don’t blame me for your problems. Did I chain your ass up to this tree? Huh?”

“Well-“

“Huh?”

”But you-“

”Nope!” Leif interrupted.
Anne looked down, Leif wasn’t gonna give the gift back. No matter how much Anne begged.

”And in fact, just to prove to you how much of a gem I am, I’ll unchain you.” Leif smiled.

Annes eyes widened. “WAIT! NO-“

Not listening to the Thai girl, Leif flicked her finger, and pink smoke emerged from the tree, and Anne was unchained.

“Aren’t I fabulous?” Leif smiled. Anne just yelled as she hugged onto the tree.

”Now, a pretty girl like you should be at the ball!”

”WHAT?!”

”Be dancing with the princess!”

”NO! I CAN’T GO!”

“Well, not dressed like that.” Leif flicked her finger again, and pink smoke billowed out and surrounded Anne.

When the smoke cleared, Anne was wearing a lovely royal blue sleeveless ballgown. Unfortunately for Anne, the dress had pockets. The dagger Xavier had given her was in one of them.

Anne’s brunette hair was tied up in a bun, with some of her fluffy hair still visible. Some jewelry was on Anne too, with diamond earrings and a sapphire necklace.
Anne stood up on her knees, not even able to acknowledge how lovely the gown was.

“Now that’s what I’m talking about!” Leif grinned.

”Okay…that hurt.” Anne groaned as she placed a hand on the tree, only for her body to lurk away from the tree due to Leif’s magic.
Anne screamed and tried to hang onto a tree branch to keep her from going to the castle against her free will, only to just break off the branch.

”Give, give, give.” Leif shook her head, she finally made her exit, not even acknowledging Anne’s screams. “You’re welcome.” Leif smiled walking away.

”YOU ARE SERIOUSLY THE WORST FAIRY GODMOTHER EVER!!!” Anne screamed as she forcibly walked to the castle, where at midnight she would kill the only person who would always give Anne a choice.

The person she fell in love with.

And Anne couldn’t do anything now.

Chapter Text

Sasha waltzed with Maggie in the ballroom as the music went on, Sasha was hating every minute of it. She just wished Anne was here.

”So, tell me about your sister.” Sasha said, trying to start a conversation, and wanting to talk about Anne.

”Gabby?” Maggie scoffed. “She’s an idiot.”

”No. Anne.” Sasha corrected.

”Oh.” Maggie groaned, her scowl deepening, it immediately turned into a sweet smile. “I don’t want to talk about her. Let’s just talk about us.” Maggie leaned in close to Sasha, making her uncomfortable.

U-us?”

“It sounds even more wonderful when you say it.” Maggie smiled dreamily leaning her head on Sasha’s chest. Sasha tried to shift away, but Maggie held on tighter to Sasha’s hand.

”AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!”

Sasha looked to see where the scream came from along with the rest of the guests.

A girl with tan skin, fluffy brunette hair in a bun, wearing a royal blue ballgown, ran into the ballroom, crashing into a table.
“Ow!”

Sasha realized who it was and her heart skipped a beat.

”Anne?”

Sasha broke free of Maggie, who glared deeply at her stepsister.

Anne held onto a table full of food where people were sitting at, forcibly walking to Sasha. She kept trying to cling to the table to stay away from Sasha, but only fell right into Sasha’s arms.

Sitting on his throne holding a glass of wine, Xavier watched with a smirk. “Something tells me she couldn’t stay away.”

Anne looked up at Sasha’s sky blue eyes that glowed.

”We need to talk.” Sasha told Anne.

”Sasha, please. Tell me you never want to see me again!” Anne pleaded.

“What?” Sasha asked. “I will if you tell me you don’t love me!”

Anne looked down. “It’s…it’s not that!”

”Why did you write me that letter? Tell me how you really feel about me.”

Annes shoulders went back and she looked into Sasha’s sky blue eyes again. “I love you!” She blurted. “But…I am wrong for you Sasha! I am wrong for the kingdom!”

Sasha just smiled softly at the Thai girl. “Is that what this is about?” Sasha cupped Anne’s cheek. “Come with me.”

Anne felt her shoulders go back as she followed Sasha out the ballroom.
Xavier and Night smirked as the two woman left, the plan slowly beginning.

Anne followed Sasha through a hallway, Anne looked at a clock and noticed it was only four minutes to midnight. She gripped her dress as she followed Sasha out a door.

Sasha opened a door and the two walked outside. Anne looked around in awe at their surroundings.
Mirrors were everywhere, vines and flowers decorating them. Anne could see the clock tower, a cruel reminder it was a matter of time before Anne did the dreadful deed.

”Is this…the hall of mirrors?” Anne asked, looking in her reflection in one of the mirrors.

“Yup. When I was little, my father brought me in here. He told me to look in the mirror and see myself as a great leader.” Sasha explained, looking in her reflection in one of the mirrors. “Somehow I never could. Until I met you.” The blonde turned to Anne with a smile. Anne’s eyes teared up and she began to sob.

Sasha noticed Anne’s cries and immediately ran over to her holding her shoulders. “Hey, hey, what’s wrong?”

”Sasha…I wish I could tell you. I wish I could tell you everything.” Anne sobbed, the tears streaming down her cheeks like waterfalls.

“Anne, look at me.” Sasha gently held up Anne’s chin. “These last days have been amazing. Well, except for the time we almost got eaten by ogres.”

Anne let out a small laugh. Even in her darkest moments, Sasha could still make Anne laugh.

”And you wrote that letter and broke my heart in half. Maybe in three, maybe in four, maybe even in a million. And I had to dance with Maggie.” Sasha scoffed thinking about Maggie, Anne smiled softly.

“But none of those things matter.” Sasha led Anne by the hand to stand on a large set of three stones that worked like stairs.
“We’re together now. And I never want it to end.” Sasha held Anne’s hands.

”I know, I know. And I feel the same, but…”

Through a window, Xavier and Night watched Anne and Sasha carefully, waiting for midnight so Anne could make the stab.

”That’s why I brought you here.” Sasha interrupted.

“Sasha, please listen to me…”

”Anne, I know you’re scared, I’m scared too. This is…this is a big step. But…” Sasha got down on one knee, she took out a small blue velvet box from her pocket.
Anne stared down at Sasha in shock with her brown eyes widening.

”Anne Boonchuy…Anne Boonchuy of Wartwood,” Sasha opened the box, revealing a beautiful sapphire ring. “Will you marry me?”

Anne smiled, tears still in her eyes.
And before Anne could say something…

The clock struck midnight.

The clock let out a chime at the time of the new day, almost in a way of taunting Anne.

”No…no, no, no, NO!” Anne screamed with a sob as she forcibly reached in her dress pocket to pull out the dagger, hiding it behind her back.

Sasha looked up at the Thai girl in confusion and sadness. “No? I don’t understand. What is it?”

Anne just sobbed in return, heart broken that she would have to kill Sasha after a moment like that.

Sasha stood up from the ground and held Anne’s shoulders. “My politics? Your family? Because those things aren’t important! What’s important is what’s in our hearts!” Sasha smiled gently at Anne. “If it’s strong, we can conquer anything!”

Anne let out another sob as she hugged Sasha tightly. “I do love you Sasha…I really do…”

Sasha smiled as she hugged back Anne. Embracing the woman she loved so much as tight as she could. “I love you too Anne.”

Annes tears went down her cheeks like waterfalls as she took out her dagger and aimed it towards Sasha’s back. The clock chimes went through Anne’s ears, almost like they were whispering in her ears to do it.

What was the point in her life?

Ever since she was born, Anne had obeyed everyone who asked and commanded her.

For eighteen years, Anne had done horrible things because of that stupid gift. It wasn’t even a gift. It was a curse.

Anne was forced to follow all of Maggie’s commands, being like a servant in her own home. Humiliating herself in front of tons of people.

She gave up her closet for Maggie and Gabby.

She gave Maggie her mothers necklace.

She stole things for Gabby.

Parisia made her end her friendship with Marcy.

She was nearly lunch for Grime and the ogres.

She was forced to kill Sasha, the only person who gave Anne a choice in what she wanted to do.

Sasha let her choose to stay at the party.

Sasha let her choose to kiss her.

While Sasha made her do other things like stand still and wait, untie herself, confess her love, and go with her to the hall of mirrors, Sasha never meant to hurt or force Anne with those commands.

Finally, Anne thought about her mother.

“What’s inside you, is stronger than anything else.”

Anne stared at her reflection in one of the mirrors.
Her mother believed in Anne, that she was stronger than the stupid curse.

“You will no longer be obedient…”

The knife was getting closer to Sasha’s back.

“You will no longer be obedient.”

For Anne’s whole life, people had told her what to do. It was Anne’s turn to tell herself.

“You will…no.”

”I will no longer be obedient.” Anne whispered as she continued looking in the mirror.

“I will no longer be obedient.”
Anne said out loud. Sasha opened her eyes and her blue eyes widened as she looked in the mirror, seeing Anne’s dagger.

”I WILL NO LONGER BE OBEDIENT.”

At those words, Anne’s shoulders went back for the final time. She dropped the dagger in her hand. Anne collapsed on the ground, not just from Sasha’s release from the hug.

The clock chimed for the final time of the night.

Anne panted heavily as she looked down in shock at her hands and the dagger that she had dropped on her own command.

”I…I don’t believe this.” Anne’s shocked expression turned into a smile. “I’m free.”

”You tried to kill me.”

Anne looked up at Sasha, who’s face was a mixture of heartbroken and shock.

”Sasha, no!” Anne rose from her feet, but before she could explain…

”Guards!” Xavier yelled coming out from the door.
Knights appeared from another door and grabbed Anne by her arms and dragged her away.

”No! Please, Sasha, WAIT!” Anne screamed as the knights dragged her away, Sasha just looked at the Thai girl in shock.

”Sasha, please! Let me explain! NO!” Anne continued yelling until she was thrown into a cell by the knights.

“Please….I love her.” Anne grasped onto the cold bars of the cell as she sobbed.

The ball had ended after the incident, Sasha stood in her room in shock in bewilderment thinking about Anne.

Anne had tried to kill her.

The one Sasha loved, the one she wanted to marry, tried to kill her.

“You realize of course, she’ll have to be put to death immediately.” Xavier told Sasha, who was confronting her.

Sasha turned to her uncle. “What? I mean…I know she tried to kill me, but that’s a bit extreme.” Sasha then sighed. “I just don’t understand. Maybe I should go talk to her,”

Sasha tried to make her way out of her bedroom, only for Xavier to stop her by the arm.

”NO! No. I forbid you to go down.” Xavier said sternly.

“Your highness, your uncle didn’t want to frighten you, but the secret police informed us of a possible uprising.” Night explained. “Those ogres in the forest, they were after you. They were never going to hurt the girl.”

“She was just toying with your emotions, Sasha.” Xavier said. “So she could get close to you and commit the murder herself.”

Sasha didn’t respond for a moment, trying to take this all in. “I…I just don’t believe it.”

”Yes, it does seem quite fantastic.” Xavier smirked from where Sasha couldn’t see her, he placed a hand on his nieces shoulder. “You just let me worry about all this. You focus on tomorrows coronation.”

”…okay.” Sasha could only respond.

“Sire, you know I have been working with the Red Guard.” Night reminded Xavier after they left Sasha’s room. “Why not call them in now and take over the whole kingdom like we planned?”

”Not yet, Night. First, we must find a way to get rid of Sasha.” Xavier responded, a smirk came upon his face. “And I think I have a pretty good idea how to.”
The man and snake began laughing wickedly, all at the fact Sasha would be dead soon and the throne would belong to Xavier forever.

Chapter Text

The sun shined over Lamia, the new day arising.
Some of the light made its way over to the castle dungeons.

Anne was woken up to sunlight in her cell as she rested on a bed. Anne had cried herself to sleep that night, her brunette hair was down and a bit of a mess, her once brown eyes full of life and energy were now lifeless and hopeless. She had taken off her petticoat and layers beneath her dress to try to create a rope out the window to escape, but the window was too small and her rope ripped.

Anne didn’t know what to do anymore, Sasha was going to die. And here was Anne, locked up far away from her love.

She had accepted the fact that there was nothing she could do anymore, and her execution would follow soon in the day.

There was no point in anything anymore.

After dealing with their singing, the Plantars had finally convinced a couple of elves to help them protect the princess for reasons they didn’t even know.

They had also gotten some giants, only being Andrias and Sylvia. The other giants just laughed at the Plantars and went back to their drinking. Only Andrias and Sylvia volunteered, much to the elf family’s delight. Especially Hop Pop since he could be with Sylvia again.

”Alright everyone, remember the plan?” Sprig asked the team.

“Yeah, but how are we going to get pass the guards?” Polly asked.

Before Sprig could respond, he heard a familiar voice nearby.

”Help! Somebody get me out of here!”

Sprig looked at a trash can nearby and noticed a familiar looking book in it.

”Yunan?” Sprig walked over to the trash and pulled Yunan out of it.

”Sprig!” Yunan smiled at the elf. “You saved my life! I’d hug you if I had arms!”

”What happened to you?”

“Some lady in the Hall of Records threw me out when she saw I didn’t have any pages.” Yunan grumbled.

“Where’s Anne?” Hop Pop asked.

”I don’t know, but Xavier did something her!”

The Plantars looked at each other in fear. Sprig looked down at Yunan.

”Yunan, show me Anne.” Sprig opened the book, and gasped at the sight he saw.

On the right page, there was Anne leaning against the wall of a cell. What happened to Anne? She looked awful! And how did she get there? Sprig could definitely tell by the poor girls eyes that she had been crying, possibly for hours.

“I bet that stupid Xavier has done this!” Polly fumed, angered at the fact that stupid king had locked up the nicest human Polly had ever met.

Sprig’s eyes narrowed together, angered that Xavier had put there, he slammed Yunan.

”We’ve got to save her!” He announced turning to the group of elves and giants. “It’ll take courage! Bravery! And…”

”OGRES!!!” One of the elves yelled pointing behind Sprig.

”Ogres? Nah, why would we need those?” Sprig asked.

”Sprig. Look behind you.” Polly hissed annoyingly hiding behind Andrias while Hop Pop hid behind Sylvia.

“Okay.” Sprig shrugged, not understanding. But when he turned around, he screamed in horror.

There was Grime, Mire, Fern, and Bogs looking at the elves menacingly holding their weapons in their hands.

”l was gonna ask you how you'd like to be eaten,” Grime said approaching Sprig, who shook with fear clutching onto Yunan.

”But if it’s Xavier you’re after, count us in.” Grime smirked holding out his hand for Sprig to shake.

Sprig was a bit surprised yet skeptical at first, but he just nervously smiled and took Grimes hand. “Welcome aboard!”

Grime nodded. “So, what’s the plan?”

Sprig then noticed a large carriage being pulled by a knight, he got an idea.

A rather short black knight was riding an executioner carriage, he stopped at the front of the castle, where two knights guarded the front.

”Executioner coming through.” The black knight said, his voice was deep, but sounded in a way as if someone was pretending it to be.

”Right this way.” One of the knights nodded.

The Black Knight nodded in return, the two other knights didn’t notice the Black Knights pointy green shoes.

Once they made it to the entrance of the dungeon, the Black Knight sighed of relief. He lifted his mask, he was actually Sprig in disguise. Sprig hopped off and opened the back of the carriage, where all of the elves, giants, and ogres were squished together.

“Everyone okay?” Sprig asked the team.

”Yeah, not like I’m being squished to death or anything.” Polly scoffed in between Grime and Andrias.

”Well it’s not my fault you're so small!” Grime bit back.

“We don’t have time to argue!” Sprig yelled. “Let’s go!”

Hop Pop banged on the dungeon door. “Open up!”
Sprig and Polly stood next to their grandfather with firm looks on their faces. Hop Pop held Yunan in his arms.

The Judus hole opened up, revealing the face of a large man. “What do you want small fries?”

“We’re here on behalf of Miss Anne Boonchuy, my granddaughter.” Hop Pop explained. “Now let us in at once!”

The Guard scoffed but opened the door anyway.

”Thank you kindly.” Hop Pop nodded walking into the room with his grandchildren.

“Now tell us kind sir, what exactly did my granddaughter do that got her in this place?”

”She is here for the attempt murder of the princess.” The Guard responded, skeptical about these elves.

”Ludicrous!” Hop Pop yelled.

”Anne would never do that!” Sprig added.

”You’re lying!” Polly added.

”If all of this is true, we’ll need some evidence…” Hop Pop went on walking, his back turned to the Guard.

He didn’t notice as Grime knocked the Guard out with his club, falling to the ground. Fern picked up the man and licked his teeth, ready to consume him.

“Hey! What are you doing?” Sprig asked the ogres.

The ogres went silent.

“Can’t we just have a bite?” Grime requested.

“Or take him to go?” Bogs added.

”Put the nice man down.” Hop Pop commanded.

The ogres grumbled and let go of the guard, who plopped on the floor.

”Guys?” A familiar female voice called out.

”Anne?” Sprig asked, his eyes widened and saw Anne in one of the cells. He quickly took the keys from the guard and ran over to the Thai girl with his family.

”Anne! We were so worried!” Sprig sighed as he unlocked the cell door.

”Sprig!” Anne wrapped her arms around the elf for a hug, who gladly returned the hug. She then hugged Hop Pop and Polly.

”You guys are the best! I’m so glad to see you all!” Anne beamed, she then took Yunan from Hop Pops hands.

”Yunan! I’m so sorry I left you!” Ann apologized.
“Not a problem kid, I blame Xavier for that.” Yunan assured.

Anne smiled but then remembered Xavier’s plans at the mention of the awful “king”.

“Yunan, show me Xavier!” Anne opened the book and gasped at the image given to her.

A moving image of Xavier switching out a crown with an identical one with green smoke rising from it was shown.

Sprig gasped. “That’s Sasha’s crown!”

”He’s poisoned it.” Anne growled closing Yunan.

”We’ve got to go! Now!” Anne yelled running out of the dungeon, the elves, giants, and ogres followed Anne behind.

Bogs stayed behind, and tried to take a bite out of the knight.

“NO!” Sprig yelled noticing the ogre. Bogs grumbled and followed the rescue team out the dungeon.

”Come on guys, we’ve got a coronation to crash!” Anne smirked.

Pink banners with the Waybright crest hanged along the walls of the castle hall.
The castle hall was filled of the entire kingdom and other royalties across the lands no one wanted to miss the crowning of their Princess Sasha.

At the front of the altar, Xavier stood there as Night hanged onto his staff. Three priests were at his side, to bless the new queen as ruler of the land.

Trumpets then blared, signaling the begin of the ceremony. The crowd went dead silent, no one dared to make a sound to interrupt Sir Xavier.

“People of Amphibia,” Xavier proclaimed. “Today is a very special day. For today you are here to witness the crowning of a queen.”

Sasha then walked out of the dais from the right side, two knights at her side.

Sasha looked handsomer than ever wearing a black tuxedo with a beautiful dark magenta cloak with jewels and gems decorating it. Her blonde hair was down resting behind her shoulders brushed neatly.

The crowd immediately went wild at the sight of their new queen, especially the Sasha Fan Club. Not to mention Maggie and Gabby, who clapped and screamed loudly. Maggie waved to Sasha, in hope she would notice her, and the Sasha Fan Club raised up banners that said things like “I ♡ You Sasha!” Or ”Marry Me Sasha!”.

But Sasha didn’t even bother to wave back or even smile politely, she was still depressed about Anne, and missed her so. As she approached the altar, the more lower her head hanged.

Meanwhile, behind a large door outside of the hall, Anne and Sprig peaked out watching the ceremony begin.

Grime then joined Anne and Sprig above them, making Anne look at the ogre weirdly.

”Why is he and the other ogres here again?” Anne asked Sprig.

”I told you, they said they would help us take down Xavier.” Sprig answered.

”Right.” Anne nodded, still feeling uncomfortable about the ones who tried to kill her a few days ago being with them.

“Hey I’m sorry about the whole thing the other day, but can you blame a hungry man?” Grime laughed.

”No, it’s okay.” Anne smiled awkwardly, she then noticed two knights guarding one of the entrance to the castle hall. She and Sprig looked at each other, then to Grime.

”Grime, do you think you could-“

”No need to ask.” Grime smirked, he called Fern over.

Back inside the castle hall, Xavier waved his hand as he sat on his throne. “Bring the crown!” He commanded.

A young boy then approached the altar holding a pillow with the Queens Crown on it. Xavier smirked.

The two knights guarding the entrance stood there, without a care in the world. Grime then quietly approached the knight on the left side, while Fern approached the one of the right side.

”Hey.” Grime greeted.

”Hey.” The left knight nodded in return, the realization kicking in late. Before one of the knights could do something, Grime and Fern knocked the knights out with their clubs, making them fall to the floor, putting them out cold. Grime gave Anne a thumbs up.

Anne smiled and returned the thumbs up, she looked to the rest of the team. “Do you all remember what to do?”

Everyone gave Anne their yes and nods, more than ready to crash the party.

”Good.” Anne smiled. “It’s go time.”

Sasha went down on her knee as the priest approached her holding the crown above her head.
Xavier and Night smirked evilly, waiting for the crown to be upon the blondes head.

But before the priest could place the crown on Sasha’s head, the doors were swung open.

“DROP THAT CROWN!”

Everyone turned their heads around and all gasped in shock at the sight.

Anne stood at the entrance with the Plantars, Elves, Ogres, and Giants. No one had ever really seen the three species together as a group before, not to mention they were interrupting the coronation.

Bee, Olivia, and her stepfamily were definitely shocked at Anne being with the other species like that.

No one was more surprised than a certain Queen-To-Be.
“Anne?” Sasha asked rising to her feet.

Xavier growled as he jumped up from the thrown. “SEIZE THEM!”

At that command, the castle hall broke out into chaos. Knights charged towards the team, only for the ogres to attack back. Grime swatted at knights with his club, Bogs punched them, and Ferns sat on them.

A couple of knights then charged towards Andrias and Sylvia.

”It’s payback time.” Sylvia smirked as she cracked her knuckles.

Andrias chuckled as he put his fist in his palm.

”CHARGE!” One of the knights screamed as he sprinted to Andrias with his sword out. Andrias just picked up the knight and swatted him across the room.

Night rolled his eyes and broke open and pressed a button on the wall which read Emergency Red Guard.

Ropes then came down from the ceiling, Red Knights slid down them.

“SASHA!” Anne screamed from across the hall, trying to get her attention. She needed to explain everything from her, there was no curse keeping her back from this anymore.

”Kill her. And anyone who gets in your way.” Xavier commanded coldly to the Red Knights.

The Red Knights nodded and then back flipped through the air to get to Anne, making people scream.

Anne screamed as two of the knights jumped in front of her aiming their swords at the Thai girl.

Sasha sighed and took off her cape, she grabbed a sword from one of the knights. “What the hell Boonchuy?” Sasha muttered as she grabbed one of the ropes.

“Sasha! No!” Xavier yelled at his niece, but Sasha ignored him. Using the rope, Sasha swung over to Anne and grabbed another sword from the knights. Sasha landed in front of Anne and handed her one of the swords for her to use.

”I can’t believe I’m saving you after you tried to kill me!” Sasha yelled.

”I didn’t try to kill you! I mean, I did! But-“ Anne tried to explain, but one of the Knights caught her off aiming his sword at her.

”Stay away from her!” Sasha yelled blocking the attack with her own sword. Anne fought off some other knights with her own sword.

“So that dagger you were about to plunge into my back was an early wedding present or something?” Sasha asked Anne sarcastically.

“No! Just let me explain!” Anne responded, clashing swords with a knight.

Meanwhile, at the other side, Sprig held onto Yunan tightly as knights charged towards him and Yunan. He didn’t have any weapons on him to defend himself, therefore he was petrified knowing he was about to be killed.

But as a knight approached him, Sprig realized he did have one weapon in his hands.

”EAT THIS SUCKER!” Sprig screamed as he swatted Yunan at a knights head. He hit more knights with Yunan, much to her dismay.
“SPRIG!” Yunan screamed.

Olivia, who was watching the entire ordeal in fear, heard her wife’s scream and looked to her left and gasped seeing her Yunan in Sprigs arms.

Yunan noticed her wife and called out to her. “Olivia! Help!”

Olivia put her hands up towards Yunan, she had tried many times in the past, and was not the best of fairies, but this time it had to work.

”Fairies across the land, please help me turn Yunan back into a human!” Olivia whispered. She closed her eyes, and flicked her hands.

A wave a blue particles came from her hands towards Yunan, covering her and Sprig. When the particles cleared however, Yunan was not a woman, and instead a pumpkin.

”OH COME ON!” Olivia groaned. Sprig yelped dropping the pumpkin to the ground, only for two knights to grab Sprig’s shoulders.

Olivia sighed and closed her eyes again, she concentrated on her magic as much as she could, and flicked her hands again.

The blue particles came back over to the pumpkin Yunan, and when it cleared, there stood a tall woman with light blonde hair, tan skin, and yellow eyes. She wore a brown shirt with black pants and boots. It was Yunan. She was human again.

Yunan looked at herself for a moment, then smiled to Olivia. Olivia smiled to her wife in return, overjoyed that her wife was back.

As much as Yunan wanted to embrace and kiss her wife, she was still in the middle of a battle. Yunan turned around and punched and kicked a couple of knights.

Meanwhile, Anne was explaining everything to Sasha. Her curse, the hall of mirrors incident, everything. All while still fighting the knights.

”Then Xavier found out about the curse and he ordered me to kill you. So l had to break up with you,” Anne continued on. “even though l'm pretty sure that you're the best thing that's ever happened to me.” She smiled softly while dodging from some knights with Sasha.

“Also, that crown he's about to put on your head, it's poisoned.”

”DUCK!” Sasha screamed as another knight approached, Sasha slashed her sword with the knight.

“Nice!” Anne praised the blonde as she punched a knight.

Instead of saying thanks, Sasha looked at Anne with shock in her eyes. “Xavier’s trying to kill me?”

”Yes! He-hold on,” Anne turned around and jumped up in the air and spun around, kicking a few knights.

”Woah.” Sasha marveled at Anne’s moves, a blush on her cheeks.

No one noticed as Night slithered on the floor, making his way towards Sasha.

”Sasha, there’s one more thing.” Anne put her hands on Sasha’s shoulders. “He killed your father.”

Sasha went silent, too shocked to respond. “…what? No, that can’t be true…”

”Of course it isn’t!” Xavier said at the altar, who had been listening to everything. “Who are you gonna believe? This lying little twit, or the man who raised you?”

Before one of the teens could respond, Anne looked down and noticed Night next to Sasha, he opened his mouth, his fangs out, ready to bite the blonde.

Anne gasped and kicked the black snake away, throwing him across the hall.

Unfortunately for Night, the Sasha Fan Club had saw his attempted murder.

”He tried to kill Sasha!” One of the girls yelled. “GET HIM!”

The entire Fan Club then charged to Night, planning to torture and hurt him as much as possible for trying to murder their Sasha.

”Uh oh.” Night whispered as the club came upon him.

“Well, I guess THAT answers your question!” Sasha yelled at Xavier with a small laugh in her voice.

Xavier growled and glared at Anne. “You vile little girl! I should’ve disposed of you when I had the chance!”

Anne and Sasha walked onto the altar. “You almost destroyed this kingdom! You killed my father, your own brother! How could you?” Sasha fumed.

Xavier approached Sasha. “How could I? I wanted something, he was in my way, I got rid of him.”

The audience gasped at Xavier’s confession, shocked at the fact Xavier murdered his own brother.

“HE WASN’T FIT TO WEAR THIS CROWN!” Xavier screamed, startling everyone in the hall. “You weren’t fit to wear this crown! This crown is mine.” Xavier grabbed the crown from the priest.

He held it above his head, about to put it on. Anne was about to say something, only for Sasha to put an arm in front of her. “Wait.”

”THIS KINGDOM IS-“ Xavier placed the crown on top of his head, the realization then came to him. “Oops.”

Xavier dropped to the floor, a trail of green smoke coming from the crown. Xavier was dead.
The audience gasped, while Anne and Sasha just stared down at him blankly.

”Wow. What an idiot.” Polly commented with the team.

Anne and Sasha approached the dead man, Sasha took Anne’s hand and gently put her chin up to have Anne look at her.
“You saved my life.” Sasha said.

Anne just smiled at the woman she loved. “Now we’re even.”

Sasha chuckled and tucked a strain of Anne’s hair behind her ear. The two teens leaned into each other until…

”ANNE! DON’T YOU DARE KISS HER!”

Anne and Sasha turned their heads to the crowd and saw Maggie and Gabby running towards them.

Maggie glared sharply at her stepsister, a smirk then came upon her face. “You are never to kiss her again!”

Gabby smirked and nodded her head, neither of them were aware that Anne’s curse was gone.

Anne smirked at her stepsisters, she noticed her mother’s butterfly necklace around Maggie’s neck. Ever since Maggie had entered her life, she had been treating Anne like a servant, abusing her curse for her own benefits. But now Maggie couldn’t control Anne anymore.

Anne leaned down on her knees towards Maggie, Maggie’s smirk didn’t leave her face. She really thought she had control over Anne, it was pathetic. This would be fun.

“Oh yeah?” Anne smirked, Maggie grinned wickedly. “Watch me.” Anne snatched her necklace from Maggie’s neck, making the ginger gasp. Anne stood up and laughed as she put her necklace around her neck.

Maggie clenched her fists in anger, realizing her power over Anne was gone. Ashamed and angered, Maggie ran away out the hall, Gabby followed her sister out the hall.

Sasha smiled and put an arm on Anne’s waist and pulled her close to her. “Marry me?” Sasha asked, hoping she would say yes this time.

Anne smirked, she didn’t need to hesitate. “Now that’ll do.”

“Awww.” The crowd cooed. The Plantars smiled at each other, Yunan and Olivia held onto each other and smiled.

Anne then threw her arms around Sasha’s neck and kissed her, Sasha immediately kissing her back wrapping her arms around her waist.

Everyone cheered for the couple, the Plantars, elves, ogres, giants cheering the loudest.

Anne kissed the woman she loved so much with so much passion and love.

She was finally free, and now she and Sasha could be together.

“I now pronounce you wives.” The priest concluded.

Anne and Sasha released from their kiss and smiled at each other.

It had been two months since Sasha’s coronation, Anne had moved into the castle with her father and Olivia and Yunan.

Bee had divorced Parisia, and she, Maggie, and Gabby left the kingdom, no one knew where they went or even cared.

Sasha renounced the elf restrictions, and Hop Pop got his farm back, Sprig was preparing his travels, and Polly became the head elf engineer.

The giants were freed from labor too, and Sylvia and Hop Pop got together.

The ogres signed a peace treaty with Sasha, free to be in the kingdom and had join the royal guard.

Anne had wondered what happened to Leif, and it turns out she was arrested for giving unicorns alcohol, her sentence would be twenty years. “Good riddance” Anne had said.

Finally, there was Marcy. Anne had apologized to Marcy and explained everything, and the two were back to being the bestest of friends.

Lots of preparations were made for the wedding under the last two months, invitations were sent, outfits were made, and food was prepared.

Now here Anne was, married to the love of her life.

Sasha looked so handsome in her white tuxedo with her now short blonde hair that dropped to her shoulders brushed neatly. She wore a matching white cape, which her father had wore on his wedding day.

Anne looked beautiful in her long wedding gown that had sleeves and a cape attached to the back. Her brunette hair was done up into a neat bun, some of her fluffy hair still showing. At the top of her head was a tiara with a long veil attached to it.

Anne and Sasha smiled to the cheering audience, overjoyed for their Queens.

Sprig, as Sasha’s best man, handed the newly weds a plate of two silver chalices. The couple smiled at the elf boy and took their chalices. Anne and Sasha raised their chalices to the crowd, holding hands.

”To a nation of equals!” Sasha proclaimed proudly to the crowd. “To my good friends,” Anne and Sasha looked to the Plantars and Marcy, who raised their chalices with a smile.

“And to my true love, Anne.”

Anne smiled at Sasha, who smiled in return.

The crowd clapped and cheered for the couple, raising their glasses. Anne and Sasha intertwined arms and took a sip of the others drink. Everyone else in the crowd took a sip of their own drink.

The crowd continued clapping, while the Sasha Fan Club sobbed and whined at the fact Sasha was now married and taken.

After sipping their cup, Anne and Sasha shared another kiss. After their kiss they smiled at each other and hugged.

Now, there was no one or something keeping them back from their love, they had each other now, forever.

So, such is the story of Anne Boonchuy. A spunky young woman once under a spell.

If there’s one thing to learn, it’s you can’t go wrong if you follow your heart, and end with a song.

”Don’t go breaking my heart!” Anne singed walking down the aisle with Sasha, holding her hand. Everyone else in the hall danced to the music.

“I couldn’t if I tried.” Sasha singed with a smirk, Anne rolled her eyes playfully.

”Oh honey, if I get restless,”

”Baby you’re not that kind.”

Anne smirked and took off her petticoat and cape  and let her bun loose, letting her brunette hair down. She put her hands on Sasha’s shoulders and giggled.

”Don’t go breaking my heart!” Hop Pop singed to Sylvia in her arms.

”You take the weight off of me!” Sylvia singed.

“Oh honey when you knocked on my door,” Olivia singed dancing with Yunan knocking on her chest, approaching Anne and Sasha.

”I gave you my key.” Yunan singed in return, Olivia and Yunan bumped elbows and came next to Anne and Sasha.

Everyone twirled around and put their arms up.

At the front of the crowd, Anne, Sasha, Olivia, and Yunan, danced together.

”Woo-hoo!” Everyone singed putting their finger up and putting it in the air while shaking their hips.

“Nobody knows it!”

Everyone stroke a pose, then went back to dancing.

“When I was down!” Sylvia singed.

“I was your clown!” Hop Pop singed back.

“Woo-hoo!” Everyone danced

”Nobody knows it!”

Sasha took Anne’s hands. “Right from the start,”

”I gave you my heart!” Anne returned, she then let go of one of Sasha’s hands and leaned out.

“Ohh-oh! I gave you my heart!”

Everyone twirled, Anne and Sasha switched places with each other.

”Don’t go breaking my heart!” Sasha singed as she held Anne’s hand. Anne smiled at her wife.

”I won’t go breaking your heart!”

“Don’t go breaking my! Don’t go breaking my!

The crowd singed as a chorus, everyone danced around the couple.

”I won’t go breaking your heart!” Anne singed.

“Don’t go breaking my! Don’t go breaking my!

Sprig, Polly, Marcy, and Bee danced in front of the couple putting their hands out and joined Anne and Sasha at their side.

“Don’t go breaking my! Don’t  go breaking my!”
The Sasha Fan Club then all rushed over to Anne and Sasha and squealed at Sasha. Anne and Sasha stood their awkwardly until the club let out one last scream and scurried away.

”I won’t go breaking your heart.”Sasha sung.

A bunch of ogres then danced by, putting their arms down.

“Don’t go breaking my! Don’t go breaking my!”

“I won’t go breaking your heart!”

A bunch of knights then danced by in a Rockette-style dance, arms on each others shoulders and throwing their legs out.

“Don’t go breaking my! Don’t go breaking my! Don’t go breaking my heart!”

“I won’t go breaking your heart!” Anne sung to Sasha.

“Don’t go breaking my! Don’t go breaking my!” Everyone continued singing, beginning to swing dance together.

Anne and Sasha danced together, Sasha twirled Anne around and brought her back in and the two spun together.

“I won’t go breaking your heart!” Sasha sung.

The couple stopped danced, Anne put her hands on Sasha’s cheek and pulled her in for a kiss. The two kissed for a moment, and then broke it apart.

”Don’t go breaking my heart!” Anne vocalized. She took Sasha’s hand, the two ran out of the church together.

“Don’t go breaking my! Don’t go breaking my! I won’t go breaking your heart!”

The Plantars, Giants, Ogres, Olivia and Yunan, Bee, Marcy, and everyone else followed the couple out the church. Some people however stayed inside the church since there wasn’t enough room outside, but still clapped and cheered.

“Don’t go breaking my! Don’t go breaking my! I won’t go breaking your heart!”

Pink rose petals began showering down, Anne and Sasha climbed onto their wedding carriage.
Anne threw her bouquet of red roses to the crowd, Marcy caught it in her hands with a smile.

Anne gasped and smiled at her best friend, she waved to Marcy and to all of her friends as the carriage began to roll.

“Good luck Anne!” Marcy called to Anne, waving goodbye to her best friend.

”Bye Anne! We’ll miss you!” Sprig smiled waving to the couple.

“Take care kiddo! Don’t be too long!” Hop Pop waved, sitting on Sylvia’s shoulder.

“You’re the best!” Polly yelled over the crowd, waving to Anne and Sasha.

Anne and Sasha smiled at the Plantars and waved goodbye to them and all their friends and subjects as the carriage rolled them away from the kingdom to their honeymoon.

Once they couldn’t see their friends anymore, the couple sat down in their seats. Sasha smirked at Anne.

”What?” Anne asked, returning the smirk.

“Nothing. I just love you.”

Anne rolled her eyes and kissed Sasha’s lips, Sasha returned the kiss, wrapping her arms around Anne’s waist as Anne wrapped hers around Sasha’s shoulders.

And so, Anne and Sasha rode off to begin their happily ever after.

I think it’s only proper if I end this story with,

The End.

Notes:
