Work Text:
After the parents revealed they were having another baby, Kagero was curious about his childhood. And though he looked through Daiji’s stuff- photo albums, home videos and whatnot- he wasn’t fully content.
'I want MY things,' Kagero explained to Daiji as they looked through old toys.
'Like what? Your stuff is my stuff. Are you looking for something in particular…?'
'Yes! Uh,' Kagero paused.
'What is it?'
'You remember rainbow loom bracelets? They were a trend a few years ago?'
'Yeah, why?'
'Oh fuck, I threw it away-' Kagero suddenly remembered.
'What? What is it?' Daiji asked as Kagero started crying. He ran away to his room, leaving the old stuff behind in the living room.
'Okay so, when we were younger and rainbow loom bracelets were like a thing, I made one because everyone was making them, and I liked it and then ended up getting rid of it,' Kagero explained to Daiji after taking a few minutes to just cry.
'Oh. Do you remember what pattern and colours you used? I’m sure we can buy materials-'
'No, it’ll be expensive!'
‘Kagero, how expensive do you think rubber bands are? Here, this is a kit that costs ¥2000 and comes with a bunch of colours, that should be enough to make whatever you want.'
Daiji easily bought the item online, surprising Kagero with how easy that was.
When the package arrived a few days later, Kagero was ecstatic to remake the bracelet he had thrown out about a decade ago, and then decided to make more.
Daiji wasn’t into the bracelets, but as long as Kagero was happy he didn’t really mind.
